Official description [ ]

Experience the Edge of the Galaxy – The Sims™ 4 Star Wars™: Journey to Batuu is set on the remote planet of Batuu, inspired by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort® and Walt Disney World Resort®. Sims will be surrounded by the iconic sights and sounds of Star Wars including Stormtroopers, unique Batuuan attire, custom lightsabers, the bustling activity at the famous Oga’s Cantina, the interstellar hits of DJ R-3X and even the Millennium Falcon.

Create Your Star Wars Story – The Resistance, First Order, and scoundrels are fighting to control Batuu, and it’s up to players and their Sims to determine who will succeed. As Sims undertake challenges and special missions, they can gain (or lose) the trust of the affiliation of their choice, unlock rewards, equipment, new outfits and critical missions that will influence changes to the world and tip the balance of power.

Unite with Iconic Characters – Completing missions earns reputation points and helps them get closer to meeting the leaders of the forces on Batuu. Depending on the choices they make, Sims will meet iconic Star Wars characters, including Rey and Vi Moradi (Resistance), Kylo Ren (First Order) or Hondo Ohnaka (scoundrels).

Create Your Own Lightsaber – Players will also get to explore Batuu and all it has to offer along their journey, including finding artifacts like kyber crystals and hilts to create the most coveted Star Wars artifact: a lightsaber. Once Sims collect enough pieces to construct a blade, they can build their fitness skill by training and go head to head against other Sims in lightsaber challenges.

Customize Your Droid Companion – Sims will also have a chance to visit the Droid Depot and customize their very own droid to help during missions. Droids are useful companions and can use their scanners on unknown crates, scramble control panels or distract rivals.

Bring Batuu Back Home – The fun doesn’t end on Batuu! When Sims return home, they can bring back new decor, recipes and artifacts inspired by their travels, including their lightsaber and droid, play a game of sabacc, or even host a playful lightsaber training session. [3]

New features [ ]

World and neighborhoods [ ].

The pack includes a new destination world - Batuu. It is a desert planet in the distant Star Wars galaxy in a star system with three suns and two moons. To visit, Sims will have to vacation there or wait for a phone call from a friend.

Batuu consists of three neighborhoods, each corresponding with its faction:

  • Black Spire Outpost (Scoundrel faction)
  • First Order District (First Order faction)
  • Resistance Encampment (Resistance faction)

Each neighborhood has a non-editable lot and a faction-specific spaceship to explore in. Batuu also features numerous rabbit holes to visit for needs such as buying food, sleeping or shopping for goods. Whilst there, galactic credits are used as currency instead of simoleons and Sims everywhere must wear Batuu outfits (which can be customized).

Factions and missions [ ]

The player will choose to align themselves with up to two of the three factions: Scoundrel, First Order or Resistance. To do so, missions have to be performed for a specific faction. Upon successful completion of the mission, the Sim's influence towards the faction will increase, eventually becoming a member of that faction. Current influence can be checked using Batuu Reputation , which appears as a section of the Simology panel when visiting the world. Sims also earn galactic credits or bonus items as rewards for finishing missions. Reaching higher levels of influence with a faction will bring benefits such as access to its secret areas, permission to fly their spaceship or more social interactions.

Sims can only gain influence with either the First Order or the Resistance. Performing missions for one faction will decrease its influence on the other. For example, a successful mission for the First Order nets a Sim more influence with the First Order but as a consequence, its influence with the Resistance is decreased. However influence points for the Scoundrel faction is unaffected and can be gained regardless of a Sim's alignment with the First Order or the Resistance.

Other New Features

New additions [ ]

New Objects

  • Lightsabers
  • Sabacc - a card game in the Star Wars universe
  • Starfighters

New Radio Stations

  • Batuu Radio

New Aspirations

A new Star Wars aspiration category is added to the game containing:

  • Hope Vs Order (Star Wars) - On the world of Batuu there is a growing conflict. This Sim is out to explore Black Spire Outpost and understand whether they should stand with the Resistance or the First Order.
  • Galactic Privateer (Star Wars) - This Sim isn't about choosing sides, they're happy just mingling among the smugglers, and bounty hunters on the fringe planet of Batuu. Earning a few extra credits along the way is just a bonus, no matter how they get them.

Additionally, Sims can obtain the following unlockable aspirations after progressing through the Hope Vs Order milestones:

  • Paragon of Hope (Star Wars) - This Sim looks to be the spark of hope that disrupts the First Order’s operations on Batuu and aid the Resistance cause.
  • Enforcer of Order (Star Wars) - This Sim is out to prove their loyalty to the First Order by stamping out the Resistance presence on Batuu.
  • Heroic Presence - Heroic Sims gain Charisma more easily, and can also inspire other Sims with their presence.
  • Supreme Authority - Sims with Supreme Authority have an edge during fights and can show their might, encouraging other Sims to back down from hostile socials with them. These Sims are also less likely to die from anger.
  • Sleight of Hand - Sims with a Sleight of Hand can Pickpocket other Sims and will never get caught cheating at Sabacc.
  • Prepared Voyager (Bonus Trait) - Sims who are Prepared Voyager's [ sic ] fill up their needs slightly when travelling.

New Clothing

  • Star Wars themed clothing for Sims to use.
  • The new Batuu clothing category that Sims will change into when visiting the world in order to blend in. This can be set by selecting 'Plan Outfit' at the Dwelling rabbit hole.
  • Unlockable outfits as Sims gain influence within each faction.

New Recipes New recipes can be learned from Batuu restaurants and food stalls:

  • Docking Bay 7 (Black Spire Outpost)
  • Ronto Roasters (Black Spire Outpost)
  • The bar at Oga's Cantina (Black Spire Outpost)
  • This is the first game pack in The Sims series based on an existing brand. All prior packs based on existing brands have been stuff packs, such as The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff , The Sims 3: Katy Perry's Sweet Treats , The Sims 3: Diesel Stuff , or The Sims 4: Moschino Stuff .
  • This is the first content pack in The Sims series to be based on an existing movie franchise.
  • The alien NPCs in Batuu are technically normal Sims in all aspects. They are wearing a hat that gives them the appearance of another life state .
  • The trailers for this game pack are the most disliked trailers in The Sims official channel of YouTube, beating the trailer for The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff for number of dislikes, the latter having being deleted.
  • This is the only game/expansion pack for The Sims 4 to not receive a livestream from the developers.

The Sims 4 Star Wars Game Pack

Journey to batuu dlc additions and gameplay features.

The icon for The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu

Star Wars: Journey to Batuu. The Sims 4 is in there, too.

The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu Game Pack aims to let players enjoy an authentic Star Wars experience by letting them take a trip to Batuu. While adventuring there, they'll be able to meet Star Wars characters, collect some iconic items like lightsabers and droids, and bring those items home once the trip is done. Journey to Batuu has a September 8, 2020 release date.

Where Does This Come From?

the sims 4 journey to batuu

Who are these characters? Check out the blog linked below to learn about Galaxy's Edge and the characters involved in the Disney attraction.

A blogger named Crazy Cat Nerd did an excellent write-up that you can read on her blog which will explain Batuu, the factions and characters involved. This pack has a tie-in with a Disney theme park attraction called Galaxy's Edge. If you are a Sims player who wants to understand what is going on in this pack and who the characters are, I highly recommend you visit her blog to learn more.

Batuu: A Star Wars Outpost

The outpost of Batuu in The Sims 4 Star Wars Journey to Batuu

The Outpost at Batuu

Players will get a phone call offering them adventure, which leads them to the world of Batuu. It's an outpost in the Outer Rim in the Star Wars universe. You'll find three separate factions here: smugglers and scoundrels, the First Order, and of course the Resistance. Each of these groups is attempting to take control of Batuu as a valuable trading outpost.

Work for three separate factions in The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu game pack

You'll work for multiple factions in order to increase standing.

Missions sound like they are the primary gameplay. You'll develop a reputation with each faction as you perform missions for them. This may involve spying, sabotage, collecting, or making repairs and flying starships.

Buy a droid in The Sims 4 Star Wars

You can purchase and customize droids in Journey to Batuu

In order to assist you with missions for the three factions, you'll be able to purchase your own Droid at the Droid Depot. It would appear there are both R-series Droids (think R2-D2) along with B-series, like BB-8 in the new trilogy. These can assist you on missions, and you're able to at least customize the color. They apparently can be instructed to help you by providing distractions and helping with repairs.

Lightsabers

A lightsaber in The Sims 4

Fitness skill is used for lightsaber combat. It seems there will mostly be friendly duels.

Lightsabers are also included in the pack. You'll have to collect Kyber Crystals (not our typical Sims collectibles) and get a hilt to make your own. Lightsabers use the fitness skill to determine your ability with them.

Back at Home

Decorate your home with items brought back from Batuu

Decorate your home with items you bring back from Batuu.

This is a travel experience, not something that is going to have a lot of impact back in Sims-ville. You will be able to bring your Droid back home, and use your Lightsaber in friendly duels with Sims. Additionally, there are objects you can use to decorate your home (and of course you'll get access to the assets they used to make various things on Batuu). It's not a pack that is extensively integrated with the rest of the game, and comes across to me as a very contained experience due to these things.

Thus far, I'm not aware of any new skills or careers, just missions and galactic credits you can spend when on Batuu. To take advantage of this pack, you'll need to cheat or travel to Batuu.

My opinion on Sims 4 Star Wars

My opinion doesn't belong on this page, but I've definitely provided one.

Because I know that some people are excited and would prefer my main pages to be about the actual content, I've kept my opinion on this pack separate. It's evolving, but you can read my thoughts here if you are interested in what I think .

So is it just the lightsaber and the droid no Jedi or Sith abilities? That's HIGHLY illogical if it's the case what's the point of a Star Wars based add on without the ability to make a Jedi or Sith character.

The droids are 'functional' on Batuu but then seem to turn into some sort of motorized toy when back in your Sim normal home as the EA blog says they can be driven around with a datapad. The lightsaber builds fitness skill only. No Jedi or Sith 'skills' it seems. Basically you take your Sim to Batuu as a replica of the real life experience of visiting Galaxies Edge, your Sim does 'missions' to gain reputation and the local money, buys trinkets (droids and lightsaber etc) to bring home as souvenirs I guess.

Gravatar

I guess you could make jedi and siths by using cheats to add Rey and Ren to your households then saving them to the gallery, then start a new game with the duplicates, as well as customizing them, that or using vampire abilities to mimic the force.

So I guess it's basically a Theme Park Star Wars instead of a real life Star Wars. The main problem with this DLC than is the fact that it seems to try and play up to being something it's completely not. people wanted other things instead of Star Wars and those that wanted Star Wars wanted a REAL Star Wars. meaning the ability to use Force Powers, a real droid, and a real lightsaber what you end up with is nothing but pretty much fake toy versions. Can't believe that they thought this was a good idea.

Gravatar

Define "real lightsaber."

Gravatar

it would be similar to a laser beam at least in my mind. Which is possible...

Gravatar

Technically a "Real" lightsaber, is a fluorescent Lightbulb powered by hidden cable. Reality is what you make of it, until you refuse to be deceived.

Gravatar

This is not supposed to be “Movie” Star Wars. This is supposed to be Disneyland/Hollywood Studios Walt Disney World Galaxy’s Edge Star Wars. This expansion separates Real World to SIMS World which is why you need cheats for Star Wars Sims. Those that live Disney Game App brings in a real feel to what you are actually doing besides scanning crates at Galaxy Edge. You will enjoy Galaxy Edge and have a better appreciation of SIMs 4.

Kids these days...do you have any idea where the idea for the theme park comes from? Also, Disney is something I adored in my youth, now? Not so much; I realize, now, how much convoluted marketing was done in this. To be perfectly fair, theme parks should never have existed, the world would be a lot better. Of course, by that logic one could also say The Sims 4, itself, caused a great dis-service to our world.

It is also set in an ambiguous time frame around The Last Jedi so that means there wouldn't be any Sith or Jedi (excepting Luke and Rey) in the world.

Gravatar

excited for this pack!!

Gravatar

I'm sad that this pack (like many others) have so much more potential, but this is just another vacation spot with a lacking story and no real feel for Star Wars to it from my understanding

This is exactly like the real life Batuu at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. What I love about expansion ack it separates SIMS World to Real World. It is like a dream state. Star Wars Sims cannot come into SIMs World. The missions are almost like the Disney it is the best expansion made for SIMS because I live the dream.

Gravatar

Have you noticed that both Rey and Kylo Ren have unique voices apart from all other sims. Most noticeable is Rey's which seems to have a "British/Simlish" accent, and is modeled after Daisy Ridley's voice presumably. My question is, is there a way we can cheat maybe and assign this other voice to other sims during CAS? I'd love to have Sims with a British type voice.

Gravatar

I'd be quite happy with the pack exactly as it is... if only there was a gameplay hook like a bloodline trait. Let's say a sim completes one of the faction aspirations, and has a child with a NPC from Batuu, then the child would have "the force" or whatever -- something similar to the magical bloodline that can get stronger or weaker. And in this case it could give more XP for completing missions (because that can be a tedious chore) and better performance in lightsaber duels.

And forming that bloodline would give a reason to go back, to have a family of the force. It would be a great gamplay hook, like the Sulani Mana trait and ancient magical bloodline gives the player a goal, and makes engaging with the respective game mechanics more worthwhile. I want to like the pack. I want my sims to have a fun reason within their pixelated existence to to go. But they don't. I, the player, may or may not be a Star Wars fan, but my 7th gen sim? Why does he want to go? For him it's not a holiday, it's work. With no benefits. Right now, Batuu is beautiful but a pointless grind. But if I could have a baby Jedi? Sure.

Gravatar

Has anyone managed to complete the Paragon of Hope aspiration? I can never slice the door open despite maxing out on skills

Yes, I've completed it, you have to make sure that you've either created a distraction with your droid, or be completely clear of First Order personnel. Anyone near you at all will screw up the action.

Gravatar

I used my droid to unlock the door.

The first few days I played the heck out of it and enjoyed it. There are a few things The reviews are missing and maybe it is just as simple as no one knows what to do with them either LOl but what is with the scans are they just an inventory item or is there something you can use to display them like a holotype thing?

Scans are intended to teach you about Star Wars objects/people/places, assuming that you're a newcomer to the series. BUT, if you multiselect them after you've read them in your inventory, they can be sold for a small amount of galactic credits, so they are also worth some money too! I had a small bug in my game when I played, and I could sell them multiple times for infinite credits!

Not New to either Star Wars Or The Sims Franchise. That's Disappointing that there is no display option.

Except I still have no idea why I have a "non-transferrable" comlink in my inventory (if I had known it was another one of those "no touch" inventory items I would've not bought it lmao, SWJTB has a lot of those "Refuse to be boxed" Items tbh.)

Oh And Thank you for the Answer!

Gravatar

So has anyone else had an issue with their Magical or Vampire powers not working here?

Like Sims in my household/travel group can't use any Magic or Vampire abilities while on Batuu?!?

But Wizards/Witches and Vampire AI that wandered in still have access to their powers...?!? Has anyone found a way to fix this?

Gravatar

You could try zeros vampire mod..just google "zeros vampire mod"..

Bugs me that my super speed has gone and I can't drink from anyone..but seems that eating sim food fills up the thirst bar..going to put his mod back in because u can invite a vamp along and feed from him or her with this mod..wish they hadn't frozen our supernatural powers..they need to fix that asap >.>

Gravatar

If you create a new sim they can a star wars theme for their aspirations. Unfortunately, they are not able to live there full time and still require housing in one of the sims worlds.

Gravatar

I just buy the star war on the Sims 4. But I can't met the star war ppl.

Gravatar

I'm not sure it's a skill but I think they play a poker game in this expansion that's for real money. If you leave them at the table you can see it ka-chinging all over.

It's sabac and yes the Sims gain small amounts of money if they win.

Gravatar

I accidentally deleted Hondo Ohnaka, now what?

Nevermind. I downloaded a new one from the gallery, got his id and gave him his original NPC job.

What happened to this pack? I don't see it for sale

The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu starting guide, from how to visit Batuu and first steps explained

The basics of the Star Wars-themed expansion.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu game pack is a bit of an outlier for the series.

While this isn't the first time that The Sims has changed up its gameplay or, indeed, featured a cross-over with another franchise (remember when The Sims 3: Supernatural met Plants vs Zombies?), going from a quiet suburban life in Willow Creek straight into the galactic melting pot of Batuu can potentially be a bit of a culture shock for Sims and players alike.

Whether you're a Star Wars super-fan or it's your first foray into a galaxy far, far away (or, like your humble author, consider yourself somewhere in the middle of the two extremes), this The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu guide will help you to navigate your Sims' first interaction with this galaxy far, far away.

We also have a page dedicated to Batuu's three factions - the First Order, Resistance, and Scoundrels - and their starting missions, as well as lightsabers in The Sims 4 .

The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu starting guide: How to travel Batuu and what to do first

The way to get your Sims from home to the new world of Batuu is surprisingly prosaic: use a phone or computer to take a vacation, and select Batuu from the menu of available destinations.

the sims 4 journey to batuu

This will be familiar to players who have the Outdoor Retreat and/or Jungle Adventures game packs, as it's the same method used to travel to Granite Falls and Selvadorada.

Of course, even if you don't want to use your phone or computer, you'll receive a notification or phone call from a Batuu Sim asking whether you'd like to visit the location anyway. This usually happens when you start a new Sim Household though, so give it a few days at most if you're waiting for that all important phone call.

the sims 4 journey to batuu

Batuu is treated by the game as a vacation world like the former two, though there are a few differences.

Your Sims will still automatically use up any paid vacation days from work while staying on Batuu, but other earthly considerations (such as holidays if you have Seasons installed) will prove too distant a concern and pass without notice.

However, those Simoleons you just earned are no good here: Batuu's economy operates on a separate currency called Credits. You'll arrive with a few Credits in your pocket, and can earn more from gambling at the Sabacc table or completing faction missions.

Cover image for YouTube video

(Don't worry: your hard-earned Simoleons - along with your Bits and Pieces if you have Eco Lifestyle installed, plus any and all contents of your Sim's personal inventory - will be restored to you on your arrival back at home.)

the sims 4 journey to batuu

There is no need for your Sims to book accommodation, as they will be staying (for free, thanks to Batuu's legendary hospitality) in the Dwelling at Black Spire Outpost.

Since your first mission requires you to get to know this part of Batuu, it's best to start your Sims' vacation there when prompted to choose a neighbourhood to visit.

the sims 4 journey to batuu

The Dwelling works in a similar way to a campsite tent in the previous vacation-themed game packs: rather than behaving like a building, it's an object which Sims can interact with to change clothes, sleep (and WooHoo if their romantic partner is present), and 'freshen up' (meaning, in this case, restore their bladder and hygiene needs, as well as giving other needs a small boost).

The Dwelling is the only place on Batuu where Sims can recover bladder and hygiene, as well as one of the few places to get a proper night's sleep, so returning there at least once or twice per in-game day is a good idea.

the sims 4 journey to batuu

While on Batuu, you can find your missions under your Sim's Career panel, while their reputation with each of the three factions is tracked under their Simology panel.

the sims 4 journey to batuu

Our The Sims 4 cheats can help you fast travel your way to all sorts of bonuses in the game. Meanwhile, if you have expansions, we can help with becoming a werewolf , Fabrication in Eco Living , Tiny Living , how to become a Mermaid , how to become a Spellcaster , High School and attending prom and University Degrees and Distinguished Degrees . In June 2020, we also saw the free addition of ladders in The Sims 4 .

Upon arriving on Batuu for the first time, every Sim will automatically receive the two-part 'Welcome to Batuu' mission. To fulfil it, visit the Dwelling to freshen up and change clothes (the Dwelling is stocked with the new Star Wars-themed clothing items to help your Sims fit in); then head over to Docking Bay 7 to order some food.

The Black Spire Outpost's circular design can be difficult to navigate, but to help you orient yourself, the Dwelling and Docking Bay 7 both have glowing blue outlines until you interact with them for the first time.

Everything New In A Nutshell

  • Unique Batuu Gameplay
  • New World (Batuu)
  • New Aspirations Under Star Wars Category - Hope VS Order, Galactic Privateer, Paragon of Hope, Enforcer of Order
  • New CAS, Build/Buy Items

Batuu Gameplay

To embark on their Batuu adventure , Sims must use a computer or phone to select "Go on Vacation" since it's considered a destination world. Once there, players can choose the district they want to visit and be instantly teleported to Batuu. A unique feature of Batuu is that Sims don't need to rent a lot or limit their stay, allowing them to essentially live there forever, but their performance at work or school will suffer if they attend any. Sims also take on a new appearance and must dress in attire that is immersive and true to the Star Wars universe, and they must use Galactic Credits instead of Simoleons. Upon returning from Batuu, everything will revert to normal.

Players will notice changes to several UI menus, including the career panel with Batuu Missions, and the Simology panel with Batuu reputation for each faction. Players can align themselves with two of the three factions: Scoundrel, First Order, or Resistance. Sims can only gain influence with the First Order or the Resistance, with successful missions for one decreasing influence with the other. However, completing missions for specific factions successfully will increase reputation and even allow Sims to become a member of that faction. Benefits of higher levels of influence include access to secret areas, permission to fly spaceships, new CAS items, and more social interactions.

As Sims progress through missions on Batuu, they will gain reputation points that bring them closer to meeting the leaders of each faction on the planet. By making different choices along the way, players will get to interact with beloved Star Wars characters, such as Rey, Vi Moradi, Kylo Ren, and Hondo Ohnaka. Along with these exciting character interactions, players will also get to fully explore all that Batuu has to offer, from scavenging for artifacts like Kyber crystals and hilts, to constructing the ultimate Star Wars treasure: a lightsaber. Once players have collected enough pieces to build a blade, they can train their fitness skill and compete against other Sims in lightsaber challenges. Upon returning home, players can bring back new items and souvenirs inspired by their travels, including decor, recipes, and artifacts, such as their unique lightsaber and droid. They can even engage in fun Star Wars -related activities, such as playing sabacc or hosting a lightsaber training session to keep the memories of their adventure alive.

Batuu is a captivating destination world that was introduced in The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu game pack. It is on a different planet like Sixam, but Batuu is a desert planet with three suns and two moons, located in a distant galaxy. It's full of Star Wars -themed elements, being the only collaboration pack to date. Batuu consists of three neighborhoods: Black Spire Outpost, First Order District, and Resistance Encampment, each with a single lot for traveling purposes, and unfortunately, there are no editable lots unless cheats are used . Sims do not have a designated place to stay, but they can make use of tents while traveling, which is an interesting challenge on its own . They will need to interact with objects, other Sims, or rabbit holes to fulfill their needs while in Batuu. For example, to fill their hunger bar, Sims can check out Ronto Roasters, Docking Bay 7, Oga's Cantina, or some stalls.

One unique aspect of Batuu is that Sims can learn new recipes by consuming the foods and drinks that are unique to Batuu. The new recipes can be tried at home, so players can enjoy this feature even after leaving Batuu. It's also worth mentioning that the Batuu pack has limited integration with other game or expansion packs. Like other destination worlds, Batuu is not affected by any weather changes in the Seasons expansion pack . Furthermore, Sims who possess supernatural powers or abilities via their occult life state will be unable to use them while in Batuu.

Star Wars Aspirations

  • Aspiration Tree Image via the Sims Community

The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu introduces the Star Wars Aspiration category. This category contains four new Aspirations, but only two are immediately available in CAS. The other two Aspirations are unlocked once players complete the first milestone of the "Hope VS Order" Aspiration, based on whether they choose to side with the Resistance or the First Order. This is a noteworthy addition as there are no other aspirations that require completing objectives from other aspirations to unlock them.

The only comparable aspiration is the secret Grilled Cheese aspiration, as it is hidden . When players choose an Aspiration from the Star Wars category, their Sims will receive a new trait called "Prepared Voyager". This trait enables them to fill some of their needs slightly when traveling. This is especially useful as Sims don't have a permanent home lot on Batuu and will need to rely on credits to fulfill their needs. With the Prepared Voyager trait, Sims can focus on exploring all that Batuu has to offer without worrying too much about their needs.

Galactic Privateer Aspiration

The Galactic Privateer aspiration is the most straightforward among the new additions as it doesn't require choosing between the Resistance and First Order. It can be completed concurrently with faction-related aspirations. It revolves around a scoundrel's way of life, which entails mischievous behavior such as cheating in games like Sabacc, swindling, and completing missions for the Scoundrel Faction to earn Galactic Credits and maxing out the reputation with this faction.

Related: The Sims 4: All The Worlds In The Game, Ranked

The Sleight of Hand reward trait obtained from the Galactic Privateer aspiration allows Sims to pickpocket other Sims and cheat at Sabacc without getting caught, resulting in the potential to earn extra credits. While this aspiration is primarily useful within the world of Batuu, where Galactic credit is the main currency, those who spend a lot of time in this world will benefit from having a reliable source of credit.

Hope VS Order Aspiration

The Hope VS Order Aspiration is a necessary step that unlocks two other unique aspirations, and consists of only one step. Sims must explore all three neighborhoods, learn about the Resistance or First Order, and complete a mission for them. It's important to note that Sims can start either of the next two aspirations regardless of which faction they choose and can switch between them at any time. However, completing one of the aspirations may be difficult due to low reputation with the other faction.

Interestingly, this aspiration does not offer a reward trait, setting it apart from other aspirations. Instead, players are awarded credits and can begin working on the newly unlocked aspirations.

Paragon of Hope Aspiration

To complete the Paragon of Hope Aspiration, players must align themselves with the Resistance Faction and accomplish several objectives, including completing missions for the Resistance, recruiting at least 3 Sims to the faction, achieving the maximum rank with the Resistance, and participating in activities like exploring the Batuu caves and disrupting the First Order by infiltrating their neighborhood.

Upon completion of the Paragon of Hope Aspiration, players will receive the reward trait Heroic Presence. This trait allows Sims to easily increase their Charisma skill and also inspire nearby Sims, making it a useful trait outside Batuu as well.

Enforcer of Order Aspiration

To complete the Enforcer of Order Aspiration, players must align themselves with the First Order and accomplish several objectives, including completing missions for the First Order, recruiting at least 3 Sims to the faction, achieving the maximum rank with the First Order, and participating in activities like checking ID's and arresting Resistance members. In both of the aspirations, players must obtain a Droid as well.

After successfully completing the Enforcer of Order Aspiration, Sims will receive the reward trait Supreme Authority. This powerful trait grants Sims an advantage in fights, allowing them to display their dominance and intimidate other Sims to back down from confrontations. In addition, Sims with Supreme Authority are more resilient to anger, making them less likely to die from this emotion. With this trait, Sims will command respect and assert their authority wherever they go, including other worlds outside of Batuu.

The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu introduces Droids, robotic companions that players can use for missions, music, and socializing. Two types of Droids, R Units and BB Units, are available with customizable body and head parts. These Droids can accompany players in Batuu and other worlds. To acquire one, players need to visit the Droid Depot in the First Order District and buy it with Credits.

Droids are unique in that they can be upgraded and maintained to unlock new interactions and features beyond their default abilities. Players who have achieved Rank 3 in any of the Batuu factions can purchase Droid Personality chips that alter the Droid's voice and personality.

New CAS And Build/Buy Items

The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu expands the Create-a-Sim options with numerous new choices inspired by the Star Wars universe. In order to fit in on Batuu, players have a variety of outfits to choose from, which can also be worn in other worlds. The new items include clothing, hats, hairstyles, accessories, and face markings that add to the immersive experience of the planet. As players advance through the reputation system of any faction, they can unlock additional CAS items, including Stormtrooper masks and uniforms.

This pack also offers an impressive array of over 140 buy-and-build mode items, featuring various objects, build items, styled rooms, and more. A majority of these objects are interactive, such as tents, lightsabers, droids, and the Sabacc table. This pack is an ideal choice for Star Wars enthusiasts looking to infuse their Sims' homes with a wide range of furniture and collectibles that pay homage to the franchise.

New features [ edit | edit source ]

World and neighborhoods [ edit | edit source ].

Factions and missions [ edit | edit source ]

The player will choose to align themselves with up to two of the three factions: Scoundrel, First Order or Resistance. To do so, missions have to be performed for a specific faction. Upon successful completion of the mission, the Sim's influence towards the faction will increase, eventually becoming a member of that faction.

The Sims 4: Journey To Batuu Review: "Your Focus Determines Your Reality"

Whatever you think of Journey To Batuu, it's the very first pack that you can truly just skip over if Star Wars isn't your thing.

The new game pack for The Sims 4 , Journey To Batuu, is the most contentious DLC for The Sims 4 to date. This ambitious crossover between the two major franchises seems to have drawn even more criticism than My First Pet Stuff and Moschino Stuff combined. Now that I've had time to explore more of the pack, I took a look at the new Create A Sim options, build and buy items, and those bizarre alien "hats," as well as the rest of the gameplay.

Switching Sides And Completing Missions

In the preview , I explored a little about the world itself, as well as the Resistance questline. Since then, I've had the opportunity to follow the First Order and Scoundrels' adventures.

The First Order storyline was more unique than expected. Although it tells the Resistance's story for another perspective, the quests are very different. The Scoundrel questline is even more unique and focuses heavily on using the Millenium Falcon. Scoundrels also have no regard for your reputation, so you can build your standing with them alongside a reputation with either the First Order or Resistance.

The only other thing to note is that the aspiration linked to the Scoundrels requires you to bribe a Stormtrooper early on. This appeared next to impossible with a high Resistance reputation, so it can be worth checking out the aspiration before you do too much else.

If you play through all three storyline missions, it will take a decent amount of time. The missions also don't just end when complete. Each faction has repeatable tasks that you can continue to do to earn Galactic credits to spend on droids, lightsabers, and all kinds of other weird and wonderful goodies.

The mission system plays like a combination of Jungle Adventure's temple running and Island Living's odd jobs . For example, slicing panels to hack them requires you to analyze the item to find the correct option, or take your chances and hope for the best. Some missions use the rocketship's choices system, while some will require you to speak to, find, or even interrogate different people or locate specific items. There's also some sneaking and distracting involved, tasks which your droid is very useful for.

Build And Buy

The build and buy catalog is incredibly expansive for a game pack. It includes windows, doors, wallpaper, stairs, fences, and stone paths. You'll also find chairs, tables, bars, shelves, and a massive range of decorative and clutter items.

The aesthetic is based on Batuu, so everything matches well and the vibe very much screams Star Wars. It's a home on a desert planet with a post-apocalyptic steampunk look, and includes huge amounts of industrial-type items including generators, crates, and vents.

As expected, live edit and hidden objects increase the number of items available and will even allow you to place ships on your lots. Whether you find the items useful will very much depend on how you build. While most are too niche for a regular home, they are well suited to industrial lots and match especially well with the Strangerville items. Builders will also love the sheer volume and versatility of the clutter items in particular.

Create A Sim

Heading into Create A Sim, the regular clothing choice is reasonable for a game pack. Every item is designed to match the outfits seen on Batuu and there are choices for all ages.

Spread across adult masculine, feminine, and unisex options are 12 one-piece outfits, 16 tops, and 12 skirts or trousers. Alongside this are three pairs of boots, as well as outfits that allow you to dress as Kylo Ren, Rey, and Vi Moradi. As you gain a reputation with the different factions, you can also unlock ten more options including stormtrooper outfits, First Order uniforms, scoundrel outfits, and rebel pilot costumes.

Children have two unisex tops, three pairs of trousers, and a pair of boots, while toddlers have three one-piece options. All ages have five new hairstyles, most of which are unisex. Children can also dress as Jawas.

All these outfits can be worn in the regular world, but Sims on Batuu can only choose from this selection to keep the immersion intact. However, when you open up the headgear things get a little weird.

Create A Bith

In Batuu, you'll notice that there are different races wandering around. They are the Abedned, Twi'leks, Mirialan, Zabrak, and Weequay.

You can actually produce a Sim with any of these looks, but there are some bizarre limitations. Mirialan's are created by selecting the face paint option, while Twi'leks' facial features are found under hats. Both have full-body skin colors. In fact, the Twi'leks have six full-body skin color options. The Zabrak can also be easily created using a "hat" since their skin color matches the regular options.

However, the Bith, Weequay, and Abednedo have a "hat" option that gives players a custom head, along with a skin that extends only onto some of the body, meaning these three races cannot be dressed in anything less than mid-length sleeves and trousers with a high neckline.

"Your Focus Determines Your Reality" - Qui Gon Jin

Whether or not you find this pack enjoyable will very much depend on your playstyle, as well as how much you love Star Wars. It also depends on your expectations. The pack is unique in terms of the crossover and aesthetics, but uses many existing gameplay systems in a new way, similar to how Cats & Dogs adjusts the restaurant system for Vet Clinics.

In terms of fans versus non-fans, the quests are playable for non-Star Wars fans, but the experience will be harder work and less enjoyable. Simple things like not knowing the names of the ships can make it difficult to find things. Scanning items to learn more about them helps, as does hovering over the mission objective for hints. However, these do slow you down and are not always clear. There are also a lot of Star Wars easter eggs in the pack which will bring a smile to fans' faces, but totally pass others by.

I predict that this pack will be a love-it or hate-it for many players. For me, the biggest disappointments are that most of Batuu is merely set design, Chewie is a still photo, and the alien CAS options are limited. I also really wanted to fully interact with Kylo Ren and Rey. However, when considering these limits, you also have to remember that this is a Sims 4 game pack, not a full-blown Star Wars game or even an expansion pack.

Whatever you think of Journey To Batuu, it's the very first pack that you can truly just skip over if it isn't your thing. Batuu is entirely separate and you can only edit Oga's Cantina and the First Order supply building as well as the Resistance bunker and a small part of the camp outside. The build items are useful, but fit a very specific aesthetic many people may not like and the clothing options are the same. If you choose to pass on this one, you truly won't be missing out in terms of the wider game, which is a huge plus for a pack that's so unique and specific.

A PC copy of The Sims 4: Journey To Batuu was provided to TheGamer for this review. The Sims 4: Journey To Batuu will be available for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 8. A copy of The Sims 4 is required to play Journey To Batuu.

The People of Batuu

When your Sim first arrives on Batuu, it seems like the perfect place for an adventure. Good atmosphere, incomparable artifacts, interesting Sims, and delicious local specialties abound.

But before long, they’ll be caught up in the conflict between opposing factions. Learn what you can about them by talking with the locals before you decide who to support, or just dive right in! A simple drink at Oga’s Cantina or a conversation on the street could guide your Sim onto their path.

There’s no guarantee they’ll stay on that path, though. You decide if your Sim dedicates themself to the cause or defects for another faction entirely. Whatever your Sim aspires to be—a Paragon of Hope, an Enforcer of Order, or a Galactic Privateer—they have every opportunity to live out their dreams on Batuu.

The Scoundrels

You’ll find more than amazing drinks, delicious food, and great music at Oga’s Cantina. In the heart of Black Spire Outpost, the notorious smugglers of the planet still thrive. Keep an eye out for Hondo Ohnaka if you’re looking for some slightly-less-than-legitimate work on Batuu. The charming and beguiling Weequay pirate-turned-businessman usually has a few missions for Sims who ask nicely.

Be careful about the missions you select! As a scoundrel, it’s important to ensure the Resistance and the First Order are more focused on each other than on your Sim’s activities. As you build up your reputation for one faction, it may drop with another, and scoundrels walk a tight line between the two.

The more Sims do for Hondo, the more their reputation as a scoundrel grows. Sure, maybe it starts with sneaking into a building at first, but before you know it, your Sim is stealing files, skimming credits, and setting up traps. Get in on a big heist, gain access to the Millennium Falcon ™ for missions, and live it up as one of the most infamous scoundrels on Batuu.

Did we mention the galactic credits? Sorry, we should have led with this: get rich as a scoundrel!

The Resistance

While enjoying a drink at Oga’s Cantina, make sure your Sim takes a moment to chat with DJ R-3X, the reprogrammed pilot droid spinning space jams. While he never leaves his post, DJ R-3X hears plenty of gossip… and he shares. A lot. He might even tell you the rumor he heard about the Resistance hiding in the forest outside of town.

To join the Resistance, your Sim will have to prove they’ll do what it takes to stop the First Order. It might mean doing a little reconnaissance to build up enough reputation for higher-level missions. Gotta start somewhere, and it might as well be looting supply crates and spying on the First Order, right? Build up enough reputation, and perhaps your Sim will gain Vi Moradi’s trust and the ability to fly the X-wing on daring missions. Maybe they’ll earn Rey’s respect if they climb high enough up the ranks!

But as the missions get harder, a First Order plot that could spell the end for the Resistance emerges. Can your Sim help the Resistance foil the First Order’s plans? Succeed, and your Sim will be a hero. Fail, and the First Order will be that much closer to stopping the Resistance.

The First Order

While the Resistance makes every effort to hide their presence on Batuu, the First Order proudly lays claim to the outpost. Commanded by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, they aim to bring order to the galaxy—starting with Black Spire Outpost. After all, it’s overrun by smugglers and Resistance spies. Join their ranks to help them root out the Resistance.

As a trooper on Batuu, it’s your Sim’s duty to suppress any Resistance plots aiming to undermine the First Order. Complete missions to protect the First Order’s interests—fortify the communications array, check IDs on the street, and patrol Black Spire Outpost. Lt. Agnon and Kylo Ren are depending on your Sim.

Do not disappoint them. (Especially Kylo Ren—he has… some anger issues.) If your Sim succeeds in their attempts to aid the First Order, they’ll be rewarded with great power. Earn both the fear and respect of the locals, and people will have no choice but to fall in line with your Sim’s orders. The Resistance better watch out.

The Sims 4 Fairies Mod is getting a Major Update

sims 4 fairies vs witches mod update

Modder does the unthinkable with the Fairies vs. Witches 2.0 Mod Update!

The Sims modders keep pushing the limits of whats possible in this ten year old game. The Sims 4 Fairies Mod created by SpinningPlumbobs is a living proof of that. With the latest update to their Fairies vs. Witches Mod Pack adding options to shrink your Fairy dramatically. And have their same characteristics remain intact!

The Sims 4 Fairies Mod Update

What’s included in Fairies vs. Witches 2.0? Find out in this update breakdown!

What’s New in Fairies vs. Witches 2.0

Modder SpinningPlumbobs has shared their first preview of The Sims 4 Fairies Mod update in their four minute trailer. Revealing some shocking features that left the community speechless!

Check out the first look below:

The upcoming re-release of The Sims 4 Fairies vs. Witches Mod features additional gameplay such as:

  • 20 new spells and several abilities
  • An Alchemy skill with cauldrons to brew unique elixirs
  • Ritual Circle for witch covens to use
  • New Magic Energy feature with various effects and consequences

This update has been in progress for quite some time and I can’t wait for you all to enjoy it!

The biggest part of this Update that hasn’t been mentioned above is the fact that Fairies can now shrink down to the size of Sprites. All while performing new interactions that are supported by this Mod!

The first segment of the Fairies vs. Witches Mod Trailer shows a Fairy Sim with all their shrinking possibilities. Hiding in the wood log and giving another Sim a kiss all while being in their miniature Fairy form!

sims 4 fairies mod3

My favorite aspect of this Mod Update however wasn’t shown in the trailer. The modder released a video on Twitter showcasing how Fairies can now take a shower. By simply transforming to their miniatures and taking a bath under the sink!

Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do to stay fresh~ ✨🛁 pic.twitter.com/48IwUVzkq4 — SpinningPlumbobs (@sp_creates) March 23, 2024

Players who are more inclined to play as a Witch in The Sims 4 will be happy to know about the new Alchemy Skill and Ritual Circle object. If you’ve been wanting to take revenge on a specific someone then now’s the time!

The Sims 4 Fairies vs Witches Mod

The Sims 4 Fairies Mod Update goes to great lenghts to add support for Toddlers. There are new interactions and Occult details that you can use as a Fairy or Witch Toddler, depending on the magical route you’ve taken.

Just look at those little wings!

About Fairies vs. Witches Mod

You might be thinking to yourself why are Witches a part of this Sims 4 Fairies Mod if we already have them with the Realm of Magic Game Pack. They are completely seperate from Spellcasters, and have more dark, powerful magical abilities and spells that you can cast onto other mortal Sims.

2022 11 07 18 26 55 999 SunflowerSyrupGShade

The addition of Fairies within this Mod Pack goes great, as they serve the purpose to balance out all the evil features and possibilities that Witches bring. These contrasting Occult forms already bring enough variations in terms of Spells, Skills and Occult Archetypes. Among new objects, interactions and rich animations that come along.

We have a full guide on the original features of The Sims 4 Fairies vs. Witches Mod, and how to progress in the new ranks and skills.

The Sims 4 Fairies Mod Update Release
