Sneaker Pimps are back nearly 20 years after releasing their third album, 2002’s Bloodsport . The 90s trip-hop luminaries announced today that their fourth album, Squaring the Circle , will be coming out this fall. The title track, which is also the lead single, is set for a July 9 release. A teaser is available to watch below. The album is available to pre-order via Bandcamp.

The album was written, performed, and produced by founding members Chris Corner and Liam Howe and was recorded at Sawtooth Studios in Pioneertown, California, and The Tower Studios in London. Corner also took on vocal duty alongside featured artist Simonne Jones.

Sneaker Pimps: "Squaring The Circle" Out Now

“It’s taken many years and many false starts to get Sneaker Pimps back in the game,” wrote Corner on Twitter . “Sometimes you need to back the f__k off and let the universe take control. I’m proud and relieved to say it is finally happening. We officially have new music.”

Sneaker Pimps are best known for their track “6 Underground,” which featured vocals from former lead singer Kelli Ali, who left the group after their 1996 debut album, Becoming X . That album, which charted at No.27 in the UK (and No.1 on the US Heatseekers Chart), was met with near-unanimous critical acclaim and an instantly adoring fan base.

Said Stephen Thomas Erlewine for AllMusic , “ Becoming X is one of the most engaging byproducts of post-Portishead trip-hop. While the Sneaker Pimps don’t have the doomed romanticism of Portishead or the nasty experimental tendencies of Tricky, they have a cool sense of pop hooks and an edgier guitar attack than their predecessors.” Those subtle pop sensibilities skyrocketed the group, who then put their success under a microscope on their sophomore LP, Splinter .

Re: Kelli Ali, did you really write “…who left the group after their 1996 debut album, Becoming X”? Left the group? That’s uhmmm… missing just a teensy bit of detail.

Fault lines1 europe tour 2023.

Chris Corner, frontman of IAMX and trip hop band Sneaker Pimps, evolved from timid young man in his room to the international artist who has been creating art that transcends gender and genre for years. His dark sound combines perfectly with the industrial synthpop and swathes of burlesque visuals he likes to display during his impressive performances. He briefly went back to basics in 2020 with the acoustic album 'Echo Echo', but with 'Machinate', IAMX's darkness resurfaces even more. The x in his stage name stands for the variable, and that is exactly what Chris Corner embraces: diversity, fluidity, complexity, but above all creativity.

Chris Corner a.k.a IAMX formerly a member of the band Sneaker Pimps who has been creating his own brand of dark synth-pop since 2004.

IAMX is the solo project of Chris Corner who was originally part of the band Sneaker Pimps. Corner began the project in 2004 in London as a merger of independent music and visual art. His music is varied due to his genre crossing sound but aso his ranging production techniques which have been known to produce anything from burlesque inspired dance tracks to emotive ballads.

Since 2006 Chris has based his recording and general life in Berlin and it has heavily influenced his lyrical subject matter, including themes such as death, love, decadence, critique of religion and politics, alienation and addiction often associated with the capital.

IAMX emphasises the eccentricity within his music when performing live, his tours now famed for unusual stage outfits and body painting. Corner and his team also design all the art and props that make up his stage design as well as directing the video he projects throughout the show. The video footage along with his music videos have been known to cause controversy in the media. His latest album 'The Unified Field' was released in 2013, and to date his discography stands at five albums, all of which were self-released and produced by Corner.

Live reviews

I was fortunate to see IAMX on their brief Pledgemusic-funded tour of the US. If you get a chance, you absolutely should, especially as Chris Corner's struggles with health, mental and physical, have made such things rarer now than they used to be. (I'm going to say "they", although it's Chris Corner's brainchild, because Janine Gezang and Alberto Alvarez, as well as new member Sammi Doll, are essential parts of the live experience.) IAMX is best described as dark electronica, but there's a wide range of musical and artistic influence, from cabaret to orchestral and sometimes purely visual and sensory inspiration. The lyrics of their songs don't shy away from hard topics. Sex, politics, drug use, abuse, the music industry; overwhelming anxiety and ego-shattering love: it's cathartic and unguarded and honest.

The music is great just to listen to, but in person, in a fairly intimate venue, the experience is like the difference between your first kiss and the most mindblowing intimate encounter of your life. Both are great, but in different galaxies. Chris & co completely cast a spell on the audience, aided by amazing costuming and lighting, and the energy in the room was palpable. There's a lot of fan interaction, touching and inviting the front rows to interact. I remember feeling transported, as if this was not quite a human encounter. The music does not lose anything (and might gain something) for being performed live, and the stage presence of everyone in the band as well as their interactions with each other is completely compelling. I don't have a single regret about the show. IAMX definitely explores their own catalogue as well: I was thrilled to hear quite a bit of the new album, but some of my favorites from older records were played as well.

Amazingly, this show took place during some of the most hellish weeks of Chris's recent health problems. It may take some waiting (though Chris is performing on StageIt over the next few months with awesome acoustic shows that walk through the older albums -- I totally recommend the online experience) but IAMX should not be missed, especially in a small venue.

My wife and I saw IAMX at the Mod Club in Toronto, Ontario, last night. We absolutely loved IAMX live (it was our first time ever seeing the live show), and really enjoyed it. The only thing we didn't like was the overall waiting times. The doors opened at 8pm, and the club was just dark with some radio music playing until a little after 9pm, when the opening band started playing. The opener was done around 9:45pm, and then the club was back to being dark and just playing some radio, with nothing really happening, until around 10:23pm, when IAMX finally got on stage. I think it would've been better to have either a second opener or maybe some sort of DJ or someone to keep the crowd interested. There were a lot of people on their phone apps and even napping until IAMX showed up, even during the opening band's performance. It was pretty dead energy-wise, and even my wife fell asleep. It was really boring until 10:23. Next time, we're planning on not showing up until much much later, to avoid that, as we were both really restless and bored for over 2 hours (especially from 8-9, and then 9:45-10:23). Otherwise, IAMX's performance itself was amazing and we loved it. Just the waiting was awful.

The solo music project of Chris Corner of Sneaker Pimps fame, this London performer and visual artist is fully invested in the mentality and ideals of IAMX. The musician has successfully blended his music, art and overall identity since beginning the project back in 2004. Almost like a modern day Manson, his live performance is partly as much about Chris as a person as it is his music. His lyrical subjects fluctuate from sexual ambiguity, identity, love, death, religion and politics and parts of the show become incredibly intense as Corner delves deep within his own psyche and shares everything he finds with his audience.

His androgynous image further helps the subject matter of gender identity and it goes well with his theatrical and evocative performance style. The costumes are always a spectacle of their own as they change frequently throughout the evening. It is all pretty complex and at times it feels as though you have walked into a live exhibition at the Serpentine gallery however on the whole in really does engage you and leaves you wanting more as all great art tends to.

IAMX was absolutely amazing!!! That was the best show I've seen in years! The performance was on-point, moving, excellent, energetic -- just a whole lot of fun. The music was mixed perfectly. It sounded crystal clear and deep. They seem to have great chemistry, and they were electric! The light show and the imagery on the screen were incredible. The crowd was so into it, myself included; I felt transported. I truly couldn't believe the show - any show, really - could be THAT good.

I will say, I have known a decent portion of IAMX's music for a few years but I haven't heard all the songs, so I'm not a hardcore fan, and that makes it all the more astounding that I loved this show more than any other I've seen before (and I've seen a lot). It didn't matter that I didn't know all the songs - it didn't change how freaking amazing it was. I would absolutely come out to see IAMX again, in a heartbeat.

Incredible as ever, IAMX performance at the Electric Ballroom was outstanding. The new album Alive in New Light is right up there with their best, and their performance of the new songs was full on. Joined on stage by Kat von D, whose vocals added a spine-tingling savage sweetness. They did not fail to include old favourites such as 'I Come with Knives and 'your Joy is my Low' although it must be increasingly difficult to choose songs now from an 8 album repertoire. Simply spellbinding.

Magnificent!! Awesomeness.... sharp brilliant voice, unique voice, this band deserves more....

I went a bit sad because of the place and I didn't expect people to be so alive and so much screaming and applauding - very proud about this :) Chris coming for a second encore... OMG! :) I think he loved us too. Anyway, I left happy and energized and this concert will stay in my heart for a long time from now on... Looking forward to see them back one more time again and again :)

After finding IAMX by chance, I completely fell in love with Chris Corner's work. He is a GENIUS! I knew the Sneaker Pimps and loved their stuff but as a solo artist - under the moniker IAMX, he is really shines. Travelled all the way from London to Poland to see him with his talented band and was blown away. SEE THEM LIVE! They are a visual and aural treat. Sensory overload is an understatement. You won't be disappointed.

If you haven't seen them live before, you should definitely make the effort to come out and see them! They put on an amazing show!!! And, since they typically play smaller venues, you're guaranteed to be pulled in, whether it's from their fantastic sound, their visuals, or just the energy they're pushing out from the stage.

IAMX is a passionate band. You'll walk out of their show a huge fan, if you weren't already.

This show was unreal, and everything from the lighting to the merch stand to the drinks (nice White Claw offering, White Oak Music Hall!) were perfect. Still blown away y'all were 8 feet from me in a tiny room. Tried to buy up all the merch I could to give back for the years of free MIND-BLOWING art you've given me. Much love, IAMX.

Sneaker Pimps (Sort Of) Nod to the Past With ‘Squaring the Circle’

Sneaker Pimps producers Chris Corner and Liam Howe return with the slow-paced Squaring the Circle that plays it safer than their talents warrant.

sneaker pimps tour 2023

Fairly or unfairly, Sneaker Pimps will always be remembered in the context of the trip hop and” electronica” trends they personified in 1996-1997 when their debut album Becoming X tapped the zeitgeist via the hit singles “6 Underground” and “Spin Spin Sugar”. Since the band never achieved the same level of visibility after that, Becoming X lives on as the thumbnail summary of its mark on pop culture. The only Sneaker Pimps album to feature charismatic frontwoman Kelli Ali (then Kelli Drayton). It’s impossible to even think about Becoming X without bumping into the empty space left in the wake of her departure. Never mind that both the band and Ali put out their most musically adventurous work after splitting—whether either party likes it or not, their legacies will forever be tied to one another.

With Squaring the Circle , the first Sneaker Pimps effort in almost 20 years, core members Chris Corner and Liam Howe—who themselves went their separate ways in 2003 but have been teasing a new Sneaker Pimps release for six years now—appear to make peace with the most well-known chapter of their history. Even the album title itself functions as a self-conscious nod to the past. Once again, the band are presenting themselves as a trio, in what looks like a calculated effort to cultivate the same image as what we saw in those old photos 25 years ago. Perhaps it’s for the benefit of casual fans who haven’t kept up with all the fits and starts in the Sneaker Pimps saga since 2003.

Corner and Howe have brought other female vocalists in to sing on Sneaker Pimps material since Ali. However, Squaring the Circle will inevitably register as a return to their “classic” format, this time with former biomedical researcher Simonne Jones sharing lead vocal duties alongside Corner. A multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter in her own right, Jones’ background on paper reads like it would help invigorate the music, much as Ali did. After all, Corner and Howe have a history of giving others room to shine. After Ali, for example, though Corner took the helm as frontman, Sneaker Pimps were able to deviate sharply from what they had done prior, thanks in large part to a four-way creative dynamic that included drummer/programmer David Westlake and bassist Joe Wilson.

Though Westlake and Wilson initially joined to tour in support of Becoming X , they helped transform Sneaker Pimps into a “band” in more of a traditional sense for 1999’s Splinter and 2002’s Bloodsport . Undoubtedly, fans of those two records will feel their absence on Squaring The Circle as profoundly as those who still include “6 Underground” on playlists will surely pine for Ali. That the new material doesn’t repeat either the sultry electro-crackle of Becoming X or the organic gloom of the Westlake-Wilson period shouldn’t surprise anyone familiar with this band’s track record.

Sure enough, on new tracks like “Paper Room” , “Lifeline” , and “Come Like the Cure” , Corner and Howe make a sharp left turn, fashioning their production more in the mold of, say, a folk-pop icon Joan Armatrading or even 1940s jazz singer backed by an orchestra. In those instances, they create a rather convincing sense of space, where it feels as if you can hear the proverbial pin drop, not unlike the sensation of sitting in a hushed classical concert hall designed to accentuate the most subtle acoustics.

Clearly, Corner and Howe are still in possession of the same bold streak that defines their career, for better or worse. At 16 tracks spanning an hour and seven minutes, Squaring the Circle moves along at such an unrelentingly slow pace that it induces an almost claustrophobic sense of being sealed into the music. Yes, Corner and Howe create a wide-open ambience, but they never quite achieve enough momentum to make you feel like you’re going anywhere. It’s as if the pair finally surrendered to taking its place in the “chill-out” pantheon, perennially fated to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Morcheeba , Zero 7, Lamb, and, of course, Massive Attack . The thing is, all of those acts—Sneaker Pimps included!—captured a much broader range of moods than the late-night “comedown” vibe that so often gets attributed to them.

Because they can be such adept stylists, it might be tempting for careless listeners to take Sneaker Pimps’ work at nothing more than face value. For example, there are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of generic songs that bear a surface-level resemblance to the new single “Alibis” , a song that (inadvertently, perhaps) spotlights a songwriting prowess that’s long overdue for recognition. Look past the spartan R&B-lite exterior, and you’ll find the nimble chord progressions and effortless hooks of old still intact. Sure, Becoming X and Splinter each display the production sensibilities of their day, but it can’t be said that Corner and Howe ever failed to put their unique stamp on them.

They were also reliable for lacing their work with a caustic edge seething just beneath the surface. This time, Corner and Howe (who wrote all the lyrics with longtime collaborator Ian Pickering) replace their penchant for spite with cries of despair. “Each day,” sings Jones on “SOS” , “a broken clock is true at least twice—twice the odds I give myself.” From start to finish, the references to self-loathing, impending crisis, and panic abound with alarming frequency. If someone close to you expressed these kinds of sentiments, you’d probably get a sinking feeling (or at least the feeling that they were sinking). But for the most part, the music doesn’t sink so much as drift. As such, an album that could have taken listeners through a more viscerally unsettling dark night of the soul all too often succumbs to a numbing featurelessness.

It’s not that Corner and Howe have lost their ability to entice the ear. They deserve credit—as usual—for the immaculate sheen they put on every sound they employ. New tunes like “Tranquility Trap” , “Child in the Dark” , and “Immaculate Hearts” all show that Corner and Howe are perfectly capable of recreating the somber, reflective mood of latter-day Depeche Mode . Meanwhile, the dancey “Stripes” recaptures the electro-goth throb of Depeche Mode’s classic period.

Meanwhile, the mix lovingly spotlights Corner’s acoustic guitar work, a crucial element that runs like a connecting thread through the whole Sneaker Pimps catalog. Still, considering the sheer range and volume of production work they’ve done individually since 2003—with Corner masterminding his IAMX project and Howe at the boards behind artists like FKA Twigs , Adele , and Lana Del Rey —it’s hard to fathom why they wouldn’t spice this material with more of their distinct flavor.

To be fair, Squaring the Circle is dense enough with sonic information that there’s undoubtedly a long-term reward in pushing yourself to absorb it. But it would have been better for Sneaker Pimps to challenge themselves (and us) a little more overtly like when they assemble an angular synth figure, a counter-rhythmic vocal line from Jones. The electronic beat also tugs the rhythm in yet another direction on “Love Me Stupid” . It’s a tune whose structural pretzel logic achieves a kind of cubism in sound that’s quite enjoyable to get spun around in.

Moreover, it’s as if Corner and Howe haven’t learned from past mistakes. Ali was dismissed because, by their own admission at the time, the rest of the band refused to include her in the writing process. With that in mind, it’s all the more puzzling that Squaring the Circle doesn’t draw anything from Jones’ unique background. We’re left to wonder how much emotional contouring she could have brought to the material as a polymath musician/painter/scientist who has participated in HIV research and worked in Ghana and the Brazilian Amazon.

Alas, for much of this album, Corner and Howe play it safer than even their talents would warrant, given what we already know they’re capable of.

Sneaker Pimps Tour Brings Iggy Azalea's "Pu$$y" and Ace Hood to Grand Central Miami

Only in America will you get sneakers and " Pu$$y " for $20. And only an Australian dude can make it happen.

A decade ago, Aussie Peter Fahey embarked on a mission to combine two of his passions -- footwear and music. The result: The Sneaker Pimp Tour , a mishmash of "limited, rare, exclusive, and custom kicks" coupled with "live hip-hop performances" and the chance to buy, sell, and trade some of the "dopest sneakers" and "Illest" streetwear on the market.

To commemorate its tenth anniversary, Sneaker Pimps has teamed with Iggy Azalea, Ace Hood, and several up-and-coming artists for a U.S. Tour scheduled to stop at Grand Central on Friday, August 24.

In short, the Sneaker Pimps Tour is to sneakerheads what Comic-Con is to geeks. It's a safe place where athletic footwear aficionados can swoon over special-edition Chucks and drop serious coinage on custom Nikes.

Early this year, a collector bid $93,000 on eBay for a limited-edition pair of the Kanye West-designed Nike Air Yeezy II sneakers . Just one year earlier, a set of Air Jordan Silver Shoes was being sold for a cool $60,000 .

That's serious baller money when you consider that Ace Hood only drops about $20,000 at strip clubs. But as the rapper told us in May , "Sometimes I think, 'Damn, I just really blew like $20,000 on this and that.' But it's all within the profession. It's all within a lifestyle at the end of the day."

Sneaker Pimps Tour. With Ace Hood, Iggy Azalea, and others. Friday, August 24. Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The pimpin' begins at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $20 to $25 plus fees via eventbrite.com . Ages 18 and up. Call 305-377-2277 or visit grandcentralmiami.com .

IAMX Unveils Two Tours & Albums For 2023

The spring tour across North America will follow the release of the first lyrically-driven IAMX album, with a second full album and European tour coming this fall.

pixeltracker

Chris Corner's beautifully dark cult electronic project IAMX returns this year with two evocative new albums and tours.

Today the project announces the FAULT LINES1 Tour which will see Corner and his live band performing across North America and Europe for the first time since 2019. The spring tour across North America will follow the release of the first lyrically-driven IAMX album in as many years, with a second full album and European tour coming this fall.

The cold, grinding, synthetic soundscapes of Fault Lines combine with biting lyrical themes of psychological fracture, social division, and the ineffable forces of nature. Both albums showcase a new, harder side of IAMX while elevating the melody and emotions at the core of the project to new heights.

On stage the band, comprised of Corner and logtime live collaborators Janine Gezang (vocals, keys, bass) and Jon Siren (drums), will combine muscular classics from throughout the expansive IAMX catalog with the bold new material of Fault Lines. Fans can expect the awe of IAMX's psycho-sexual, explosive and passionate performance paired with striking theatrical lights, visuals, filth glam and the bands' never-ending existential need to become one with the audience.

The North American tour will end with a bang in Los Angeles, CA, a city full of inspiration that is deeply intertwined with IAMX. Opening the night will be Skinny Puppy co-founder cEvin Key, with a unique electronic dance set, written and programmed specifically for this event. Additional support acts for the tour will be announced soon.

Chris Corner's process of becoming IAMX has been theatrical, transcendent and communal. Androgynous and visceral, he has metamorphosed from small-town kid to international pop star with iconic trip-hop group Sneaker Pimps, to a creator of raw art that disrupts gender and genre.

Fueling electronic experimentation with punk energy and confessional lyricism, Corner's dark sound, performances, videos, fashion and persona are larger than life, iconoclastic and shockingly intimate.

After releasing Kiss + Swallow in 2004 and moving from his native UK to Berlin, Germany in 2005, IAMX released six additional albums over the following eight years.

In 2013 Corner started suffering from Chronic Insomnia and Depression, prompting a move to Los Angeles and yielding the album Metanoia in 2015.

An intensely cathartic body of work, Metanoia represented a comeback and a turning point in Corner's life. The album allowed him to explore themes of mental health that eventually led to partnerships with organizations like The You Rock Foundation, to start his own mental health podcast called HEADNOISE and to release HEADSTREAMS (Spring 2022), an art and poetry book on the subject.

Since 2015 IAMX has released several more albums ranging from experimental electronica to the highly anticipated 2018 studio album Alive In New Light - to his 2020 acoustic album Echo Echo, which Corner co-produced with Grammy Award winning uber-producer David Bottrill (Tool, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mastodon).

In 2021 the prolific artist delivered a long-awaited new album with Sneaker Pimps and a modular electronic album as IAMX, titled Machinate, which garnered a first-round GRAMMY nomination for best-electronic album.

Both have been released via his new record label UNFALL, which he founded alongside longtime IAMX collaborator and live bassist Janine Gezang, with the goal of supporting music with a real message and keeping revenue streams transparent and accessible for any artist UNFALL supports and releases.

Corner is a heavily licensed artist, with 16 IAMX tracks on ABC's series 'How To Get Away with Murder' alone, multiple songs on 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation', amongst many other top shows globally and numerous soundtrack and commercial contributions as Sneaker Pimps.

As a video artist, Corner crafts stunning live visuals and music videos for IAMX and other acts such as his close friend and collaborator Gary Numan.

Just as the X in mathematics signifies the variable and unpredictable, Corner's identity and artistry evolve through experiment and fierce independence. As a result, his work continues to deepen with his ever-expanding catalogue of projects.

Bloodsport (2002)

The Third Album...

Sneaker Pimps Bloodsport.jpg

About Bloodsport:

After a year of doing their own thing, Sneaker Pimps got together again and started to record new material. This would be their last officially released album for at least 20 years - 'Bloodsport'. It was released in 2002 and was recorded mainly in France, between 2000-2001. Rather than regular visits to the studio, such as in the case of 'Splinter', the entire band (including Ian) moved to the French countryside. The album was to be called 'Bloodsport' (previously named 'Forsythe') and it was a vast shift from their earlier work, this time their new output was an alternative dance record, with slight hip-hop elements to it, covered with an overall gothic feel. Sneaker Pimps ditched their previous label 'Clean-up' records and started to work towards being more independent. At this time, their website was thriving and so they demoed most of their new material there as downloadable MP3 files, which was a new medium at the time and so it attracted a lot of attention and ultimately landed a very healthy deal with the popular, American hip-hop label 'Tommy Boy' records, soon after. The band had now evolved, not only in sound, but also in style; most 'Bloodsport' gigs had Chris equipped with latex surgeons gloves, whilst being overshadowed by hospital operating theatre lamps - later sets had him clad in a blazer adorned with Swiss badges with a 'Gucci' bandanna. The album was produced and mixed by 'Flood' with band-regular Jim Abbiss and due to this, it had very high public anticipation, with people now accustomed to the vocals of Chris Corner. Things were looking good for the band, but due to the tragic events of 9/11, this put the brakes on the project. 'Tommy Boy' records' offices were destroyed in the aftermath and they had to pause their business, due to a massive loss of revenue. This meant that 'Bloodsport' would either have to be delayed or cancelled completely. Thankfully, this was never the case as the band released it themselves on their own 'Splinter Recordings' label. This was never shown on actual releases, due to all of the covers and logos being printed prior to the 9/11 tragedy. Having to fund the album themselves meant that each individual member supposedly lost on average of around £10,000 each. Nevertheless, it was released with 3 singles and to promote it, they set out on another lengthy tour. The most popular single from the album was 'Loretta Young Silks'. It was inspired by the 1940's film star Loretta Young, whom mysteriously passed away on the day that the 'Bloodsport' album was released. The music video also featured Honor Blackman from 'The Avengers' and the track itself was included in the popular British TV series: 'Queer As Folk'. Sampling, once again was plentiful and original; they used Bill Withers' track: 'I Wish You Well', manipulated a synth hook from 'Visage's' track: 'Tar' and used a snippet of James Horner's Yamaha CS-80 drenched 'Gorky Park' soundtrack. In 2005, an edited version of 'Bloodsport' was used in the Colombian crime film: 'Rosaria Tijeras'. This has and still garners a lot of traffic to Sneaker Pimps, as it is the 2nd most popular film in Colombian history. The male on the front of the album cover and varying 'Sick' singles is 'DJ Groove', from Moscow, a one of Russia's most respected DJ's, who still follows his passion to this day. The theme of the cover (and entire album) is simply 'Bloodsport' itself, not just in the form of violence, but in love and also life. The album was promoted with various images of bulls and bullfighting and even the tour visuals were slowed down footage clips of vintage bullfighting. A promotional sick bag, given away at gigs at the 'I.C.A.' in London, amongst other goodies, had plastic bulls included, found on the top of certain brands of wine bottles and Dunlop teamed with the band to make the first ever, non-green coloured 'Green-flash' sneakers, adorned with blood splatter and a rubber bull tag. During the 'Bloodsport' tour, Liam had left due to the birth of his daughters and so Chris Tate was temporarily recruited to take charge of keyboards. Soon after Chris left, Ian joined the live setup until the final 'Bloodsport' gigs in 2003, at a time where the band were gathering together new material for their next album (which later became the demos for the unreleased 'SP4' set) and so some of it was played live, to test the water. Upon release, it was pressed onto LP, and CD. The Japanese CD had an extra included from the 'Bloodsport' sessions (see below), a live video of 'Loretta Young Silks' (enhanced CD screenshots below) and was released on Simon Le-Bon's own 'SYN' record label. This collaboration led to an official Sneaker Pimps studio recording of 'The Chauffeur', by 'Duran-Duran' for the 'Meli-Melo' CD and concert. The LP edition was a 2-LP, 180gram, red vinyl set. It was planned to re-release 'Bloodsport' for free in 5.1 surround-sound form, but it was cancelled.
