BATEMANS BAY is the northern most of the three main towns in Eurobodalla.  It is at the cross roads of the Princes Highway and the Kings Highway which melds visitors from the north as well as from the west including the ACT and south west NSW. The Bay has a very rich history and has long been the holiday destination for families coming to the coast from inland attracted by the many beaches, rivers and lakes and over several generations they have built holiday homes along the coastal strip that runs south along the picturesque 40 km coastline to Moruya. This is a drive worth taking.  Batemans Bay has become the principle town of the South Coast and offers most of what a visitor might require in entertainment, provisions and services. There is a wide variety of accommodations available in the town along with a good representation of restaurants, cafes and coffee bars. The best way to begin your explore of the town is by taking a stroll along the Murra Mia Walkway that follows the Clyde River's edge from Batemans Bay Bridge to the far end of town via a forefront of jetties, cafes and shops.

A cycleway leads to from Batemans Bay CBD along the Clyde foreshore to Batehaven. In the other direction you can cross the Batemans Bay Bridge to Korners Park Then along the roadway to the end of Myamba Pde and explore the Cullendulla Boardwalk. Approx 18 kms of cycling. Nelligan River cruise

On a cloudy day when the weather wasn’t great for 4 kids to go to the beach, it was a lovely way to spend a few hours. Lunch was delicious and the staff were friendly. It was good to hear a bit of history about the place as well

We took our 4 year old grand daughter for the 3 hour cruise in August. This was the second time we had been on the cruise. The day was sunny and fresh which made for a relaxing, enjoyable way to experience the winding river up to Nelligan. Fish, chips and salad with some extra fruit and snacks were shared with a ice cream to enjoy at the stop at Nelligan. The Captain allowed our grand daughter to 'steer' the boat and passing under the bridge with waves from the controllers added to the fun.

Taking my elderly mother on and off board was my biggest fear but this was removed as the staff were more than helpful to assist. We loved the cruise and hearing about the history of the area and the oyster farming in the region. Lunch was served hot and fresh, straight from Innes Boatshed. Couldn't ask for anything else. Relaxing. Scenic, talks informative. Will definitely be doing again!

We had a fantastic trip on board The Escapade travelling up the Clyde River with a fish and chips lunch and back to Batemans Bay. Beautiful scenery along the way and a stopover at Nelligen. We rang and booked ahead but paid at The Boatshed on the morning. Great commentary and friendly crew. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunchtime cruise on the Escapade taking in the beauty of the Clyde River and the associated National Park. Lunch was fish, chips and salad on board as we cruised the River. (Licenced Bar on board.)The 30 minute stop at the little village of Nelligan, was a good opportunity to see this historic little river town.

If you're looking for a relaxing way to spend a few hours then try this cruise up the Clyde River, you'll receive a fish & chip lunch while you enjoy the peaceful trip up to Neligen where they stop and you can grab an ice-cream before making the return journey back to the Bay.
