According to a listing from Texas Ranch Sales, LLC ., the Franklin Drive-Thru Safari, located off Highway 79, the property not only comes with the over 240 acres, the wildlife park, a 5,000 square foot main home but it also comes complete with the animals!

^Remember that stupid movie that came out a couple of years ago called 'We Bought a Zoo'. If you thought to yourself, I would love to do that one day. Here is your opportunity. Over in Franklin, Texas The Franklin Drive Thru Safari has been operating for ten years. Guests have been enjoying the exoctic animals such as giraffes, zebras, and rhinos.

The property also features a reptile house and a bird house as well. The property consists of more than 240 acres with a 5,000+ square-foot main home built in 2020, a 3,200+ square-foot guest house, and seven cabins that can be rented out. There are also several homes on the property for employees and a foreman. In total, over 100 species of animals are on the property and they will be included in the sale.

The owners are willing to piece out the property in the sale. So if you just wanted the main house or the zoo part, they're willing to make a deal with you. Come on, you know you wouldn't want to not own the safari part. The safari currently operates where guests can pay a fee and just drive thru or they can get a private tour on a tram.

As of right now, the safari will remain open until further notice. So if you're in the Franklin, Texas area and wanted to go see some animals. Stop on by. I have no idea what the asking price is because that is not featured on the site . I would guess eight figures at least? What is the going price on a family of rhinos nowadays. Franklin Drive Thru Safari up for sale

The land, animals and buildings are all for sale on texas ranch sales, l.l.c..

FRANKLIN, Texas (KBTX) - The Franklin Drive Thru Safari located off Highway 79 in Robertson County was listed for sale by Texas Ranch Sales, L.L.C. on Friday.

The drive-thru safari has been open for over 10 years. Visitors could drive their own vehicle through the safari or request a private tour by an experienced animal caretaker. Guests could also play with different baby animals such as lemurs, armadillos and monkeys in the baby room, hand-feed animals like zebras and giraffes, or visit the reptile house that featured pythons, vipers and boas.

The property consists of more than 240 acres with a 5,000+ square-foot main home built in 2020, a 3,200+ square-foot guest house, and seven cabins that can be rented out. There are also several homes on the property for employees and a foreman.

A large gift shop will also be included along with a birdhouse, a reptile house, a 40′x60′ metal shop building, a 60′x100′ hay barn, an exotic barn, and catch pens. The more than 100 different species of animals that reside on the property will also be included in the sale.

According to Texas Ranch Sales, L.L.C. buyers will have the option to purchase all 240+ acres, purchase just the safari, or purchase the property in the back which includes the main house.

A representative for Franklin Drive Thru Safari said it is not closing and the current owners will continue their involvement in running the park.

Texas Safari is full of history. It has been in operation since 1975, making it the oldest wildlife park in Texas. The original log cabin, in which the original settlers lived in and fought Comanche Indians out of, was built in 1850 and is still on the property. 2 barns built in 1870 are also located on the land. The park sits on the historic Chisholm Trail, which was originally used by Indian hunting parties and later became one of the largest trails for Texas cattle drives.

Texas Safari is home to over 600 exotics, from antelope to zebra. We have many Pere David deer from China that are extinct in the wild but exist on facilities like ours due to world-class breeding programs. The Dama Gazelle, Scimitar Oryx, Lechwe, and the Grevy's Zebra are on the endangered list.

As a breeding facility, we strive to expand the population of endangered animals. Our mission is to maintain the wellbeing of each and every animal in our care. All proceeds from our cabin rentals go towards feed and veterinary care.

Franklin Drive Thru Safari listed for sale after Jason Clay’s wildlife trafficking indictment

The Franklin Drive Thru Safari in Franklin, Texas, has been listed for sale after owner Jason Clay was indicted on wildlife trafficking charges along with Doc Antle, owner of Myrtle Beach Safari who was featured in the Netflix show Tiger King.

Clay owns both Franklin Safari and East Texas Zoo and Gator Park in Grand Saline. Both facilities have been hit hard with U.S. Department of Agriculture violations after Roadside Zoo News brought awareness to the animal mistreatment.

Franklin Drive Thru Safari implicated in wildlife trafficking–again

The two roadside zoos have been cited with 35 violations of the Animal Welfare Act since June 2021. Animals were found with untreated wounds and dozens of animals had no access to water.

Some animals were so thin their backbone was showing. Two giraffes and a hippo had died “acutely and suspiciously” but no veterinarian had been contacted for the animals before or after their death.

The USDA found that Clay had trafficked or otherwise disposed of hundreds of animals without keeping any of the federally required records showing what happened to them, documents say.

One giraffe named Loki disappeared from the East Texas Zoo facility last year after the death of his companion, Azizi, and Roadside Zoo News has been unable to determine what happened to him.

Clay is under investigation related to a murder that occurred on his property across the street from Franklin Drive Thru Safari. He is on 10 years of felony deferred probation for withdrawing $187,000 from a disabled individual’s bank account without the man’s consent and for felony aggravated assault for violently beating a man in a bar brawl.

Clay was indicted in June along with Antle for wildlife trafficking charges. Antle is accused of trafficking lemurs, cheetahs and a chimpanzee with his partner Moksha Bybee, Clay, and Charles Sammut of Monterey Vision Quest in Salinas, California. They're also accused of creating false records for the animals.

In August, Antle began the process of selling his roadside zoo to his partner, China York. The USDA re-licensed the facility in York’s name in September. The Department of Justice wrote in legal documents that the sale would encumber property subject to seizure and would transfer ownership and control of the animals at issue in the lawsuit.

Clay has now listed Franklin Drive Thru Safari for sale.

According to the listing on Texas Ranch Sale , the 240 acre property in Roberston County houses 100 different species of animals.

Clay is offering various options for buyers. They can purchase all of the property, just the roadside zoo, or they can purchase just the property in the back, which includes the main house.

The asking price for the roadside zoo is not listed. It is unclear whether the sale will have an affect on Clay's federal charges.
