10 Stunning Places to Visit near Jaipur within a day
Introduction
Jaipur is renowned for its magnificent architecture and vibrant markets, as well as its beautiful handloom clothing and well-designed gardens. It’s not difficult to fall in love with Jaipur the moment you step off the plane. Jaipur is part of the Golden Triangle of Indian tourism, which also includes Delhi and Agra. Jaipur is a famous stopover destination for international visitors as well as domestic tourists. Also Jaipur is a fantastic starting place for those who want to travel to the interior of Rajasthan.
City Jaipur is named after Jai Singh II, the city’s founder. Unlike many other kings and emperors of his time, Jai Singh II was an accomplished astronomer as well as a formidable warrior. Inside are five floors designed very carefully. There are 953 ‘jharokhas’ made to allow the winds to pass into the palace and keep it fresh and breezy in sweltering summers.Being surrounded by the traditional market of Jaipur, you will find all the authentic pieces of souvenirs related to the culture and the history of Jaipur. The story of the birth of the palace started when Pratap visited Jhunjhunu and saw Khetri Mahal.Maharaj was impressed by the unique design of the Khetri Mahal, and that was when he decided to create a better version of it. Lal Chand Ustad designed this palace and ended up making one of the best monuments history has ever created. The primary purpose for creating this palace was to give royal women a separate place. From Hawa Mahal, they could enjoy the everyday lives and celebrations of the festival through the windows without being seen as they weren’t allowed to go out in public without a veil. The Hawa Mahal was a part of the main City Palace, and the royal family used to come here to escape the scorching heat as this palace was always cold and breezy due to the windows it has. From then on, it has been preserved to keep the glory and grace alive for the generations to come.Architecture of Hawa Mahal Jaipur - Hawa Mahal is an excellent example of Hindu Rajput architecture finely blended with Islamic Mughal architecture giving it the face it is famous for. It is made with red and pink sandstone along with white marble inside the palace. The look of the palace observed from the street looks extremely beautiful, and people mistake it with the entrance of the palace. Actually, it is the backside of the palace as it is an extended part of the main City Palace. It has five floors adorned with 953 jharokhas and latticework. The technology of Venturi effect is utilised well to make the air coming inside the palace cool. This effect always helped the Hawa Mahal stay serene and pleasant, so royal women never had a problem staying here in hot temperatures. At several times, the entire royal family used to get together here and escape the summers together. This honeycomb-like monument is a proud heritage left by the bygone era, which is an integral part of the history as well as architecture.

Breakfast is extra and bought to your room after 30min you ordered. They will provide transport to their restaurant which is nice and should try at least once. The only downside is that location is close to train station so you will hear train traffic and may not get as peaceful rest that you have hope. Overall a decent option in Jaipur. One last advice: use Uber.

i stayed 3 nights whilst doing the golden triangle, and this hotel offered a calm quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of jaipur. having stayed in noisy hotels in delhi and agra it was such a relief of being able to come back to have a nice comfortable quiet stay after a long days sight seeing. the hotel is located in a quiet back street, although for some tuk tuk drivers it was hard to find. its only 5 mins from the train station and if required the hotel will arrange a pick up for you. on arriving the check-in was fast and a nice cold drink served to welcome you by the excellent hotel manager sher singh who could not do enough to make your stay comfortable. also on check-in i was offered a choice of room either at the front or back of the hotel which was a nice a rare gesture. the rooms at the back of the hotel only have a small window so if you want more natural light choose the front. i booked a super deluxe room which was spacious, clean and had a decent size bathroom with walk in shower and hot water. the room had the normal amenities including fridge, flat screen tv and coffee making facilities but no in room safe. the wifi within the hotel was excellent both within your room and restaurants. i stayed on the second floor which as previously mentioned was really quiet allowing a good sleep. i had read reviewers who had mentioned that its possibly best to avoid the third floor as you will get some noise from the roof top restaurant. the hotel inside is impeccably maintained with nice ornate, decorative ceilings with traditional indian paintings. breakfast is served on the ground floor and offers a reasonable mix with boiled eggs, cereal, fruit etc and indian options. the roof top restaurant has a lovely ambience where you can savour the cool evening breeze and the very helpful restaurant manager on hand to assist wherever he could. the menu offered an extensive range although only a few western dishes. i'd highly recommend this hotel.

We were intially in a room on the 3rd floor directly under the resturant and found it a bit too noisy for our liking. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were immediately offered a room on the lower floor and they were very accommodating. Pasan and the team (special mention to Pramod who served us each time we visited) at the Peacock Restaurant are fantastic and will take great care of you while serving delicious meals. The vegetarian biryani was particularly good! And given the rooftop placement we are able to witness amazing Jaipur sunsets and sunrises. Would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone else who is visiting Jaipur.

It was a great stay at kalyan. There were clean bedsheets, linens, towels provided. The food was really great and the rooftop was beautifully decorated which also provides a great view of the city. The area in which hotel was located was great, silent being in the center of the city and it is also recommended as best area by lonely planet my book. The staff was always attentive and served us always with a smile. It was a pleasure staying at hotel kalyan. This hotel offers 5 star services at the cost of two star.Room was also big enough and was immaculately clean. All the floor gallaries were decorated in a traditional design which was superb. For going to sightseeing there were always took took available outside the hotel. To make it more friendly, the owners of the hotel also had a chat with us at the beautiful rooftop garden. Not only this,to our surprise, they had also built a tower to which one can go up with stairs and enjoy the beautiful view of the city which was 360 degree.I think this hotel's view should be added to jaipur attraction as it was the center and really at a great height. We had been traveling in India for weeks and throughout our time in India so far, this had been the best hotel which was never expected at such a lower budget. We had a great time here and would highly recommend this hotel to all my frens coming to jaipur and also all the fellow travelers to stay at kalyan which offers free WiFi,attached clean bathrooms, beautiful rooftop and indoor restaurant and many other amenities at such a lower costs which truely exceeded all our desires.Oh.. i forgot to talk about the location, its only 1 km from the railway station and bus stand and hotel also offered free pick up services from railway station and bus stand which was truely efficient. Stayed here for a few hours between reaching Jaipur Jn. railway station early in the morning and en route to the Airport. The property is very close to the Railway station, and I could reach within about ten minutes by walk after my train's arrival. If you have luggage and / or can't walk, local autos or cycle-rickshaws will charge Rs. 30/- onwards, though it is barely a few hundred metres distance. The hotel is a bit run down and the area is quite crowded / noisy, but the room was quite clean. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke due to the last guest. This too can't be helped, I suppose, given that it's a small property with few rooms. Breakfast options were very basic and limited, but there may be other small restaurants in the vicinity, which I had no time to check. The hot water tap didn't seem to be working, though the front desk assured me it was. I could manage as the weather wasn't too bad in any case. All in all, this hotel may be a good option for a short stay on a tight budget and if you want to be very close to the railway station. Otherwise, you would be better off with a hotel inside the city, albeit at a higher cost.

Jaipur gave to me probably the best Indian travel experience by far , with a lot of architecture and history , a lot of street food, kebabs, shawarmas , and more affordable accommodations as compared to Kolkatta, Agra and Delhi . The city has numerous affordable boutique hotels , and Chitra Katha is one of its best. The building is fairly new and well maintained , tucked in a quiet street , surrounded by quaint and charmingly designed indian houses. There are also good restaurants nearly, such as the vegetarian resto on top of sunders place, and that Nibs Chocolate drink cafe. Chitra Ktha itself has a good roof top restaurant. It is easy to find, just tell the taxi you head to Hathroi Fort, Hotel Chitra Katha is just opposite of hotel Pearl Palace ( the landmark ). Highly Recommend this Boutique hotel for the quality of service and accommodating staff. Deserving of my High Ratings given. Stayed at a dorm type bed in a penthouse room , with a great view of the Hathroi fort and the city. travelled to Jaipur Solo last March 2014.

The hotel is very near to the railwaystation. The room was budget room, but good option. The bed was big and clean (Without the blanket. It was not clean and bed smell.)The temperature of the room was good and worked the cooler, that was the most important for us, next to the clean bed. The bathroom was not too old, but very need the new wallpaint (also in the room). The shower is not too good, must change it, because the water didn't come good. The hotel, the room, the bed were ok and good (value for money), but we could not sleep good. Every night was noisy. We thought have very near one cinema ... but I was very upset, and angry, and I went to the reception the last night am. 03:00 o'clock. I couldn't belive why we heard the noise every night (22:00-08:00)... The night reception staff looked the movie in the TV, terrible loud (more than in the movie). I didn't understand why? I could hear the all film correctly on the first flour and heard it the all hotel... but maybe he was deaf, and didn't hear that was terrible noisy! That was very disappointment in the hotel.
Staff and hotel owner is very good, they have dealed very professionally. Nice experience, I will prefer this hotel. Main advantage is it is in the center of the city.
Low budget hotel, very nice but it obviously attracts noisy families, be warned that you need earplugs! 😉
we only stayed one night due to a lack of availability somewhere else, but wish we had stayed here the whole time. we went slightly over our daily accommodation budget to have the deluxe room, however it was completely worth it. the previous hotel was very cold and not as clean as this hotel. the other hotel was nearby so we were very used to the location, we were no...
