the meeting went well, but they didn’t give me a patch, they said it was over, I was upset, it was the same with Mashinehead, they didn’t bring the car’s flag with them, they said they would send it out, but they didn’t send it to me, though I was left by the coordinator, so that I would send him my home address to him, this is not pleasant, but the meeting with Anthrax itself was great, they are very good people !!!

Dissatisfied with this app!! My option to purchase tickets for Anthrax was this site. What a joke. I was not able to purchase tickets or view available tickets. The app keep showing message, when ticket come available, I would be notified. I missed the concert, I never was notified if tickets ever went on sale. I attempt to purchase ticket but, site kepted rerouting back to this app.

Anthrax ticket agents should test their chosen app and make sure their fans are not left out. App frustrating to use, app didn’t go anywhere. I was taken to other site to purchase another app that I can view live concert and had to pay for free service. What a joke!!!

I started listening to Anthrax in high school. I would blast In My World on a daily basis. The song was so good they used it to promote Persistent of Time on Married with children, my dad's favorite sitcom.

As I moved through highschool I DEVOURED everything from them I could get my hands on. I remember spinning up Catharsis for my dad. He thought it was a great song. Then I played Panic (from Go2E) and he was blown away.

I never would have made it through highschool without Anthrax.

When I got to see them live for the first time with High on Fire, I felt complete. I had always wanted to see my 2 all time favorite metal bands (and then it became 3 with Mahine Head in college). They played the entirety of Among the Living and it was perfect. And for a cherry on top, Kirk Hammet came out to cover TNT with them. Fuckin amazing.

In my world it's cold. My defense is like stone. No one gets inside, cuz in my world I'm home. But as long as I've got music, I'm NEVER alone!

Darrell can NEVER die because DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER!

“When we parted ways back in 1984, they told me to stick around because they might need me in 40 years.” Original Anthrax bassist Dan Lilker will rejoin the band for US and South American tour

Lilker will fill in for Frank Bello, who’s briefly stepping away from Anthrax for personal reasons

Anthrax

Anthrax will be rejoined by original bassist Dan Lilker for their upcoming US and South American tour dates.

The seminal New York thrash metal band announced today (March 28) that their current bassist, Frank Bello, will be sitting out their April and May concerts “due to personal reasons”.

Lilker co-founded Anthrax with rhythm guitarist Scott Ian , who’s gone on to become their sole constant member, in 1981. The bassist performed on the band’s 1984 debut album, Fistful Of Metal , but was dismissed from the outfit later that year.

Commenting on his temporary return to the Anthrax lineup, Lilker says: “I’m really looking forward to jamming with Anthrax again.”

He jokingly adds: “When we parted ways back in 1984, they told me to stick around because they might need me in 40 years.”

In his 2014 autobiography I’m The Man: The Story Of That Guy From Anthrax , Ian describes Lilker’s firing from Anthrax 30 years prior as “the worst moment for me in the history” of the band. The decision, according to Ian, was then-vocalist Neil Turbin’s.

“The biggest dick move Neil ever pulled was when he fired Danny Lilker behind our backs after Fistful… came out in January 1984,” wrote Ian.

“The main reason he did it, in my opinion, was because Danny is taller than him. He honestly didn’t think someone should be taller than the frontman onstage. He thought it made him look bad, so he tried to stand as far away from Danny as possible, which was hard when we were playing stages the size of Ping-Pong tables.”

After his dismissal, Lilker started thrash band Nuclear Assault in 1984, where he contributes bass and backing vocals. He, Ian and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante worked together again in the crossover thrashers Stormtroopers Of Death (S.O.D.), who were active on-and-off between 1985 and 2007.

In addition, Lilker was a part of grindcore supergroup Brutal Truth from 1990 to 2014.

The full list of dates Anthrax will play with Lilker is available below. Tickets are now on sale.

Anthrax XL , Anthrax ’s 40th-anniversary livestream concert is released.  The release is now available digitally in the UK/Europe ( Nuclear Blast ), followed by a Blu-Ray release (inc. 2CD + 1Blu-Ray) on July 22nd.

Orders can be placed  HERE .   Also released today is the third track / video from the Livestream, “ Bring The Noise ,” featuring special guest  Chuck D , which can be viewed  HERE .  Originally released in 1991 on  Anthrax ’s  Attack of the Killer B ‘s  album, the song helped break down barriers when the band collaborated on the track with  Public Enemy .

Its success led to  Anthrax  and  Public Enemy  hitting the road together, opening many people’s eyes when they performed “ Bring The Noise ” together live, and birthing a rap-metal milestone.

Anthrax  celebrated its 40th-anniversary last year, July 18, 2021, but due to COVID, had to cancel its global touring plans, scheduled for the band to celebrate the occasion with their fans all around the world.

About to mark its 41st year, the band –  Joey Belladonna, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Charlie Benante  and guitarist  Jon Donais  are due to finally head out on that global anniversary tour.

On July 26,  Anthrax  will kick off its 26-date co-headline North American tour with  Black Label Society  and joined by  Hatebreed , and then heads to the UK and Europe in late September to headline a five-week run.

Tickets and VIP packages can be purchased at  anthrax.com   All dates are below.

July 18, 2021 marked  Anthrax ‘s 40th anniversary, during which time the band released 11 studio albums, was awarded multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, received six  GRAMMY  nominations, and a host of other accolades from the media, the music industry, and fans.

In 1991, the band helped break down race and genre barriers when they collaborated with  Public Enemy  on the track “ Bring The Noise ” and was the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played “ Got The Time ” to wake up the Mars Rover in 2012.

Along with  Metallica, Slayer,  and  Megadeth, Anthrax  is a card-carrying member of  The Big Four,  the four bands that defined the speed/thrash/metal genre.  Anthrax  has also introduced a series of now sold-out signature whiskeys and bourbons and partnered with the Stockholm-based NEZUMI Studios for a high-end, limited-edition Baleine dive watch.

Twenty-twenty-one also saw the release of Z2 Comics’ “ Among the Living ” graphic novel with a track-by-track storyline inspired by  Anthrax ‘s iconic 1987 album,  Among The Living .

The book pulls together a “who’s who” of names from the worlds of comics and music who created “bubble dialogue” and original artwork to express what the songs meant to them. Taking advantage of COVID-19’s prohibition of concert touring, the band has been hard at work writing the next  Anthrax  album.   For  Anthrax , 2022 is already off to a great start, but their 40th-anniversary isn’t quite in the band’s rear-view mirror.  Unable to launch a planned 40th-anniversary world tour due to COVID, the band will launch their 40th-anniversary World Tour this year.  The celebrations start July 26 in North America, co-headlining with  Black Label Society , then a headline trek in the UK and Europe in the fall with  Municipal Waste .

ANTHRAX's 40th-Anniversary Livestream To Be Released On Blu-ray, CD And Digital

July 18, 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of thrash metal pioneers ANTHRAX . The celebration began in May of last year and culminated on July 16-17 with a global livestream event shot at the Los Angeles soundstage/studio The Den . For two-plus hours, ANTHRAX performed an extensive set of hits and deep cuts pulled from their vast catalog. Today, ANTHRAX announces that the entire performance, plus never-before-seen rehearsal footage and guitarist Scott Ian 's New York City "walking tour," pointing out the spots that played a role in ANTHRAX 's formation and history, will be released in North America on July 15 on Blu-ray / CD / Digital ( Megaforce ). "Anthrax XL" will also have a European digital release on July 15 ( Nuclear Blast ),followed by a Blu-ray release later this year.

Also today, ANTHRAX serves up a taste of the "Anthrax XL: celebration livestream with "Aftershock" , the Blu-ray and CD's first single/video, that can be viewed below.

"Forty years doesn't feel like 40 years," said drummer Charlie Benante . "Sometimes, I have to remind myself about how long this strange trip has been. I enjoy playing these songs, they're such a huge part of my life, and I know for a lot of our fans, they play a big part in theirs as well."

From the night of the livestream, bassist Frank Bello recalled, "For me, each song was like reading through a scrapbook of my life and the band's career. Specifically, 'Madhouse' , one of my first recordings with the band, and then to where we are now with 'Blood Eagle Wings' . What a great ride it's been. I'm very grateful."

"Even though we were performing in a studio with just the crew there, we played that set like we were in front of 50,000 screaming fans," said vocalist Joey Belladonna . "I felt like we made a full-on connection with everyone watching from their homes or wherever, and that they connected with us. It was quite an intense experience."

Currently, ANTHRAX is about six months into its 41st year, and the band — Belladonna , Ian , Bello , Benante and guitarist Jon Donais — doesn't quite have their 40th-anniversary in the rear-view mirror. Said Ian , "We had planned to do a big 40th-anniversary world tour last year, but because of COVID, we couldn't. So we're doing our 40th anniversary this year, our 41st. We're starting in America in July, going out with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and HATEBREED , and then we headline a U.K. and European tour this fall. We're all really looking forward to being out on the road, playing shows and some deep cuts to celebrate our 40th with our fans."

The track listing for the "Anthrax XL" Blu-ray / CD / digital is as follows:

01. Time/Fight Em 'Til You Can't 02. Madhouse 03. Caught In A Mosh 04. Metal Thrashing Mad 05. Got The Time 06. I Am The Law 07. Keep It In The Family 08. Lone Justice 09. The Devil You Know 10. Be All End All 11. Now It's Dark 12. Antisocial 13. In The End 14. Medusa 15. Evil Twin 16. Indians 17. Skeletons In The Closet 18. Blood Eagle Wings 19. Bring The Noise 20. A.I.R. 21. Among The Living

Formed by Ian and bassist Dan Lilker in Queens, New York on July 18, 1981, ANTHRAX was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the East Coast and quickly became regarded as a leader in the genre alongside METALLICA , SLAYER and MEGADETH .

Active over the past five decades, ANTHRAX has released 11 studio albums, been awarded multiple gold and platinum certifications, received six Grammy nominations, toured the world since 1984 playing thousands of shows, including headlining Madison Square Garden and playing Yankee Stadium with the "Big Four".

ANTHRAX 's latest album, 2016's "For All Kings" , was called by some critics ANTHRAX 's strongest effort to date. Its arrival followed a five-year period during which the group experienced a rebirth of sorts, beginning with ANTHRAX 's inclusion on the "Big Four" tour, and continuing with the 2011 release of comeback LP "Worship Music" .

The post Anthrax and Black Label Society Announce 2023 North American Tour with Exodus appeared first on Consequence .

Anthrax and Black Label Society are heading back out for another leg of North American co-headlining tour dates in early 2023. This time, they’re bringing along Bay Area thrash pioneers Exodus .

The outing kicks off January 17th in Boise, Idaho, and runs through February 18th on Exodus’ home turf in Oakland, California. A Citi pre-sale begins today (November 1st) at noon ET, while Live Nation and Ticketmaster pre-sales begin Wednesday (November 2nd) at 10 a.m. local time using the code HEADLINE . General sales begin Friday (November 4th) at 10 a.m. local time. Pick up tickets via Ticketmaster .

In a band statement, Anthrax remarked, “We are so pumped to be hitting the road again with Black Label Society. We had such a great time when we toured with them earlier this year, that we had talked about doing it again when we were still on the road together. And, having the guys from Exodus on the bill as Special Guest, will definitely make this a tour not to miss.”

Black Label Society leader Zakk Wylde stated, “Anthrax is one of the bestest legendary metal/thrash bands of all time. I have been buds with Scotty, Charlie, Frankie, and Joey for over 3O years and they are some of the bestest people you will meet. Jon is the bestest new addition Anthrax could ask for. The ANTHRAX + BLACK LABEL SOCIETY & EXODUS TOUR is going to be one of the bestest tours ever!”

Added Exodus’ Gary Holt, “Exodus are super stoked to announce that we will be touring with Anthrax and Black Label Society. Touring with our long-time friends in Anthrax is always an epic good time, and now we get to tour with BLS and watch Zakk and company rip it up nightly too! Going to be awesome and we will be bringing our unique brand of audio violence to every city! Let the metal roll!”

Two for the Road: Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde and Anthrax’s Scott Ian Talk Pizza, Ozzy, and More

The initial run of Anthrax/Black Label Society dates was a heavy highlight of 2022. Prior to the kickoff, Zakk Wylde and Anthrax’s Scott Ian caught up with each other for Consequence ‘s “Two for the Road” video series , where they discussed the tour and reminisced about old times. We also witnessed the two acts throw down at Coney Island back in August. Suffice to say, adding Exodus to the bill makes this one of the strongest 2023 tour packages that has been announced thus far.

Below you can see the full list of dates for Anthrax and Black Label Society’s 2023 North American tour with Exodus, along with the “Two for the Road” conversation between Zakk Wylde and Scott Ian. Get tickets here .

On July 15, Anthrax will release Anthrax XL  — the " Big Four " thrash metal band's 40th anniversary livestream concert from last year — as both a live album and video album on digital, Blu-ray and CD formats.

The performance, shot on a Los Angeles soundstage last July, features a full set of hits and deep cuts from Anthrax's catalog. Along with an upcoming tour, the release rounds out the group's 40-year celebrations that began in 2021 with a retrospective web series .

On Wednesday (June 1), Anthrax issued the first single from Anthrax XL, the live version of "Aftershock," the blistering Side B opener from 1985's pivotal Spreading the Disease .

Watch the video down toward the bottom of this post.

"Forty years doesn't feel like 40 years," Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante remarked in a press release this week.  "Sometimes, I have to remind myself about how long this strange trip has been. I enjoy playing these songs — they're such a huge part of my life — and I know for a lot of our fans, they play a big part in theirs as well."

As for the livestream recording, lead singer  Joey Belladonna explained, "Even though we were performing in a studio with just the crew there, we played that set like we were in front of 50,000 screaming fans. I felt like we made a full-on connection with everyone watching from their homes or wherever, and that they connected with us."

Anthrax will hit the road this summer for a group of North American tour dates with  Black Label Society  and  Hatebreed . See the dates under the "Aftershock" video and album info.

40th Anniversary Tour: Anthrax, Black Label Society, and Exodus - Winnipeg, MB

Updated: Feb 27, 2023

January 24, 2023

Burton Cummings Theatre

A cold brisk night wasn't keeping metal fans at home as they flocked down to Winnipeg's legendary Burton Cummings Theatre to celebrate the big fortieth anniversary of thrash legends Anthrax with an utterly sold-out venue. The show had an earlier start time than most shows beginning at 6:30 PM, the night's first band -of a star-studded lineup. Exodus hit the stage to perform a nine-song set. This marks the second time the band's been back to Winnipeg in three months and also the second time the band's been to the city since the return of vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza in 2014. Bassist Jack Gibson, guitarist Gary Holt, drummer Tom Hunting, and guitarist Lee Altus round out the current lineup of Exodus.

The thrash icons have a discography that spans a strong thirty-six years the band performed songs from throughout their entire catalogue. They started strong with "The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)," off their latest offering, Persona Non Grata (2021). But the band kept the rowdy crowd entertained by performing their hits such as "Bonded By Blood," "A Lesson In Violence," "Blood In, Blood Out," and "The Toxic Waltz." Shortly before the end of the band's set, the thrashers called for the audience to split down the middle and participate in a wall of death during the fan favourite "The Toxic Waltz."

Black Label Society. Photos by Samuel Stevens Photography.

Second to the stage were the heavy metallers Black Label Society. The band currently consists of vocalist and guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist John "J.D." DeServio, drummer Jeff Fabb, and guitarist Dario Lorina. Following the same as Exodus, Black Label Society opened their powerful set with the song "Destroy & Conquer" off their most recent album, Doom Crew Inc. (2021). The band performed thirteen tracks from their eleven album discography, but the majority of their set was from the more recent albums, with tracks such as "A Love Unreal," "Stillborn," and "Suicide Messiah." However, the band did play "The Beginning... At Last," off their debut record, Sonic Brew (1999). Approximately halfway through their set, when Black Label performed the emotional piano metal ballad, "In This River," two banners dropped over the two giant stacks of guitar amps that dawned pictures of the late Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. It's no mystery that Wylde and Dimebag were close friends, and recently Wylde was recruited by the surviving members of Pantera -vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown- to hit the road to honour both Dime and Vinnie.

Anthrax. Photos by Samuel Stevens Photography.

Following Black Label Society was the one and only Anthrax. Also known as one of the thrash metal "Big Four" alongside the likes of Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. Anthrax is currently on a massive world tour to celebrate their big fortieth -or as Scott Ian said on stage, "We're more like fourty-one and a half now." The band is on the heels of their newly released live video and audio album, XL - released last summer on July 22, via Nuclear Blast, to be precise. It compiles the band's fortieth-anniversary live stream show, which was shot on a Los Angeles soundstage in 2021, and features a full set of hits and deep cuts from Anthrax's extensive catalogue.

Anthrax came to have another great time with the famously known Winnipeg crowd. This marks the first time Anthrax has been to Winnipeg in approximately four years when they last played at the Canada Life Centre -at the time known as Bell MTS Place- opening for their big four brothern Slayer on their farewell tour. Anthrax performed a chunk of their gems, starting huge with "Among the Living" and going straight into "Caught in a Mosh," which got the Winnipeg crowd riled up right off the bat. Some other songs performed were "I Am The Law," "Antisocial," "Got The Time," and the set-closing "Indians." Notably, before the band made their way off stage, the rambunctious Winnipeg audience began to sing the Canadian national anthem, "O' Canada," just as they did the last time they were here in Winnipeg.

The prestigious trophy is set to visit a total of 15 countries across four continents, gracing iconic stadiums and being celebrated by cricketing legends.

In addition to traditional cricketing powerhouses, the trophy will also journey to emerging cricketing nations like Brazil, Argentina, Canada, and others, aiming to foster greater interest and engagement with the sport.

Pakistan finds itself in Group A alongside arch-rivals India, with their highly anticipated clash scheduled for June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

Here are the groups for the T20 World Cup 2024:

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, United States
  • Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman
  • Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea
  • Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal

With 20 qualifying teams divided into four groups, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round. From there, the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals and ultimately compete in the final.

This edition of the T20 World Cup marks the first time since 2010 that the tournament will be hosted in the West Indies, while it also signifies the first time such a major cricket event will be held in the US.

England, as the defending champions from the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, will be aiming to retain their title against stiff competition.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

AMC Theatres , the world’s largest cinema chain, is leaning into distribution.

The company is expanding its distribution team with a key hire and promotion, underscoring its commitment to releasing its own movies in addition to showcasing titles from traditional and independent studios. AMC Theatres launched its distribution team with the premieres of last year’s concert films, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”

AMC is bolstering the team by promoting Kevin Arnold to VP of programming promotions and partnerships, effective immediately. Arnold, who joined AMC in 2011, has risen through the ranks in the film programming department. Now, he will oversees promotional strategies that aim to drive moviegoer engagement and increase ticket sales.

“The remarkable success of AMC Theatres Distribution last fall opened an exciting new business for AMC, and we are thrilled to have Stephanie Terifay’s expertise and enthusiasm build upon the brilliant leadership of Nikkole Denson-Randolph,” said Elizabeth Frank, AMC’s chief content officer. “Through the addition of Stephanie and the much-deserved elevation of Kevin Arnold, AMC Theatres Distribution is well positioned to continue to deliver exciting and compelling content to moviegoers at AMC and across the industry domestically and internationally.”

AMC seems to be heeding the advice of its unofficial box office queen: “Shake it off.”
