Parkway Drive announce 2022 UK and European tour

Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 12)

Parkway Drive have announced a UK and European headline tour for 2022 – see all the details below.

The Australian band, whose latest album ‘Reverence’ arrived in 2018, will perform a string of shows throughout next September into October. Tickets go on sale here this Friday (November 12) at 10am GMT.

Following gigs in Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and other cities, Parkway Drive are set to touch down in the UK on September 30 for a performance at Alexandra Palace in London. Further shows will take place in Manchester (October 1), Nottingham (2) and Cardiff (3).

Sheffield metalcore group While She Sleeps will appear as the support act at the dates.

Fans who purchased tickets for the band’s previously announced postponed concerts are able to carry over their bookings to the new tour dates. Tickets for London, however, cannot be rolled over due to a change in venue.

In a four-star review , NME wrote described ‘Reverence’ as “a record for arenas, and Parkway Drive have finally – and perhaps unexpectedly – become the modern metal band who deserve to fill them”. A live album, ‘Viva The Underdogs’, came out last year along with an accompanying tour film of the same name.

Speaking to NME about the project , frontman Winston McCall explained: “I’ve always loved live albums that take you to that show. The live show and recorded album are two totally different beasts, two totally different interpretations of the music.

“Parkway was always designed as a live beast. We started as a small-town band for our friends to mosh to in the local youth centre. And we wanted to capture that.”

Aussie metal heavyweights Parkway Drive have officially unveiled their new album - and a brand new single from it

Aussie metal heavyweights Parkway Drive have officially unveiled all the details of their upcoming seventh album. Titled Darker Still , the record is the follow-up to 2018's Reverence and will land on September 9 via Epitaph .

"When Parkway originally started out, we all were trying to push ourselves to do more than we possibly could," says frontman Winston McCall of the new album. "What you hear on Darker Still is the final fulfilment of our ability to learn and grow catching up with the imagination that we have always had."

"I'm really proud of what we have achieved together," adds guitarist Jeff Ling, "and feel that as musicians, we have really ascended to new realms of class and ability."

"There are compositions and songs that we'd never attempted before – or, to be more accurate, which we have attempted in the past, but not had the courage, time or understanding to pull off," says McCall. He also notes that the album explores the concept of the "dark night of the soul: the idea of reaching a point in your life where you are faced with a reckoning of your structure of beliefs, your sense of self and your place in the world, to a point where it's irreconcilable with the way that you are as a person."

The album announcement is accompanied by the release of a brand new single and accompanying video. Titled The Greatest Fear , it's another slab of anthemic, stomping riffage from the Byron Bay five-piece.

"The greatest fear, the one we all share; this song is about the unifying force we all must face —death," explains McCall. "The goal was to create a song that saw death not as something that separates, but something that connects us all on our paths. Musically, we wanted to create a song that did this concept justice. It's heavy, it's epic and when it stomps it leaves an impact."

Parkway Drive announce European tour

PARKWAY DRIVE  have announced a headlining European tour!

After cancelling their European run (which was initially rescheduled to March and April this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic), now, the Australian metal titans have confirmed their headlining European and UK arena tour for September and October next year.

Support for the tour comes from  WHILE SHE SLEEPS . Tickets will be available from Friday, November 12th and can be purchased here .

PARKWAY DRIVE will set stages afire with their full pyro production show on their largest headlining tour to date in North America beginning May 8 in Baltimore, Maryland. HATEBREED and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will support the tour with STICK TO YOUR GUNS on select dates. The tour will also include appearances at Welcome To Rockville and So What festivals.

Formed in Byron Bay in 2002, PARKWAY DRIVE has released six studio albums, all on Epitaph : "Killing With A Smile" (2005), "Horizons" (2007), "Deep Blue" (2010), "Atlas" (2012), "IRE" (2015) and "Reverence" (2018). The band features vocalist Winston McCall , guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling , bassist Jia O'Connor and drummer Ben Gordon .

In 2020 band released the documentary "Viva The Underdogs" , which features over a decade of behind the scenes personal footage, coupled with unprecedented access to the band's most explosive live tours and world's biggest music festivals. The soundtrack for the documentary was released in the same year. Featuring 11 live tracks from the band's 2019 headlining set at German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air , the soundtrack also includes three studio tracks recorded in German: "Würgegriff (Vice Grip)" , "Die Leere (The Void)" and "Schattenboxen (Shadow Boxing)" which features German rapper Casper .
