2024 Insperity Invitational final results: Prize money payout, PGA Tour Champions leaderboard, how much each golfer won
T he 2024 Insperity Invitational final leaderboard is headed by winner Scott Dunlap, who topped the PGA Tour Champions leaderboard this week with a win on the 2024 PGA Tour Champions schedule at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.
Dunlap won the tournament after the weather prevented the final round from being played on Sunday. The Tour made the choice to shorten the event to 36 holes, all of which were played on a marathon Saturday.
Dunlap won on 9-under 135, which was better than Stuart Appleby and Joe Durant by a stroke.
Steve Alker and Thongchai Jaidee finished in a tie for fourth place on 7-under total.
Dunlap won the $405,000 winner's share of the $2,000,000 purse.
Insperity Invitational recap notes
Dunlap wins the ninth PGA Tour Champions title of the year, getting into the winner's circle on the 50-plus tour.
The money Dunlap -- and every player in the field -- earned is converted into Charles Schwab Cup points, with every dollar converted into two points during the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs.
There is no cut on PGA Tour Champions-run events, including the major championships they run. Every pro who finished the tournament was paid.
The 2024 PGA Tour Champions schedule continues next week with the Regions Tradition in Alabama.

2024 PGA Championship odds, favorites: Scottie Scheffler on top with Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka close behind
The world no. 1 hasn't been seen in a competitive setting over the last month entering valhalla.
The man who donned the green jacket is the man to beat at the 2024 PGA Championship. Scottie Scheffler heads into the second major championship of the season as the clear-cut favorite to raise the Wanamaker Trophy, all as talks of a grand slam bid circulate the world No. 1.
Scheffler arrives at Valhalla Golf Club as a winner across four of his last five tournament starts, including his last two, the latest coming the week following the Masters at the RBC Heritage. Scheffler has not been seen since as he has tended to family matters and the birth of his first child.
Competitive rust is highly unlikely, but if Scheffler is slightly off, it does open the door for others to step through. No one else has a greater chance to step into the winner's circle Brooks Koepka. The reigning PGA champion eyes his third successful defense in a major, and he will look to grab his sixth such title at Valhalla. A win would pull Koepka alongside legends of the game like Phil Mickelson, Seve Ballesteros and Nick Faldo in terms of major titles.
Someone who can tie Koepka is the man who raised the Wanamaker Trophy the last time this major was played in Louisville. Rory McIlroy, fresh off his fourth career win at Quail Hollow and coming off back-to-back victories overall (Zurich Classic, alongside Shane Lowry) is rounding into form at the exact right time. Now 10 years removed from his last major, McIlroy hopes to reenter the winner's circle on the major stage at the site of his last such win.
Two-time major champion Collin Morikawa, reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele and a slew of others are among likely candidates to contend this week in the Bluegrass State. Let's take a look.
2024 PGA Championship odds, favorites
- Scottie Scheffler: 4-1
In his 15 major appearances since the start of 2020, Scheffler has two wins and eight other top-10 finishes. A pair of those have come at the PGA Championship where he finished T4 at Harding Park and runner-up last season at Oak Hill after possessing the lead through the halfway point. There might not be anything that can stop him at the moment, though the last time he won the Masters, he did miss the cut when the PGA was played at Southern Hills.
- Rory McIlroy: 7-1
- Brooks Koepka: 12-1
- Jon Rahm: 16-1
- Xander Schauffele: 16-1
- Ludvig Åberg: 16-1
Do you want the guy who won the last PGA Championship or the guy who won the last PGA Championship at Valhalla? Koepka comes into his title defense fresh off a win on LIV Golf, seemingly pushing his early season putting woes behind him. He's a tough defender and has entered the final round of every PGA Championship since 2018 with a chance to win -- if you remove the 2022 tournament where he was injured.
As for McIlroy, he has turned a corner since the Masters with his driver peaking and his iron play following suit. His major championship record since the start of 2022 has been stellar with three podium finishes and four other top 10s, including a pair in the last two PGAs. Oh, and the last time he won three times in a row was 2014 with the PGA Championship at Valhalla serving as the third victory.
- Bryson DeChambeau: 22-1
- Collin Morikawa: 22-1
- Max Homa: 30-1
- Joaquin Niemann: 33-1
- Cameron Smith: 35-1
- Viktor Hovland: 35-1
- Patrick Cantlay: 35-1
- Wyndham Clark: 40-1
- Tommy Fleetwood: 40-1
- Justin Thomas: 40-1
- Cameron Young: 40-1
- Hideki Matsuyama: 45-1
Just about every player in this group is capable of winning a major championship, but which can you trust? Is it DeChambeau who raced out to the first-round lead at the Masters and last year's PGA Championship en route to quality results? Maybe it is Clark, who despite his boom-or-bust nature, has contended at some of the biggest golf tournaments this season and has proven to not be afraid of the limelight.
- Will Zalatoris: 55-1
- Jason Day: 55-1
- Dustin Johnson: 60-1
- Jordan Spieth: 60-1
- Tyrrell Hatton: 60-1
- Sungjae Im: 65-1
- Min Woo Lee: 65-1
- Byeong Hun An: 70-1
- Sahith Theegala: 70-1
- Matt Fitzpatrick: 70-1
- Tony Finau: 80-1
- Talor Gooch: 90-1
- Sam Burns: 90-1
- Shane Lowry: 90-1
Spieth is the star of this crop as he goes for the career grand slam at a time when expectations may never be lower. He has struggled with his game since late winter with four missed cuts and a disqualification in his last nine starts. Spieth's iron play has been poor, and his wrist injury is worrisome. Speaking of injuries, Zalatoris could be ripe for a longshot selection if everything falls in his favor. In 10 majors as a professional, he has three runners-up finishes and four other top-10 results.
- Corey Conners: 100-1
- Sepp Straka: 110-1
- Si Woo Kim: 120-1
- Adam Scott: 120-1
- Russell Henley: 120-1
- Tom Kim: 120-1
- Dean Burmester: 150-1
- Rickie Fowler: 150-1
- Alex Noren: 150-1
- Akshay Bhatia: 150-1
- Brian Harman: 150-1
- Nicolai Hojgaard: 150-1
- Patrick Reed: 150-1
There's a player here who has made nine straight major cuts and tees it up in his 41st consecutive major this week. That player is Reed. The former Masters champion has a sneaky-good major championship resume with a T4 at last year's Masters and T18 at Oak Hill. He will need to drive the ball well for his standards, but Reed remains in possession of some of the best hands in golf which should be useful around Valhalla.
- Stephan Jaeger: 170-1
- Denny McCarthy: 170-1
- Tiger Woods: 170-1
- Keith Mitchell: 200-1
- Cam Davis: 200-1
- Christiaan Bezuidenhout: 200-1
- Jake Knapp: 220-1
- J.T. Poston: 220-1
- Harris English: 220-1
- Billy Horschel: 220-1
- Tom Hoge: 250-1
- Lucas Herbert: 250-1
- Mackenzie Hughes: 250-1
- Chris Kirk: 250-1
- Kurt Kitayama: 250-1
- Phil Mickelson: 250-1

2024 PGA Championship sleeper picks: Here’s who might break out at Valhalla
- Follow on Twitter
The PGA Championship Wanamaker Trophy on the 18th tee at Valhalla.
Getty Images
The average height of the PGA Championship winner? Five-foot-nine.
The most successful astrological sign? Capricorn.
Did the champion wear a baseball hat? About half did.
This week, as the year’s second major tees off at Valhalla, going about trying to pick a sleeper can be laborious, simply because we are skipping past the obvious contenders and scrolling down to the underdogs, whose odds number tend to match their warts tally. Digging is demanded in this exercise — and the good folks at sportshandle.com have, should you believe in their data.
Their complete research can be found here , where you’ll find the following on previous champions — which may help you unearth a gem:
— Average age
— Country of birth
— State of birth, should the winner have been born in the U.S.
— Average height, as noted above
— Average weight
— The most common first-name initial
— The most common birth month
— The most common star sign, as noted above
— Whether they attended college
— Whether they wore a short-sleeved golf polo shirt on the final day
— The color of their shirt on the final day
— The most common clothing sponsor
— Whether they wore a baseball hat on the final day
Good stuff. With that, let’s continue to mine. Below, members of our staff have each made a long-shot selection to assist you with your own weekly picks , whether those are for a low-stakes office fantasy league, or (legal!) big-bucks bets with a sportsbook. It’s an enjoyable endeavor for us. Deploy it as you wish.
On to our analysis.
2024 PGA Championship sleeper picks to watch
PGA Tour golfers aren't the only ones who can make some 💰 starting next Thursday. You can too! Here are a few tips. https://t.co/uldLYRZvRh — Nick Piastowski (@nickpia) June 5, 2020
Ryan Barath
Sleeper pick: Jake Knapp, +15,000. Jake absolutely smashes the golf ball, and that will be a huge advantage at Valhalla. He had a good showing a couple of weeks ago at the Byron Nelson, and he’s already won this year, so I’m willing to bet that he could have a sleeper’s chance in Louisville.
Adam Christensen
Sleeper pick: Sam Burns, +6,600. His early season form has disappeared the past few events, but Burns has the type of game that can thrive at Valhalla. If he can be above average with his mid-irons and wedges, he will put himself into the mix on the weekend.
James Colgan
Sleeper pick: Jake Knapp +15,000. I feel like Knapp has some shock factor in his game, and any of us who’ve been paying attention to the week-to-week proceedings of the PGA Tour know he can certainly score.
Dylan Dethier
Sleeper pick: Akshay Bhatia, +10,000. He’s been consistently good and for one week was notably great. He’s also made it clear: He’s hunting majors. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him in the mix.
Emma Devine
Sleeper pick: Jason Day, +5,500. With a handful of top-10 finishes under his belt this year, I think it’s about time Day hoists up that trophy, rocking those sweet Malbon pants.
Nick Dimengo
Sleeper pick: Cameron Young, +4,000. I’m still convinced that the 27-year-old Young is the best young golfer in the game, and his previous finishes in majors give me confidence that he’ll get one of his own soon. With a T9 at this Masters, Young has now placed within the top 10 in five majors in his career, along with two T3 finishes. Now it’s time to finish the job.
Connor Federico
Sleeper pick: Justin Thomas, +4,000. You’re welcome to disagree that these 40-1 odds make Thomas a long-shot pick, but he’s certainly worth a mention. Thomas missed last year’s playoffs and hasn’t won an event since the 2022 PGA Championship, but what better place to get his career back on track than in his hometown of Louisville? Justin just got his very own hometown hero award this week, so here’s to hoping he can turn that into positive momentum on the golf course.
How often favorites win tournaments (and when to bet on them)
Jack Hirsh
Sleeper pick: Sahith Theegala, +5,500. Theegala is the highest-ranked player in the FedEx Cup standings this season without a victory this year. He’s already proven he can win on Tour with his win in Napa last fall. Would love to see Team Theegala take over Louisville as the 26-year-old takes his next step with his first major title.
Jessica Marksbury
Sleeper pick: Sahith Theegala, +5,500. This feels like a very nice price for Sahith! He’s had five top-10s in 12 events this year, including two runner-ups. And as our betting expert Brady Kannon noted last week, as of the Wells Fargo, Theegala is coming up big in all the important categories, including SG: Off the Tee, Greens in Regulation Gained and Scrambling. He seems due for a big one, and this could be the week.
Zephyr Melton
Sleeper pick: Dean Burmester, +10,000. Burmester is having a sneaky good season this year playing on the LIV circuit with three top 10s, including a win in Miami, as he sits third in the season-long standings. It remains to be seen if his game will hold up under major pressure, but it’s impossible to argue with his form.
Nick Piastowski
Sleeper pick: Nicolai Hojgaard, +12,500. I love these odds. He’ll contend.
Sleeper pick: Sahith Theegala. +6,600. I’d be surprised if Scheffler’s newborn baby doesn’t nab at least a T25, but since I don’t see those odds on the board, I’ll go with another youngster with a ton of natural talent who has acquitted himself well in a few majors already. Theegala is the real deal. Just a matter of time before he wins a biggie. He’s a tempting play at this number.
