Travel essentials: 11 best travel tech devices and gadgets

Traveler on a journey with train

Whether you're traveling to visit family or friends or just heading towards a winter destination to keep warm, the gear you bring along with you could go a long way in affecting the quality of your trip.

Beyond your personal preferences — from hand creams to books — there are a few things you really don’t want to forget on your next trip, no matter where you're headed: underwear (been there), your toothbrush (been there, too) and headphones for the plane (worst of all, arguably). Even if you like to unplug a bit when you travel, the right tech can make your trip a lot more pleasant, so you might want to consider leaving some room in your backpack for these handy gadgets.

Best headphones for traveling

1. bose soundsport wireless headphones.

If you’re going to be stuck on a plane for a few hours, don’t settle for the cheap in-flight earbuds. Grab something that sounds good and isolates noise — I like the Bose SoundSports for their comfortable fit. But most quality earbuds with silicone tips should do the trick.

2. sony professional large diaphragm headphone.

You could also grab an over-ear, wired pair like the Sony MDR-7506 , which is designed to fold up perfectly for travel.

3. sony wh1000xm3 noise cancelling headphones.

If you want to kick things up a notch, a pair of headphones with active noise cancellation like the Sony WH1000XM3 will help drown out the loud hum of the plane’s engine, among other things.

Travel-worthy portable chargers and battery packs.

When you’re in an unfamiliar city, you probably use your phone a lot more than you expected you would — especially thanks to easily accessible maps. But using GPS can drain your battery quickly, so it’s a good idea to carry a battery pack when you’re on the road. I actually bring two with me.

4. RAVPower USB C Power Bank

A big portable charger like this RavPower 26800mAh model can charge USB-C laptops thanks to its 30W output.

5. anker powercore+ mini, 3350mah lipstick-sized portable charger.

And a small battery pack like the Anker PowerCore+ Mini (which fits in my pocket when I’m walking around town) will keep your handheld and wearable devices on through the day.

Travel-ready routers provide wi-fi (virtually) anywhere.

While you can get internet at just about any hotel , Airbnb , or other type of lodging, the included Wi-Fi isn’t always ideal.

6. TP-Link N300 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router

If your hotel provides an Ethernet cable, you can hook it up to a travel router — like the $30 TP-Link N300 Travel Router — for a stronger signal in your room, not to mention better security for your devices. It won’t get you internet where none exists, but it’ll beef up an existing internet connection where Wi-Fi is weak or unavailable. It’ll even help you connect something like a Roku Streaming Stick+ to the in-room TV , in cases where it won’t play nicely with the hotel’s guest Wi-Fi.

7. ravpower filehub ac750 travel router.

If you have a few more bucks to spend, the RavPower FileHub is a travel router that doubles as a battery bank and as an external hard drive, reducing the amount of things you need to carry.

And every time I unpack it in front of people crowded around an outlet, I become the hero of the airport.

Surge protectors ensure you have an outlet during travel

These days, most big airports have a plentiful bounty of outlets around. But if you’re traveling somewhere that isn’t quite as updated, you might have trouble finding a place to charge your laptop . Even if there are a few outlets along the wall, they may be taken up by earlier birds.

8. Belkin 3-Outlet USB Surge Protector w/Rotating Plug

That's why I always travel with a small power strip like this three-outlet model from Belkin . And every time I unpack it in front of people crowded around an outlet, I become the hero of the airport.

All-terrain phone cases will withstand the elements.

I’m not really a case person. I prefer my phones to be slim and sleek like the designer intended. But if I’m on vacation, I need a little extra protection. And it's not just drops on the pavement I'm concerned about — but also drops into the pool (or beach).

9. Lifeproof FRĒ Series Waterproof Case

Lifeproof’s FRE series is my go-to since it adds some extra water resistance and impact protection.

10. otterbox symmetry series case.

If you’re on a budget, a simpler case like the OtterBox Symmetry Series Case will do — I'd just recommend grabbing a water-resistant bag if you’re headed to the beach.

A flexible tripod will allow for (much) better group photos, 11. joby gorillapod mobile mini.

When my wife bought the GorillaPod before our last family vacation, I thought it was a little silly — but it ended up being one of the best things we brought with us. It makes it so much easier to grab pictures of you and your family and friends together, without each photo coming in at an awkward arm’s-length selfie style. There are other tripods out there, but the GorillaPod’s flexible design means you can stand your phone just about anywhere, including an uneven rock jutting out from the waterfall you discover on that one hike . It works as a miniature selfie stick in a jiffy, too. If you have room in your luggage, though, an actual selfie stick might be worth bringing, as well.

Q: What Travel Accessories Do I Need?

When you're traveling, you must have all the accessories you need to keep your tablet or laptop functional. You'll need to consider portable chargers, external storage, and other accessories that make traveling a lot easier. There are some commonly handy devices to keep with you, like a mobile hotspot, wireless headphones, and an external mouse and keyboard.

Q: How Can I Carry My Laptop While Traveling?

You'll need a decent and protective bag to store your laptop in while traveling. Ensure you find a bag that's suitable for storing a laptop in, so it doesn't move around when you're traveling. You'll also need to consider additional storage compartments for chargers, cables, and your other devices.

Q: Are Travel Accessories Repairable?

Most travel accessories like cables, chargers, and hard drives come with a manufacturer's warranty. If your travel accessories stop working or don't work in the first place, be sure to check the instruction manual to ensure you've set up your accessories correctly. Many travel accessories are affordable, so if they break while traveling, you can easily replace them.

These days, savvy adventurers take much more than sunscreen and a passport when traveling. To stay connected while you are away, cell phones, tablets, and even laptops are becoming must-have accessories for travelers. Travel cameras are also becoming a part of an essential traveler’s kit. This means lots of cables and accessories to keep organized.

Keeping your electronics safe and organized makes it much easier to carry these items with you, and for this reason, a well-designed organizer is worth its weight in gold.

What To Look for in an Electronic Travel Organizer

Before you invest in an organizer for your electronics, consider the following:

Cable organizer size

The organizer you choose should be a useful addition to your luggage. If it is bulky, heavy, or simply unsuitable, forget about it. The more gear you have, the larger the organizer you will need. While not particularly heavy on their own, organizers stuffed full of devices, chargers, and other accessories can weigh your travel backpack down before you’ve even left for your trip.

Bottom Line: Choose an organizer that is large enough to carry everything you need, but not so big that it has wasted space in it.

Cable organizer pockets

Designed with one job in mind, to keep your gear organized while you travel, the number of pockets and compartments your organizer offers should align with the amount of equipment you need to carry.

Most of the better electronics organizers will have a decent amount of pockets, slings, and holders that are designed to carry SD cards, cables, batteries, adapters , headphones , and other necessities, and may even have dedicated spaces for your passport or boarding cards, too.

Bottom Line: While pockets are essential, you shouldn’t have so many that you can’t shut the organizer, or make it so bulky that it won’t fit in your travel backpack. Take only what you need with you, and find an organizer that will keep it safe and tidy.

Cable organizer material

You would choose a new backpack or suitcase with longevity in mind, so you should apply the same rigorous standards when looking for an electronic travel organizer. Organizers come in a variety of materials, including canvas, leather, nylon, and even plastic, and it’s your choice as to which one you prefer.

Bottom Line: Choose a material that has water-resistant qualities to keep your gear protected from spills or bad weather, and that is strong enough to avoid rips or tears, but lightweight enough to not weigh you down.

The 3 Best Semi-hard Electronic Travel Organizers

Taking your laptop on your next trip? Don’t forget the extras! We’re not just talking about the power cord, especially if you’re headed overseas — computer accessories you may need to pack include converters, adapters, wireless Internet cards, Ethernet cables, surge protectors and, of course, a sturdy carrying case.

This list may seem overwhelming, but most of these laptop accessories serve one of two purposes: to provide a power supply for your computer or to connect it to the Internet. Which of these accessories will you need? Read on to find out.

1. Electrical Converters and Adapters If you’re traveling overseas, you’ll need to consider international differences in voltage, and then deal with the different sizes and shapes of the plugs. The United States and Canada use 110-volt electricity, while most of the rest of the world runs 220 – 240 volts. While this is an issue for many appliances such as hair driers or camera chargers, most modern laptops are capable of running on both 110- and 220-volt currents. Check the label and/or owner’s manual on your computer to be sure. If your computer only runs on 110 volts, you’ll need to purchase a converter to prevent damage to your machine.

Even if you don’t need a converter, you will most likely need an adapter to enable your plug to fit into the local outlet. Almost every country has one or more adapters that may be unique or that it shares with a few close neighbors. For more information on converters and adapters, see our story on Electricity Conversion .

2. Connecting at Your Hotel: Wireless Notebook Cards to Ethernet Cables Most hotels geared toward business travelers offer some form of Internet access, whether it’s high-speed or wireless. Call ahead to determine what will be available so that you know what equipment you’ll need to bring with you. Here’s a rundown of the options:

Wireless Internet: Often called Wi-Fi, wireless Internet access is growing increasingly common around the world, especially in hotels that cater to business travelers. If you have a relatively new laptop, you may not need to bring any equipment at all — practically all modern machines have wireless network adapters already built in, so all you have to do is plug your computer in and it will search out the nearest wireless signal. (Most hotels will require a password to access their signal — ask at the front desk.)

If your laptop doesn’t have an internal wireless network adapter, you can buy a wireless notebook card from any computer supplier, such as Best Buy or CompUSA.

High-Speed Internet: Some hotels require you to plug into their high-speed Internet connection using an Ethernet cable. We recommend bringing your own cable just in case, as the hotel may or may not able to supply one for you. To connect to a high-speed network, you’ll need a network interface card (NIC), which most laptops have already installed. If yours doesn’t, you can purchase one from your local computer supplier.

3. Connecting on the Road: Mobile Broadband Card If you’re equipped for wireless Internet, you’re in luck — you can find Wi-Fi hot spots in airports, coffee shops, libraries and many other facilities around the world. While you’ll usually have to pay for this service, sometimes you’ll luck out and find a free hot spot. For more information, read How to Find Better Travel Wi-Fi .

If you’re traveling within the U.S., you may be able to connect to the Internet through your cell phone provider’s network — you just slide a mobile broadband card into your laptop and then you can surf the Web from anywhere your cell phone provider has service. There’s usually a monthly charge, and you’ll have to purchase the card from your cell phone provider. Plans are available from most major cell phone providers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

4. Surge Protection You have a surge protection electrical strip on your desktop computer; you should have the same for your portable. In countries where electrical delivery is less reliable, this is all the more important. You’ll need one for whichever voltage you’ll be using; surge protectors for 110- and 220-volt currents are not interchangeable.

5. Carrying Case No matter how careful you are carrying your computer around, it’s going to take a few hits while you scurry around airports, hop in and out of airport shuttle buses, pile stuff into overhead bins, or fall asleep slumped over your work on the plane. A sturdy padded carrying case can save you a lot of aggravation and even more money.

6. Optional Extras It’s a good idea to bring along a device onto which you can back up your work, just in case your hard drive crashes while you’re away. We like flash drives, which are smaller than a finger and plug directly into your USB port, but you can also back up your work onto CD’s as long as your computer has a CD burner.

Many people like to pack a mouse and portable keyboard to make long-term work on a laptop more comfortable. It may also be worth packing an extra laptop battery just in case you find yourself away from a power source for a long period of time.

Where to Get Everything You’ll Need Magellan’s is a respected, reputable source for a wide variety of travel accessories such as converters, adapters and computer carrying cases. However, you may need to go to a computer store such as Best Buy or an online retailer such as Amazon for more specialized equipment such as wireless notebook cards or Ethernet cables. –updated by Sarah Schlichter and Mike Ostrich

2. Portable Monitors (and maybe a laptop stand)

travel computer accessories

When working with my office machines, I use 2 screens, and I didn’t realize how much I had come to rely on this until I’m working on the road. That is why I love my Desklab portable monitor . Add a laptop stand to that mix and you have an-on-the-go workstation in your hands.

A portable external monitor is a secondary display that you can use with your laptop to work comfortably, enhance your gaming experience, and so much more. A portable monitor is different from a standard one because it’s usually smaller and lighter, making them perfect for travel and working on the go, especially if you are creating videos ! On the other hand, a laptop stand is that last piece of the ergonomic workspace puzzle that ensures you’re comfortable and well-positioned at the perfect angle while writing anywhere you are.

Most second monitor devices will have a variety of ways to connect including USB-C, HDMI port and more which means most laptops won’t have a problem connecting.

I use mine for small group presentations and video editing, and I also like to connect it to my phone to watch videos and Netflix while in a hotel room or on a plane .

Want to know a bit more? Be sure to check out my post where I round up some of the best portable monitors with helpful buying tips and quick reviews.

3. USB C Ports

uni USB C to USB Hub Multiport Adapter, Aluminum 4 Ports USB C Splitter for Laptop, Slim Thunderbolt...

A new laptop, especially the smaller ones that is great for travel, or cheap laptops for blogging , will normally have fewer ports. My Dell XPS 13, for example, just has 2 USB C or Thunderbolt ports, which means that a USB C Hub is the perfect travel companion. It has everything you need to stay connected and charge your devices while on the go.

A USB C hub will plug into a laptop’s USB C port to expand its connectivity, most will allow you to plug in up to 3 devices at once, including cables for two USB C ports, a microSD card reader, an ethernet cable, and one HDMI port cable, so you never have to worry about running out of power again. However, there are plenty of choices for configuration, so be sure to get one that suits your needs. Plus, a USB C hub is usually small enough that it fits easily into any bag or purse – no more bulky adapters!

This under-$20 Amazon find has completely upgraded my in-flight entertainment experience. When I fly, I usually watch movies or downloaded videos on my iPhone so I can continue to use my noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones. This means I’m usually rotating between holding my phone in my hand and (unsuccessfully) propping it up on the tray table. This pocket-size phone mount clips onto the top of your seat tray table and perfectly holds your phone in place so you can watch movies, TV shows, or podcast videos hands-free. It features 360-degree rotation, allowing travelers to view their screen vertically or horizontally. The 1.5-inch clamp can be attached to tables, desks, gym equipment, and a variety of other surfaces. While I originally purchased this carry-on essential to use on airplanes, I’ve also attached it to my luggage handle while waiting to board a flight and on a train ride from Lucca to Florence. —Meaghan Kenny, associate commerce editor

If you've been on a group trip, you know the struggle of trying to get ready when there are too few mirrors available compared to the amount of folks in the house or hotel room. Eliminate the hassle with a portable travel mirror, like this fold-out option available on Amazon. It shifts to varying heights, has three light settings (warm, cool, and natural daylight), and folds up flat, weighing less than a pound.

Associate commerce editor Meaghan Kenny calls this small wireless device “a complete game-changer—I'm never going back to the days of dry hotel rooms and dehydrated skin post flight.” She's found that sleeping with it, both at home and on the road, leaves her skin less dry and helps her to wake up feeling more refreshed. It's easy to use, too: “For as compact as the humidifier is, it can still fit 11.3 ounces of water—more than enough needed for a continuous cool mist throughout the day or night.”

Sure, many totes , backpacks , and small duffels now come with a trolley sleeve to secure it to a suitcase handle, but when you find yourself using a bag without that little sleeve, keeping your things together and upright becomes a balancing act. A Cincha travel belt is the workaround: It slips over your suitcase handle, then wraps around most any bag like a seatbelt, with adjustable straps to tighten or loosen as needed.

travel computer accessories

There’s nothing worse than getting onto an airplane and your wireless headphones not connecting to the seatback entertainment system. That issue is easily averted with this wireless audio transmitter and adapter . The small device pairs to your headphones via Bluetooth and then plugs into the tiny TV on the airplane so you’re never without entertainment on long-haul flights . I keep this Amazon gadget in my pre-packed go-bag, then charge it the night before I fly so I know it's fully charged before heading to the airport. Even better is that the device can pair with two sets of headphones, so if I'm traveling with someone we can both watch the same movie at the same time.

Portable Stand.

Gimbal stabilizers come in a variety of sizes and price points. If you’re testing the waters with the smartphone travel accessory , you may want to consider this under-$50 option. The anti-shake, one-axis stabilizer allows you to capture smooth videos and crisp photos of your travels without having to think about keeping your hands perfectly still and balanced. One perk of this particular stabilizer is that it doesn’t have a corresponding app that you need to use to make the device work, so you can just pop your phone onto the handle and go. At just 7.5 inches and less than half a pound, the stabilizer can fit easily into your day bag without weighing it down.

Drink Caddy.

We’ve all experienced those long, twisty lines at the airport coffee shop that take longer than expected and leave you rushing off to your gate, juggling an iced coffee and your phone, all while somehow wheeling your carry-on bag behind you. Make that scenario a memory of the past with this luggage cup holder. The hands-free pocket slips over the handle of your luggage to hold up to two drinks and your phone. The adjustable cup holder has a Velcro opening that can be tightened or loosened to fit your suitcase handle and stay securely on your luggage as you traverse the airport. I keep this in my go-to personal item at all times, that way I know where it is before I head to the airport. Even better, if I do somehow spill a drink when using this, the cup holder is completely machine washable; I’ve throw it in with a load of towels to keep it clean.

travel computer accessories

If you’re headed somewhere warm, be it a theme park or Europe in summer, one of the best travel gadgets to bring along is a mini handheld fan. This VersionTech handheld fan is my absolute favorite of all of the ones I’ve tried. It charges quickly with an included USB charger (you can also use any micro-USB cords you're already packing), and has three speeds to keep air moving and keep you feeling refreshed. The handle of the fan can be folded back to allow it to sit on a table if you stop for a meal or coffee, or find yourself on a hot bus or train. I always have this in my backpack or fanny pack in the summer—when I whip it out and have a cool breeze blowing across my face, my travel buddies are instantly jealous that they don’t have one too.

travel computer accessories

Keeping your phone charged while traveling through airports can be difficult—not every airport has charging ports integrated into the seats at the gates, and most of the time people are huddled around the one or few outlets near the gate. I love this phone charging passport holder because I can charge my phone with an included power bank, and it has an integrated cable holder, and elastic bands to keep my phone in place as I traverse the airport. I also appreciate that the holder has a space for your passport and RFID blocking credit card slots for added protection.

A steamer.

No matter how meticulously you pack your clothes, pieces always end up wrinkled and looking like you slept in them on the other end. That problem is easily solved with this handheld garment steamer . The small electronic device weighs in at just under two pounds, so it won’t add much weight to your luggage. The steamer takes just 35 seconds to heat up, and has a removable water tank that’s easy to fill and an adjustable steam head so you can get wrinkles out no matter how your clothes are hung up. Leave this at home if you’re headed on a cruise, though; these portable steamers are not allowed on any cruise line.

Whether you’re traveling internationally or domestically, having a travel adapter is always a good idea. The universal adapter allows you to plug in your devices to outlets, no matter what country you’re in. There’s also a built-in surge protector and two USB ports so you can charge your phone or watch without having to unplug something bigger like hot hair tools or a laptop.

There’s nothing worse than misplacing something or finding out that your luggage got lost in transit on the way to your hotel or Airbnb. With an Apple AirTag , you can have constant eyes on your belongings, even if they aren’t technically with you. The tiny puck-like devices pair with your iPhone or iPad and use geolocation to let you know where your belongings are. I like that I can check on the location of my luggage, purse, or whatever else I've dropped an AirTag into with the Find My app. This is especially helpful after a plane lands and I want to be sure my luggage made it to my final destination.

travel computer accessories

Is there anything worse than checking into a hotel room and tossing and turning all night because of loud noises from neighbors or city streets? With this portable white noise sound machine, you can easily drown out the sounds of people, cars, or snoring companions. The machine has three sound options, and multiple volume settings so you can find the option that’s best for you. And because it’s so small at just 3.5 inches in diameter, it can fit in a backpack or carry-on bag with ease.

travel computer accessories

An electric handheld luggage scale is without a doubt one of the best travel gadgets, especially if you’re prone to overpacking and always have a checked bag at the airport like me. The handheld scale uses a strap to attach to the outside handles of your suitcase. Then you simply pull up with both hands using even force for the scale to display how much your luggage weighs. This is my easy way to avoid overweight fees or having to open my luggage on the airport floor to take things out and squish items into my backpack before racing off to my gate.

travel computer accessories

After flying through the friendly skies and making your way to your perfect vacation destination, your phone is likely showing that annoying red battery indicating that it’s almost out of power. With this wireless portable charger , you never have to get below 10 percent charge again. The charger can support wireless charging or charging with a connecting cable and can support Apple and Android products. iPhone users will be glad to know that with one full charge of the power bank, the device can charge an iPhone 12 at least eight times.

Keeping your personal information safe should be a top priority while traveling. One easy way to do that is with an RFID-blocking wallet, so skimmers in the pockets of nefarious patrons can’t get your credit card info just by walking by you. The wallet has multiple slots for credit cards, plus two zip pockets that are great for coins and paper money. Everything is further protected with a snap that covers both zippers and keeps the wallet closed.

travel computer accessories

Another popular travel wallet option: the Slim Mint ultra-thin RFID-blocking wallet. The compact case can hold cash and whatever essential cards you need on you—credit cards, hotel room keys, metro cards—so that they are easily accessible. When empty, it weighs just 3.2 ounces.

  • Avoid networks that require you to download adds-on or software. Such practices are common for hacking and accessing someone’s sensitive data.
  • Never leave your gadgets unattended. Even if you believe the airport is super secure place to store products, you may be deeply mistaken.
  • Do not do online banking with open Wi-Fi. Especially, it concerns any shops located on the train stations or cafes in terminals.
  • Do not allow unknown people to borrow your laptop bags for carrying their items, especially during the registration, and customs. You cannot know what they will put inside, and in case the officers find any controlled substance or narcotics, you are in big trouble. And, do not hope to find excuses.

At last, remember that any supplies you buy from online distributors should be comfortable in size. For example, with StartMyHobbyTrip, there are dozens of tiny items. Thus, there won’t be any issues when taking your gadgets on board. Keep an eye on your things, and a trip will be without frustrations at live enhanced.

Must-Have PC Travel Accessories

Anyone who travels with their PC will want to get their hands on these amazing accessories!

Using a PC is one of the most powerful ways to interact with a screen. However, there is a reason they aren't called "mobile" devices, as they're generally stuck in one place. Traveling with a PC takes dedication and effort and is usually only done with purpose, such as at a gaming convention, work site, or during a move. People worry too much about messing up their favorite CPU , monitor, or other gear to travel with their PC regularly. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be so tricky, and companies are largely aware of the stress associated with traveling with a PC. Some have even looked to make the experience enjoyable.

Typically, PC travel accessories come in the following flavors: Desktop tower carrying cases, keyboard/mouse carrying cases, monitor carrying cases, and specialized equipment to use specifically while traveling. While many of the larger tower carrying cases have storage compartments for other items travelers often carry, there are also products designed for specialized uses, such as USB/cord organization cases and specialized mouse compartments. Mixing and matching products based on the gamers' personal traveling needs is recommended.

CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case

Trunab computer desktop tower carrying case, curmio rolling desktop computer carrying case, kemove x keyboard travel case, nuphy air 75, logitech g305 lightspeed gaming mouse, rlsoco hard case, anker soundcore vr p10 wireless earbuds, curmio 24-inch monitor carrying case, waterproof cable organizer bag, gamesir g7 se wired controller for xbox.

The CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case is a solid carrying case for any PC tower and has room for other PC peripherals, such as keyboards and headphones. Additionally, it thinks about the smart parts on the inside of a tower by providing 6-sided protection and reduced bumping and sliding.

  • Reinforced Padding
  • Bump and Slip Resistant Bottom
  • Room for Additional Accessories

The CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case is the perfect standard PC tower carrying case for typical users. It provides a snug, rectangular interior that fits the shape of most PC towers, as well as double-layered cushioning to make sure the precious motherboard and awesome graphics cards aren't getting jostled about too much. When moving about, the CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case can be carried by a soft, reinforced hand grip and an optional shoulder strap. Need to rest? Putting a PC down on the ground won't be troubling either, as this case includes anti-slip feet pads and an optional bottom pad (that goes inside the case) to reduce bumping even more. Of course, this comes with the slight downside of not having wheels, but it is hard to have excellent vibration dampening and wheels on the same device.

The CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case also provides room for other PC parts and peripherals. For example, the rectangular compartment up top will be great for a keyboard (if the keyboard can fit on top of the desktop, it should fit) while the other side compartments can take a mouse and headset. They're all encased in double-layered softness as well. Ultimately, the CURMIO Double-Layer Carrying Case comes together to act as a luggage container for a very special co-traveler.

The Trunab Computer Desktop Tower Carrying Case is a PC tower carrying case in backpack form. Users can carry any PC tower and accompanying accessories by back or use the top handle to carry it like any other luggage compartment.

  • Chest Support Strap
  • Option to Carry
  • Additional Spots for Accessories
  • Limited Padding
  • Rough on Back for Long Trips

The Trunab Computer Desktop Tower Carrying Case is a great carrying case alternative for those who need to keep their hands free for all their other luggage. In addition to the traditional handle, gamers can also stick their arms through hoops to carry their PC along with them, backpack style. There's even a connector strap to give users more support. It has a large interior that supports even the largest PC towers or pre-built PCs , with additional room for accessories. But don't get too excited; users will still need to carry the products on their back.

Naturally, Trunab understands that gamers probably won't want to carry a PC on their back for a lengthy amount of time. As a result, the Trunab Computer Desktop Tower Carrying Case works excellently as a handle-carried case as well. It even comes with anti-slip feet and a bit of padding. It can be the best of both worlds for those who plan right.

The CURMIO Rolling Desktop Computer Carrying Case is a PC tower carrying case that acts like an airport luggage case. It has an extendable handle and wheels for easy rolling.

  • Adjustable Handle Height
  • Double-Lined Interior
  • Space for Other Accessories
  • Still Best to Carry Over Gravel, Rough Surfaces

The CURMIO Rolling Desktop Computer Carrying Case is perfect for flights or taking a PC up to and out of the hotel. Like many standard luggage compartments, it has wheels on the bottom and an extendable handle. In this way, users can roll it — and the PC tower — together to make it to their destination easily. In addition to the main, softly double-lined compartment for the PC tower, users will find similarly soft and double-lined compartments for other PC products. In this case, gamers will want to load up as much as possible — keyboard, mouse, headset, headphones, even a toothbrush — as the CURMIO Rolling Desktop Computer Carrying Case's wheels make everything feel lightweight and easy to move.

Unfortunately, the CURMIO Rolling Desktop Computer Carrying Case is not for every situation. Due to the nature of how wheels and surfaces work, the PC inside might still go through a rather bumpy ride if it goes over the wrong surfaces, such as gravel or cobblestone. Even rough concrete can cause a certain amount of bumpage or rattling. Luckily, there is still a comfortable handle to use in these situations. That being said, this PC tower carrying case is a bit more expensive than others — primarily due to its rolling nature — so for those gamers who aren't going to get maximum usage out of the wheels, it's an easy skip. However, if the route will take advantage of the wheels to maximum effectiveness, it could be worth every penny. It all depends on the gamer's unique situation and needs.

DIERYA's KEMOVE X Keyboard Travel Case is the perfect choice for traveling with a 60% or 65% mechanical keyboard. It is made of a combination of soft nylon fabric and a hard EVA shell to offer maximum protection.

  • Hard Outer Case
  • Inner Strap to Reduce Movement
  • Optional Shoulder Carrying Strap
  • Won't Fit Wide Keyboards

Moving a mechanical keyboard from one place to another can be a bit stressful. After all the time spent carefully putting customized keys on a mechanical gaming keyboard , the thought of getting it banged about in a backpack is just a no-go. To keep a keyboard safe, try the KEMOVE X Keyboard Travel Case. It provides a cushioned interior with a hard EVA case to provide the perfect combination of soft padding and tough shell that an excellent keyboard deserves. There is even an internal strap to "buckle" the keyboard in and prevent extra shaking about. There's also an additional mesh compartment for a couple of small cords, spare caps, or whatever else can be needed.

The KEMOVE X's interior dimensions are 11.8" x 3.9" x 1.4" and are designed around being compatible with 60%-65% mechanical keyboards. This is worth noting for gamers looking for a keyboard case for a long move. For travel, however, the KEYMOVE X will suit most needs fine and help gamers make conscious decisions about how much they need on their travels.

The NuPhy Air75 is an ultra-thin keyboard made for people on the go who don't want to compromise their typing experience. Measuring only 16mm thick, this keyboard is unlike most mechanical keyboards on the market. The Air75 aims to be the first thing people think of when they hear "thin keyboard".

  • Incredibly lightweight
  • Works with up to 3 devices (including PC, tablet, and smartphone) simultaneously
  • Difficult for those with Extra Large Hands

For those gamers who want a keyboard that is easy to pack even without a case, look no further than the NuPhy Air 75. This ultra-thin keyboard measures only 16mm thick and does not compromise the typing experience. The NuPhy Air75 is a mechanical keyboard with red, blue, or brown low-profile mechanical switches, but it is also fully hot-swappable, so gamers who want to customize it and make it their own can easily do so.

As far as gaming on this keyboard, it is an absolute delight. There are three ways to connect it: wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. Most gamers will probably want to use the wired or 2.4GHz wireless option because Bluetooth is not quick enough for fast-paced gaming. However, the Bluetooth connection is excellent when gamers are in a pinch or want to connect it to their tablet. By default, the Air75 only comes with the keyboard, but for those who plan to travel with this keyboard, a folio carrying case can be added on for an extra $19. This folio case won't just protect the keyboard from bumps and scratches, but it also doubles as a tablet stand.

With up to 250 hours of battery life, the Logitech G305 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse will outlast almost any wireless mouse. At the same time, the mouse's HERO sensor is rated at up to 12,000 DPI, so gamers sacrifice little when opting for this more portable, budget-friendly mouse.

  • Up to 12,000 DPI
  • 1,000 Hz polling rate
  • Incredibly long battery life
  • No Bluetooth connection option
  • Have to replace AA battery there is no way to recharge it via cable.

Mice are typically smaller and will fit into most bags or cases regardless of the size of the mouse, so finding one that is good for travel is generally easier than most accessories. But where the Logitech G305 makes the case for itself as the best travel gaming mouse is the price and impressive battery life. Unless gamers are traveling for an e-sports competition and can not give up their favorite gaming mouse, carrying around an expensive top-of-the-line mouse might not be the best idea. The G305, however, is typically below $50 and is okay if it gets banged up or tossed around a bit.

When traveling, gamers will not always have access to a typical gaming desk setup, so having a wireless mouse will reduce the need for a clear path for the cable. Of course, with a wireless mouse, it will need to be recharged at some point, but because the G305 is incredibly efficient, it has an extremely long battery life of 250 hours. If it does happen to die while traveling, users can replace the AA battery for another 250 hours of use instead of recharging.

The RLSOSO Hard Case is a mouse case that is designed for Logitech G Pro series and MX Master series mice. It will also support similarly sized mice from other manufacturers. The case has a hard shell with a soft coating, plus a nice interior strap to keep the mouse even more stable during travels.

  • Internal Strap to Reduce Shaking
  • Soft Interior, Hard Exterior
  • Basically Universal
  • Loop for Carabiner
  • Limited Internal Storage with Larger Mice

As some gamers seem to have a soft spot for Logitech gaming mice , it figures that they'll also need to transport them about. RLSOCO's hard case is designed with Logitech G, G Pro, and MX Master series mice in mind, although it can also carry any mouse under 5.5" x 3.9" x 2.0" in size, as it is truly universal.

The RLSOCO case features a hard EVA exterior that can keep a mouse from getting crushed and a soft interior that will keep it from getting banged about. There's even a "seatbelt" strap inside to reduce extra moving. With it ready to go, toss the small case in a bag or use the loop to carry it. Users can attach it to a carabiner or pop it on a keychain. This makes the RLSOCO mouse case an excellent choice for con-goers or LAN party attendees who expect to have a PC provided but want to bring their own special mouse.

The Soundcore VR P10 wireless earbuds are made to be used with the Meta Quest 2, but thanks to the under 30ms latency and USB-C 2.4Ghz dongle, these earbuds can be used for gaming regardless of the system. Plug in and play using the USB-C dongle to connect to Meta Quest 2, Steam Deck, PICO 4, PS4, PS5, PC, or Switch. And don't worry about running low on battery. The dongle has a pass-through charging port to keep gamers playing all day.

  • Excellent sound quality
  • USB-C dongle connection for ultra-low latency connection
  • Built-in microphone
  • Fairly short battery life

Gaming headsets make any gaming experience much more immersive and enjoyable, but most travelers won't have room for a full-sized headset in their bag. The Soundcore VR P10, on the other hand, offers incredible sound, a low latency wireless connection, and a built-in microphone, all in a tiny package that can fit in a pocket. The VR P10 are true wireless earbuds made for gaming with the Meta Quest 2, but thanks to the USB-C 2.4 GHz dongle, gamers can easily connect them to their PC.

These earbuds won't give the same surround sound experience that some gaming headsets offer, but they sound absolutely fantastic for their price and size. They have a feature called Super Hearing that boosts the bass in game, so it is easier to hear footsteps and shots. Plus, they can be used as regular Bluetooth headphones with a simple, understated look when not gaming.

The CURMIO 24-Inch Monitor Carrying Case is perfect for taking any monitor on the go. The 24-inch size is a great compromise for most gaming setups. This case completely covers the monitor and leaves room for the accompanying stand.

  • Lightweight
  • Don't Need to Remove Stand
  • Sturdy, 6-Clip Design
  • Limited Other Storage
  • No Stand Protection

The CURMIO 24-inch Monitor Carrying Case surrounds and secures a monitor as users travel with it. Unlike a lot of cases where the product it is meant to protect is inserted into the case, the CURMIO case initially appears as a sheet. By folding this "sheet" around the monitor and using the six provided clips, a 24-inch gaming monitor will be completely surrounded and protected. There's even a cutaway for the stand and a handle at the top. This means users can carry their monitor like any other piece of luggage and rest it on its stand when they stop moving. Not that gamers should expect to need to put the case down regularly, as it is only one pound.

While the CURMIO 24-inch Monitor Carrying Case boasts extra storage compartments, gamers will likely find that they are limited and don't offer the solid protection that more dedicated cable cases offer on this list. Additionally, the stand isn't afforded any protection from this setup, which can feel like an oversight. However, for those traveling with a PC and monitor and having any say in how they are handled, this will easily be the setup to go for.

The ORIENT FORMULAY Travel Electronics Waterproof Cable Organizer Bag is a great way to keep computer cables organized and untangled when travelling. Plus, there is even room for an iPad.

  • Carries All Small Accessories
  • Anti-Tangle Design
  • Can Store Tablets, Power Banks, Etc.
  • Water Resistant
  • Double Zipper Design Provides Entrance for Water

The waterproof cable organizer bag from ORIENT FAMULAY is a great way to carry a ton of USB, HDMI, and other connection cables that stick into a PC tower. Not only does it keep them organized and as tangle-free as possible, but it also keeps them safe from the elements with a water-resistant outer casing. While the double zipper design does leave an opening for water to enter during a deluge, being smart and keeping the zippers to the side should protect the wires and gear from most sources of harm.

Gamers will also find storage slots perfect for a power bank or an iPad, so if gamers happen to be using their vacation to get through a backlog of great iPad games , then the ORIENT FAMULAY bag will suit their needs well.

The G7 SE Controller is a licensed Xbox controller featuring Hall Effect sticks and tons of customization options. With two extra buttons and four on-board profiles, remapping the button layout is quick and easy. The GameSir Nexus app allows for further customization of the controller's haptic feedback and input sensitivity. The only Xbox controller to have Hall Effect joysticks, this wired controller is one of the most cutting-edge options available.

  • Only Xbox controller with hall effect sticks
  • Save up to four profiles
  • Extremely customizable
  • Long wire may be too unwieldy for some gamers
  • Only two extra buttons

A controller is always a great thing to have, even though most PC gamers prefer the accuracy of a mouse and keyboard. For those casual games or games like Dark Souls that are nearly impossible to enjoy on a mouse and keyboard, a portable and sturdy controller is an excellent thing to have. For this list, Game Rant has selected the GameSir G7 SE. The under $50 price tag for such high-end specs makes it a no-brainer for most PC and Xbox gamers alike.

Related: GameSir G7 SE Wired Controller Review

The main draw of the G7 SE is the Hall effect joysticks, which have become all the rage lately, with that no-good stick drift ruining everyone's day. Thanks to the Hall effect joysticks, gamers can easily throw this controller into a bag and not worry about having issues with it afterward. The only real downside of the G7 SE is that it is wired, but when traveling, it feels like everything needs to be recharged, so having one accessory that is only wired might be a relief.

How to choose good PC travel accessories

It's already pretty stressful thinking about having to move a PC around, so most gamers don't want to have to overthink getting the carrier as well. Don't worry, it's not too complicated!

Beyond simply picking out a carrier that fits the device , be sure to also look at the materials used to support the outside and inside, the ease of carry , and the shock absorption of the accessory.

While there are similarities between the carriage of a PC tower and the other components that come with computing, sometimes the needs and capabilities to do so are different. When these differences are significant enough, this guide will highlight those differences.

Materials — Inside & Out

The exterior of PC travel accessory bags is usually a soft, water-resistant material that is built tough to resist wear and snags. This soft material will help avoid pain from repeatedly bumping into the skin. Sometimes, smaller accessories skip this part and simply provide a harder exterior. This is because these carrying cases are meant to be put in a backpack or other carrying case and aren't so focused on protecting from the harshest outdoor elements.

Some cases have a hard layer to protect the device from crushing damage. This is more typical for smaller cases made for gamers' favorite mechanical gaming keyboard or mouse. Where PC towers already have a hard exterior shell, letter keys, and mouse buttons are more likely to take damage in transit.

The interiors are typically made up of nylon , a lightweight but strong material that is often used in luggage. Nylon is non-conductive , so it is often used in electronics products but can have some static issues. As a result, users may wish to carry their hard drives in a special carrying case .

Traveling with the best gaming monitor ? The form factor may be completely different. Monitors are more likely to be "strapped in" to a carrier than placed inside one. Still, the materials used will be similar. Need a new gaming pc entirely? Check out Game Rant's list for the best gaming PCs !

Ease of carry

There are several carrying styles used by PC travel accessories. Factor in stature, strength, and predicted walking distances when evaluating a carry style for PC accessories. Also, if traveling with other stuff (clothes, etc.), don't zero in so much on carrying a PC that the essentials like clothes are forgotten. In any event, here are the likely things most gamers will encounter and what to know about each one:

  • Handle: The most basic style of carriage. Since the materials in a carrying case are usually quite light, that won't be an issue, but the PC tower on the inside might add quite a lot of weight. Be sure the handle is made of a comfortable material.
  • Backpack Loops: Backpack style carriage is nice for saving a hand, but can have other issues. Typical school backpacks push the books down, keeping a low center of gravity, where PC tower backpacks tend to go high and raise the center of gravity. Shorter, lightweight people may struggle with this type of case.
  • Handle and Wheels: The best carrying style for avoiding dealing with heavier weights. If traveling over gravel or uneven surfaces, it is still advised to carry off the ground to avoid unnecessary jostling.

Shock Absorption

The final piece of the puzzle is shock absorption. The soft interior takes care of part of it, but that doesn't account for the whole story.

Interior shock absorption is aided by straps, tightening belts, and (if the travel accessory is meant to hold multiple components) having separate compartments for each component. Foam inserts and choosing a carrying case that fits snuggly around a PC tower further help. Cases for mice and keyboards are typically aided by elastic straps , but be on the lookout for product-specific cases for gamers who have a particularly popular product.

As for the exterior, check the bottom of the case . Shock-absorbing feet aren't on all the best PC travel accessories, but they are a welcome addition when available.

Q: How do I pack my computer for travel?

How to pack your computer for travel depends heavily on the distance you are traveling, the components you have, the means of transport, and your personal risk tolerance. If you are expecting heavily bumpy traffic, it could be advisable to remove HDD storage and place it in anti-static casing. You may also wish to re-insert any foam that came with the PC during initial shipping back into the tower, as it is likely to fit perfectly, or try using your own PC-safe material. Put the PC in a PC tower carrying case for travel and try to place it on a spongy surface in your car or other means of transport. All PCs and trips are different, so readjust as necessary.

Q: Can I carry my PC in flight?

According to the United States' Transport Security Administration (TSA) decision about desktop computers in flight , you can bring your PC with you on a plane in your carry on bags or fly it via your checked bags. You should note that you'll need to remove your PC from the carry-on bag to have it run through X-ray screening. For this reason, it is best to use simple packaging — such as a PC tower carrying case — whenever possible. As the TSA warns that the officer on duty has the final say on whether a PC is allowed onto the plane, contacting your local airport with any questions about your specific case is highly recommended.

As someone who sits at their computer desk for well over 80 hours every week, I know how important it is to have the right desktop PC accessories. My computer peripherals need to be reliable, convenient to use, and built to last for a long time. There have been a few times in my life when I had subpar accessories and it made for very frustrating experiences that weren't rectified until I bought something better. These days, my colleagues and I get to review a lot of PC accessories, so I can easily let you know which ones are worth your time.

To save yourself potential headaches and the frustration of knowing you made a bad purchase, I've listed the very best desktop PC accessories available right now. If you want additional information on anything, click the included review link for each product to learn more. There's also a list of honorable mentions at the end if you want more recommendations.  BTW, if you have a feline friend in your house, you can check out my guide on how to cat-proof your computer .

Rebecca reviews laptops, computer towers, and monitors regularly. She built the desktop she currently works at during the day and spends time playing on her separate gaming PC in her free time. With over 80-hours spent at her computers each week, she understands the importance of having the best PC accessories.

The Quick List

Don't have a lot of time? Here's the quick list of the very best PC accessories you can get right now. You can get additional information further down on this page for each device.

Dell Ultrasharp Curved Monitor (U3425WE)

Thanks to its large 34-inch display, this curved monitor makes for the ideal multitasking screen. Picture quality is very good and it even has built-in KVM capabilities to connect it to more than one computer. Ample ports, tool-less assembly, a durable build, and adjustable stand all work together to make a fantastic computer monitor.

When it comes to comfort, responsiveness, and value for your money the Logitech MX Master 3S is a fantastic computer mouse. There are seven customizable buttons to work with your specific setup and it can be connected to multiple devices. Its great build feels more like a premium offering at a more affordable price point.

Logitech MK295 wireless mouse and keyboard.

This keyboard is responsive, feels good to type on, and has extra functions running along the top to add additional convenience to your PC experience. I also love that this keyboard offers a full number pad so you can easily enter in numeric data whenever necessary. Simply plug the included wireless dongle into your computer and you're good to go.

Logitech BRIO 4K

There are literally thousands of webcams on the market, but the Logitech BRIO 4K outshines them all. Crisp picture quality paired with excellent microphones makes it possible to show you off to great advantage during virtual meetings. You can choose 1080p Full HD at 30FPS or 60FPS as well as 720p HD at 30FPS, 60FPS, or 90FPS.

Razer Leviathan V2 Pro

It's a fact that many built-in computer speakers for monitors and laptops aren't that great. If you value the listening experience or want to jam out to your favorite music then the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro is what you want. It handles everything from high tones to deep bass beautifully and even has customizable RGB for extra fun.

Anda Seat Kaiser 3

This office chair stands out from others thanks to its built-in and adjustable lumbar support. Simply twist the knobs on either side to determine the depth and height of internal lumbar. Meanwhile, the magnetic pillow is soft and filled with memory foam. The sturdy design is built to last. Plus, you get to choose between faux leather or linen fabric material in various colors.

The best overall PC accessory

Dell Ultrasharp 34 Curved Monitor connected to ROG Ally.

1. DELL ULTRASHARP 34 (U3425WE)

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

The computer tower might be what does most of the work, but you as a user will spend countless hours staring at your computer monitor. As such, it's important to get a reliable one that offers good picture quality and customization options.

Earlier this year, I did our Dell Ultrasharp 34 (U3425WE) review , and I walked away very impressed by its physical design and picture quality. This is a curved, 34-inch WQHD IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time that doesn't require any tools to assemble. Just follow the included instructions that tell you to click everything into position and then put the display on your desk.

Overall, the Ultrasharp 34 offers great specs that make the display ideal for multitasking between different programs while doing office tasks, school work, or personal projects. I also love that the stand can be adjusted up and down as well as tilted and pivoted to get it in the best position.

When I ran colorimeter tests, the display produced 100% of sRGB, 88% of AdobeRGB, and 94% of P3. These are great results and show that the screen offers a good color range to show off videos and everyday programs well. Oddly enough, it doesn't support true HDR, but that shouldn't be a problem unless you're doing professional-level creative work or are specifically set on getting an HDR monitor.

An especially nice thing with this 34-inch display is that it has built-in KVM. In other words, you can connect the monitor to two separate systems and still use the same mouse and keyboard between the two without having to unplug or reposition anything. For instance, I connected the Dell Ultrasharp 34 to both my ROG Ally ( gaming handheld ) and my computer tower. There are plenty of ports to accomodate KVM functionality and everything runs smoothly. Just note that the included USB cables that come with the monitor are relatively short (around three feet) so you'll want to make sure you place this curved display relatively close to your rig or else get longer cables for it.

You'll also appreciate that the Dell Display Manager  program makes it easier to adjust display settings or set up KVM on screen. For me, this meant I didn't have to fumble around the backside of the monitor trying to press the right buttons. Altogether, the Dell Ultrasharp makes for a fantastic multitasking monitor.

The best computer mouse

Image of the Logitech MX Master 3S wireless mouse.

2. Logitech MX Master 3S Wireless

When you're looking at a best PC mouse list, you'll undoubtedly find that Logitech and Razer are prominent names. Razer especially has a place within the best gaming mouse arena, but when you're looking for a good office or standard mouse Logitech tends to be king. This being the case, it's no wonder that we at Windows Central love the Logitech MX Master 3S.

This mouse is extremely comfortable to use thanks to its ergonomic design. It also offers seven customizable buttons to help you be more productive in your various computer workflows. When my colleague, Zachary Boddy did their Logitech MX Master 3S review , they specifically said the mouse "feels like a premium product with great build quality," so you can rely on it to be a sturdy device.

The Logi Bolt 2.4GHz wireless dongle that comes with the mouse can be paired to multiple devices so you can easily use it between your laptop or computer without having to go through the pairing process each time. Overall, it's a fantastic mouse that responds to your movements and will let you navigate around your computer comfortably.

The best keyboard

Logitech MK295

3. Logitech 920-009814 MK295

When it comes to keyboard affordability and functionality, you really cannot beat the Logitech 920-009814 MK295. I should know since this is the keyboard I specifically use for my work (non-gaming) PC. Technically, this is a combo deal that gets you both a computer mouse as well as one of the best keyboards available, so it can get you everything you need if you want.

Additionally, the keyboard offers plenty of helpful functions buttons such as volume controls, an email button, a power button, and a calculator button to bring up various tools quickly. I also love being able to use a full-size number pad when working in spreadsheets or otherwise entering numerical data. All of the keys press in nicely and feel responsive when pushed. Plus, the Silent Touch design specifically allows the keyboard to operate more quietly for those who don't like clicky keyboards. It really is one of the best keyboards available now.

Something I love about this keyboard is that it only takes one wireless dongle for both the mouse and keyboard to function, so you don't need to take up more than one USB-A port on your desktop. You just want to make sure there aren't too many things in the way between the dongle and the keyboard or you might have connectivity issues. As far as battery life goes, Logitech says it lasts for roughly 36 months, and I believe it with how little I have to worry about replacing batteries in my own keyboard. You can count on it to last for a long time.

The best webcam

Logitech Brio 4k Webcam on desk.

4. Logitech BRIO 4K Webcam

As you can see from our Logitech BRIO 4K Webcam review , despite being a relatively older option it still remains one of the very best webcams available today. You'll be able to display yourself clearly and crisply in beautiful 4K Ultra HD up to 4096 x 2160p at 30FPS. Meanwhile, you can also choose 1080p Full HD at 30FPS or 60FPS as well as 720p HD at 30FPS, 60FPS, or 90FPS. Simply plug it in and it will start working.

Additionally, thanks to Windows Hello support, the camera can be used with facial recognition to sign you in quickly. Plus, you can feel more comfortable using the webcam since it has a privacy shutter to ensure you cannot be displayed when you don't intend to.

Another important aspect of the BRIO 4K Webcam is that it features great dual, omnidirectional speakers with noise canceling. As such, you can rest assured that your voice will carry clearly and distinctly as long as you are within a reasonable range from the microphone.

The best speakers

Razer Leviathan V2 Pro on a desk with Chroma RGB lighting

5. Razer Leviathan V2 Pro

While many monitors and laptops come with built-in speakers, you'll typically only get a good audio experience if you also use one of the best computer speakers with your setup. There are a number of excellent choices to choose from, but just taking a glance at our  Razer Leviathan V2 Pro review will help you see why this sound bar makes for my personal best pick.

The Leviathan V2 Pro utilizes head tracking to adjust audio settings to best provide whoever is sitting in front of it with the best listening experience possible. As you can imagine, this can help you better appreciate your favorite music tracks, in-game audio, or YouTube videos better. Many computer speakers do a good job with mid-to-high tones and aren't good with lower ones, but the Leviathan V2 Pro does an outstanding job of carrying everything from high pitches to bass tones with plenty of depth.

Plus, the sound bar's RGB lighting allows for customization from its 30 zones. You can basically get the colorful lighting to do whatever you want using Razer Chroma. It's a fun way to add a bit of splash to your desk. Of course, if you don't much care for RGB lighting or need to temporarily turn it off you can do that too.

Honestly, the only things to be aware of is that the Leviathan V2 Pro does require the use of two AC power sockets in order for it to function. So you'll need to make sure you have two available. Additionally, it doesn't have 3.5mm optical audio input for some reason. Still, if you're looking for powerful computer speakers that can add depth to your listening experience then this is the soundbar to get.

The best office chair

AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL gaming chair.

6. AndaSeat Kaiser 3

Over the years, I've tested a number of different office chairs, but the one I recommend most is the AndaSeat Kaiser 3. I specifically did my AndaSeat Kaiser 3 review at iMore before coming to work at Windows Central, but Sean Endicot who reviewed it for Windows Central also gave it a very high score. This is technically a gaming chair, but I've been using it at my work computer for the last two years and I recommend it to anyone looking for a new computer chair. It is a bit pricey compared to some other options, but it will also last you a long time while providing a much better-than-average sitting experience.

HP Omen PC

- Best gaming headsets - Best computer monitors - Best gaming monitors - Best Wi-Fi routers

I learned somewhat recently after talking with Dr. Matthew Hwu of 1HP that I was sitting in my office chair completely wrong and it was causing aches and pains. According to Dr. Hwu, adjustability is the most important factor for choosing an office chair and that's one of the reasons I recommend the Kaiser 3 so much. It has adjustable internal lumbar support, which allows me to set the height of the lumbar support as well as how much pressure goes into my back by twisting the knobs on either side of the chair. It's extremely comfortable when set to my specific preferences and helps me have better posture. Plus, it doesn't have an awkward back pillow like many other gaming chairs do. It really is one of the best office chairs as well as one of the best gaming chairs out there.

The 4D armrests can also be adjusted forward, backward, up, down, and pivoted to the sides. Pair armrest placement with the correct height and tilt of the chair base and you'll have the perfect positioning for your specific needs. I also love that the magnetic neck pillow attaches without a messy-looking strap and it's made of soft memory foam, which makes it very comfortable to rest against.

As for the main chair, you can choose whether to get it in L (holds up to 260 pounds) or XL (holds up to 365 pounds). Plus, there are a total of 11 different colors to choose from, but some are specific to material type. You get to choose between Premium PVC Leather, a soft Linen fabric, or a PU leather material. All three are soft and comfortable, but I especially appreciate the two faux leather options since they make the chair very easy to clean if something spills on them.

Like many shipped office chairs, the Kaiser 3 does require assembly, but illustrated instructions and the tools you need are provided in the box. You can easily get the chair set up within an hour or less. Once assembled, it's extremely sturdy and should last you for several years to come.

Dell Ultrasharp 34 Curved Monitor multitasking windows.

We at Windows Central are always very particular when doing any PC accessory reviews. As part of our evaluations, we test these peripherals to see how well they work and make note of any peculiar things people should know about. Our review process involves using the product for several hours to several days in order to get a complete understanding of that item.

The most important accessories for your desktop are a computer monitor, computer mouse, keyboard, webcam, speakers, and office chair. There are plenty of options out there to choose from, but the ones on this list are ones that we've personally used here at Windows Central and stand by.

Whenever I look for a new PC accessory, cost is always a factor. However, I also make sure that the device I'm looking for works properly, offers all of the capabilities I expect it to have, and is sturdy enough to last me for a while. It's in these ways that I highly recommend the Dell Ultrasharp Curved Monitor as the ideal computer display. Its curved design helps you see every part of the screen without turning your head too much and it has plenty of settings options to get the monitor set up the way you like.

Now, one of the most crucial computer accessories is actually an office chair. These can be very expensive. However, it's worth spending the money on a comfortable one that is built well rather than an office chair that will cause aches and might break down in a few months. My top choice is AndaSeat Kaiser 3, the chair that I personally have been using for the last two years. It has adjustable internal lumbar support, so you can set things specifically for your needs. Plus, it's made of quality materials, with a steel frame so it will last a long time.

Travel + Leisure

Taking any trip is amazing — but taking a trip with peace of mind? Even better. Safety is of utmost importance when traveling, but even more so when you’re solo or traveling through dense, packed cities that are known for pickpockets.

Thankfully, there’s a ton of effective travel safety gear out there that can make your time on the road just a bit more secure and comfortable. We identified 15 popular products that are gaining traction with travelers — and best of all, they’re all available at Amazon, so they’ll be shipped to your door with just a click, often in just a matter of days. Take comfort in knowing you’ve covered all your bases with your vacation planning, and enjoy your days off. That’s what a trip is all about, right?

She’s Birdie Personal Safety Alarm

If you’re traveling — and in particular, if you’re traveling solo — this T+L staff-trusted She’s Birdie personal safety alarm could be the most important thing you buy. A loud siren will play and a strobe light will flash when the safety alarm is set off, which is easy to do — just remove the pin from the top. To stop it or deactivate it, you just replace the pin. The alarm can be used multiple times and will continue for up to 40 minutes on one battery (batteries are replaceable). It comes in a ton of colors and attaches easily to your keychain or purse strap, etc. Plus, 5 percent of the profits are donated to organizations that focus on women’s safety.

Ace Mining Portable Door Lock

Add an extra level of protection to every stay with this Amazon No. 1 best-selling portable door lock. With this easy-to-install gadget, no one from the outside can get in, and you can rest (and sleep) easy knowing you’re safe and sound inside your Airbnb, hotel, or other home away from home. It can be installed in seconds, is small and easy to pack, and has two holes to fit pretty much any door. It’s made of stainless steel and will work time and time again.

Veger Portable Charger

There are few things more unsafe than letting your phone die, especially if you’re on your own. Make sure that doesn’t happen by keeping this portable charger juiced up and on hand. It’s an all-in-one charger, with an AC port and attached chargers for iPhone, Type C, and Micro USB, plus USB and USB C inputs so you can bring cords should you need. It’s perfectly thin and fits great in any tech organizer; just throw it in a bag or purse when you’re on the go.

StashBandz Unisex Running Belt

This running belt is great for everyday wear, keeping all your essentials on you while working out, but it also works great as a travel companion — stashing things like passports or keys out of sight while on the go. Especially great for areas that are heavy on pickpocketing, this undetectable money belt has stashable pockets, including a zippered front pocket. And with its extra-wide band, it can store quite a lot. It’s got moisture-wicking technology to keep things (a.k.a. you) from overheating, and is also great for holding medical gear.

Travelon Anti-Theft Bag

If you’re looking for a fantastic travel bag that’ll keep everything safe and secure, this is the one for you. It can be worn crossbody with an adjustable shoulder strap (for harder access for pickpockets and thieves) and also has an interior organizer with RFID-blocking material to protect your passports and credit cards. Even better, there’s a front zippered pocket under a magnetic flap for maximum security, a tethered interior key clip with an LED light, and locking zipper pulls.

Munio Self-Defense Keychain Kit

This self-defense tool that was created by a Martial Arts master and endorsed by police goes right on your keychain and can help in the event of an attack; keep it in your hand while walking and use the end to jab an attacker. The discreet design fits comfortably in your palm, and on the outside, it just looks like a decorative keychain. The company provides a free E-book and downloadable videos to show how to use the tool, and it is perfect for travel since it’s actually allowed on a plane.

TravelMore TSA-approved Luggage Locks, 4-pack

Not your average TSA lock, this one is sleek and well-designed, made with Zinc Alloy for extra durability. Lock them onto your luggage for security, while still being TSA-compliant (they can open and close them without issue). Because they’re so sleek, you can also use them for things like duffel bags, purses, and backpacks, making hiking, train travel, or going to high-trafficked areas more secure — basically a breeze.

Kidde Carbon Monoxide Detector

You’ve heard the horror stories of carbon monoxide poisoning on trips (and if you haven’t, save yourself the Google and just know that it’s real). This No.1 best-selling portable carbon monoxide detector is the perfect thing to keep in your luggage and set up as you unpack. It comes with two AA batteries and can be placed on any flat surface. “It’s so small we take it everywhere with us,” said one reviewer .

Homotek 2-Pack Wedge Rubber Door Stops

Another easy way to stop an intrusion before it happens is placing a door stopper underneath the hotel room or Airbnb door; this will help prevent or make it difficult to open the door from the outside. It’s also a great item for making sure doors stay open (and you stay safe), while doing routine things like taking out trash from an Airbnb or seeing what the rooftop views are from your rental.

Gorilla Grip Mini Flashlight

Yes, most of us have a flashlight on our phones — but that doesn’t quite help in the case of an emergency in which your phone dies. This mini flashlight will keep you cool and calm in any scenario, including navigating dark streets, figuring out power outages, and more. It’s also great to blind an attacker or use as a jabbing tool should the need arise. This one also features a strobe setting, which would be great for (god forbid) if you need to try and get someone’s attention. It’s made to sustain drops as well as water submersion and has an anti-slip handle.

LifeStraw Water Bottle

If you’re traveling to a destination where water could contain contaminants — or hiking, camping, and the like — you’ll want this water bottle. LifeStraw is known for its technology which filters out everything that could harm you (and obviously improves taste), and it’s been independently lab-tested to meet the protocols established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The filters last for lots of uses, and it’s easy to clean and super durable.

Thrive Mini First-Aid Kit

Don’t travel anywhere without a first-aid kit. Seriously. This one is super compact and easy to travel with and contains everything from antiseptic wipes and alcohol pads to gel burn packets and bandages. It also contains a first-aid guide that explains how to treat common injuries (ideal for when you don’t have technology right by your side). It’s an easy thing to throw and keep in your luggage trip after trip.

Apple AirTag

Where’s your suitcase? Where’s your purse? Where’s your wallet? With an AirTag, you will know exactly where everything is and how to get to it — perfect for not only keeping an eye (er, location tag) on things but also should something be stolen; you’ll be able to (hopefully) track it down (and alert authorities). It’s one of those things that you don’t know you need as much as you do until you have one.

FurArt Slim Wallet

With RFID-blocking technology, your credit cards and IDs are safe and sound from identity theft, and with its minimalist design, you can keep this on your body (instead of your bag or purse) should you want. This wallet also ensures you only take what you need on a trip, and you can leave the rest at home (or in a locked safe). It comes in a slew of colors and features a see-through ID pocket so you don’t even have to remove the ID, plus a buckle that you can hook to a keychain, carabiner, or lanyard.

Amazon Basics Portable Lock Box

This portable lock box will keep your valuables stashed, including passports, jewelry, keys, and more, and has both a combination lock and opening cable to use and lock how you wish. Most reviewers comment on how “ sturdy and solid ” this item is, and how it can fit a ton more stuff than you might think. It’s great for keeping in your carry-on and storing your valuables during a trip.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.
