Kenny Chesney's Sun Goes Down Tour

Kenny Chesney is returning to Mercedes-Benz Stadium this summer with Atlanta’s own Zac Brown Band for his 2024 Sun Goes Down Tour. Joining Chesney and ZBB at MBS on May 18th are Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker.

Stadium Bag Policy

For quickest entry into the stadium, we strongly recommend that you do not bring a bag on event day. If a bag is necessary, the bag must meet the following criteria in order to enter the stadium:

Clear Bags (Plastic, Vinyl, or PVC)

Bags must be CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC and not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. Bags cannot be tinted with color or include oversized content that prevents visibility into the clear bag.

Non-Clear Bags

Only non-clear bags that are smaller than 4.5” x 6.5” will be permitted into the stadium.

Plan ahead with a variety of parking options for games and events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. There are more than 20,000 parking spots available within a 20-minute walk of the stadium. Pre-purchasing your pass is highly recommended as all parking will often sell out prior to an event.

Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band to bring tour to Mercedes-Benz Stadium

ATLANTA — Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band will perform and present at the 2023 CMA Awards live on Channel 2 Wednesday night. You’ll have the chance to see both of them live in Atlanta soon.

The country artist and band announced the dates for their upcoming “Sun Goes Down” tour. University of Georgia alumnae Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker will also join the tour.

All four acts will perform on May 18, 2024 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Presales will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday for Amex and Audacy members. Premium presale will start at 10 a.m. Monday followed by basic presale at 12 pm.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 17.

You can see Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band perform and present during the 2023 CMA Awards, which start at 8 p.m.

Three-time GRAMMY winners and multi-platinum artists Zac Brown Band have become one of music's most heralded acts. Their latest album JEKYLL + HYDE, out now on Southern Ground Artists/John Varvatos Records/Big Machine Label Group/Republic Records, marked the band’s third consecutive #1 debut on the BIllboard 200 chart.

Country rockers the Zac Brown Band delight crowds all over the States with their infectious music and high energy performance. The sound the band makes sounds so huge when you consider that it is seven musicians sat with their guitars. There are no gimmicks or special effects just endearing, well played country music.

From the ripping stomp-athon 'Whiskey's Gone' that begins the show, the audience cheer throughout. No matter what your preference in genre, Zac Brown and his brilliant band have catered for you with covers from all range of artists such as Led Zepplin, Billy Joel and Queen. The emphasis of fun is there within the performance as Zac continuously interacts with his audience and tells tales of gigs gone by or the meanings behind certain songs before his band kicks in.

Having had a large amount of hits on the US Country chart, the band intelligently blend some together so everyone has chance to hear at least part of their favourite. A particularly fantastic combo is 'Free' and 'Into The Mystic', a cover of Van Morrison. They finish with their very first hit single 'Chicken Fried' and take a final bow whilst enjoying the huge applause from the crowd.

I LOVE the Zac Brown Band. I've seen them three times. This is the first time I've gone on a Sunday and to be honest, I was a little disappointed. They played a lot of covers, which is fine, but when it came to the encore, we were excited because it felt like they had missed a few really good songs. They played one new song off their album, then went into a ridiculously long "guitar battle" which honestly went on for way too long considering that it was 10pm and as a 27 year old with a job, I was ready to go to bed. Had they played that in the middle of the concert, I would have been more into it but I wanted to hear a few more of their big hits during that time. But instead they did the guitar off and we were just like "what is happening right now..." and then the last song they played was a cover! I would have gone home had I know that was going to be the case for the encore. I didn't need to stay an extra 30 minutes for that. We were all pretty disappointed, especially for paying $50 to go see them. They have SO many good songs, and I'm sure they want to switch it up and play something different, but don't use the encore for that! Leave us on a high at the end..

I got to see Zac Brown Band for the second time when they toured with Kenny Chesney! I got to see ZBB when Dr. Ryan took me to the Southern Ground Festival 2 years ago but this was Mom’s first time. I still can’t get over how much talent is in this band. I feel like they play a better rendition of The Devil Went Down to Georgia than Charlie Daniels. I swear it’s faster, I don’t know how they do it. At one point, the lead electric guitarist went into this forever long solo that never got boring. It reminded me of being at a Keith Urban, John Mayer, or Brad Paisley concert. Maybe ZBB should get together with them for a song! The boys finished out their set with Chicken Fried which I’m pretty sure will always be my favorite, no matter how many more albums they release.

We saw Zac in Charlottesville, VA. I twas a great show that highlighted the new album but also his many super hits. We were also impressed with the amount of covers he and the band did. he also included Darrell Scott for the eintire show as part of the bandm which I loved. Also brought out was the O'Conner family band, who are now on my to see list! Caroline Jones was a surprise opener who also came out and did a couple with Zac and she was very good.

I would recommend seeing the Zac Brown Band if you have the chance and also the longtime stalwart Darrell Scott should be on you bucket artist list!

Where to begin??? Zac and his crew are amazingly talented singers, songwriters, performers that don’t get the recognition they deserve in the music industry. My husband is part of his crew and I have had the privilege of witnessing several shows at different locations to “SOLD OUT” crowds that love him. He never does the same show twice, so you just never know what you are going to see when you go to one of them, always a variety of different genres of music. They are all just an amazing group of musicians. I LOVE Zac Brown Band!!!!

Seeing Zac Brown Band live is a treat that anyone who has an appreciation for music could enjoy. They presented all spectrum and genres of music from Kashmir by Led Zepplin to Into the Mystic by Van Morrison, and-of course- some Jimmy buffet. The band displayed their talents both through "big band" moments with flashy lights and hifi audio as well as an "acoustic session" with just six band members and a microphone. The show was family-friendly and enjoyable for all audiences. I definitely want to see Zac Brown Band in concert again.

Great show! They played most of their hit and then some songs from other artist. They did a great job of trying to keep the atmosphere like a party but many of their songs don't fit with that atmosphere. They do a great tribute to the troops. That was a part of the show that had everybody's attention. The lawn seat a Klipchs was you and rowdy but the closer to the pavilion you sat the better that got. The only problem with the show was the opener. They were a little more deep southern country and so nobody seemed to care about them.

I've waited 5 years to see the band. It was well worth the wait. Zac Brown Band did not disappoint. It was a beautiful night. Nobody was acting up and I have a great memory with my lady. She surprised me with the tickets and words can't describe how excited I was. The band is stand up. There were storms coming in and they did there best to finish there set so we could get out to our cars as quick as possible. To have concern for your fans is hands down amazing. Can't wait to see them again.

The last time we saw Zac Brown perform was outside at the Olympic Park back in June 2013 as a support act so we were pleased to see them in an indoor arena and performing as the main act.

Having only discovered the Zac Brown Band around 5 years ago they always inject great energy when performing live and the O2 was no exception. Great live band, great song selection as well as a few covers and an overall performance that brought house down!

Awesome show! Opener Madison Ward will be a star in my estimation. Beautiful vocals and her cover of Killing Me Softly later in the show was magic. Zac and his band are phenomenal musicians. Their covers of Use Somebody, Bohemian Rhapsody and Paradise City were incredible! My favourite was Bohemian Rhapsody. Very engaging and crowd participation was one of best I've ever experienced. Great night. Would see them again in a heartbeat.

CONCERT REVIEW: Zac Brown Band, homegrown and happy to be home

The sky was angry Thursday night at Truist Park, the sticky humidity segueing into a deluge of rain as Def Leppard sang its second song “Fire It Up.” Lightning and thunder in the distance added an element of drama.

However, Atlanta’s own Zac Brown Band found much friendlier climes when they arrived at Truist 24 hours later. The ballpark had just experienced brief showers and a welcome drop in temperature into the 70s. Humidity lifted, the sun returned and a kind breeze gave the near sold-out crowd a gentle nudge as Brown showed off his Atlanta Braves World Series ring gifted to him by the team.

The band, over two-and-a-half hours, proceeded to offer up a three-act set list encompassing most of their greatest hits, a smattering of new cuts from “The Comeback” album and a delightful smorgasbord of cover tunes from the 1970s to today. Their professionalism and boisterous energy never let up from beginning to end.

“We’ll take you on a journey of the band,” said Brown, in a tight Iron Maiden sleeveless shirt that showed off his elaborately tatted arms.

The opening seven songs were performed on a stage transformed into a small bar like the ones they used to play incessantly for years before their big label debut that introduced the world to “Chicken Fried” in 2008, a song that led to a raft of other hits that turned them into the crowd-pleasing arena act they are today.

Brown specifically namechecked Dixie Tavern, a mere 1.9 miles from Truist Park, where the band regularly plied its trade before much smaller audiences. “I played many a show there,” he said wistfully. “A lot of shows were just me and the guitar.”

So he opened the concert with an acoustic version of the 2009 No. 1 country hit “Toes,” a song that effectively evoked Jimmy Buffett with a definable Georgia twist. He then began adding band members, describing how he met each one with an affectionate anecdote or two: John Driskell Hopkins, fiddler Jimmy De Martini, Clay Cook, Coy Bowles, Matt Mangano drummers Daniel de los Reyes and Chris Fryar. (Country musician Caroline Jones recently joined the tour as an honorary member.)

By the fourth song, the core band was all on stage and Brown described how, as the lead of a bar band, he had to read the crowd and decide what covers would work to keep patrons happy, whether it was Pink Floyd or Bill Withers. Creating a better set list, he said, was the difference between eating ramen that night or a special trip to Taco Bell. The band then played an early medley of country classics including “Dixieland Delight,” “9 to 5″ and “Forever and Ever Amen.”

The second act added a trio of brass players and two back-up singers, with a stage set up more befitting a stadium show.

By then, the pattern was set, with the band’s catalog of songs fitting largely into one of three categories.

Brown’s warm, authentically likable vocals envelop the heartfelt ballads, often tinged with sadness and regret, such as “Goodbye In Her Eyes” and “Sweet Annie.”

There are mid-tempo tunes featuring odes to small-town living, common ground and just being regular folks such as “GA Clay,” “Same Boat,” the band’s first No. 1 country airplay hit in six years, and “Out in the Middle,” the latest single with lines like “Just some good old boys and good old girls/hunting red dirt dreams in a concrete world.”

And for those who don’t want to think much at all but just want to dance and raise their PBRs in the air, the band gave it their all during alcohol-infused beach songs “Jump Right In” and “Knee Deep.” And de Martini ended the act by giving Satan the appropriate beatdown with his fiddle on “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

The encore featured opening act the Robert Randolph Band for what Brown called a “mega band” singing a mega medley of pop and R&B hits of stretching five decades. Different band members tackled the vocals of various songs, whether it was Pharrell’s “Happy” (de los Reyes), Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” (Jones) or Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long (Hopkins). Brown “Rickrolled” himself with “Never Gonna Give You Up,” followed by a funky Silk Sonic album cut “Fly as Me.”

During “Colder Weather,” Brown paused, looked high into the rafters and appeared overcome by emotion over the size of the crowd and the loving reception the entire night. He then sang a bit of “Take It to the Limit” by the Eagles, a band that was a clear inspiration for many of the harmony-infused Zac Brown songs of yore, before returning to “Colder Weather.” He ended the song with a knowing nod to Hopkins, his longtime friend who recently announced he had ALS. (Band members and crew spent much of the concert donning T-shirts “Hop on a Cure,” Hopkins’ new charity to raise money to find a cure for the disease.)

And the band, never political but always patriotic, finished the night with the one-two punch of “America the Beautiful” and “Chicken Fried.”

Atlanta, GA (January 14, 2022) – Today, multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning Zac Brown Band announced their upcoming 2022 international tour, “Out in the Middle Tour.”

The new set of dates, produced by Live Nation, follows 2021’s incredibly successful “The Comeback Tour,” where the band staged their comeback to live performances following a COVID-19 hiatus. The “Out in the Middle Tour” will see the band return to some of the nation’s most iconic venues, including Boston’s Fenway Park, where Zac Brown Band currently holds the record for most consecutive sold-out shows. Kicking off in Greenville, SC on April 22nd, the multi-city trek will include performances in lead singer Zac Brown’s native Atlanta at Truist Park, the famed Wrigley Field in Chicago, and the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

“Performing in front of millions of fans around the world is one of the most electrifying and humbling feelings,” said Brown. “We’re so excited to go back out on the road and keep the unbelievable momentum going from ‘The Comeback Tour.’ It’s been such an incredible year for the band, debuting some of the best music we’ve ever made, and we are thrilled to continue playing live for our amazing fans.”

The “Out in the Middle Tour” will showcase the band’s old-school country roots and southern-rock style, serving as an ode to their country pride and life’s simple pleasures. Joining the band once again will be Caroline Jones, who performed as a special guest during "The Comeback Tour."

On November 1, 2024, Camp Southern Ground will host it’s 7th Annual An Evening to Remember at a private location in Atlanta. The event brings together 200 industry leaders and philanthropists for an intimate and inspiring evening to raise funds to support Camp’s mission. Dinner and program is followed by a private Zac Brown Band concert, the highlight of the night.

Watch Paul McCartney, the Eagles Perform ‘Let It Be’ at Jimmy Buffett Tribute Concert

Paul McCartney celebrated Jimmy Buffett during a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl last night, sharing memories of the musician and performing the Beatles ‘ “Let It Be” with the Eagles.

“I had the great pleasure of knowing Jimmy,” McCartney told the audience. “And like everyone else on the bill tonight has said, this is one great man. He was generous, he was funny, he’d done just about everything in his life.”

He added, “I was on holiday with him and I forgot to bring my guitar, so he had his own guitar strung left-handed for me. And then the next time I saw him he’d had one custom made left-handed for me.”

He explained that he sang several songs for Buffett during the last week of his life and wanted to perform one of them for the concert. McCartney, who was introduced by Dave Grohl , showcased the 1970 song at a grand piano while backed by the Eagles.

Elsewhere during the tribute concert, Coral Reefer Band, Brown, and Grohl teamed up for a cover of Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl,” while Sheryl Crow showcased “Fins.”

Buffett died on Sept. 1, 2023, at the age of 76. At the time, McCartney wrote , “He had a most amazing lust for life and a beautiful sense of humour. When we swapped tales about the past his were so exotic and lush and involved sailing trips and surfing and so many exciting stories that it was hard for me to keep up with him. Right up to the last minute his eyes still twinkled with a humour that said, ‘I love this world and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it’.  So many of us will miss Jimmy and his tremendous personality. His love for us all, and for mankind as a whole.”
