Explore Downtown Kelowna

Kelowna’s Downtown core is just north of the floating bridge by City Park and Hot Sands Beach. See the “Downtown Map” for parking. The lake side promenade extends from the bridge past Bernard Ave, the Marina, Waterfront Park Boat Lock and Tugboat Beach to the Rotary Marshes. Walk up Bernard Avenue, a popular downtown area lined with restaurants and shops. Visit the Kelowna Visitor Centre next to “The Sails” sculpture at the foot of Bernard Ave. Downtown is the place to be for lake side, roof top and patio restaurants, outdoor entertainment and night clubs. In the Cultural District, around the Grand Hotel, you will find museums, the art galleries, the library and the Rotary Centre for the Arts as well as more great restaurants.

Go for a sightseeing hike

Experience history, breathtaking panoramas and fabulous fun on the excellent hiking or biking trails in the mountains surrounding Kelowna. There are many levels of hiking options in the Okanagan. A couple of easy walks/rides close by: (1) Knox Mountain is minutes from downtown, at the north end of Ellis Street. Kelowna’s premiere natural park, the lookout looms close over downtown and provides an excellent view of Okanagan Lake. (2) Historic Myra Canyon on the famous Kettle Valley Railway is located in the mountains on the Southeast end of the city. It’s view is much higher than Knox and is also very popular with visitors. The drive up is approximately 30-40 minutes, an upward spiral of approximately 25 km. Bike Rentals available at the top from Myra Canyon Bike Rental Ph:1-250-878-8763 (May – October)

Wine Tasting

With acres of vineyards and over 35 wineries, Kelowna and West Kelowna are part of one of the ultra-premium wine producing regions in the world. Visit large and long-established wineries to small, intimate family farms. And it’s a great way to explore our beautiful region, even if you’re not a wine lover. You can do a self-guided or guided wine tour. A tour company can show you the special hidden gems, the new, the historic and the ‘tried and true’ wineries to visit. They can pick you up from your home or accommodations so you do not have to worry about drinking and driving. Don’t forget to read their TripAdvisor reviews to get an idea of what to expect, and book the tour online directly from the company website to get the best deal. If you choose to do your own tour, have a designated driver and do some research. Read the “Self-Guided Wine Tour Guide” section of the map or go to http://kelownaguide.com.

Relax on the Beach

Kelowna has miles of sandy beaches and 22 beachfront access parks. City Park and Tugboat Beach downtown are two of the most popular. Two popular beaches on Lakeshore road south of downtown are Boyce-Gyro and Rotary. All these beaches have amenities including grassy areas, boardwalks, picnic areas, playgrounds, concession stands, rentals and washroom facilities. City Park has a large kids water park. Much smaller beachfront access parks are found along Abbott Street and Lakeshore Road. Bear Creek Provincial Park is in West Kelowna down Westside Road next to the campground and a loop waterfall hiking trail. Also in West Kelowna are Kalamoir Beach, more secluded with lakefront trails, and Willow Beach, next to the Gellatly Bay walkway. Many more are not mentioned here- see the map.

Shop till you Drop

Along HWY 97 is the region’s largest indoor mall, Orchard Park Mall. It offers over 170 stores ranging from fashion, accessories, beauty products, and electronics as well as a 500 seat food court. Orchard Plaza has over 75 shops, restaurants and services, including Save on Foods, MEC, and Winners. It’s also home to a Famous Players 5 screen cinema. Several other shopping centers can be found along HWY 97. Downtown Kelowna is known for boutique shoe and clothing stores, a huge variety of restaurants, art galleries, great ice cream and gelato. In West Kelowna explore the big chain stores around the Westbank Hub Centre. Local goods can also be found at the wineries and at the Kelowna Farmers and Crafters Market – Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

Enjoy the Parks

Abundant green spaces are connected by biking trails and paths from Knox Mountain to Mission Creek Greenway, one of the Okanagan’s most accessible wilderness paths. Starting at Lakeshore Rd, the greenway winds along Mission Creek all the way to Gallaghers Canyon in East Kelowna. The first 7.5 km are flat and wide, popular with cyclists, dog walkers and runners. At the Springfield Road entrance to the park, you will find the EECO CENTRE. Further up is Scenic Canyon Regional Park. Hike on the well-maintained paths to discover historical treasures, see old rock ovens and abandoned gold pits. In West Kelowna just opposite Bear Creek Provincial Park campground, are several hiking trails that lead to the waterfalls, swimming holes and a view over the lake.

With over 2,000 hours of sun every year, Kelowna boasts one of the longest and driest golf seasons in the country. Several of the golf courses offer incredible views of the lake, while their clubhouses offer après golf dining experiences. Try Mission Creek Golf Course is a mature, mid length 18-hole golf course that borders the Mission Creek Greenway. For a unique experience in an Orchard setting or for evening golf, choose Orchard Greens, the only golf course to flood light the entire course. For a great putting course, try 19 Greens in West Kelowna, located just across the bridge. Scandia Golf & Games has both outdoor mini golf and indoor Jungle mini golf.

Play in the Lake

Imagine how welcome a dip in sky-blue Lake Okanagan feels on a warm sunny day. At 135 km long and 4 km wide, there’s plenty of room for everyone. Rent a canoe, try windsurfing, paddleboats, or jetsking. Note that a licence is required to operate any motorized watercraft. Local rental companies can assist you with your licence and basic instruction to help you have a safe and enjoyable time. Sunwave Boat Rentals offer a mobile delivery service that makes renting a boat quick and easy. They meet your group at a boat launch, complete a rental agreement and orientation and send you off to enjoy the lake. At Lakefront Sports Centre and you can rent a power boat from OkanaganRentaboat.ca, patio boat or Jetski at their dock by the boat launch at the Grand Hotel downtown or fly high with Okanagan Parasail Co.

Have fun indoors

Orchard Park Mall offers air conditioned indoor shopping. There are indoor playgrounds, attractions, wineries and arts and cultural venues. Downtown Museums include: Okanagan Heritage Museum, Okanagan Wine and Orchard Museum, Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame, Okanagan Military Museum and the Art Gallery. Performance Arts are alive at Kelowna Community Theatre (KCT), one of the Interior’s largest performing art venues and Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA). Fun is non-stop at Scandia Golf and Games with 130 arcade games, rides, a roller coaster simulator, bumper cars, Go-Karts, Canada’s largest mini-golf course and batting cages. Energyplex has it’s Cube, Trampolines, Gym, Rock Climbing, Ballistix, Laser Tag, Bungy Trampolines, Craft & Movie Corner and a Full Service Café.

All of our tours are available to adults 19 years and over. Please bring a photo ID for the tour.

A complimentary light lunch is included on our full-day wine tour (weather permitting). Typically, your lunch will include a selection of local meats and cheeses served at an award-winning winery.

Please bring photo ID, comfortable clothing for the day, a camera (if you wish), and all the enthusiasm you can muster!

Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll do our very best to accommodate your needs.

Ready for a delightful experience in Kelowna? We offer the perfect wine tour experience and book all tasting and lunch appointments. This is how wine tours work: our guide will pick you up from your accommodation in an immaculate vehicle and take you to the best wineries around the Okanagan Valley. During your tour, you'll enjoy beautiful tastings of various BC wines, explore each winery, snap some fantastic pictures, shop - and even more! Our friendly guide is also on hand to help take photos, carry bottles, recommend restaurants and entertainment spots - and anything else you might need before returning safely to your vacation home.

Wine tours offer an excellent way to taste wines while touring beautiful Okanagan vineyards. Our tours typically depart at 11 AM and last 5-6 hours. Express Wine Tours are 3 hours and leave at 11 AM (10:30 AM during summer) and 3 PM. Departure times are listed on each tour page.

A wine tour is perfect for a fantastic experience with excellent value and fun. We have over ten years of experience touring the Okanagan Valley at Wicked Wine Tours, so we know the best Kelowna wineries. We provide convenient pick-up and drop-off services so everyone can enjoy their tour without worrying about driving. You will also be accompanied by one of our experienced and knowledgeable guides - the best Tour Guides in the Okanagan!

Private wine tours are available for all tours .

Our wine tours are available all year round, giving guests unique opportunities to experience exclusive tastings and tours. Even during the cooler months, you can get up close and personal with the winemakers, explore behind-the-scenes experiences, and enjoy an intimate understanding of what wine tours in Kelowna have to offer.

Wine tours are ideal for bachelorette parties . We are Wicked, after all! Upgrade your wine tour to our Bachelorette Bliss package ! From upgraded tastings to private transportation, we have everything you need to make your Kelowna bachelorette one that your group will never forget.

Pick-up at Sparkling Hill Resort Vernon is available for an additional $150. Pick-up at Sparkling Hill Resort is not available for Express Wine Tours.

Winery and facility tasting fees are included in tour rates. The number and variety of wines offered at wineries are subject to change and are at their discretion. Most wineries provide 4-5 samples at each stop.

Wine tours exclude the cost of lunch. Wicked Wine Tours handles the restaurant reservations, and guests pay the restaurant directly. Dining requests are welcome but not guaranteed. Wicked Wine Tours is not responsible for communicating food allergies or dietary restrictions, and guests should inform the restaurant upon arrival. Most Okanagan restaurants offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking. Your Tour Guide will collect the balance of the payment after the tour. We accept cash and credit cards, including American Express, MasterCard, and Visa. Gratuities are NOT included - suggested gratuity: 15-25%. For groups of eight or more, private tours, and prepaid invoices, an 18% gratuity will be added. Split payments are available for small groups. For large groups, please organize payment in advance and present your Tour Guide with one payment method.

Plans sometimes change. We get it; it happens to us too. So we're happy to provide a hassle-free, 100% refund if you give us 48 hours' notice (24 hours' for shuttles). Within 48 hours, we've already started preparing for your tour, and we can't easily fill your slot, so we can't provide you with a refund in that case, and there is a 100% charge for the entire invoice. Very rarely, we're the ones that have to cancel. We'll try really, really hard not to, but if we do, we'll ask if you prefer to reschedule or have us refund you. Should government restrictions prevent tours from operating, reservations can be rescheduled or are 100% refundable. Private tours require seven days' notice for a 100% refund.

Wicked Wine Tours is proud to maintain a modern and immaculately maintained fleet. Our fleet includes late-model Ford Transit vans and Lincoln Navigator SUVs. With us, no bus!

Tours are available to book online all year for groups of any number. We can accommodate custom tours for group sizes up to 50: please get in touch with us for more assistance and a personalized quote. 

We are pleased to offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off at most Kelowna locations, including hotels, Airbnb, B&Bs, and residences. We aim to provide guests a safe and convenient service while ensuring adequate time is spent tasting and not riding in a vehicle!

We understand that our region offers various accommodation options outside our pick-up zone. Guests staying outside these areas may be eligible for pick-up for an additional $10-20 per person, depending on group size and requested location. These locations include:

Wine tours are fun for non-drinkers, too! We have special tour rates for adult guests who choose not to participate in wine tasting, and riders receive tasty, locally-made Motherlove Kombucha.

The consumption of alcohol in motor vehicles in British Columbia is against the law. We encourage you to have fun, but please be aware of local laws; safety is paramount.

We take great pride in maintaining an impeccable fleet. Outside food or beverages are not permitted. Complimentary bottled water is provided.

Tours are designed for guests of legal consumption age, and many appreciate the opportunity for an adult environment. Children under 19 are not permitted on public tours but may be allowed on private tours. Rotary Centre for the Arts offers summer art camps.

We love animals, too! For allergy and cleanliness reasons, pets are prohibited, no matter how well-trained or adorable.

Tours operate rain or shine. Wine tastings are usually inside tasting rooms, cellars, or under covered patios, and we offer complimentary umbrellas. Rainy days are an excellent time for wine tours: you're not missing a day on the beach or the golf course! Please dress accordingly.

Tour schedules are based on winery and restaurant availability and cannot be adjusted for public wine tours. However, private wine tours are available for custom itineraries and requests.

Reservations are available for single guests on most tours. Public tours require a minimum of two guests to operate. If the tour capacity is unmet, we will contact you to schedule an available tour or refund your deposit. Pick-up requests are not guaranteed for single guests. You may be asked to meet at a central location for pick-up/drop-off. If pick-up at your requested location is unavailable, we will contact you 24 hours before your tour to schedule an alternate location.
