Cruise Liverpool has shared its schedule of vessels sailing into the River Mersey this year

Liverpool Cruise Terminal is expected to welcome more than 100 cruises in 2022; it's most ambitious season yet.

Despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which led to the cancellation of cruises worldwide for almost 14 months, there is optimism that this year’s season will be bigger and better than ever.

Throughout 2022, more than 20 different cruise ships are expected to visit Liverpool , including 10 inaugural visits such as the Valiant Lady, Celebrity Apex and Norwegian Dawn.

The season will get into full swing in March, with a visit from Virgin Voyages, and will also include visits from the Queen Victoria and the always-popular Disney Magic.

Fred Olsen will also return, having chosen Liverpool as its homeport for its flagship Borealis ship for a second season.

While uncertainty remains around coronavirus, Cruise Liverpool will maintain its ‘satellite’ terminal at the Arena and Convention Centre for the foreseeable future, giving passengers and operators a safe and speedy way of joining or leaving a cruise.

Cruise Liverpool’s 2022 season is expected to provide a £15 million boost to the local economy.

John Mawer, head of Cruise Operations at Cruise Liverpool, said: “We are looking forward to marking the 15th birthday of Liverpool’s Cruise Terminal later this year, and what better way to do it than ensuring record ships and passengers visiting our shores and enjoying the famous Liverpool welcome.

"We also want 2022 to be the year when we make progress in reducing the environmental impact of the ships on the city, there’s a long way to go but talks are already underway and I’m excited to be a part of the conversation on behalf of Liverpool."

Liverpool's cruise berth officially opened on September 21st 2007. The berth is just a 5-10 minute walk from the World Heritage City center, whilst England's beautiful Northwest region is practically on the door step. A new permanent cruise terminal has been replaced the old facility in 2023. This terminal is only a block or two away from the existing terminal.

The berth is at Princes Dock. A 3 minute walk south to Pier Head, where in summer there is a fair with many rides, a rather lively area. Another 8 minute walk south, you will find the beautiful restored Albert Dock with The Beatles Story Museum and the Mersey side Maritime Museum and many restaurants and cafes in a very pleasant area. Right next to the Albert dock you will find Wheel of Liverpool , a huge ferris wheel with great views.

If the weather is nice, the above area is certainly good for a few hours of fun and relaxation.

Sightseeing:

Liverpool is not only the birth place of the Beatles but is also a cultural capital, with more national museums, theatres and galleries than any other UK city outside London.

Sport is a passion too with two Premiership soccer clubs and home to the world's most famous steeplechase, The Grand National. The Northwest region is known as England's Golf Coast.

Liverpool has splendid country houses, exciting sporting events and fascinating reminders of the area's maritime heritage, but nearby you'll also find the Roman City of Chester, contemporary Manchester and the stunning landscapes of Lancashire and the Lake District.

All over the town (on nearly every corner of the downtown area) are big poles with arrows that would point in the direction of where sights are and not only would have the name of the sight, but the distance to that sight and the amount of minutes to walk there.

Hop-on-and-off bus When a cruise ship is in port the buses leave every 15 minutes. As guides are "real": only English spoken and no earphones.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Launches Summer 2024 Sale

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines announced its new Summer Sale offering savings on selected 2024 cruises.

The Summer Sale offers savings on 40 voyages sailing between July and December 2024, as well as the chance to add a drinks package for just £20 per person per night on selected cruises. The offer is valid for new bookings made by June 26.

Solo travelers can also take advantage of other promotions, including 0 percent single supplements on selected cabin grades and sailings.

Yaroslavl is a Volga RIver cruise port and city in Russia, located approx 250 km (160 ml) northeast of the country's capital Moscow . The city is at the confluence of Volga and Kotorosl rivers, and has population around 600,000.

Yaroslavl is one of the 8 cities of Russia's Golden Ring, a group of historic cities located northeast of Moscow which have played a major role in Russian history. The city lies on the north-eastern side of the 'ring' and is the largest in its chain. Whilst Yaroslavl is best known for its architecture, it also features a relatively large repertoire of attractions.

Despite the effects of Russian Civil War and several air-raids during WWII, the city has managed to retain a big part of its 17th, 18th and 19th century substance. This has helped make Yaroslavl recognizable as an architectural monument to the style of Russian Tsardom. The center of Yaroslavl, which covers an area of around 600 ha, has about 140 federally-protected architectural monuments. This ensemble, together with city's Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery has been included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 2005. Despite all this, there are several buildings of architectural merit located outside the city center.

Yaroslavl River Port features an annual import average of about 3.5 million tonnes of freight per year. Climatic conditions allow it to be used for 6 months per year, from May to late October. Yaroslavl River Port caters not only for bigger river cruise ships that stop off in the city during their journey up or down Volga River, but also to regular services that link the city of Yaroslavl with Bakarevo, Breytovo, Konstantinovo, Novye Chentsy and Tolga.
