Taylor-made: A Swiftie’s guide to the best ‘Eras’ movie experience

Are you a swiftie in search of the right theater vibes here’s where to get the best ‘eras’ screening experience for you..

Deciding which movie theater to watch the upcoming “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” in might be as difficult as choosing which Swift era you want to represent.

The concert film, which will start showing Thursday night , will bring Swifties, concert fans and the general public right into the middle of a Swift concert. And 3,850 theaters across North America are planning to show the film in myriad formats, giving Swifties an array of choices for how they want to experience the concert film.

The production is a recorded version of her concerts culled from three of her performances at SoFi Stadium, where concertgoers originally spotted cameras at her six-night stand. The film will even give some fans who attended her other shows a chance to hear songs she didn’t perform elsewhere , such as “You’re on Your Own, Kid” and “Maroon.”

Tickets for the “Eras Tour” film cost $19.89 for adults (a reference to Swift’s “1989” album, which she is set to release a new recording of in October ) and $13.13 for children and seniors (13 is Swift’s lucky number).

Sharp. Witty. Thoughtful. Sign up for the Style Memo newsletter.

And of course, as Swift herself said, “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

Here’s a breakdown of the best way to see it — whether you want to feel like you have a floor seat at a concert, vibe out with your friends or grab some shiny Swift swag for your kids.

For the best sound

Look for: Dolby Atmos

For the crispiest sound, American composer Michael Giacchino recommends seeking out theaters with Dolby Atmos surround sound — often considered the best for a movie theater audio experience.

Still, Giacchino, whose music has been seen across television and movies, said he’s unsure how the audio might turn out for Swift’s movie. The film’s mixing will combine elements from Swift’s performance and concertgoers from the show, which will make the experience much different than just listening to Swift’s recorded albums.

“I’m excited to see it,” he said.

Expect the live experience to be amplified, Giacchino said. People will be dancing and singing to other people singing and dancing on screen, which isn’t very common in movie theaters.

For the most immersive experience

Look for: Imax, ScreenX, big screens and surround sound

People who want to feel as if they’re actually at the concert should seek out Imax screens, said Andrew Mall, an associate professor of music at Northeastern University who has researched Swift’s box office impact and music festivals in general.

ScreenX theaters, which offer 270-degree displays, can also mimic the experience of having a floor seat at the Eras tour. When BTS released its live concert in theaters this year, many of their army sought out these special screens.

“ScreenX, Imax, under-seat subwoofers, dozens of speakers: All of these features will add to a technologically immersive theatrical experience,” Mall said. “But none of these will guarantee that the social experience will also be immersive.”

For the best Swiftie parties

Look for: Major movie theater chains, special events

Die-hard Swifties are in luck: Major theater chains such as AMC and Alamo Drafthouse have relaxed their typical theater rules to accommodate a more concert-like atmosphere for the “Eras” film: Singing, dancing and swapping friendship bracelets are encouraged.

Introducing those elements is a “no brainer,” said Chaya Rosenthal, Alamo Drafthouse’s VP of marketing. Just as the theater chain leaned into special “Barbie” experiences — slumber party shows and dress-up screenings, for example — Alamo is actively encouraging audiences to revive the spirit of the Eras concerts.

That means you’re free to bring your light-up tour bracelets, wear your favorite Eras costume and shake it off with your friends — but remember to keep it within reason. AMC, for example, advises you to not dance on top of your seat or block the aisles.

The Style section

Meanwhile, for around $800 you can book a private screening at AMC and Cinemark theaters for up to 40 of your besties.

For the best family experience

Look for: Lounge theaters or wait a few weeks

Mall, the Northeastern professor, said the concert film will be an enjoyable experience for all generations because it gives everyone something to look forward to — whether you’re a Swift fan, someone who wants to see a concert for a cheap price or you just want to spend time with family and friends.

“That’s one of the beautiful things about music, right?” he said.

Still, some of your family might not want to get up and dance to the Swift tracks. Maybe you have a child with you or an older parent who could do without a theater full of Swifties scream-singing “Anti-Hero.” A theater with a relaxing setup might be the right move.

The iPic Theater chain, which urges people to bring pillows and blankets to showings, is about as comfy as it gets. They offer dine-in options for guests and seats that are 32 inches wide and created with relaxing and accessibility in mind.

(The theater chain is, however, offering immersive displays for photos before and after the show, so expect there to be some Swifties roaming about. But just think about the possibilities for your family photo album!)

Rosenthal has one more bit of advice: Opening weekend (if you can still get tickets) will attract the most die-hard fans, so if you want a calmer atmosphere, you may also want to sit out the first couple weeks. Don’t worry — given early revenue estimates, this film will be in theaters for a while.

For the best Swift merch

Look for: Basically everywhere

Theaters are making big pushes to bring Swifties into their theaters, and many are doing so by offering special merchandise. (But be warned: Some of these items may sell out.) AMC Theaters is selling collectible cups ($10 for a small; $12 for a large) covered in multicolored promotional photos of Swift from the different “eras” of her career. There’s also a popcorn tin (likewise plastered in green, pink, blue and yellow Swift promotional photos) and a mini-poster for your office cubicle.

Landmark Theaters are offering collectible cups and popcorn buckets for the movie, too. The bucket, which includes bottomless popcorn, will cost about $14, according to the theater. The refillable collectible cup will run $11. Regal Movies are selling the same collectible items but with a combo price of $19.89 (yet another reference to Swift’s album).

Over at Alamo Drafthouse, audiences can grab a limited-edition shirt, heart-shaped sunglasses, a disco ball cup (“Alamo’s version”) and friendship bracelets. The dine-in theater is also offering special Taylor Swift-themed drinks to fill your cup, including a “Bad Blood-arita,” “Ranch Water on My Guitar” and “Prosecco Problems.”

A Swiftie’s Guide to Seeing the Eras Tour Movie

Portrait of Alejandra Gularte

“One, two, three, let’s go bitch!” Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is coming to theaters for a limited run on Friday, October 13, and there’s a lot to catch up on — Travis Kelce rumors not included . This is Taylor Swift’s first worldwide theatrical release — Miss Americana was only shown in select theaters for a limited time before hitting Netflix — and fans have already embraced the concert film almost as much as the sold-out tour itself. It broke presale records held by Star Wars and Spider-Man, and movie theaters are anticipating a level of excitement similar to a Marvel movie. But Swifties are stuck in a lavender haze of questions, trying to figure out if they can take the souvenir cups home or sing at the top of their lungs in a packed theater. Put on your sparkly boots and remember heartbreak is supposed to feel good in a place like this, as we break down everything you need to know about seeing the Eras Tour movie.

How do I get a ticket if I haven’t already?

While most opening night screenings are probably sold out, there are a few screenings with available tickets if you don’t mind sitting in the front row. Every AMC theater has at least four screenings per day during opening weekend, and most other theater chains are following suit.

If you can’t make it opening weekend, AMC, Alamo Drafthouse, and Cinemark have tickets on sale through November 5 — Regal has showings until November 9 in some areas. This gives you a chance to rewatch the concert over and over again. However, screenings are only shown Thursday to Sunday to mimic the feeling of the in-person concert.

Okay, I have my tickets. Can I dance and sing?

Yes! As long as it is not disrupting other Swifties’ enjoyment of the show. Alamo Drafthouse is encouraging fans to have fun while watching the movie. We’d recommend some arm dancing whilst sitting comfortably in your seat, as most theaters have rules about blocking emergency walkways or the view from other patrons. AMC specifically states , “We encourage dancing and singing throughout this concert film event, but please do not dance on our seats or block other guests from viewing, safely walking or exiting the auditorium.” And while some metalheads might disagree, singing does not equal screaming. The show is two hours and 45 minutes, not including trailers, and you’ll need to preserve it for the full 10 minutes of “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).”

What about taking photos?

You can take photos with your friends and their friendship bracelets before the show starts, but once Tay is on the screen, the phone goes away. The same rules apply during regular theater screenings. You wouldn’t steal a getaway car , would you?

What’s the deal with merch?

Most theater chains all have some sort of Eras -themed soda cup and popcorn bucket. The material and/or color of the items may change depending on the theater, but the design is essentially the same. Regal has a pretty good deal for $19.89 (cute!). Fans who were scarred by the blue-crewneck saga and the hours-long merch queue at concerts may try to line up early to make sure they get their items, which isn’t a bad idea. There are free mini movie posters at select theaters like AMC , Regal, and Cinemark for ticket holders, a.k.a. another reason to get there early.

There is one theater that seems to have pulled out all the stops for merch, and it’s surprisingly not AMC, especially since it’s the one directly partnering with Swift for the movie. Alamo Drafthouse reportedly has Eras-inspired T-shirts, bracelets, sunglasses, and mirrorball cups for sale at every theater showing while supplies last.

How early should I get there?

Most theaters have you book a seat ahead of time, so there isn’t any need to camp out — an hour feels sufficient enough. There might be a line to get your free mini poster and buy collectible cups and popcorn buckets, so it’d be a good idea to arrive in advance. After you’ve gathered everything you need for the show, you can make new friends — you’ll need as many as possible to try to decipher whatever Easter egg Swift will probably sneak into the movie.

It’s nearly three hours long — when can I safely go to the bathroom?

It depends on what your favorite era is, but a good halfway mark is sometime during the Red era. The beginning of the era (right after “Enchanted”) includes a small dance number that’s a few minutes long, and if you time it right after Swift ends the Speak Now portion, you should make it back during the middle of “22.” You could also leave during “All Too Well (Ten Minute Version),” technically only missing one song.

If you need a break earlier (or just want to avoid crying in front of people), step out during “marjorie” or “champagne problems.”

Were songs cut from the film?

Sorry, we’re about to break a perfectly good heart. While it was previously confirmed that no songs would be cut from the Eras Tour film, a few ended up on the chopping block. Lover ’s “The Archer,” folklore ’s “cardigan,” 1989 ’s “Wildest Dreams,” evermore ’s “no body no crime” featuring HAIM, and Speak Now ’s “Long Live” (though the latter’s studio version was included in the end credits). The “seven” interlude in the folklore section was also removed from the theatrical version. But who’s to say Miss Swift won’t release an extended version on streaming in the future? Swifties know that “Maroon” was filmed and they want the high-definition version!

Will there be friendship bracelets?

Duh. You won’t be on your own kid. For almost a year, Swifties have been making frequent trips to the craft store; Michaels saw a 300 percent increase in sales from jewelry-making supplies in cities where the Eras Tour stops were held. There are a few easy ways to get your bracelets ready for trading. The first is to have one arm as your “trading” arm, filled with bracelets you’ve made to trade with others or ones you’re retrading, and have the other arm to display the ones you’re keeping. Makes it easy to separate your own collection from the ones you plan to switch out. The second is to hold your trading bracelets on an old shower or carabiner ring, separating them by theme or album.

If you’re stuck trying to figure out movie-related phrases for your bracelets, here are a few to get you started: “ If This Was a Movie ,” “ I can AMC you ,” “ flashback in a film reel, ” “ I Alamo-st Do ,” or — if you’re feeling a little unhinged — “ The Lorax .” Simpler ones like “In my movies era,” or “Eras Tour,” or your favorite Swift songs would totally work too. However, if you don’t want to risk burning yourself with a hot-glue gun , AMC and Alamo Drafthouse have both been rumored to have some bracelets of their own.

Anything else I should expect?

A lot of singing, some crying, and definitely some hand hearts.

'Eras' tour movie etiquette: How to enjoy the Taylor Swift concert film (the right way)

eras tour movie regal cinemas

Out of the woods and into the multiplex.

This weekend, cinemas will become holy ground for fans of Taylor Swift, whose cross-country Eras Tour enchanted millions . Now, the musical mastermind is staging a big-screen takeover with her concert movie “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which is all but assured to win the weekend with a mind-blowing $100 million-plus opening . Since the first U.S. leg of the tour ended in August, Swift has stayed in the headlines, thanks in part to her MTV VMAs sweep , her forthcoming "1989" album rerelease and her rumored romance with NFL player Travis Kelce .

Although plenty of artists have released concert films in the past, “this is a different beast,” says Stephanie Silverman, executive director of the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee. “It seems to us that her desire is that this (movie) is as much a concert experience as the live concert experience is for people. So we're going to definitely just chill out and let people enjoy it in the way that they want to. The audience will create the culture in (the theater) and we’re going to roll with it.”

Taylor Swift 'Eras' movie review: Concert film a thrilling revisit of her live spectacle

Jeff Kaufman, senior vice president of film and marketing at Memphis, Tennessee-based chain Malco Theatres, expects a similar phenomenon to this summer's "Barbie," which also saw many excited moviegoers dress up to go to the theater and post about it on social media . Dancing is welcome, as long as they don't block the theater aisles.

"Our theater employees are always checking in on screenings and this film presentation won’t be any different," Kaufman says. "If issues arise, they will be dealt with at that time. We expect our audiences to come have fun, enjoy the film and our theaters. I certainly don’t think the film will be any louder than 'Top Gun!'"

As Swifties head to cinemas in unprecedented numbers, Silverman asks that moviegoers please "be good" to theater employees and to remember to "always tip your concession stand." Here's what else you should know about the "Eras Tour" movie, which starts showing Thursday night:

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce: Why we're invested – and is that OK?

What is runtime for the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' movie?

According to the AMC Theatres website , the "Eras Tour" movie runs 2 hours and 48 minutes. There is no intermission, and the theater chain notes that there will also be an additional 10 to 15 minutes of pre-show and trailers before the film begins.

How can you get early access tickets to see the 'Eras Tour' movie on Thursday night?

Hours before her "Eras Tour" movie premiere in Los Angeles, Swift announced that she will be gifting the concert film to her fans early.

"Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening up early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY in America and Canada!!" Swift posted on Instagram Wednesday night. "We’re also adding additional showtimes Friday and throughout the weekend."

All tickets will be available to purchase by 10 a.m. Thursday, Swift added.

What is the Taylor Swift concert movie rated?

"The Eras Tour" has been rated PG-13 for "some strong language and suggestive material."

Are phones allowed during the 'Eras Tour' movie?

AMC's website states that moviegoers should "feel free to take selfies and group photos, but you may not record the concert film on our big screen."

Can you sing during the 'Eras Tour' movie?

AMC's website says: "We encourage dancing and singing throughout this concert film event, but please do not dance on our seats or block other guests from viewing, safely walking or exiting the auditorium."

Alamo Drafthouse, which famously has strict noise and phone policies, is also loosening restrictions, as long as moviegoers are respectful.

"We’re definitely down with you getting a little rowdy at the screenings – within reason, of course," Alamo says on its website . "Let’s keep it fun and cute out there."

Where can you buy an ‘Eras Tour’ movie popcorn bucket?

Swifties are eager to get their hands on any new "Eras" merch. That includes tour-themed plastic popcorn buckets and fountain drink cups, which will be sold at theater chains including Cinemark, AMC and Regal. Prices for the individual items range from roughly $10 to $14 each, while the popcorn tub-and-cup combo goes for about $20.

Alamo Drafthouse locations are offering "exclusive props, merch and themed drinks that you can't find anywhere else," according to the dine-in theater's website. Cinergy Cinemas similarly has a Swift prosecco cocktail, "Eras"-themed menus and photo opportunities in theater lobbies with life-size cardboard cutouts of the singer.

AMC will also give out free "Eras" mini-posters while supplies last.

What should you wear to the Taylor Swift movie?

Throughout the tour, many concertgoers dressed in costumes representing Swift's album "eras," whether it was re-creating some of her most iconic looks or choosing outfits that nodded to specific lyrics. According to AMC's website, "Taylor Swift Eras attire" is "strongly encouraged."

Will there be 'Eras Tour' friendship bracelets?

During the tour, trading handmade friendship bracelets also became a popular phenomenon among concertgoers, whose beads would spell out various Swift song and album titles, as well as inside jokes. Leaked photos on social media hint that AMC may have its own variation on the colorful jewelry. But in the meantime, fans are encouraged to make and bring their own to the cineplex.

What is the Taylor Swift movie setlist?

The film is expected to follow Swift's epic 45-song setlist from her "Eras Tour," beginning with fan favorites from her 2019 "Lover" album and ending with songs from last year's blockbuster "Midnights." Hits from major albums such as "Folklore," "1989" and "Red" are also well-represented throughout the nearly three-hour setlist. Then, of course, there are the surprise songs that she's delighted fans with during her acoustic set.

Eras Tour setlist: Here are all three hours' worth of songs Taylor performed

Which surprise songs are in the ‘Eras Tour’ movie?

Swift's concert film was shot during the first three nights of her six-show run at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, in August. At each stop of her 52-date U.S. tour, she reserved a portion of the set list for a pair of acoustic songs, which alternated with every show.

Swift performed a total of nine surprise songs over the course of the three SoFi Stadium shows where she was filming — "I Can See You," "Maroon," "Our Song," "You Are In Love," "Death By A Thousand Cuts" and "You're on Your Own, Kid" — all of which have potential for inclusion in the movie.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concert Film Coming to Movie Theaters

A theatrical version of the billion-dollar tour — a cultural juggernaut that just ended its North American leg — opens Oct. 13.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the billion-dollar juggernaut that has dominated the cultural calendar this year, may be on a break before picking up internationally, but its momentum will only rest so long: The show is coming to movie theaters this fall.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film will be released in the United States, Canada and Mexico on Oct. 13, Swift announced on social media Thursday, with U.S. AMC Theaters promising at least four showtimes per day from Thursday to Sunday upon opening.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift said. “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

Anticipating the white-hot demand that has followed the tour since its announcement, crashing ticketing systems around the world , AMC promised in a news release that it had “bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than 5 times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.” (The company added, however, that it was “also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale.”)

Tickets are on sale now. Prices start at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children, substantially less than what fans paid for the tour itself — especially on the robust secondary market — as the concert industry adjusts to sometimes prohibitively high costs for its biggest events .

Swift, 33, wrapped this year’s North American dates with four shows in Mexico last week. Her downtime, though, will be brief. In addition to the movie version of the concert, the singer will release “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the fourth of rerecorded original albums, two weeks later, on Oct. 27. By November, the Eras Tour will pick up in Argentina before traveling around the world in 2024, with dates — including nine additional U.S. shows — continuing into November 2024.

“1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the new edition of her 2014 pop blockbuster, marks Swift’s seventh release in barely three years, a period of artistic productivity that has fueled pent-up, post-pandemic demand for the singer’s live show. Jon Caramanica, a critic for The New York Times, said in a review of the first concert in March that the Eras Tour put on display “how many pivots Swift has undertaken in her career, and how the accompanying risks can have wildly different consequences.”

The trade publication Pollstar has estimated that the singer sold about $14 million in tickets for each show so far. By the end of next year, the 146 stadium dates could reach $1.4 billion or more in sales.

What Barbie has been for the box office this summer, the Eras Tour has been to the concert business, set to gross $1.4 billion worldwide. Natch, tickets sold out within hours on Ticketmaster, but StubHub reported the Eras Tour repped its best ticket sales ever for a concert. An Eras Tour show clocks 3 hours and 15 minutes long, the longest of the pop singer’s career, with 44 songs over 10 acts.

The concert pic will play Oct. 13-15, Oct. 19-22 , Oct. 26-29, Oct. 31 and Nov. 2-5. Tickets are priced at $19.89 and $13.13. That’s a great price considering the first batch of concert tickets ranged from $49 to $449, while VIP packages ranged from $199 to $899 — and way up for the resale market. At AMC, the Eras Tour will play in Dolby and Imax auditoriums.

In anticipation of this announcement, AMC has upgraded its website and ticketing engines to handle more than 5x the largest influx of ticket-buying traffic the circuit has ever experienced. “AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand of Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale,” reads the chain’s release this morning.

The Eras Tour sold 2.4M tickets on its first U.S. presale day alone, the most ever by an artist in a single day, outstripping Robbie Williams, who sold 1.6M tickets for his Close Encounters Tour in 2005. Billboard  reports that the Eras Tour minted an estimated $554 million by mid-December was projected to hit $591M at the end of its U.S. leg, besting the former all-time female record set by Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour, which did $407M in 2008-09. Bloomberg estimated that the average Swift concert on this tour has grossed at least $13M per U.S. city.

With this being a unique first type of special event for AMC, they aren’t granting free passes to anyone, including their AMC Stubs A-list members, who “may not use their membership to reserve tickets.”

“For our IT systems to be able to accommodate anticipated huge initial demand, AMC will temporarily be restricting the usage of AMC Stubs rewards toward online ticket purchases.”

And there’s a pothole for you, Hollywood: “AMC will temporarily scale back its website ticket availability for most other movie titles.”

Everything you need to know about Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour movie set to open Oct. 13

eras tour movie regal cinemas

It seems like Taylor Swift is just about everywhere.

Daily paparazzi photos of the pop star are all over the Internet.

Images of her during NFL games watching supposed boyfriend and Ohio native Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs are now as ubiquitous as a shot of the Goodyear blimp flying overhead during a football game.

And soon Swift will be appearing on just about every screen in a multiplex near you.

After shattering records with her The Eras Tour in stadiums across the country this past summer, Swift is looking to conquer the box office too.

It appears she is already well on her way.

A check of movie theaters from Akron to Columbus to Cincinnati already shows limited seats − if not sold out − for the first showings of Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert movie when it is released on Friday, Oct. 13.

After the concert film was announced on Aug. 31, AMC theaters set a single day record for the highest ticket sales revenues in the theater chain's 103-year history.

And this might just be start of going to the theater to experience pop stars.

Beyoncé is bringing her own concert film of her Renaissance World Tour to theaters on Dec. 1.

How can I get tickets for the Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Movie?

The movie is being shown in scores of theaters on multiple screens throughout the state with screenings every 20 minutes in some larger theaters.

Among the theater chains showing the film are Regal , Cinemark , AMC along with smaller regional chains and even some drive-ins in Ohio.

The concert film is expected to have a four-week run in theaters typically on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

How much are tickets to see Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Movie?

Tickets for digital showings of the Taylor Swift concert film are $19.89 − mirroring the name of her new album "1989 Taylor's Version" set to be released on Oct. 27. There are no passes or discounts accepted for the movie.

Tickets to see the film in Imax or in other enhanced theater experiences are more expensive.

What to expect at the Taylor Swift concert movie

This will not be your typical movie theater experience.

For one, the theaters will be packed and seats are reserved in most instances so don't expect to sneak in and find an empty seat.

Theater chains also recommend that you purchase your tickets ahead of time as they expect many showings to be completely sold out.

And theater operators are warning moviegoers to not expect your typical quiet movie experience during the Taylor Swift film.

This is a concert flick − it was filmed over six nights during her Eras Tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles − so expect fellow Swiftees to be singing along, standing and even dancing throughout the 165-minute movie.

You will not get every single moment of the concert as it ran about three hours long.

Most theaters will give away souvenir mini movie posters while supplies last and sell popcorn and drinks in special Taylor Swift cups and containers.

Some theaters are also encouraging − like at the concerts − for fans to exchange Taylor Swift-inspired bracelets in the lobby.

Watching Taylor Swift's 'Eras' movie this weekend? Where to watch and etiquette tips

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

As the relentless success of Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour continues with the concert’s movie version, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” the unique moviegoing experience is proving to be new ground for moviegoers and theater chains alike.

If the live stage concerts have not been enough of a success, “Taylor Swift: The Ears Tour” opened last week to a record-breaking $93 million opening weekend for the genre. It has grossed a worldwide total of $123.5 million so far, according to Box Office Mojo .

Swift’s opening week completely blew away the second most successful concert movie's (2011’s “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never”) entire $73 million run.

The excitement and energy at the live stage concerts is something "Swifties" aren’t willing to let go of for the movie experience.

Box office record: Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour' dances to No. 1 at the box office, eyeing 'Joker' film record

But the singing and dancing at some screening of the “Eras Tour” movie may have gotten a little out of hand, as the Today show reported this week .

The movie’s second weekend is expected to rake in around $27 million, but there is still a chance for you to catch a screening of “Eras Tour.”

Here are some tips on how to behave at the “Eras Tour” movie and where it is playing in Volusia and Flagler counties.

Taylor Swift movie etiquette: What's expected?

Without a deal with any of the big Hollywood studios to distribute the film, Swift and her team partnered directly with one of the country’s biggest move theater chains to release the production: AMC Theaters.

In what the chain has advertised as a special event and different movie-going experience, it also put out a few tips on how to behave at “Eras Tour” screenings:

Taylor Swift Eras attire and friendship bracelets are strongly encouraged. Masks (except for standard face masks used explicitly for health and safety reasons) are not permitted.

Dancing and singing throughout the concert film event is encouraged, but no dancing on seats or blocking other guests from viewing, safely walking or exiting the auditorium.

Selfies, groups photos are allowed, but no recordings of the film on the big screen.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed.

Tickets are non-refundable.

This concert film experience is excluded from A-List (the chain’s movie subscription service) reservations.

No passes, exchange tickets or discount tickets may be used.

Taylor Swift is one of the biggest names in the music industry. Her 2022 album Midnights marked the tenth entry into her impressive discography and kickstarted the beginning of her Eras tour in March 2023. While on tour across the United States and Mexico, the 12-time Grammy winner pleasantly surprised fans on August 31 with an announcement of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie. Tickets went on sale (and immediately sold out) that same day.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie is clearly the hottest event of this fall season. Here is everything you need to know about it movie before heading to the theater.

What to know about Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (concert movie)

The Eras tour takes audiences on a captivating musical journey spanning all of Taylor Swift’s unique "eras", paying homage to each of her albums. These albums are 2006's Taylor Swift, Fearless in 2008, 2010's Speak Now, Red in 2012, 1989 in 2014, 2017's Reputation, Lover in 2019, 2020's Folkmore and Evermore, and Midnights in 2022. You can expect to witness her perform some of the most celebrated songs within her catalogue including "Love Story", "Blank Space", and "Anti-Hero."

The movie offers audiences the opportunity to experience the wildly anticipated concert they might not have had the chance to see in person. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie filmed the initial trio of performances at SoFi Stadium in early August. As shown in the concert movie, this huge Los Angeles venue drew an astounding crowd of nearly half a million fans.

As the official concert movie for her Eras Tour, Taylor Swift wants fans to have an authentic concert experience when watching the movie in theaters. When she initially announced it on X, Taylor suggested  that fans should dress up in their best Eras attire, wear friendship bracelets and participate in singing and dancing, just like they would at a live show: "The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon.  Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now at http:// taylor.lnk.to/TSTheErasTourF ilm … . Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged. 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk)"

Where can I watch Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour?

If you are in the united states:.

AMC theaters have entered into an exclusive agreement with Swift, allowing only their locations in the United States to screen The Eras Tour movie starting October 13. Canadian theaters will screen the movie as well.

Within minutes of theater tickets for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour being released, the AMC app crashed with fans attempting to buy advance tickets for the movie. This marks the second instance this year where Swifties caused a major website to malfunction, with the first being during the sale for the actual Eras Tour itself. AMC is currently promoting exciting additions for your cinematic experience including Eras Tour-themed popcorn buckets for $14.99+tax and drink cups for $11.99+tax. Exclusive cardigans have, unfortunately, still not been announced.

If you are outside of the United States:

On Tuesday 26th September, 2023, tickets for the official Eras tour concert movie were announced in over 100 countries around the world. Taylor Swift made the announcement on Instagram, sharing that the film will be in theaters in those countries from October 13, 2023.

"The tour isn’t the only thing we’re taking worldwide…….. 🌎 Been so excited to tell you all that The Eras Tour concert film is now officially coming to theaters WORLDWIDE on Oct 13! Tickets available now at www.TSTheErasTourFilm.com or on your local theaters website!"

Tickets were available immediately after the Instagram post went live. AMC have struck a deal with sub-distribution partners for more than 7,500 movie theatres in order to show the film in theaters around the world. Across Europe, the concert movie will be playing at Odeon theaters. Odeon also announced a special pricing for the event:

"In a nod to Taylor Swift’s 1989 album and her favourite number, 13, tickets in the UK and Ireland will be priced at £19.89 / €19.89 for adults and £13.13 / €13.13 for children."

Will The Eras Tour be on Netflix?

Despite the concert movie's cinematic release on October 13, there has been no announcement about where to stream Taylor Swift: The Era Tour online. Until further notice, the movie is available exclusively in theaters. However, given the record-breaking demand for tickets, it is very likely fans will be able to watch The Eras Tour on streaming services after its theatrical run ends.

You can choose to get notified by JustWatch when a streaming release date is announced by heading to Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour and hitting the notification bell.

How long is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour?

While an Eras Tour concert typically lasts over three hours on average, the official length of the concert movie is 2 hours and 40 minutes. This makes it much longer than previous Taylor Swift concert movies, such as Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour which is 2 hours and 5 mins.

Who is the director of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour?

Grammy-nominated Sam Wrench is the director of the upcoming concert movie. He earned the coveted nomination for directing Billie Eilish Live At The O2 in 2023. Wrench is best known for his ability in capturing the electrifying essence of a live music event, having also worked on  Lizzo: Live in Concert and BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage - LA . He boasts an impressive resume filled with projects from some of the biggest names in the industry including Mary J. Blige, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

What records did Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour break?

Taylor Swift just keeps adding to her impressive list of record-breaking achievements. The Eras Tour movie shattered the record for the most money made from advance ticket sales in a single day at AMC Theaters, raking in a whopping $26 million. This surpasses the previous record-holder, 2021's  Spider-Man: No Way Home , by $10 million. Fans achieved this record-breaking feat in just three hours, beating  Avengers: Endgame 's record for the most tickets sold within the first 24 hours.

The Eras Tour movie is expected to have an incredible opening weekend, with a projected range of $100-125 million. The top five movies for the year's opening weekends include Barbie , The Super Mario Bros. Movie , Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse , Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania . These range between between $162 million to $106 million, which means the upcoming concert movie has the potential to have one of the best opening weekends of 2023.

Furthermore, the sudden announcement of the movie's release date caused other titles to change their release dates. The Exorcist: Believer , originally slated for the same day, will now premiere a week earlier. Producer Jason Blum playfully tweeted, "Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23.”

What are the other Taylor Swift concert movies?

For those who simply cannot calm down before the release of the movie, there have been a number of projects featuring exclusive access to Swift’s concerts that are available to watch right now. These include The 1989 World Tour Live, which was released on Apple Music in 2015, and 2018’s Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour which is available to stream on Netflix. There were also DVD releases of Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless in 2010 and Speak Now World Tour – Live the following year.

Swifties alike must ultimately tolerate this Cruel wait with their Gorgeous Style they know Belongs to them. On the Bejeweled side, there are only a few weeks left before they are united by the greatest Love Story on the big screen: Taylor Swift with her Swifties. They are undeniably Ready For It.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be released in theaters on October 13, 2023.

5 Questions I Have About Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Concert Film

Not quite 'Ready For It!'

Taylor Swift performs during The Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood Monday, Aug. 7, 2023.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been the place to see and be seen this year, with thousands of fans waiting for hours to try to get tickets, and celebrities like Flavor Flav living their best life at the concert. Now the artist has made it much easier to witness the pop culture phenomenon, regardless of whether or not you were able to catch it live. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to see Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in theaters , but I do have some questions about the concert film and how it will differ from the in-person experience.

While Swifties may already be familiar with the rules of Eras Tour etiquette , many are wondering how moviegoers will be expected to act at the theater come October 13, or which surprise songs were chosen for Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour . More casual fans of Taylor Swift may be wondering what to wear, or what’s the deal with the friendship bracelets ? Below are some of the big questions I have about the upcoming theatrical experience.

What Should I Wear To The Eras Tour Movie?

Taylor Swift has been rocking some truly stunning Eras Tour outfits , and many Swifties have used those looks as inspiration so that when they walk in the room, they make the whole place shimmer. I’m hoping that audiences will carry that energy into the theaters come October.

Just like everybody went full Barbiecore to see Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in Barbie , I want to see people having fun with their outfits, and if you want to shop for looks based on your favorite Taylor Swift era , we can certainly help with that. From cardigans to cowboy boots, sparkly dresses or just a concert tee with jeans, there should be plenty of wardrobe options that honor Taylor Swift and are still comfortable enough to enjoy the two-plus-hour event .

What Surprise Songs Will Taylor Swift Play In The Movie?

The Eras Tour playlist is widely available for Swifties to see which of their favorite hits from each era made the cut. However, the crowd is always treated to a mini-acoustic set, when she sings two surprise songs that vary with each of her tour dates. The movie footage comes from her first three Los Angeles concerts — August 3-5 — according to Billboard .

Since we at CinemaBlend have been keeping track of all the surprise songs on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour , we can deduce that the movie’s surprise songs will likely be two of these six songs: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Our Song,” “You Are in Love,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and “You’re on Your Own, Kid."

Since the preview named her self-titled album as being among those featured in the movie — and none of the other songs on Taylor Swift appear elsewhere on the setlist — it seems like “Our Song” is a good bet to make the cut.

Will Some Songs On The Eras Tour Set List Be Left Out Of The Movie?

If you’ve caught the Eras Tour live, you’re aware that her set exceeds the three-hour mark, yet the concert film is being billed as just 2 hours and 45 minutes long. What gives? I can’t imagine Swifties would take too kindly to finding out that any of the songs have been edited out of the film version. Sure, there are segments in between the songs where Taylor Swift talks to the crowd, but since we see at least one of those moments in the trailer, that’s not likely where the cuts came from.

Hopefully being able to edit out the time taken for Taylor Swift’s costume changes and set changes for her different eras is the full explanation for the difference in length, but with no official word out of Swift’s camp, we may just have to wait until October 13 to find out for sure.

Instagram Stories.

Will Swifties Be Trading Friendship Bracelets At The Movie Theater?

It’s become a Swiftie tradition to exchange friendship bracelets with fellow fans during Eras Tour concerts, and even celebrities have joined in, with Jennifer Garner showing off an on-point bracelet game (pictured above) and Simu Liu boasting his own impressive haul . Will that continue for the theatrical version of the show? According to Taylor Swift it will! In her initial concert announcement on Instagram , she wrote, “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” and asked fans, “What’s your friendship bracelet going to say?”

I don’t actually know what mine are going to say, and I don’t know how many would be appropriate to make. Are people going to be walking around the theater beforehand to do their exchanges? During the show? And that leads to one final question, and it’s a pretty big one:

Taylor Swift performing

Will People Be Standing, Singing And Dancing During The Eras Tour Movie?

Taylor Swift concerts are loud, interactive affairs, with dancing, shouting, “1, 2, 3 let’s go bitch” and lots of screaming in general. Movie theaters are technically meant to be, well, the opposite of that. As mentioned above, the artist herself is encouraging singing and dancing during Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , and I’m really curious as to how that’s going to go over with everyone else in the theater, not to mention those trying to watch other movies.

On one hand, I really have no interest in sitting silently for 2.5 hours and listening to Taylor Swift. I can do that in my car (and let’s be honest, even then I’m still singing and dancing like Taylor at the VMAs ). This seems like more of a concert setting, because enjoying it with the group is part of the appeal. However, I also understand the concerns of some discussing this very question on Reddit . Lots of people say they’re prepared to be all, “You need to calm down. You’re being too loud,” because they actually want to hear Taylor Swift sing, and you can’t really fault them for that.

At least one theater chain in Texas has said they're anticipating fans getting "a little rowdy," within reason, of course. Hopefully fans will be able to have a blast while still keeping others around them in mind. I'd think singing is fine, but screaming not as much. Dancing in your chair? Great. Running around the theater? No. Also, there will be fans who aren’t able to (or simply don’t want to) stand up for that long, so hopefully people will be courteous, though I imagine this aspect of the experience will vary theater-to-theater.

There’s no question how huge this tour is for Taylor Swift and her fans, but taking such an epic pop culture moment and bringing it to a smaller venue does come with a little uncertainty. While I may not have all of the answers, I know for sure that this is an experience I need to witness first-hand. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour tickets are available at AMC, Cinemark, Regal and other theaters, and while we wait for October 13, take a peek at everything else Swifties have to be excited about . And in the words of T-Swift in regards to her tour: See you there.

Ava Lomogda thought she was just going to dinner with her grandma Thursday night. When the Bayview Elementary school student found out they were also seeing “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” movie, she couldn’t stop bouncing.

Does the 9-year-old consider herself a Swiftie?

“Yes! Definitely!” she said, hopping up and down beside the concession stand at The Regal Columbus movie theater in Virginia Beach.

Ava is one of the legions of fans expected to turn out this weekend for the opening of Swift’s highly anticipated movie. The concert film, scheduled for release Friday, came out a day early because of unprecedented demand. Box office analysts predict it could generate as much as $150 million during its debut weekend, a figure that would make it the highest opening of a concert film and also one of the highest openings of 2023, according to CNBC .

The pop star and style icon has been a musical and marketing powerhouse since her 2006 debut at age 16. She’s won 12 Grammy Awards and sold more than 13 million albums in multiple genres.

Yet her fans — Swifties — say her real genius is how she connects with people.

“She’s the older sister I don’t have,” said Savannah Stamper, 26, of Virginia Beach. “I feel like I’ve grown up with her.”

Decked out in Taylor Swift bracelets, shirt, sunglasses and sparkly eye makeup, Drew Johnson went to the movie with three other women, including her kids’ babysitter.

“I think because I’m close in age. When she was 15 writing, it was similar to what I was going through. And then we kind of aged together,” said Johnson, 29, who lives in Poquoson and was catching the movie at Cinemark City Center in Newport News.

“As she’s grown up, her lyrics, I think, they’re more intricate than people think.”

When Shelby Kline and Dylann Reilly heard the movie would be released a day early, they made sure to be at the first showing.

“I watched the trailer on the way here just to get hyped up,” Kline, 26, said.

The movie is a compilation of Swift’s three performances in Los Angeles from her current tour, which has been selling out venues across the world and breaking stadium records. When tickets went on sale last fall, the Ticketmaster site crashed, sparking fierce backlash from fans, a rebuke from Swift and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in which lawmakers used the songwriter’s lyrics to make their case.

Reilly, 17, had a presale code when tickets went on sale and waited for seven or eight hours online. The show sold out right before her turn.

The movie is as close as she can get to the real T-Swift, at least for now.

“I think it’s really cool that she’s doing this because a lot of people didn’t get to see her perform,” said Kline, who compared the concert movie with the film version of the popular Broadway hit “Hamilton” in terms of making it available to the wider public.

Hailee Morse and Katie Hayden got lucky. They both saw Swift in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Literally the best thing of my life,” Morse, 25, said, despite a storm that delayed the show by four hours.

Alexandra Carter joined the fun at Cinemark. She was excited to share the experience with her 4-year-old daughter.

“It’s fun seeing it in her eyes,” she said. “She just gets really excited.”

Carter, 35, said she’s been a fan since the beginning.

“Her music is very relatable. She just makes it easy to like her.”

Get ready Swifties! Where to see Taylor Swift's movie for 'The Eras Tour' in Knoxville!

eras tour movie regal cinemas

Get your friendship bracelets ready, because Taylor Swift is coming to Knoxville's movie theater screens!

In a partnership with movie theaters directly, the concert film "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" is two hours and 45 minutes of Swift performing at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles . It will be released on Oct. 13, and showtimes are scheduled through the rest of October and into November.

The concert film already has brought in more than $65 million in sales from advance tickets .

If you missed her live when she played in Nashville , this movie gives everyone a chance to see her perform songs from her 10 albums. The best part is you won't have to travel outside of Knoxville to see it.

How do I watch 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' in Knoxville?

The concert film will be playing at all four Regal Cinemas theaters in town .

Regal Pinnacle has the most showtimes and the only premium format screenings. There will be regular screens, IMAX and RPX showtimes. Tickets for Oct. 13 are still available. On Oct. 14 and 15, there will be more than 20 showings at Regal Pinnacle, so if one sells out there will be plenty more to choose from.

Regal Riviera, Cinebarre and even Regal Downtown West all will be showing the concert film, but there aren't as many showtimes compared to Pinnacle. It should still be enough for Knoxville fans.

Regal Unlimited will not work for the concert film. Tickets for regular showtimes cost around $22, and it jumps to $30 for IMAX. RPX tickets cost around $27. There are convenience fees if purchased on the Regal app or on Fandango.

If you'd rather go to a non-Regal theater, the AMC Foothills 12 in Maryville will be showing it, too. Most of the showtimes are sold out on Oct. 13, according to Fandango. But showings on the following days have plenty of tickets available.

Tickets are available for regular screens and the BigD screen. Tickets cost around $20 and $23 for both formats. AMC A-List is also excluded from using a free ticket for the concert film.

Finally, Cinemark Tinsletown in Oak Ridge will be playing it, too, all with recliner seats. Tickets for Oct. 13 are still available, and there will be more than 20 showtimes listed on Oct. 14 and 15. Tickets will cost around $20 each.

Discounts apply for child and senior tickets.

Are there any special screenings or offerings for Taylor Swift's Eras movie?

Cinemark is offering a special private screening option for fans.

Dubbed the " Private Swiftie Party ," this option costs more than $800 and allows up to 40 Taylor Swift fanatics to see the film in a Cinemark auditorium all to yourselves. Eras Tour attire and friendship bracelets are encouraged.

This option can be booked with dates starting on Oct. 19. The Oak Ridge theater will be available for the "Private Swiftie Party" screenings.

AMC has a listing on its website for a similar type of private screening. No locations or times had been posted as of Sept. 15.

Regal will allow for private watch parties for the concert film with up to 40 people, too. Total cost will vary by location and number of people attending.

Each theater chain will offer a special promotional popcorn bucket and cup for The Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift ‘The Eras Tour’ concert film: Everything you need to know

For all the fans who couldn’t snag a ticket to one of Taylor Swift’s stops on her sold-out “ Eras Tour ,” your time has come: It’s coming to the big screen for some people even sooner !

The singer shared on social media Oct. 11 that due to high demand, early access showings of “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” will be available in the United States and Canada one day before its official release on Oct. 13.

AMC announced in September that in addition to the film's North American release in nearly 4,000 movie theaters in October, the film will play in 100 countries starting Oct. 13.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift wrote on X , the platform formerly known as Twitter, on Aug. 31 for the film's North American announcement.

“Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” she added.

AMC said in a press release it took less than 24 hours for Swift's concert film to "shatter AMC’s U.S. record for the highest ticket-sales revenue during a single day in AMC’s 103-year history."

"With such overwhelming demand being evident, it became obvious that there should be an immediate worldwide release of the film," the company said.

Recently, Swift cited "unprecedented demand" as the reason she's adding additional showtimes before the film is even released .

“I can’t really wrap my head around this but…. Look what you genuinely made me do: Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening up early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY in America and Canada!! As in… TOMORROW. We’re also adding additional showtimes Friday and throughout the weekend,” she said in her Instagram post .

“I can’t thank you enough for wanting to see this film that so vividly captures my favorite adventure I’ve ever been a part of: The Eras Tour. And the best part is, it’s an adventure we’re still on together,” she continued.

Here’s what to know about the “Eras Tour” concert film .

The 'Eras Tour' film release date

The “Eras Tour” concert film will be a filmed version of “Eras Tour” performances from three of the singer's shows in Los Angeles , which took place Aug. 3-5.

The concert film will premiere in most countries at 6 p.m. local time, according to AMC .

Not wanting to go up against Swifties, shortly after the release date was confirmed, “The Exorcist: The Believer” announced it was changing its release date, which was originally Oct. 13.

Founder of Blumhouse, Jason Blum, who is distributing the film alongside Universal and Morgan Creek, tweeted: “Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23.”

He included the hashtag: “#TaylorWins.”

By Sept. 1, Swift had once again disrupted yet another film’s release. Meg Ryan’s movie “What Happens Later” will now be released Nov. 3, instead of Oct. 13, Bleeker Street, the company distributing the rom-com announced.

“So we’ll take our time...Are you ready for it? Meg Ryan ends her 14-year rom-com hiatus and the #Megaissance begins with #WhatHappensLater, now happening...later. Coming only to theaters November 3!” the company tweeted.

The 'Eras Tour' concert film running time

The “Eras Tour” concert film has a running time of 2 hours and 48 minutes, according to AMC Theatres . The live show runs over three hours, so it looks like the film version will be slightly condensed.

Where to watch the 'Eras Tour' concert film

Starting Oct. 13, the “Eras Tour” concert film will be showing in theaters across the U.S., including AMC, Cinemark and Regal. Swift also announced due to high demand, there will be early access showings Oct. 12 in Canada and the United States.

Every AMC location in the country will offer at least four showtimes a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, AMC said in a release.

AMC is also distributing the film to other theaters across North America and has deals with major theatrical exhibitors like Cineplex in Canada and Cinepolis in Mexico to show the concert film.

In Europe, the concert film will play in every ODEON Cinemas location, according to AMC.

"Additionally, AMC and its sub-distribution partners are taking steps to reach agreements with additional cinema operators throughout the world to play this spectacular Taylor Swift tour-de-force," the company said in a previous press release.

How to get tickets for the 'Eras Tour' concert film

According to a link shared by Swift on X , fans can purchase tickets for the “Eras Tour” concert film in the U.S. via AMC, Regal, Cinemark or Fandango.

In an effort to deal with the expected overwhelming demand for tickets — and no doubt to avoid the ticketing issues that have plagued the booking process for live shows — AMC introduced a queuing system to access its website.

“Thank you for your patience as we experience high traffic volume,” a previous message read on AMC’s website when first accessed. “We have proactively created this queue for all visitors. When it is your turn, you will have 10 minutes to begin your TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film ticket purchase or other online visit.”

AMC said in a release that it upgraded its website and ticketing system to cope with a high volume of ticket sales. But the chain also noted that “no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale.”

AMC warned that people booking tickets online may experience delays, wait times and outages.

AMC noted on its ticket-booking page that tickets are nonrefundable and that "no passes, exchange tickets, or discount tickets may be used."

For those outside of North America, tickets went on sale for most participating locations Sept. 26, according to AMC.

Ticket prices for the 'Eras Tour' concert film

Adult tickets for the “Eras Tour” concert film at AMC Theatres in the U.S. will be priced at $19.89 plus tax, in a playful reference to Swift’s fifth (and soon-to-be-re-released) studio album, “1989.”

Children’s and senior tickets are $13.13 plus tax, a wink at Swift’s famous lucky number of 13.

Some showings at IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC and “other premium large formats” may have a higher ticket price, which varies by format and theater.

For international Swifties , ticket prices will vary by country, according to AMC.

Will the 'Eras Tour' concert film be available to stream?

As of now, the “Eras Tour” concert film is available only in movie theaters. Swift has not indicated whether there are plans to release the film on streaming platforms.

Is the live 'Eras Tour' still happening?

“The Eras Tour,” which kicked off in March 2023 , is still in full swing. After wrapping up her initial run of shows in North America, Swift is set to begin the international leg of the tour this November with shows across South America, Asia, Australia and Europe through August 2024.

She also added extra shows in the U.S. and Canada in October and November 2024.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Movie Hits New Milestone

Taylor Swift has again proven that she's a pop culture icon after hitting another impressive milestone with her Eras Tour movie.

Swift embarked on the juggernaut global venture in March 2023 and eventually released a concert movie of it—titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour —which smashed box office records after its release in October.

It made $92 million in its first weekend and became the highest-grossing domestic concert film of all time just on those opening days. It also made $26 million on the first day of advanced ticket sales . The previous record of $16.9 million was held by Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 .

Now it has surpassed $260 million at the box office, grossing $261,656,269 worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

Domestically it has made $180,756,269, which is 69.1 percent of the total, and internationally it has raked in $80,900,000, accounting for 30.9 percent.

Newsweek emailed Swift's publicist for comment Wednesday.

The concert movie was shown in AMC , Cinemark and Regal cinemas in the U.S. and was also shown in Canada and Mexico. AMC previously confirmed that tickets for the Eras Tour movie were the highest advance sales in the company's 103-year history.

The entertainment company had already planned to run four showtimes per day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but then said "to accommodate this extraordinary demand... AMC already is adding additional auditoriums to play the concert film at numerous theaters throughout the United States."

Now fans can stream the Eras Tour movie online through platforms such as Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV depending on their location.

This year has already been huge for Swift, who not only became the first person to win Album of the Year four times at the Grammys in February but in January, she became the first person to have five albums each with over 7 billion streams on Spotify.

Swift's Eras Tour previously broke the Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing tour of all time. The 34-year-old singer-songwriter's dates began in March 2023 and are set to conclude in December 2024 after a total of 152 shows worldwide.

The tour's last concert was a sold-out show at the 55,000-seat National Stadium in Singapore on March 9. Swift is taking an extended break before her next concert, in France in May.

"We got to play 6 shows in Singapore for the most wonderful crowds — just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows," Swift wrote on Instagram on March 10.

"What an unforgettable way to end this leg of the tour!! See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!! In the meantime, I've got an album to release."

Swift's success this year doesn't end there as she sent fans into a frenzy by releasing her highly anticipated album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) on April 19.

Two hours after TTPD dropped, Swift revealed the ultimate bombshell to her legions of fans: she was releasing a secret double album. The second part includes 15 extra songs, bringing the total of newly released tracks to 31.

Within hours, TTPD started smashing streaming records, including becoming Spotify's most-streamed album in one day. TTPD got 300 million streams in 24 hours, Spotify revealed on its social media.

This broke the previous record that Swift also held with her album Midnights which achieved the feat of 185 million listens in a day.

All the proof Taylor Swift is making first major change to Eras Tour

Welcome to "The Tortured Poets Department" (Eras Tour Version).

eras tour movie regal cinemas

It looks like Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour is getting a brand new era, straight from the Tortured Poets Department .

Since the announcement of her new 11th studio album ( which dropped April 19 ), fans have been anxiously waiting to see if her worldwide, career-spanning tour would get a shakeup to accommodate the new music. While Swift is remaining mum, and a rep for the singer didn't respond to an EW request for comment, a new YouTube Short posted to Swift's account seems to provide all the clarity Swifties needed that a change is imminent.

In the video, which is part of Swift's #ForAFortnightChallenge tied to the album's first single, "Fortnight," the 14-time Grammy winner can be seen rehearsing for tour with her backup dancers. While some shots are obviously from the Folklore , Lover , and other existing "eras" of the show, several blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments have never been seen before.

In one, Swift, clad in workout gear, appears to be wearing the same boots seen in her "Fortnight" video . She's holding on to a banister that looks like it has the Tortured Poets Department emblem on it — the "P" and the "D" can just be made out.

taylor swift/youtube

Although the video is in grayscale, and therefore exact colors are impossible to identify for sure, several shots feature what looks like a new white-ish mic, which has never been seen before. The new era's color, of course, is also an off-white hue.

Perhaps the most interesting moment of the new clip, though, is one that features what looks like new choreography and costumes. Swift's backup dancers can be seen in top hats and dancing with canes, while she sings in the front middle of the group — choreography and props which have so far not been featured in the concert.

This is all speculative until the tour resumes in Paris, France, on May 9, of course, but if Swift is adding a whole new era, it would mark the first major change to the setlist since Swift began performing it last March.

Throughout the tour, she's made little swaps here or there: She added performances with some of the artists who opened for her like HAIM or Phoebe Bridgers, and she added "Long Live" to the Speak Now section when that re-recorded album released during tour. She also swapped out "Invisible String" for the "The 1" in the Folklore section after news of her split with Joe Alwyn broke.

But, nothing has majorly been added or subtracted from the show, which is already a whopping three-and-a-half hours long. Now, if anyone could pull off adding more runtime to Eras, it's the "Mastermind" herself, but it's more likely that some songs will be getting cut to make room for new material. Fans have theorized that the tracks that didn't make it into the VOD rental of the Eras Tour concert film — "The Archer," "Wildest Dreams," "Cardigan," and "Long Live" — could be first on the chopping block, but we'll just have to wait and see what Ms. Swift has up her cryptic and Machiavellian sleeve.
