Used Golden Eagle for a company outing. We had such a great time! The water was calm, staff was friendly, and the fishing was good!

Been on this boat a few times this year, some trips better than others but the effort is always there. One time they sailed with only 9 people and wound up going 30 miles off to the Brooklyn/Queens area but found the fish and it ended up being a memorable day. Can't ask for more than that. Crew is top notch and the captain friendly and outgoing, even coming down on deck to joke around with us. Full galley is a plus too.

My boss recommended that I go on the Golden Eagle when I told him that I was taking some family and out of town friends fishing. We had the time of our lives and we learned things about the ocean, the New Jersey coast, and of course - FISHING! The mates Scottie and Antwan were extremely fast and efficient when things got hectic with several people reeling in fish at once. Those guys are top notch and were I'm instrumental in shaping one of the most memorable and fun times that we have enjoyed as a family. Thank you Scottie, Antwan, and Captain!

Nice to spend a day out at sea with the Golden Eagle guys! Captain is definitely a character, but very knowledgable about the ocean and fishing.

Great captains and friendly and fun deckhands. And the food that is freshly prepared for you in the galley is of restaurant-quality!

Best fishing boat I have ever been on. The captain always puts the boat on the fish and is not afraid to move around or go the distance to do that. He puts out very honest fishing reports every day. The mates are hard working and very friendly. They don't even let you touch the fish. They take them off the line and ask where you want them to put it. I've been on many party boats where the captains take you on a very slow ride then just stop telling you the fish are there when they are not. Then they take you on a very slow ride back to the dock.

Best boat and captaining your looking for a good day of fishing. Wouldn’t go on any other boat except the Golden Eagle. Best mates in the business.

Have fished with the Golden Eagle for a number of seasons and have always found the crew to be friendly and helpful! From time to time we have great days with our limit and once in a great while we get skunked, but it’s still a great day on the water! As they say, it’s called fishing not catching. Within an hour of NYC, Trenton, and Philly area, the Gambler dock is located at 59 Inlet Dr. Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.

I took my daughter and grandson on a charter. Arrived early as directed and given gear and instruction. The crew was capable, kind, patient and very helpful. Caught mostly sea bass (5 keepers). We loved the whole experience!

Sailed one morning with my two teenage daughters. Lots of people were catching "doormat" size fluke. We had some shorts that went back, some sea Robin and a mackerel. Caught a fair amount, lots of meat for dinner that night!

The crew and captains were all top-notch. They were there when you needed them and were always happy to help. I caught my first tuna ever on this boat and what an amazing experience. Thanks for an experience I’ll never forget!

Open boat trips are shared charters. They all start with 6 spots and as spots are filled, they become limited. The 12hr midshore trips target tuna only while the overnight trips have the chance to catch White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Mahi, Wahoo, Shark, Swordfish, & Tilefish. These dates ARE NOT the only dates available for charter. Text or Call Cody at 609-354-2734 for all available trips and dates. Location of departure is in capitals at the end. Cost displayed is for each person and does not include customary 20% tip. Overnight Trips will leave between 7am and 2pm typically, unless otherwise discussed. 12hr trips are scheduled to depart at 3am.

Fishing Jersey has been running for over 30 years. The vessel they have now is a brand new 10m catamaran. We have many species in our local waters, with Congers, Tope, Turbot, Brill, Bream, Ray's and Pollack. These are caught at different times of the year on their daily trips.

They cater for experienced, beginner or passengers just wanting to give it a go. Trips are all day or 3 hour evening trips. Evening trips are great for families. Booking can be as individuals or whole boat bookings.

What a great time! Very knowledgeable Captain, Friendly and informative he would let us know how long to expect between spots and what he would recommend as bait or lures. The galley offers cold drinks, chips a hot burger or breakfast sandwich! If you are in the area and looking for a fun time fishing, look no further, I would recommend the Miss Belmar Princess to all my friends. I look forward to fishing with these guys as often as I can get out there! Tight Lines!!

Really fun trip we traveled up the coast in search of striper. It took a little while to find them, but when we did everyone was reeling them in. We caught some pretty big fish and they put up a fight. Can't wait to go back and do it again.

The boat is clean and in good repair. The Captain and crew run a solid and safe operation. Also they were very helpful. I will definitely make this my go to fishing boat from now on.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
