Our Original Founder & CoFOUNDER in 2017

Deah berry mitchell.

I'm a fulltime Black culture historian and  writer residing in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.

A double graduate of Southern Methodist University, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself into other cultures. Currently pursuing my Ph.D. in history at the University of North Texas.

While vacationing in 2017, I had the idea to produce a bus tour that would combine my two passions: cuisine and local cultural history.

When I got back, I suggested to my friend and public relations manager, Dalila Thomas, that we partner together to produce this new concept.

In February 2018 we officially launched!

I relaunched the new and improved tours in April 2022 after pandemic restrictions were eased under my newly formed "umbrella" company - Nostalgia Black. Tourism is one of the services offered to amplify Black history and increase knowledge of cultural heritage and traditions. Currently pursuing my PhD in History, I am passionate about expanding our knowledge of local Black history.

I'm planning to expand into other test markets soon.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO Announce Final Tour: ‘Over and Out’

ELO

Jeff Lynne’s ELO have announced their final tour, dubbed “The Over and Out Tour.” The 27-date excursion, produced by Live Nation, will kick off in Palm Desert, CA on August 24 and travel across North America before concluding in Los Angeles on October 25.

Artist presale will begin on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. local time and the general onsale will start on Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. local time. Exclusive VIP experiences will be available March 20 at 10am local.

“A brilliant catalog returns to U.S. stages and gives the strings-starved people what they want,” Variety wrote of the group’s previous tour in 2018. “The ELO catalog speaks for itself… and it was a glorious thing to behold… in a 19-song set that reprised the closest thing to truly Beatle-level pop the 1970s had to offer.”

ELO — originally named the Electric Light Orchestra — was formed in 1972 by singers/multi-instrumentalists Lynne and Roy Wood and drummer Bev Bevan from the ashes of legendary rockers the Move, with the intention of fusing rock music with classical instruments. Wood left after one album and Lynne assumed leadership of the group — taking on lead singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist roles — which went on to score such massive hits through the ‘70s as “Evil Woman,” “Strange Magic,” “Living Thing,” “Can’t Get It Out of My Head,” “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Telephone Line,” “Don’t Bring Me Down” and more.

Lynne revived the ELO brand in 2001, with himself and longtime keyboardist Richard Tandy as the only remaining early members, for the album “Zoom” (featuring Harrison and Starr) and tour. He did so again in 2014 and has toured extensively and released two albums with the group, 2015’s “Alone in the Universe” and 2019’s “From Out of Nowhere.”

ABOUT GRUPO FIRME

The band was formed in Tijuana, Mexico on March 19, 2013, but has roots in Sinaloa. The members of the band are:

Eduin Caz – Vocals, Abraham Hernández – Second Voice, Joaquín Ruiz – Bajo Sexto, Jhonny Caz – Second Voice, Victor Zavala – Bass, Christian Téllez – Bass, José Rubio – Drums, Dylan Camacho – Accordion, Isael Gutiérrez – Manager. In February 2017, they  took a big step by teaming up with Mr. Isael Gutiérrez, president of the company Music VIP Entertainment Inc. By formalizing this alliance, they  took a fundamental and important turn in their career in every way. Coming from the underground corridos scene, they built that credibility with their fans, which is not easy for the public to accept. But as they evolved artistically, their audience embraced their versatile style in an incredible way. Today they have broken all sales records with sold outs all over the continent, in the USA, MX, and Central and South America. They have been able to live a dream thanks to music and to the people. They have broken all the barriers that supposedly existed in the music industry. 2023 has been a year of new horizons and a mandatory hiatus for the band, however in 2024 they are back, with all the energy and ready to conquer the biggest stages again.

What Could Cowboys Ex Michael Gallup Bring to Ravens Offense?

  • Author: Adam Schultz

In this story:

Baltimore Ravens

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup is slated to have a visit with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The six-year NFL veteran is looking to kickstart his career over a year after his ACL injury. Gallup, in his early years in the league, showed that he could be a viable No. 2 receiver, totaling 1,107 yards and six touchdowns in 2019 and 843 yards and five touchdowns in 2020.

But his ACL injury set him back, and his production has dropped each year since, to the point that the Cowboys couldn't justify his $13.8 million cap hit along with his $8.5 million salary for the 2024 season and decided to cut ties.

Now, with a visit scheduled in Baltimore, Gallup, like Odell Beckham Jr. last season, could be looking for an NFL lifeline to kickstart his career again. While the big contract is no longer out there, Gallup could simply be looking for a place to get his feet underneath him again.

If the Ravens were to sign Gallup, what would Todd Monken's offense be getting?

In short, a physical receiver whose strength is his contested catching and his ability to gain a lot of yards after the catch.

Gallup

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Gallup played nine games last season in which he averaged at least 10.0 yards per catch, his best output ironically being 17.2 in the Cowboys' playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, where he hauled in all six catches for 103 yards.

Additionally, Gallup had receptions of 27, 29, 41, 39, and 42 throughout the year, so the ability to get downfield was still evident; he just lacked consistent targets (just six times he had five or more in a game).

Gallup has shown he could consistently produce before his ACL injury, and despite his production falling with each passing season, Baltimore is perhaps the right landing spot.

Michael-Gallup-Cowboys

Cowboys Ex WR Visiting Baltimore Ravens

With only Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews as Lamar Jackson's top targets, coupled with a running game that now has Derrick Henry , Gallup could see some favorable matchups, and he has a quarterback who can exploit them.

Gallup might not be the player he once was, but he still has the physicality and ability to be a viable contributor to Monken's offense - he just needs the chance and in Baltimore, he might just get it.
