Camping or living in an RV is a great way to travel across America and explore the great outdoors. However, RV travel comes with several challenges that only RVers can understand.

Fortunately, most experienced RVers have learned to overcome these issues and laugh at their mistakes. Below are 40 Funny RV Camping Memes to help RVers laugh at their experiences.

Funny RV Camping Memes

The following funny RV camping memes should give any RVer a good chuckle. Read on and see if you can relate to any of these RV camping situations.

If this RV meme confuses you, just take a walk around an RV park after dark. You can see everything inside any RV where the curtains are open and the lights are on. If you do not want everyone watching you watch TV, be sure to close the blinds at night.

Many campers are early risers, and are ready to hit the road at first light. However, many of these early birds also like to start their engine way too long before they leave and wake up the whole campground.

Camping at the beach is an awesome experience, but have your broom ready! This funny RV camping meme shows that parking on the beach has a few downsides.

Some of our favorite funny RV camping memes compare the realities of RV camping to the pictures we see on Instagram. The internet features many pictures of RVs parked all alone in picturesque situations, but most RV parks look more like parking lots.

When camping in cool fall or spring weather, RVers rely on their propane heaters to keep them warm at night. When you wake up with frozen toes in the middle of the night, it is a good indication that you have run out of propane.

Many new RV campers picture cooking gourmet meals over the campfire. In reality, most campers end up roasting hot dogs or even picking up some fast food.

Anyone who has slept on an RV mattress, knows they are just glorified camping pads placed on top of a wooden platform. Do yourself a favor; upgrade your RV mattress and sleep like the baby on the left.

RV camping is a great way to spend a holiday weekend. Unfortunately, thousands of other campers also think it’s a great idea. To have the perfect holiday camping weekend, plan to spend lots of time in nature and avoid the pool and other shared amenities.

This is one of our favorite funny RV camping memes for dry campers. Are you even an RVer if you haven’t taken a bath in a river or used a bucket for an impromptu shower?

There is nothing worse than packing up the campsite and realizing your slide won’t go in and you can’t drive away. If this happens to you, hopefully the issue can be fixed quickly without calling a repairman.

It is easy to have buyer’s remorse with RVs. Many RVers wish they had bought something smaller and easier to maneuver, while others wish they could upgrade to a big rig. The feature that really makes me jealous though, is a roof full of solar with a big battery bank.

Funny RV Life Memes

So, this RV life meme originated from my own grandmother. She loves to introduce me to people at her retirement home by proudly telling them I live in a trailer.

Everyone always seems very confused by her pride in this statement, but I’m pretty sure they are not picturing the scene on the right.

The above meme is my absolute favorite of all of our funny RV camping memes. It features our RV dog, Ted, in his favorite outfits pre and post RV living. The humans in our RV also dress a bit more casually for work these days.

If you want to see a full time RVer stumble over their words, just ask them where they live or where they are from. When you move every week or two, these can be incredibly difficult questions to answer.

If you answer that you live in an RV, you are also likely to spend the next hour answering follow-up questions.

Many RV parks ban the use of clothesline, which leaves full time RVers struggling to find somewhere to hang their clothes.

In our five years of traveling the country in an RV, we have been cut off by numerous small cars. It almost never fails when we see the drivers of these cars, they are looking at their phone.

Planning your next move is always more difficult when your are traveling with a spouse who has different plans. Just remember the best camping trip is the one your wife planned!

For whatever reason, humans have an affinity for naming inanimate objects. We name our cars, our boats, and yes, our RVs!

Even when not written on the RV, people often refer to their RV by a sort of pet name. In many cases, it’s a variation of the make and model, like Winnie the Winnebago. In other cases, you know there’s a good story behind the name that needs sharing.

I always get a kick out of hearing what people name their RVs, and apparently, Mel from our Facebook group does, too. She posted, “Hi, new to the group! I want to know what you named your RV?!”

Why Name an RV?

Humans like to name things. We name our children, pets, teddy bears, ships, biceps, and even storm systems! I mean, you could say, “Hailey blew through and left wreckage in her wake” and you could be talking about a hurricane, a freighter, or a toddler!

But why do we do it? Why do we like to name things?

A Sense of Connection

When looking into the psychology of naming things , there seems to be a strong basis in our social nature. As social beings, we long to connect with others as it brings us comfort and joy. So much so, that we can even feel connected to things, which makes us want to name them. 

It’s that same reasoning where people name pets, but don’t name livestock. Once you name something, you don’t want to eat it!

A Sense of Control

There’s also an argument for our human need to tame things, to control things, or even to hold claim over something. If you name something, it means you have the authority to name it. It belongs to you and will listen when you call. And, again, you will be connected to it.

There’s a wonderful reference to these ideas of connection and taming from the famous children’s book, The Little Prince…

The fox says to the little prince, “To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world …”

So, I suppose our RVs are just like a hundred thousand other RVs until we tame them. Sometimes just taking ownership of an RV is enough for some, while others take it a step further by naming them.

It’s Practical

Sometimes we name things simply because it’s practical. For instance, it’s just easier to say “Winnie” than it is to say “Winnebago.” I think that’s explanation enough to make this point.

Names also help to differentiate between similar objects. For example, if you’ve owned three Winnebagos, you can say, “Remember that trip with Winnie” compared to “that other trip with Bago.”

Maybe Occam’s razor applies here and the simplest answer is the best answer: we name RVs because it’s fun! We simply like to name them because it amuses us. 

And it amuses others and can serve as an icebreaker when making friends at a campground . Oh wait, that brings us back to our first reason of forming connections! So, even the simple answer is rooted in complex human behavior!

Why Do We Name RVs but Not Houses?

A lot of people have names for their boats and RVs, which got me thinking, why don’t we name our houses? Well, it turns out, that some people do, and it’s actually more common in other countries, like England. 

But in America, the only houses I know of that have names are vacation homes. I wonder if there’s a connection between recreation and the desire to name these large items?

Perhaps we don’t feel like naming our primary residences because we often feel like they own us! (Or that the bank owns them!) So, we don’t feel like we’ve tamed it yet.

Or, perhaps it’s because we have a very structured way of naming our houses already, like 123 Main. Since it’s already given a specific name by others (the county zoning department), we don’t feel the need to name it ourselves. 

But once we have a vacation home, we have to be able to differentiate between our two homes, so we name the fun house! Yep, I think I’m on to something with this reasoning.

How to Choose Names for Your RV

Jennifer and I once named a campervan MAJOR. It stood for Mike And Jennifer’s Other Residence. We got the name from a reader's suggestion and thought it was pretty clever. But the company that made that little bugger ended up in the middle of a MAJOR scandal and declared bankruptcy almost immediately after we got it, which caused us to get rid of the RV as soon as possible.

Ever since then, we’ve refrained from naming our RVs. It was bad luck for us. So we simply refer to them by their model, The Wonder, The Arcadia, The Montana. Well, to be fair, Jennifer has been calling our new Montana fifth wheel “The Condo” lately… 🙂

When choosing a name for your RV, you have a few different routes to take. You can go personal, funny, punny, or inspiring.

Personal RV Names

With personal RV names, there’s typically a story tied to the name or it’s in honor of someone. Many of the commenters said they named their RV after a loved one, much in the way captains name their ships after women they love. Or, there’s a story like, “I named my RV Bambi because I almost hit a deer the first time I took it camping.”

So, this style of name typically “comes to you” naturally.

Funny & Punny RV Names

I gotta say, I’m a big fan of funny and punny RV names. You can be driving by a rig, see its name and laugh at it without needing an explanation. It’s a small entertainment while driving for hours on the road.

You’ll see from the list of RV name examples below that people have come up with all kinds of funny RV names and some great puns, too.

My personal favorite from the list is naming a Class A “Life Coach.” It’s punny, and you can say things like, “Man, my Life Coach really opened my eyes to the world,” or “I’m so much happier ever since I got my Life Coach.”

Inspiring RV Names

The RV Lifestyle lends itself to plenty of inspiration, so it’s no wonder many RVers give their RV names that reflect that. Liberty, Freedom, Serenity, and Wanderer are all fitting names for any RV.

Such names give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside or motivate you to go on another adventure.

Don’t Forget To Show Off Your Camper Name

If you are going to name your RV, you may as well also show it off. After all, when you name a boat, you print that name on the side or rear of the boat for people to see. 

After all, what is the point of naming your RV something super funny or clever if you aren’t going to show it off? You can always get some decals on the side of your RV with the name on it, or at the very least, a big bumper sticker. 

There are many companies out there ( like this one ) that will create custom RV stickers that can be easily applied anywhere on your RV, whether by yourself or professionally. 

There are even some companies out there that will create large RV signs out of wood, metal, or plastic, just in case you are willing to spend a bit extra and want something fancy.

Russian TV Alarmed by NATO Ally's Ukraine Plans: 'Not Funny Anymore'

A Russian state TV host has expressed alarm over French President Emmanuel Macron doubling down on the possibility of sending ground troops into Ukraine.

"I don't know; this isn't funny anymore. Please do something!" Ekaterina Shugaeva said during a state TV broadcast.

Macron has said there are "no limits" to Paris' support for Kyiv . In late February, he suggested that NATO members could send ground troops to Ukraine , and the leader doubled on that statement last week, saying that "we cannot exclude options" because "the security of Europe and the security of the French people is at stake here."

"The jets are flying [over Ukraine], the HIMARS are flying," said Shugaeva. "Do you understand that [Macron's] lost it, he's going to send in the troops [to Ukraine].

"And your sons will be getting killed. The enemy is strong, it's not decadent, I want us to take Macron seriously," she added.

Newsweek reached out to Russia's Foreign Ministry for comment via email.

In an interview on French national television TF1 and France 2 on March 14, Macron said that while Western troops aren't needed in Ukraine now, he wouldn't rule out sending ground troops to the war-torn country in the future.

"We're not in that situation today," Macron said, adding that "all these options are possible."

"Today, to have peace in Ukraine, we must not be weak," he said. "If war was to spread to Europe, it would be Russia's sole choice and sole responsibility. But for us to decide today to be weak, to decide today that we would not respond, is being defeated already. And I don't want that."

He added: "If Russia wins this war, Europe's credibility will be reduced to zero."

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded to Macron's remarks on March 15, telling reporters that it was "obvious that Russia is an adversary of France because France is already involved in the war in Ukraine; it is indirectly taking part in this war."

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned during his annual State of the Nation address in Moscow late last month, after Macron's suggestion, that his "strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full readiness."

"Russia won't let anyone interfere in its internal affairs," he warned.

Macron said during his television interview that Putin making nuclear threats was "not appropriate."

The United States and Germany have resisted Macron's suggestion that NATO members could send ground troops to Ukraine. President Joe Biden has "made it clear that we will not put U.S. boots on the ground," National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said last week.
