Blur announce 2023 Wembley Stadium reunion gig

“We really love playing these songs and thought it's about time we did it again"

Blur have announced details of a one-off UK reunion gig at London’s Wembley Stadium for summer 2023. Check out details below and get tickets here .

The Britpop icons will be playing their only UK show of 2023 at the iconic venue on Saturday, July 8. The band will be supported by Slowthai , Self Esteem and Jockstrap . This marks the band’s first headline show since 2015, when they released their long-awaited and critically-acclaimed comeback album ‘ The Magic Whip ‘. Details of other world tour dates are currently unknown, except for a French festival date a few days before the Wembley show .

Tickets will go on general sale from 10am on Friday November 18 and will be available here .

Looking ahead to delivering a greatest hits set, frontman Damon Albarn said: “We really love playing these songs and thought it’s about time we did it again.”

Guitarist Graham Coxon agreed: “I’m really looking forward to playing with my Blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs. Blur live shows are always amazing for me: a nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces.”

Bassist Alex James, meanwhile, said: “There’s always something really special when the four of us get in a room. It’s nice to think that on July 8 that room will be Wembley Stadium.”

Drummer Dave Rowntree added: “After the chaos of the last few years, it’s great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer’s day in London. Hope to see you there.”

After going on hiatus following the world tour for 2003’s ‘ Think Tank ‘, then band first reunited in 2009 for a lengthy tour and Glastonbury headline performance .

This comes after  Albarn previously claimed to NME that the band had been in talks and “had an idea” of how to make their comeback,  before Rowntree teased that live activity would be on the cards if all members were “up for it” and  Coxon appeared to downplay the chances of a reunion .

Coxon, who recently released his autobiography Verse, Chorus, Monster !, is also set to release the debut album with THE WAEVE , his side-project with former  Pipettes  member-turned- Mark Ronson collaborator and singer-songwriter Rose Elinor Dougall.

After releasing acclaimed solo album ‘ The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows ‘ in 2021, Albarn will release new album ‘Cracker Island’ with Gorillaz in February.

Rowntree, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of his debut solo album ‘Radio Songs ‘.

Drake performs onstage with a mic in hand.

Just hold on, we’re going on tour.

After teasing a U.S.and Canada jaunt back in December, Drake has finally officially announced his summer 2023 ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage.

The Toronto-based rapper will play arenas all over North America from June through September .

“Ah, man, I can’t wait to see the people, “ Drake said in his late 2022 podcast appearance talking about his upcoming nationwide trek.

“It’s different when you’re performing, you look out in the crowd, someone locks eyes with you and you can just tell it’s a moment.”

Prior to the tour, Drake is scheduled to headline alongside J. Cole, Usher and Burna Boy at Raleigh, NC’s Dreamville Festival from April 1-2.

Then, midway through the 29-show run, Champagne Papi’s tour stops in New York City for four huge concerts — first up, he’ll play Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on July 17 and July 18 ; the next week, he swings into NYC’s Madison Square Garden for back-to-back gigs on July 25 and July 26 .

‘It’s All A Blur’ will be the hitmaker’s first since his 2018 “Aubrey & The Three Migos Live!” Tour.

And if you need to score tickets today, our “Motto” is that we’re here to help make that happen .

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 17, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Drake 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Drake opening acts

At all shows, Drake will be joined by his oft-collaborator 21 Savage.

The 30-year-old rapper is known for his singles “A Lot” and “Rich Flex” as well his verses on “Creepin'” and “Jimmy Cooks.”

Most recently, he put out the single “Peaches and Eggplants” with Young Nudy.

Drake set list

Although Drake hasn’t toured in five years, he did perform two nights at New York City’s Apollo Theater on Jan 21-22.

Each show was a true, all-out career retrospective — both nights, he played over 40 tracks including “One Dance,” “Passionfruit,” “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” “Started From The Bottom” and “Laugh Now, Cry Later” as well as a handful of surprising covers.

If you want to see what Drake played on both nights as well as what he’s played at every gig as far back as his first show in 2009, take a look at Set List FM .

Drake new music

Drake is nothing if not prolific.

In 2022, he released two albums, “Honestly, Nevermind” and “Her Loss.”

Before that, the Toronto native and former “Degrassi” star dropped the 21-song “Certified Lover Boy” in 2021.

This year, he collaborated with Popcaan on the sure to be club favorite single “We Caa Done.”

Update : Drake is continuing to give his fans what they want. The artist announced on Friday (April 28) that he’s adding three more shows in addition to the dozen he had already tacked on to his It’s All a Blur tour earlier in the week due to fan demand. He has now added second shows to Columbus, Ohio (July 2); Austin (Sept. 12); and Charlotte, N.C., (Sept. 23).

Original story below:

How Should Drake Feel About a No. 2 Debut for ‘Search & Rescue’?

The rapper also announced new dates in Columbus, Memphis, Denver, Austin and Charlotte, as well as announcing a new pair of back-to-back shows in his hometown of Toronto to close out the now 54-date tour at Scotiabank Arena on Oct. 5 and 7.

In the meantime, some dates have also shifted around. The New Orleans, Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Miami and Atlanta dates — which were originally slated to take place between June 16 and July 2 will be rescheduled to take place between Sept. 14 and Oct. 2.

The All a Blur tour is Drake’s first headline run since the 2018 Aubrey & the Three Migos tour. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale beginning with Cash App Card and Sprite presales beginning Wednesday (April 26) at 12 p.m. local time through 10 p.m. local time on Thursday (April 27) for Cash App and Thursday at 10 a.m. local time for the Sprite presale, which runs through 10 p.m. that day; click here for more presale information.
