Wet Leg Add More 2022-2023 Tour Dates, Share Cover of Ashnikko’s “Daisy”: Stream

Even though Wet Leg have spent most of the year thus far on the road, it doesn’t look like they plan on slowing down anytime soon: The British indie rockers have scheduled more shows for late 2022 and summer 2023. Additionally, they’ve unveiled their cover of Ashnikko ’s hit “Daisy” as part of the Spotify Singles series.

Wet Leg will headline four shows in New York this December at four different iconic venues: Webster Hall, Bowery Ballroom, Elsewhere, and Music Hall of Williamsburg. After supporting a run on Harry Styles’ “Love on Tour” earlier this year, they’ll reunite with the pop star again next summer as they open his shows throughout the UK and Europe.

While Ashnikko’s original “Daisy” is a trap-pop jam, Wet Leg give the tune an alt-rock spin that’s still just as infectious. The other side of the Spotify Single features a pared-down re-working of “Convincing,” one of many highlights off the band’s self-titled debut album . Guitars, Quirk & ‘High Jams’: Wet Leg’s Global Rise

How a pair of friends from the Isle of Wight became indie rock's latest, and quirkiest, saviors.

On the same day that emerging indie-rock band Wet Leg announced its signing to Domino Recording Co. last June, the group released “Chaise Longue,” a minimalist post-punk rocker that immediately gained notoriety for its deadpan vocal delivery and Mean Girls references. But according to lead vocalist Rhian Teasdale, the duo’s debut single was never meant to come out.

“Chaise Longue” was “supposed to just stay in this folder that said ‘High Jams,’ ” she says. “They’re just really silly songs. They’re not for anyone else. But now it is.”

“Had we known that other people would listen to it, maybe we never would have made it,” adds lead guitarist Hester Chambers.

Teasdale affirms: “No, we definitely wouldn’t have. I say ‘chaise longue’ like 47 times.”

Trending on Billboard

Since then, the pair from England’s Isle of Wight has sold out venues across the United Kingdom and the United States, with more shows scheduled worldwide from now through November. Its catalog has earned over 13 million U.S. streams, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data, and singles “Chaise Longue” and the dreamy, reflective “Too Late Now” have charted on Billboard ’s Alternative Airplay and Adult Alternative Airplay , respectively. The band is in good company with acts both past — like the speak-singing Art Brut a decade ago — and present — including contemporaries Fontaines D.C., with whom it shares producer Dan Carey. And now, with its self-titled debut album arriving April 8, Wet Leg is already being touted as a shining example of how the world is hungry for the return of guitar-fueled indie rock .

Teasdale, 29, and Chambers, 28, met as music students at The Isle of Wight College. They first played together in 2018, when Chambers joined Teasdale for some gigs as part of RHAIN, Teasdale’s piano-based solo project, and in 2019 officially formed a band built around straightforward lyrics and “playing guitar really loudly,” says Teasdale. “I think before when I was writing, I would try and overcomplicate stuff, and the singing. I would try and show off the full range of my voice, but that is just unnecessary. It’s like guys on guitar who shred; it’s just musical masturbation.”

Though they previously attributed the band’s name to random hits on an emoji keyboard, they now say it came from an unfortunate sweat stain experienced by their drummer, Henry Holmes, who is joined by guitarist-keyboardist Josh Mobaraki and bassist Ellis Durand. The first Wet Leg show occurred on a local stage during the Isle of Wight Festival in front of a small crowd in 2019, but with Teasdale working in London as a wardrobe assistant and Chambers helping with her family’s jewelry business on the isle, the band could only play sporadically.

When pandemic lockdowns began in 2020, Teasdale and Chambers both ended up in their hometown, and although they collaborated remotely at first, they soon reunited in person, making the video for “Chaise Longue” that April. Former Wet Leg studio bassist Michael Champion, A&R executive for management company Hall or Nothing, sent the video to his boss, Martin Hall, who became an immediate fan and signed on as the act’s manager. “The fact that you can’t see Hester’s face in the whole video, the humor involved, it’s hard to do humor in music videos, but it’s so dry, the way Rhian sings to camera,” Hall says. He adds he had never heard the song prior to watching the clip, saying, “It sounded unlike anything else.”

Hall sent the video and some other early Wet Leg songs to labels including Island Records and Domino, which both dispatched representatives to the Isle of Wight to meet the band. “It seemed to me that they were making guitar music for themselves,” says Jordan Whitmore, Domino’s U.K. A&R manager. “They were not trying to be like anyone else or taking themselves too seriously.” Over a pint and some chips at the Spyglass pub, Teasdale and Chambers bonded with the Domino team and signed with the label in November 2020.

Following the signing announcement, Wet Leg resumed playing live last July, and by December, the band had played its first string of U.S. shows across New York and California — and sold out every date. “In our experience, we find it is good to get artists out to key international cities and turn people on to something new nice and early in the campaign, way ahead of the album release,” says Domino founder/owner Laurence Bell. “You get all those early adopters and tastemakers coming down to the small shows, and the excitement on the ground just swells from there.” Adds Hall: “It has gone incredibly quickly, more than any band I’ve ever managed in terms of putting the music out to where we are now.”

When the band returned this March for another round of touring, more sellouts followed, including one at Brooklyn Steel. (The show was originally scheduled for Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, but demand forced an upgrade from the 650-capacity club to the 1,800-person venue.) Attendees near the front wore lobster claws, as Wet Leg does in the “Wet Dream” video. Audience members screamed “I love you!” and someone in the crowd threw a bra. The band had enough material for about an hourlong set, playing through most of the upcoming album plus a Ronan Keating cover. Toward the end, Teasdale took a beat to stare out into the whooping audience. “This is very funny,” she mused aloud, smiling in disbelief before plunging into the next song.

How to buy Taylor Swift tickets: Eras Tour dates and prices compared

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, but it's unknown if any of those songs will make their way to the tour setlist.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resume on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets range from $392 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £978 (London, United Kingdom, on June 22). The latter is around $1,248 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $450 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $549 and $683, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,045 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 8) to $2,081 (Miami, Florida, on October 19). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,200 and $1,800. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,133 and $2,212, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break.

Where can I stream The Eras Tour concert film?

Padraig Harrington fights through rain to seize PGA Tour Champions lead

At the Hoag Classic in Southern California, Padraig Harrington fought off wet conditions to grab the solo lead.

Padraig Harrington, PGA Tour Champions, Hoag Classic

Padraig Harrington has played through the rain plenty of times before. After all, he is Irish and has played professional golf for nearly three decades.

As such, the Dubliner carded a 4-under 67 on Saturday to grab the solo lead after two rounds of the Hoag Classic on the PGA Tour Champions. Considering the conditions early on in his round, Harrington’s score was impressive. Only two other players, Y.E. Yang and Ricardo Gonzalez , shot lower scores than he did, with the latter shooting a 7-under 64.

“It played great for me, I’ve got to say. Yeah, it was longer in places, but I was able to use my length quite a bit on a few holes,” Harrington said.

“I think the setup was perfect. I always prefer when the courses are a little softer off the tee; it makes it longer for everybody else, and I can open up my shoulders a bit more.”

The three-time major champion has plenty of distance off the tee, and he used that to his advantage on Saturday.

Padraig Harrington, PGA Tour Champions, Hoag Classic

But after starting with two birdies over his first three holes, Harrington’s play tampered a bit, as he played the next 12 holes in 2-over.

“The first 14 holes were the opposite of yesterday. I seemed to play nicely and not score very well, but then those last four holes made up for it,” Harrington noted.

“And I was pushing hard over the last four holes. We don’t know what we’re going to get tomorrow, it was important to be tying the lead by the end of the day if not leading. I think I got my mindset a bit. Maybe making a bogey at 14 kind of kicked it off a little bit, but it was a nice way to finish.”

Harrington eagled the par-5 15th, made par at 16, and finished birdie-birdie at the par-3 17th and par-5 18th.

At the drop of a hat, the Irishman went from 8-under to 12-under to grab a one-shot lead over Thongchai Jaidee, who opened with a 9-under 62 on Friday and carded a 2-under 69 on Saturday.

Thongchai Jaidee, PGA Tour Champions, Hoag Classic

“I thought Thongchai played very well today. I didn’t think he made any mistakes, did everything well. I would expect him to go out and play well tomorrow,” Harrington said of Jaidee.

“You know, a one-shot lead over Thongchai is not enough; he seems to be playing very nicely. Yeah, in my head, I’m trying to think of 5, 6 under par would take the rest of the field out and would put a lot of work on Thongchai to keep up with that.”

A reporter then asked Harrington if he has a target score in mind on Sunday:

No, I just play each shot as it comes. If I’m in the lead, I’m always trying to take the field out of play. So, like for myself and Thongchai tomorrow, I’d love the two of us to play the front nine 4 under par, both of us, because then it’s between me and him for the last nine holes, and the field has got too much to do. That’s my attitude,” Harrington said.

“The last thing I want to do tomorrow is shoot level par and give 8, 9-unders, or even 7-unders a chance of competing. Hopefully, both of us play well, and we sort it out over those last four holes.”

wet legs tour

Sabrina Carpenter wrapped up her time as one of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour openers this month and took time to reflect on her time sharing a stage with the superstar.

The musician posted a series of photos on Instagram from the Eras Tour on Saturday — including a sweet shot of her and Swift walking through the Sydney Zoo in Australia when she third-wheeled a date with Swift and Travis Kelce — along with other photos of Carpenter on stage. In the caption, Carpenter says “that's a wrap” for her as an opener.

“Sitting at home reflecting on what a whirlwind this was and how very honored i feel to have been part of it,” Carpenter wrote in the caption. “I want to thank every crowd for being so welcoming and generous to us and making some of the most impressive friendship bracelets I’ve ever received.”

The “Nonsense” singer was Swift's opener for the first slate of international dates in Latin America, Asia, and Australia. The final tour date with Carpenter was March 9 in Singapore.

“And the most thank you’s I’ve ever thank you’d to Taylor,” Carpenter continued. “I feel so lucky to witness the magic that is you and this tour. there is truly no one like you and there never will be! i love you with all my heart and i will cherish this taybrina era (and all the eras) till the end of time”

Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter's working relationship seemed to develop into a close friendship since Swift announced Carpenter as an opener for the Eras Tour last year. The pair have been spotted together in multiple social settings, including attending a Kansas City Chiefs game in October to support Travis Kelce.

Carpenter is set to play Coachella in April, along with The Governor's Ball in New York City in June. Swift has a break between shows and will move on to her European leg starting in Paris on May 9 with opener Paramore. Swift will then finish out the tour in Canada with opener Gracie Abrams.
