There’s a reason players and caddies talk before their shot to best achieve success on the course so you’ll experience this in the pre-shot decisions you’ll have to make for a great shot. The challenge of your shot appears in a split between pre-shot decisions like club and shot types, with swing execution and placement based on course dynamics. This way you’ll be thinking more “golf” and less “golf swing” only.

A variety of factors like club and shot type all impact your shot but most of all, course dynamics and ball behavior like wind, altitude, terrain reactions, ball dribbling, and more will impact your shot. The full list of aspects that impact your shot are listed below

State-of-the-art Technology Supports Course Mapping for Accurate Course Visuals

Each course is designed in stunning quality with Frostbite, so you can immerse yourself in golf’s finer details more than ever before. And to achieve the most true to life course visuals we meticulously mapped Augusta National, the home of the Masters, and other courses, with state-of-the-art technologies like photogrammetry scanning, drone technology, and survey-grade GPS. 

We also led custom LiDAR helicopter flights over each course in the game, scanning at lower altitude with slower speeds to achieve more data-point-density and a higher level of realism than scans from publicly available sources. Using these technologies, which are actually designed to discover underground gold mines and oil reserves, we achieved pin-point accuracy down to the blade of grass for many courses in-game. Each course’s scan has been transferred into EA SPORTS PGA TOUR to be developed and tuned for the most accurate depiction of them possible.

And we didn’t just scan the greens, the terrain map also created precise renderings of clubhouses, vegetation, bridges, tee markers, rock formations, water, and more on-course elements.

To achieve the highest granularity possible, we also took the time to visit these prestigious courses ourselves to fully understand how the course plays in real life. From walking the holes to surveying course superintendents, the unique conditions at each golf course were mapped and recorded in these in-person visits over the years. 

We were able to even record the distinct cuts of grass and how the ball behaves on them along with upcoming changes they’re making for future seasons to capture a full picture of these courses and how each of them play now and in the future.

So whether it’s The Old Course at St. Andrews Links or The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, you’ll be able to see and feel the distinct differences of playing on these courses just like you would if you were there in real life.

Course Visuals Enhanced by Time of Day Features

Inspired by classic American landscape artists, we set out to create the most beautiful courses in-game with lighting that changes the look of a course based on the time of day. The goal was to create discreet times of day that showed off each course or hole in its absolute best light.

 In game, we represent those as 3 different “tee” times, morning, mid day and late afternoon, across 4 unique “Biomes”. Each of the 4 biomes , Humid subtropical, Mediterranean, Oceanic and Desert, have varying lighting conditions, levels of contrast, clouds and atmospheric haze etc, to give each course a unique look based on its location and the time of day that you are playing.

Course Dynamics Support True-To-Life Ball Dribbling and Behavior

But stunning visuals are only one part of making a course feel like it does in real life. To make each course not only appear but feel accurate to real life, Pure Strike gameplay’s Course Dynamics impact the way the ball behaves on every green in the game.

Each course is tuned to behave just the way it does in real life which impacts the height of a ball’s bounce, the speed of its roll, the impact on ball spin, and the launch of the ball which vary from course to course.

Each course has its own subtleties including everything from the speed and firmness of the fairway to the firmness and length of the first cut. The ball reacts to these subtleties to result in a variety of ball behaviors that change on each course. So you’ll see the ball roll differently on the firm and fast fairways at The Old Course at St Andrews Links in comparison to those of Harbour Town. 

The ball will behave differently across different terrains like pine straw, firm fairway, soft fairways and more. So you can expect to see the ball bounce differently on softer terrains in comparison to hard ones, just like you’d see in real life.

But you’ll also be able to feel how your ball behaves differently in the air as well since ball behavior and course dynamics are also impacted by altitude so courses above sea-level will see balls go further than those on the coast.

And in order to make that worthwhile, they’ve put plenty of effort into the revamped Career Mode. Just about everything a player does throughout the game will help shape their career. That’s why we’re going to walk you through how to upgrade your pro fast in EA Sports PGA Tour.

Upgrading Your Pro Quickly in EA Sports PGA Tour

Regardless of whether you start your Career in the Amateur Championship, Korn Ferry, or go straight for the PGA Tour, upgrading your pro fast in EA Sports PGA Tour will primarily come down to one thing: XP gained . So if you’re looking to make the most out of your Career progress early, you’ll want to bank XP. You can do that by placing high across various tournaments.

If you begin on the Amateur circuit, you can still qualify for the Masters and US Open early on. From there, you’ll be able to earn a lot of XP early depending on how you fare in those tournaments. However, your pro isn’t just limited to those events, as you’ll have to go through Q-School and the Korn Ferry circuit as well in order to eventually earn your PGA Tour card. Every step of the way, you’ll be able to earn XP through Tournaments, Challenges, and Quest Objectives.

Above all else, playing and performing well in Tournaments gives you the best chance to maximize your XP. That said, XP isn’t the only thing players will earn as they complete rounds. With XP comes Skill Points that can be put into various aspects of your game.

There are four main categories and multiple sub-categories to navigate, so choose wisely in terms of what you want to focus on. Will you opt for more of a finesse style? Then by all means, work on that Control and Accuracy. Or, do you want to be more of a grip-it-and-rip-it type of pro? Then maybe you’ll want to max out your Power early on. How often you play comes down to the player as well, as you can choose to play full rounds or focus on Quick Play, which offers a selection of holes to focus on rather than playing the entire round.

How to Level Up Fast in PGA Tour 2K23

It won’t take any astute video game player very long to realize that leveling up can help you out a great deal in PGA Tour 2K23 . The biggest reason to want to soar through the levels as quickly as possible is that you can gain a skill point every time you ascend to a new level. These skill points can unlock advantages during a round that become both better and easier to unleash as you get to the higher levels. There are also the nice level rewards of apparel, equipment, and fitting rewards to be obtained through the clubhouse pass. Those who pay for the premium pass will receive some sort of reward for every level unlocked.

How To Level Up Fast In PGA Tour 2K23

So how can you get all the way to level 50 as quickly as possible? The easiest answer is a boring one: play the game. With XP being gained through completing objectives on the course and at the end of every 18 holes you play, there’s no shortcut around grabbing your golf bag and hitting the links. That said, there are a few ways that you can get the most XP bang for your buck if you’re smart about how you spend your time within the game. Here are some methods to consider if you’re short on time with the game and want to move through levels in a hurry.

Difficulty Multiplier

Because the main way that you’ll accrue the XP needed to climb levels is through playing the game, you’ll want to ensure that you’re getting as much XP as possible per round. This largely involves finding what difficulty you’re able to handle while still putting up decent scores. If you spend some time in the difficulty settings manipulating all of the ways that you can make the game harder or easier, you’ll see that with nearly every one you toggle, the XP multiplier to your right will change.

The setting that will affect this XP multiplier the most will be the swing difficulty, as it will have the biggest impact on how precise you need to be with your input. You’ll probably want to eventually settle on either pro or master, making the leap to the latter when you start to find yourself getting scores well below par on the former. You should be able to find some less impactful aids in settings that can give you a small XP boost. Think carefully about whether you really need things like a full wind readout or even a swing meter.

Course Challenges

During every round, you’ll be made aware at the outset of holes when there’s the possibility of completing a challenge on that hole for a little bit of extra XP. These typically won’t be anything too challenging either, often consisting of hitting the green in regulation or scoring par or better on a hole with one putt or fewer. It may not seem like a big deal to collect 10 or 25 XP on a hole, but if you can complete all of the challenges presented to you, they will add up when you see your XP gains following the round. As the cherry on top of your XP sundae, you can expect a handful of VC for simply not going off the rails and invoking the stroke limit during the round.

Short And Easy Courses

While the game can be relied upon to dole out XP to you at the end of every round that you complete, there’s no stipulation about how long a course actually needs to be. You can use this to your advantage by finding community courses that have nothing but short holes. Without wanting to single any of them out and potentially have courses pulled from the game, let’s just say that a search for “XP” will yield some of the easiest and fastest courses to play that you can find. Even though these won’t get you as much XP as harder courses, despite inevitably putting up some ludicrous scores, you will be able to play through them in a flash with little to no effort. If you play these repeatedly, it will likely become tedious and mind-numbing (maybe try watching some Netflix to keep yourself entertained), but you’ll be able stack XP in a hurry.

If you’re looking to collect some apparel, equipment, or fittings when starting out, the best place to head is probably MyCareer. In addition to receiving XP for the rounds you play during events in your career, you can also get rewards for completing objectives, including those involving rivals and sponsors. When you’re solely seeking to improve your MyPlayer and aren’t interested in any sort of challenge, you’ll want to make some important adjustments to your MyCareer settings in order to make everything as easy as possible for you. By adjusting the opponent and conditions difficulty to very easy, you won’t be affecting the amount of XP you’ll receive for a round. However, you will make meeting any objectives that much easier by making your opponents as bad and your conditions as forgiving as possible.
