The tour begins at bustling Borough Market, where you'll snack on a bacon and egg bap (the U.K. version of a breakfast sandwich) as your guide tells you about the history of the market, as well as an overview of the city's history and culture. Other stops include a historic pub for a cheese tasting paired with English cider. And – as is standard on a Secret Food Tour – there will be a secret dish offered somewhere along the way. As you eat your way through London, you'll also enjoy great views of the city skyline, London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter offers a behind-the-scenes look at sets, props and costumes used in the film franchise. Walk through the Great Hall – which is set for dinner – and explore Diagon Alley and Platform 9 3/4. Other exhibits include Creature Effects, where you can see how characters like Buckbeak the Hippogriff and Aragog were brought to life. You can even enjoy a butterbeer in the Backlot Café. Special exhibits are also displayed throughout the year and around the holidays.

The Nichol slum 1889

THE BATTLE FOR BETHNAL GREEN

As London expanded in the nineteenth century to become the world’s biggest metropolis, it absorbed many small communities. This new urban context brought many challenges to these areas: housing for the huge influx of people, health issues caused by overcrowding and poor (and often non-existent) sanitation.

This tour explores how Bethnal Green faced those challenges; in many ways it continues to face the challenges of the urban context.

George Orwell 1940

BETHNAL GREEN IN SO MANY WORDS

This is a tour with readings. Through the words of authors such as Iain Sinclair, Arthur Morrison and Monica Ali, Bethnal Green is revealed. Most famously George Orwell used his experiences in Bethnal Green when writing one of the twentieth century’s most important novels.

The works selected range from 1896 to 2003 and include a fight scene at the very railway footbridge where it was set.

TO BLACKWALL AND BEYOND

The West India and East India Docks brought a new dimension to London’s maritime trade, ushering in the development which would make London the world’s biggest port. But what of the maritime hamlets of Poplar and Blackwall themselves?

This tour begins with the West India Docks, a marvel of public provision built on the back of slavery, and concludes in Blackwall, an ancient maritime settlement from which voyages once set out to reach the ends of the earth.

The East End was devastated by the Second World War, but the hardships of the Home Front weren’t the only impact on the area. Post-War development sought to create a brand new London, one which turned its back on the past and looked only to the future.

This tour explores the effect on Bethnal Green of wartime struggles and post-War ambitions, as well as the pre- and post-war political context. It’s a story of resilience and of disaster, of the darker and brighter sides of human nature.

One Canada Square

THE CHANGELING CANARY WHARF

In 1988 work began on the Canary Wharf development. This newly-designated enterprise zone was to become an extension of the City of London, given over strictly to business. But since then the nature of development has given rise to new imperatives.

This tour explores an area which is as much an art space and a focus of ecological diversity as it is a place of business.

William Cubitt

CUBITT WAKES THE ISLE OF DOGS

In 1842, with Euston Station and Covent Garden Market to his credit, William Cubitt undertook to develop the land on the southeast of the Isle of Dogs. It was a considerable project which required and exceptional developer, and was to bring the Island to new life.

Though much of Cubitt Town has been lost to post-War development, this tour takes in most of the surviving buildings to tell a curious story of successes and failures.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE GREEN

Bethnal Green is an old parish, and old sins cast long shadows. Why should you think twice before accepting a drink from John Bishop and Thomas Williams? Or before letting the Reverend Benjamin Russen teach your daughter? And just what did happen at the Bluecoat Boy in 1911, and at the Carpenters’ Arms in 1965?

These stories of crimes and misdeeds in Bethnal Green span the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

So many clues get overlooked, though they are in plain sight and are passed by crowds of people everyday. That gateway could be a railway station or a cemetery; was that building a workhouse or an asylum? So many stories wait behind sometimes the smallest of details. They remind us that we are living in just one chapter of an ongoing narrative.

This tour takes in two very different settlements – Mile End Old Town and Bethnal Green – and gives tongue to the mute clues which tell of their pedigrees.

Weavers Cottages, Bethnal Green

HUGUENOTS AND OTHER WEAVERS

Once the East End was dominated by the silk weaving trade. Irish and French immigrants joined local craftsmen in producing silk cloth from hand looms in purpose-built weavers’ cottages. But competition combined with bad pay and conditions to bring about poverty and direct action.

This tour moves from Bethnal Green to Spitalfields and takes in weavers’ cottages and Georgian townhouses. We see the site of an armed confrontation, and two of the oldest shopfronts in London.

Starting out from Limehouse, this tour evokes the monsters created by Peter Ackroyd in his depictions of the East End riverside. We encounter the Architect, Frankenstein’s Monster, and of course the Limehouse Golem.

1. East London Walk in Spitalfields

I’ll start my list of east London walks with the one in Spitalfields . This is a popular area for eating, drinking, and shopping.

This London walk goes through the area’s high streets and side streets, offering an overview of everything from Old Spitalfields Market to Brick Lane as it does. It also features some famous street art murals.

My self-guided Spitalfields walk is for you if you want to get to know an east London neighborhood that blends historic houses, hipster bars, and cutting-edge cafes in one place.

It’s one of the coolest parts of the UK capital, and it has a great mix of everything.

Given the best markets in the neighborhood are open on Sundays, I recommend doing this walk on a Sunday in London . The whole area comes alive that day, and it’s a great way to experience the local scene.

2. East London Street Art Walk

The next of my east London walks is a street art tour. This one goes through Spitalfields and Shoreditch and focuses on the colorful murals the East End is known for.

Guided tours of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland allow you to minimise the travel hassle as you’ll have a company to do most of the planning for you, and many of the United Kingdom tour package options we’ve included here allow you to see far more of the UK in a shorter period of time than it would be possible to do on your own.

Coach tours UK options are a convenient way to travel around with the rest of your group and often allow more to be fitted into an itinerary than independently travelling by train.

The adventure begins in the capital of Edinburgh on day one. You’ll then be transported around Bonnie Scotland for seven days before ending up in Glasgow. 

This vibrant city lies to the west of Edinburgh. It’s the biggest in Scotland in terms of both population and square mileage. The metropolis is renowned for its magnificent architecture and as a cultural hub for fans of music, museums and more.

After arrival and on the second day of the tour, you’ll delve deeper under the surface of the historic and breathtakingly beautiful Scottish capital. Key sights including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and Palace of Holyroodhouse are visited during your guided tour, and you’ll also enjoy free time to spend as you wish. 

Between leaving Edinburgh and arriving in Glasgow – both of which are in southern Scotland – you’ll head north. The first stop is St. Andrews, where Prince William met Kate Middleton, before overnighting at a hotel in the Cairngorms National Park. During day four, you’ll visit the site of the famous Jacobite uprising, see Eilean Donan Castle, look out for the Loch Ness Monster and head over to the Isle of Skye. 

The fifth day of the tour includes Ben Nevis and Glencoe en route to Glasgow. After staying overnight there, you’ll take a city tour before calling at Clydeside whisky distillery and Stirling Castle on day six. Day seven is departure day, unless you decide to stay on in Glasgow for longer. 

Best for touring unspoiled Scotland

If what appeals to you most about the British Isles is the chance to spend time in Bonnie Scotland, this tour to far northern Scotland might be the one for you. It’s what Great Britain vacations are made of for many – beguiling cities, beautiful coastline and of course a dazzlingly rich and varied history. 

Day one transports you from Edinburgh to Inverness, via the famous Forth Bridge, picture-perfect Perthshire, the peaceful village of Dunkeld, the fascinating Highland Folk Museum, the Cairngorms National Park, bloody Culloden Battlefield and the standing stones at Clava Cairns. 

Next up on the second day is the spectacular North Coast 500 trail, via French-style Dunrobin Castle, en route to the island of Orkney. Puffin territory and an astonishingly well-preserved Neolithic settlement await after overnighting on Orkney. 

Both the better-known and lesser seen sights of Scotland make up much of the tour’s second half. These include Smoo Cave in Sutherland, the harbour village of Ullapool, Eilean Donan Castle, the Isle of Skye, the Jacobite Steam Train from Mallaig to Fort William and Glencoe.

During the last day, you can also choose to take an optional side trip to one of the Western Isles – namely Iona, Kerrera, Mull or Staffa. Alternatively, climb up Battery Hill in Oban or call into the 

 local Whisky Distillery. Finally, before heading back to Edinburgh, visit the Kelpies and Stirling Castle. 

Best England, Ireland, Scotland Tour packages

First up after departing London is Shakespeare country and Stratford-upon-Avon, then it’s the Yorkshire cities of York and Bradford. The Yorkshire Dales, Lake Windermere, Gretna Green and Glasgow are then on the agenda for day three. 

There’s a day in Edinburgh for the fourth day, before heading to Ayrshire, Belfast, Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford on day five and six. Cardiff, Bath and Windsor are the final stops before the tour winds up back in London. 

This tour offers incredible value for money, and really maximises each and every day when time in the UK is tight. 

Best for trips to England and Ireland that include the main highlights

If you’re looking at tours of England, Scotland and Ireland, then this 10 day trip by Globus may tick all the right boxes. 

Start and end in London on this tour that takes in the English highlights of Stonehenge and Bath before exploring Newport and Cardiff in Wales en route by ferry to Waterford and Dublin in Ireland.

Head north through Ireland towards the up-and-coming city of Belfast and crossing back into Scotland to take in the sights of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh.

On the final leg you’ll head south through York and Stratford upon Avon to London to soak up the best of English history. Travel is by coach. 

This is one of the best tours of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland if you’re tight on time and don’t want to forgo any of the countries of the British Isles. The travel is at a fairly fast pace though – so you may wish to add on a few days to relax at the end of your trip. 

Best for combining Scottish Highlands & Ireland

One of the comprehensive UK tours from London options in this list, this itinerary works well if you want to start in London and have a few days before your trip starts to explore the UK’s capital – either through an extension booked through Insight or under your own steam. 

Leaving London, this ultimate UK tour takes in the historic English highlights of Stratford and York before heading past Hadrian’s Wall to Edinburgh and circling the Scottish Highlands.

Take in the legendary sights of Loch Ness, Glencoe and a boat trip on Loch Lomond before heading back south into England and Wales, and crossing over into Ireland.

Travel is by private coach and accommodation is at 4* hotels. 

On this grand UK tour, you’ll spend a total of 5 nights in Ireland and 7 in England & Scotland, making this the perfect UK tour packages from London when you just want to see it all! 

Best for English countryside and Roman history

Following the route of Hadrian’s Wall makes for one of the best road trips in the UK. Though the wall is quite justifiably famous, the route along it is far less touristy than other parts of the British Isles. The wall stretches from near Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the east to the compact city of Carlisle in the west. 

Hadrian’s Wall can be found within the more peaceful parts of England’s two most northerly counties. As this is a walking tour you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness, but this also means you’ll get up really close to the sights of Cumbria and Northumberland. And of course the unspoiled English countryside, with its dry stone walls and sheep-dotted emerald fields. 

To give you some idea of the distances, the first day’s walk is around eight miles, between Carlisle and Irthington. Other walks include the six mile trek between Lanercost Priory and Gilsland, the three-and-a-half Walltown Crags to Haltwhistle route and seven miles from Once Brewed to Brocolitia Fort. It’s also nine miles from Chollerford to East Wallhouses, and about five from East Wallhouses to Wylam. 

Highlights of this tour include the pretty Cumbrian village Crosby-on-Eden; Birdoswald, Housesteads, Brocolitia and Vindolanda Roman Forts, Walltown quarry, Sycamore Gap, the site of the victory of Oswald and the historic old Military Road.

Travel is in small groups (max 12) and includes a local tour guide “CEO”. Accommodation is in mid-range hotels and guest houses, and typically breakfasts and entry to some sights are included.

GRJ are the go-to for UK steam tours and railway journeys around the UK and beyond, so if travelling the UK by train is what you’re hoping to do, look no further.

Itineraries are designed to take in iconic lines and to provide the best steam train holidays UK has (or ‘regular’ trains). Journeys are escorted by a Tour Manager, and the majority of travellers are either solo travellers or couples aged between 45 – 80.

Accommodation is in 3* hotels or higher. The maximum group size on any trip is 50, or you can opt for a tailor made travel experience. 

Insight Vacations are an upscale tour company offering luxury UK coach tours with up to 40 people per group.

Travellers are typically 45 and up, and itineraries are a little more relaxed than many other tour companies, including 2 night stays at many destinations and “relaxed starts” in the morning spread out through the trip allowing time to catch up on rest if you need it.

What: A hosted, real-time visualisation tool-set that enables businesses to see all their data (web analytics, sales figures etc) in one place.

Founder: Paul Joyce previously designed and built data warehouses for blue-chip companies, finally quitting his day job two months after Geckoboard's beta launch.

Launched: 2010.

Their pitch: Geckoboard is a status board for your business's vital signs, serving up the indicators that matter to you.

Our verdict: As data streams grow ever more complex, Geckoboard's one-stop metrics dashboard could prove a powerful tool for businesses.

TRANSFERWISE Currency exchange

What: A peer-to-peer currency exchange that allows customers to wire money (just sterling, euros, Polish zloty and Swiss francs so far) to one another cheaply, bypassing banks – and their commission charges.

Founders: Taavet Hinrikus , Skype's first employee, and Kristo Käärmann, former management consultant.

Launched: 2011

Pitch: We're a financial service built for people, not banks – the Robin Hood of currency exchange.

Verdict: In this bank-loathing climate, most of us baulk at their charges. Timely and cheap then, Transferwise has every chance of carving out a sizeable niche in the currency exchange market. However, trust takes time to build.

MARKETINVOICE Finance

What: A service that allows companies to raise working capital by auctioning off their outstanding invoices in an online marketplace.

Founders: Anil Stocker , formerly with Lehman Brothers private equity group, and Charles Delingpole (brother of Telegraph journalist James), ex-JP Morgan Cazenove.

Pitch: We're all about getting working capital to small businesses by cutting short the lag created by long payment terms.

Verdict: Growing fast and with little competition in Europe or Asia (its main markets), Marketinvoice is rewiring a neglected corner of finance – and making a real impact.

EDITD Fashion information

What: EDITD delivers "live" market intelligence for fashion industry subscribers, by trawling the web for sales data and consumer chatter, measuring 2m products and 300,000 opinions every day.

Founders: Geoff Watts and Julia Fowler, a couple who dreamed up their business after meeting at a car racing club in their native Perth, Australia.

Launched: 2009.

Pitch: We're a Bloomberg for fashion.

Verdict: EDITD is among the very best in show – smart, innovative and, above all, useful for a sizeable industry – with prospects beyond fashion. Could become a breakout player.

GOCARDLESS Direct debit facilitators

What: An online payment platform that makes it easier for merchants to take payments online via direct debit – bypassing cards and slashing costs.

Founders: Oxford graduates and ex-management consultants Matt Robinson, Hiroki Takeuchi and Tom Blomfield. Robinson started his first business at 16, which funded his law degree, while Blomfield launched Boso.com, while at Oxford.

Launched: 2011.

Pitch: Simple online payments. Get paid directly from your customers' bank accounts. No merchant account. No credit card fees. No hassle.

Verdict: A company widely tipped for the big time. The quality of its investors underscore the belief that GoCardless could go global.

SHUTL Web couriers

What: A web courier service, offering delivery of online purchases within 90 minutes, which acts as an aggregator for local couriers by pooling capacity and offering it to retailers. Clients include Argos, Coast and Oasis.

Founder: Tom Allason (chief executive), an entrepreneur who previously co-founded eCourier .

Pitch: Shutl is a branded web service, enabling immediate and convenient delivery of online shopping.

Verdict: Shutl is a problem-solving idea, coolly executed.

HOUSEBITES Reinventing takeaway food

What: A reboot of the takeaway or "social dining", Housebites arranges for a local professional chef to cook a meal of your choice, delivered to your doorstep.

Founders: Simon Prockter – who set up SpeedDater, which evolved into a dating site and was sold in 2008 – and Paul Birch.

Launched: 2010

Pitch: We've handed the power over to you and the chef. Now you can engage directly with the person who cooks your food, and see or provide feedback.

Verdict: The takeaway is certainly due for a rethink, but while one of our panellists praised Housebites' service – and cooking – another wondered just how much "engagement" people want with a chef, after a long day at work?

PUSHER Cloud tools for developers

What: A technology company in the truest sense, Pusher provides cloud-based services that allow developers to design and build complex web and mobile apps.

Founders: Max Williams, who previously ran the Ruby on Rails development company New Bamboo alongside Pusher's co-founder, Damien Tanner.

Pitch: We believe that your developer time is best spent making awesome features, not creating infrastructure.

Verdict: Pusher is building a real business that supplies tools for developers. It has a large and growing user base and backing from big hitters including Passion Capital.

SECRETESCAPES Luxury travel club

What: A members-only luxury travel club, offering "flash sale" discounts of up to 70% on handpicked hotels and holidays.

Founders: Tom Valentine, ex-eBay and Seatwave, Troy Collins, who previously founded cruiselinefans.com ("best described as a Facebook and TripAdvisor mashup for cruise ships") and Alex Saint, co-founder of travel price comparison site dealchecker.co.uk .

Pitch: Welcome to the worst-kept secret in luxury travel … We negotiate for luxury handpicked hotels and holidays in the UK and abroad. How? Well, even the most luxurious hotels don't like having empty rooms.

Verdict: Lastminute.com for the Groupon generation – minus the Martha Lane-Fox marketing brilliance.

HAILO Taxi booking service

What: An idiot-proof downloadable iPhone or Android app that uses GPS to match black cabs and passengers nearby. Launched in London – coming soon to New York City, Dublin, Chicago and Toronto.

Founders: A mix of cabbies and internet entrepreneurs, including Jay Bregman and Caspar Woolley, founder and former chief operating officer of eCourier.co.uk respectively.

Pitch: Use Hailo to hail a cab with just two taps. No more arm-flailing or trying your luck with cab roulette.

Verdict: Brilliant in its why-didn't-I-think-of-this simplicity. Easy to use, a lifeline for recession-reeling cabbies and destined for greatness (as its $20m investment to date would suggest).

LLUSTRE Design marketplace

What: A home design e-commerce site, offering exclusive items and limited edition pieces at membership-only prices. It was bought last month by design mega-marketplace Fab.com just 10 weeks after launch.

Founders: Vivienne Bearman – formerly producer/product manager at Playfish (acquired by Electronic Arts for $275m in 2009) and head of product at onefinestay.com – and Tracy Dorée, former investment manager at MMC Ventures.

Verdict: Superbly executed site for design geeks, which barely had enough time to announce its presence before being snapped up by an established – and undoubtedly distinctly nervous – rival.

STYLISTPICK Fast fashion

What: Entertainment-led, subscription-based fast fashion (shoes and accessories) site, with Cheryl Cole among celebrity endorsers and stylists.

Founder: Felix Leuschner, entrepreneur-in-residence at White Bear Yard and former director of consumer business at Moneybookers .

Pitch: Stylistpick puts the power of fashion in your hands so you can shop your way, whenever and however you want.

Verdict: The team is building a brand from scratch and have a loyal subscriber base, not least because of their clever use of celebrity partnerships. But is it distinct enough from the myriad other fashion retail sites out there?

SEEDRS Startup investment

What: A reboot of existing startup funding models, Seedrs allows entrepreneurs to "crowd-fund" ventures.

Founders: Jeff Lynn, former corporate lawyer, and Carlos Silva, an "IT development and security expert".

Launched: 2012.

Pitch: We can basically invest in a clever guy that's written down his idea on the back of a napkin. In fact it's dangerous not to. The crowd will decide.

Verdict: By allowing lots of people to put small amounts of money into new startups, Seedrs makes it easier for companies to get the start they need and allow anyone to put cash into high-risk but exciting new ventures. However, Britain's spin on the Kickstarter model was only authorised by the Financial Services Authority in May, so it's very early days.

ONEFINESTAY House swaps

What: The "unhotel" people. Onefinestay's pitch is that it offers customers "the chance to stay in someone else's place while they are out of town. You get to live their life for a few days." Plus towels and toiletries.

Founders: Greg Marsh, formerly of Index Ventures, Demetrios Zoppos, former founding chief executive of GradFutures, Tim Davey, who co-founded Snaptalent, and Evan Frank, co-founder of e-commerce menswear site iwantBOX.

Pitch: All the advantages of the hotel, like the nice smelly stuff in small bottles. And none of the downsides, like somebody bothering you at 8:53am to fold your toilet paper into a triangle.

Verdict: Airbnb [the holiday rentals marketplace valued at $1bn] for people who like crisp bed linen and vanity kits, Onefinestay is a unique proposition, with great traction and a strong team.

NUJI Shopping

What: Social shopping site Nuji's pitch is that it's "a social wish list", on which users can save items from online boutiques and stores from all over the web, follow people with similar tastes and earn points towards discounts.

Founders: Dean Fankhauser, who previously worked at Yahoo and the advertising and communications firm Euro RSCG, Vincent Thomé , ex- Tribal DDB and senior product strategist at AKQA , and software engineering graduate Anton Meryl Nithianandan .

Pitch: We're trying to create a social graph of people with similar tastes to you.

Verdict: The team is building the internet's department store and with more than 20,000 stores and 500,000 products they are growing fast. Versus very general pinning sites, Nuji offers retailers a compelling shopping-focused partner. But it's a crowded marketplace.

TRAITPERCEPTION Social analytics

What: A very new company with an intriguing, if baffling, proposition, TraitPerception is setting out to "create a global ranking of people's virtues", by effectively crowdsourcing their traits. Eh? Nope, us neither.

Founders: Juan Cartagena, former head of strategy at Thus and Demon; José Ignacio Fernández, a PhD in computer science; and Borja Martin, ex-project manager and lead developer at Spanish news site hola.com .

Pitch: The next time you want to meet someone for the first time you can check that person's anonymous references and score in advance.

Verdict: Sounds like it came from placing a moral philosopher, Stephen Hawking and an emeritus professor of machine learning in a blender.

OPENSIGNALMAPS Mobile signal strength maps

What: A crowdsourced database gathered via an Android app that heat-maps mobile-phone towers, mobile signal-strength readings and Wi-Fi access points around the world.

Founders: Brendan Gill, a former lifeguard at Finchley lido (and analyst at ABN Amro), Sam Westwood , partner at RepeaterStore.com , Android developer James Robinson, and Sina Khanifar , San Francisco-based serial startup founder.

Pitch: OpenSignalMaps crunches crowdsourced big data to make cool maps and recommend which cell carrier is best in any given area.

Verdict: There are multiple business opportunities around the selling of anonymised data.

QRIOUSLY Social analytics

What: Real time, location-based "sentiment analysis" on smartphones and tablets. Qriously swaps ads with short, targeted questions and tracks responses.

Founders: Christopher Kahler, Abraham Mueller and Gerald Mueller. The trio previously launched , a mobile app and social network site.

Pitch: The Qriously team is a high octane smoothie of mobile product samurai, seasoned research and digital media muscle.

Verdict: This has the potential to revolutionise mobile advertising, which is expected to be worth $24bn (£15.5bn) globally by 2015.

BOSSASTUDIOS Games developer

What: Cool Shoreditch games maker, acquired by Elisabeth Murdoch's Shine Group for an undisclosed sum less than a year after launch.

Founders: Henrique Olifiers, Roberta Lucca, Ric Moore and Imre Jele – "four veterans of the games, entertainment and mobile industries."

Pitch: Our studio has the best, most creative, "free-working" environment in the industry. Everything we do, all the time, must be charming. Cool. Edgy. We are wicked.

Verdict: Although its acquisition means Bossa Studios no longer counts as a startup, it's young and in a field which typifies Silicon Roundabout.

PEERINDEX Social analytics

What: Peerindex is a social analytics business, which is algorithmically mapping out social media to identify and score "influencers", or opinion formers.

Founder: Azeem Azhar, a former business correspondent for the Economist , strategy manager at the BBC and head of innovation at Reuters.

Pitch: Understand your online social capital.

Verdict: As reputation and influence become more important, startups will take different approaches to help customers reward their best influencers. Peerindex could become one of the key startups in this field.

Such a fun and alternative trip to take! We went to Prague, Poland, Budapest, and Austria. Even though it was one of the coldest weeks, our tour guide made it beyond enjoyable. She had so many suggestions of places to go and all were great. My favorite stop was Krakow, Poland, what a beautiful city and so much fun. I had an absolute blast while on this trips, the tour guide were energetic, fun, and knowledgeable, the trip was well run and flexible which I enjoyed, the company had optional activities set up for us which was nice to not feel pressured to do them if you wanted to explore on your own. The accommodations were always comfy and clean and the buses we took for all the trips were enjoyable and filled with fun movies to watch. I would highly recommend traveling with Euroadventures, their attention to detail, responsible yet fun guides, and flexible, activities filled schedule are all beyond worth it.

This was a great tour made wonderful by our tour guide Zdenka. She knew these countries so well, she wanted us to see everything possible and she made it happen! Our bus driver, Gaspy, kept us safe and on time. Would recommend this tour, you learn so much and the countries visited were so beautiful and welcoming. This is the first time that Globus gave us a couple small, quirky new hotels that were not comfortable. Please Globus stick to regular hotels that have great staff. if the hotels are far from city center please give us transportation there and back on our afternoons off whenever possible.

To be honest, part of what made the trip fantastic was our group of 12- could not have had a better group to travel with- which is clearly luck, but a piece of our group being so cohesive was Nejca, our guide. She was perfect! Available but not pushy. Laid back, but willing to assert herself to make our experience the best. She made each person in the group feel special and appreciated. Thank you, Nejca! The itinerary was quite good as well. Although there were places I could have stayed for a day longer, I think it’s important to not stay too long and feel like time is wasted on a certain place on the tour. Transportation was efficient and Nejca did a great job getting us to our destinations easily and without rushing. Accommodations were very good- with the exception of Prague. Although our apartment was nice, it was clear that the residents of Prague feel that their space is being taken over by tourists- which is clearly true. I would have preferred to have stayed in a hotel in Prague-honestly, I would have paid more for it. Other than that, cannot day enough good things about the trip! Thank you!!

  'East London Liquor Company' Ultimate Experience

East London Liquor Company is a distillery producing and importing a range of high quality, handcrafted spirits including gin, vodka, rum and whisky.  Bringing spirits production back to London’s East End after more than a century, they are reinstating an industry back to its roots.

This experience leaves no part of the distillery unexplored. The experience begins in the bar with our signature gin and tonic, before continuing into our still room – drink in hand – where the tour starts. Discover the art of distillation and the history of spirits in London before heading down to our maturation room (containing all our casks of maturing whisky) to taste all of our spirits in our range (vodka, three gins, rum, navy strength rum, new make spirit (un-aged whiskey) You'll get the handle, taste and smell all the ingredients we use in our production.

Once you've sampled all our amazing offerings you'll make your way upstairs to our restaurant for a sensational three-course seasonal meal with all the trimmings, bookended with a wonderfully blended aperitif and a digestif cocktail.

• A comprehensive, in depth, tour of the distillery .

• A tasting session of seven East London Liquor Company spirits: one vodka, three gins, two rums, including one navy strength rum and a new make spirit, which is a un-matured whiskey

Appropriate dress for a working distillery

No flip flops or sandals. 

WHAT TO BRING

Please wear sturdy footwear. You may wish to bring a camera. A note book should you wish to take tasting notes of the liquors. 

HOW TO GET THERE ​

The venue is very close to Mile End tube station on the central, district, and Hammersmith and city lines. Taxi from central London would take roughly 30 minutes.
