Crowded House Announce North American Tour 

Following their 2023 North American Tour, Crowded House will hit the road again for a trek spanning from late summer through fall in support of their upcoming album, Gravity Stars .

The 15-city run will kick off August 29 at The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine and then head to several cities across North America including Atlanta, New York, Niagara Falls, Highland Park, Bend, and more before wrapping in Paso Robles on September 28 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre.

The band is gearing up to release their forthcoming eighth record Gravity Stairs , due May 31. They already unveiled two tracks from the album, “Oh Hi” and the recent release “Teenage Summer.” Their 2021 album, Dreamers Are Waiting , fulfilled fans’ longing for new music, marking their first output in 11 years after the release of Intriguer in 2010.

Crowded House formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1985 and first tasted global success with their massive 1987 hit “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” They continued to drop hits for a decade, including “Something So Strong,” “Weather With You,” and “It’s Only Natural.”

In Australia, the band won 13 ARIA Awards (The Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards, an annual event celebrating the Australian music industry) from 36 nominations.

Ahead of their North American run, Crowded House will tour across the United Kingdom at multiple venues throughout June. Tickets for the run are available via the band’s official website . Additionally, a presale is set for Tuesday, April 16 (use code RIFF), ahead of a public ticket on-sale on Friday, April 19.

Crowded House announce rescheduled North America tour dates

The band had postponed the original run after Elroy Finn was injured

Crowded House have shared details for the rescheduled North American leg of their ‘Dreamers Are Waiting’ tour, now set to commence in 2023.

Kicking off in Canada at Vancouver’s Orpheum, Crowded House will then undertake a further 17 shows throughout the month, including two back-to-back performances at Los Angeles’ Wiltern. Find all dates below.

The North American leg was originally due to commence in Philadelphia last month, but was postponed after drummer Elroy Finn sustained a “painful” injury to his lower back.

At the time, frontman Neil Finn said: “We are advised that there may be some risk in the recovery process for him to play shows at this time. The good health and future well-being of the band members has to be our priority.”

Tickets for original show dates remain valid for the new run. Remaining tickets are on sale now for all new shows, available here .

The tour comes in support of (and is named for) Crowded House’s seventh album, last year’s ‘Dreamers Are Waiting’. The release marked Crowded House’s first album in 11 years, heralded by its lead single ‘To The Island’ .

Crowded House Reschedule North American Tour to 2023

It had been pushed back due to their drummer's lower back injury

Crowded House recently announced they would have to postpone their  first North American tour in 12 years due to their drummer’s lower back injury , and now the band has revealed the trek is being pushed to 2023.

The rescheduled “Dreamers Are Waiting” leg now kicks off May 2nd in Vancouver. It includes shows in New York City, Chicago, Toronto, Nashville, Los Angeles, and more before wrapping in Boston on May 30th.

See the full itinerary below. Previously purchased tickets are valid for the rescheduled dates. Tickets are available now for the majority of the shows via Ticketmaster , with additional seats for dates in Los Angeles and Oakland opening up on Friday, September 23rd at 10:00 a.m. local time.

The upcoming tour is in support of Crowded House’s comeback album, 2021’s Dreamers Are Waiting , which marked the band’s first release in 11 years. Frontman Neil Finn guested on Kyle Meredith With… last year to discuss how his time in Fleetwood Mac influenced the making of the album. He also appeared on  The Story Behind the Song to break down the origins of Crowded House’s signature song, “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”

My friends and I still rave about Crowded House’s "Farewell to the World" show on the steps of the Sydney Opera House in 1996, 11 years after they formed. It was a free show on the Harbour Foreshore, with 200,000 people, yet you felt like you were watching them in your living room.

There’s a DVD of the show that was released to celebrate its’ tenth anniversary. The last song they sang was “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. The camera pans into the audience and there I am, in the very front row, crying and singing my heart out “Hey now, Hey How, When the world comes in”. It’s so raw and emotional, watching it still makes me shiver.

Neil Finn is an incredibly talented and prolific songwriter, also writing and performing solo, and alongside his brother Tim for the “Finn Brothers”. Every Crowded House song is such perfectly crafted pop, simple, pared back and so beautiful - from their earlier hits with “Something So Strong” and “Better Be Home Soon” through to “Saturday Sun” off their 2010 album "Intriguer". They reformed in 2006 with Matt Sherrod on drums. Their touring days have slowed, so you’d better catch these legends when they next pass by.

Saw Crowded House @ the Opera House on Thursday (24/11/16). Wow. Neil and the crew sound better than ever. They played all the classics, the crowd was so involved. We sang along and danced, screamed. Tim came on for a few songs too, so that was great. Definitely the best concert I've been to. First time I've been to the opera house forecourt for a concert too, beautiful venue, sound was good too.

I had the pleasure of seeing Crowded House on 2 separate occasions in Wales, when the late Paul Hester was alive. Incredible band with wonderful humour and Neil Finn has always been a god in my eyes. :-)

Live Review: Crowded House @ Orpheum Theatre, Vancouver – May 2nd 2023

Vancouver was the first city on the rescheduled ‘Dreamers Are Waiting” North American leg of their tour from 2020 (which was previously postponed due to drummer Elroy Finns back injury). This tour is in support of their seventh Album, ‘Dreamers Are Waiting’. Which was their first album in 11 years, with the single ’To The Island” which has received some considerable praise.

Being the first show of an 18 date Canada/USA stretch there were no major glitches, which shows that they (band/crew) were well prepared. Original members Neil Finn (Vox/guitar), and Nick Seymour (bass) showcased a comfort level between them, as one would expect from a bandmember-ship / friendship that the many years playing together brings. The mid-song banter was somewhat minimal, allowing the songs and setlist to showcase the live performance. But some banter involved  how to pronounce “Crowded House” in varied accents such as Canadian versus South African, or discussing the need to remember to have adequate water intake during their performance

It was a happy night. One woman came up to me prior to the show and told me how her husband surprised her with 3rd row seats as she was just so happy to see them. They were her youthful love, the songs and all the wonderful feeling and memories that they provided to her. She said it was a so meaningful for her to see Crowded House live and actually got very emotional about it. Others, such as myself, have never seen them live but was thankful for the opportunity.

Obviously the audience loved the favourites of “ Don’t Dream It’s over, Something So Strong, and Better Be Home Soon”, but the added surprise was them performing the Split Enz “Six months in a leaky boat” in the middle of “Weather With You”. A big surprise and highlight! They said on their Instagram that he sometimes does that with random songs without telling the band, and they have to be paying attention to it.

Neil Finn’s vocals and the musicianship of the band was on point throughout the evening. Nick Seymour (bass) was the only one who managed to move to various locations on stage, yes a bassist moves. Imagine that 🙂 

My only personal wish was that they performed my fave “Into Temptation”. But with their extensive catalogue I can understand why they did not.

For those interested in stage schematics – Visually the stage was adorned with 3 Persian carpets for each member in the front (guitarist Liam Finn, Neil Finn, Nick Seymour), with keys, drums and percussion behind (Mitchell Froom, Elroy Finn, performer unknown). The lighting and design were minimal, and warm, with flowing flower shape lights blending slowly and mixing with the three back multi-rotational LEDs. The sound was impeccable, as the Orpheum is such a perfect venue to showcase of this. There were times when the audience was singing and it just blended beautifully.  This was an evening of watching a band perform songs they love for an appreciative audience that holds those same songs so dear. I watched the varied ages of people around me sing a long to the bands songs with fevor, and that is always a great thing. You go to a concert to see a performer/s sing a song you love, isn’t it?

Crowded House had the Orpheum packed, and audience appreciating every musical moment, and singing along to the music that the much loved band provided. Happy time.

Good review and excellent pics, sounds like a good show!

It was a terrific concert. Finally got to see them live, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! Nick Seymour is a character, and fun to watch,…..always moving, and smiling!

My wife and I went to the show in Oakland at the beautiful Fox Theater. Great show, and thanks for the photos – great shots!

Crowded House have confirmed a 2024 North American tour in support of their upcoming album, Gravity Stars .

The late summer jaunt kicks off in St. Augustine, FL on August 29th, with additional shows scheduled Atlanta, New York, Niagara Falls, Chicago, Omaha, Vail, and beyond.

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale is set for Tuesday, April 16th (use code RIFF ), ahead of a public ticket on-sale on Friday, April 19th via Ticketmaster .

Once tickets are on sale, fans can look for deals or get tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Gravity Stairs is set for release on May 31st via BMG. After initially previewing the album with lead single “Oh Hi,”  the band has now unveiled “Teenage Summer,” which you can stream below.

Crowded House are gearing up to release their new album Gravity Stairs (out May 31 on BMG ), and have now accordingly announced a North American tour behind the record. It includes a single Canadian stop in Niagara Falls this September.

The month-long stint on the road kicks off on August 29 in Saint Augustine, FL. The band's lone venture into Canada comes ahead of the halfway point, with them crossing the border to perform at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara on September 8. As per, the remainder of the dates will be completed stateside and are currently set to wrap on September 28 in Paso Robles, CA.

Tickets go on sale to the general public next Friday (April 19), with various presales getting underway tomorrow (April 12) at 10 a.m. local. See the itinerary in full below.

Let's get real, ok it is nice; but too crowded, all signs are written in Russian (Cyrillic alphabet), nobody speaks English (mean metro employees). Got lost every other time I took a train there.

We had an amazing tour with the Metro, going through several monumental metro stations. Each station has its special features, which in other countries would be considered museum pieces and national treasures - here in Moscow part of the transportation network. An amazing experience to travel in this old, yet extremely well maintained and super clean and beautiful public means of transportation.

Our day tour of Moscow also included a tour of the subways. Our guide bought our tickets and explained how we would ride the subway and get off at each station he wanted us to see. We went to five different stations and each time the architecture was different. Marble, chandeliers, frescoes, paintings etc. They were built as 'people's palaces' and that is just what they are.

It can be confusing but it is worth the trouble of negotiating your way round to see the beautiful architecture in the metro. It is easier if you stick to looking at the lower case letters of the stations under the main signs .Some of the underground is very underground indeed with long steep escalators.

Have you ever taken your local Metro? Working in Stockholm I've had my share of filth, weird people and dull walls. Before I planned my visit to Moscow I knew that the Moscow Metro was known to be very beautiful. But I was not prepared for what I had coming. My guide Elena from "Moscow Free Tour" was a happy camper and was trying to get me to tag along her next tour within the Metro, I shrug and really didn't see the point- I've been riding trains since I was a kid. Long story short, she talked me into it, and boy am I glad she did! The Tour I took was a short one, compared to how many stops the metro actually have. I think we visited around 5-7 different stations but according to Elena, the most beautiful and interesting ones. Not ruining all the fun, I will not spoil the most crucial parts of the metro as some things are best experienced in real life. But did you know during the WWII, the metro was working as bunkers for the Soviet soldiers? That even today, some of the statues are being used for special purposes even in modern time Russia? If you feel adventurous I would suggest that you use the metro instead of busses or taxi, especially considering how cheap it is- a one-way ticket costs 50RUB (approximately 0,6€/0,5£/0,7$)! The metro map has a logic when you're getting used to it, in case you're going the wrong way there are a "brown line" that is going like a circle uniting all the different lines. Be adviced, the stations are in Russian only. Though, looking on the ground under the signs, the very station you're on is written in latin letters. If you're uncertain which way you should go, don't be afraid to ask- stating you're a tourist that are looking for a certain station will make the locals try to help. If your flight leave from Sheremetyevo (SVO), there's an Aeroexpress train leaving from metro station Belarousskaya and it takes approximately 30 minutes, the Aeroexpress goes to the other two airports aswell- please visit the trains website for schedule and price. There are also a special metro police that are strolling around in groups, very helpfull- these officers tend to be pretty young, leaving at least one of them knowing some English, mostly. Please notice the sense of the life being a commuter- in rush hour there are a lot of people, but at least I thought it was a very calm touch comparing to how stressed I could be on the Stockholm subway. Also, you won't find any trash on the ground, despite the lack of trash cans which was taken away over 40 years ago during a bombing in the Soviet era. There are rumors stating that there is a possibility of English signs in the metro next year as Russia will be the host of Fifa World Cup in a few years. Most hotels, guides and tourist traps have the metro map on the back of a city map in case you need the letters in English. I will include a picture of this. Feel free to ask any questions about the metro.

The metro system in Moscow is highly efficient with very frequent and fast trains connect every nook and corner of the city. The stations are really beautiful and really crowded. The most interesting was the length of the escalators ranging to 125 metres. You won't see any English language signboards in the metro stations though, thus its a bit difficult to understand the routes meticulously. However, it did enhance our Russian language skills!! We took the 3 day smart card for 400 Rubles and travelled unlimited for 3 days.
