How to get tickets to international shows on Taylor Swift’s 'Eras Tour'

The “Shake It Off” singer’s fan base infamously crashed Ticketmaster when they overcrowded the system while trying to buy tickets when they went live on Nov. 15, 2022. Since then, the platform has employed a new ticket purchasing process that has kept crashes at bay — so far.

The new purchasing multistep process first requires preregistration in order to be eligible for presales and regular sales. However, presales and registration are closed for all current international tour dates.

Fans who are interested in attending an international show can try purchasing tickets on reseller sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek.

Taylor Swift Taps Paramore for European Eras Tour Run

Taylor Swift knows we need more — so she’s giving us just that. The singer has added 14 more shows to the European/U.K. leg of her Eras Tour , and announced that Paramore will provide support throughout the trek.

“Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour,” Swift wrote on Twitter Wednesday, July 5. “And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore !! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???”

Last month, Swift added dozens of shows to her Taylor Swift: The Eras stadium tour — bringing the total count of shows to a whooping 104 nights . She also extended her run at Los Angeles’ So-Fi Stadium with a sixth show scheduled for Aug. 7.

The new addition comes after the singer announced shows in Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Europe earlier this week. (See below for the full tour dates.)

“EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY 🙋‍♀️,” she wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates!”

She also added more dates to her already-announced Latin America tour. After wrapping her U.S. dates in Los Angeles on Aug. 9, Swift will head to Mexico City for four straight shows at Foro Sol starting Aug. 24. She’ll then stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil in November.

Swift first announced the tour last October after she completely took over the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 with Midnights . The added dates, which follow the addition of eight new shows last week, were slotted in “due to unprecedented demand,” according to the singer’s camp.

“Good Morning America, it’s Taylor,” Swift said during the announcement. “I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time and I’ve been planning for ages, and I finally get to tell you I’m going back on tour. The tour is called the ‘Eras’ tour, and it’s a journey through all of my musical eras of my career.”

Taylor Swift Performs ‘I Did Something Bad’ for First Time During Eras Tour

See taylor swift debut ‘london boy’ during eras tour show at wembley, taylor swift wasn't going to miss a chance to diss kanye after the 'vultures 2' release.

Across the tour, Swift is being supported in select cities by a combination of special guests including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN.

The Eras tour follows the cancelation of her planned 2020 Lover Fest tour, which was originally going to see her make stadium stops in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York, along with Brazil, Denmark, Norway, and Poland. “This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future,” she wrote in 2021.

Swift last went the road in 2018 for her massive Reputation Stadium Tour , which saw Swift accompanied by the likes of Charli XCX and Camila Cabello across the United States, the United Kingdom, along with Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The tour was the highest-grossing music tour by a female artist that year.

Since her last tour, Swift has released four albums and two re-releases: Lover , Folklore , Evermore , Midnights , and Taylor’s Version editions of Fearless and Red with additional songs. In total, she’s dropped 90 tracks of new material, not including collaborations with the likes of Haim and Big Red Machine.

Fans have long wondered what music she’ll be performing on the road, with some theorizing that she’d host a residency in Las Vegas or a music festival where she’d perform different “eras” on different nights.

Along with packing her setlist with songs from Reputation in 2018, she surprised each city with an acoustic rendition of fan favorites like “Red,” “Holy Ground,” and “Wildest Dreams.” At select shows, she also brought out special guests. Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, Hayley Kiyoko, and Maren Morris were among the artists to be brought out by Swift.

She previously took her 1989 album on the road for 85 dates, where she was accompanied by the likes of Mendes, James Bay, Vance Joy, and Haim. Before then was The Red Tour in 2013 and 2014, and her Speak Now World Tour from 2011 to 2012.

Ed Sheeran joins Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium: Follow live updates from London

Portrait of Bryan West

LONDON — Welcome to the live blog for the Eras Tour in London!

Taylor Swift returns to the stage for the final stop on the European leg of the Eras Tour after a suspected terror plot was thwarted in Vienna. Security measures are tight at Wembley Stadium. Fans with floor tickets were not allowed to camp overnight in the hopes of getting a spot closer to the stage, and Swifties can no longer "Taylor-gate" outside of the stadium if they don't have tickets.

As the Taylor Swift reporter for the USA TODAY Network, I’ll be your host for the evening keeping you updated on all the happenings from inside Wembley Stadium. Since taking the Taylor Swift reporter job in November, I’ve watched the show 69 times in person or on grainy livestreams (equivalent to 230 hours or nine and a half days). Confetti falls to the floor

And that’s a wrap on Thursday night in Wembley. Swift has four more shows in London. “The Alchemy” is ushering fans out as cleanups begin. Many fans are scurrying to pick up colorful confetti representing Swift’s various eras.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

The credits for the cast and crew are projecting on the back screen.

During year one, the background song was “You’re On Your Own Kid” from “Midnights.”

Will Swift make an announcement before her two-month break and return to North America?

We will be covering the highlights over the next few days.

Karma is the guy on the...

We are in the final song of the night.

Swift wore the glistening sky-blue T-shirt during “Anti-Hero,” the dark blue one-piece during "Midnight Rain" and is now grooving in the magenta fur coat to wrap up night one in Wembley Stadium.

She has sang "Karma (Travis' Version)" 13 times for the 13 shows he's attended as her boyfriend where she swaps out "Karma is the guy on the screen" with "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs." And while she will sing the former tonight, the audience will most likely scream the latter.

Ed Sheeran joins Eras Tour stage

Swift welcomed special guest Ed Sheeran to join her onstage for a mashup of their songs "Everything Has Changed" and "End Game" on acoustic guitar. The British singer-songwriter appeared on the original album recordings of the songs that appeared on "Red (Taylor's Version)" and "Reputation," respectively.

For the surprise set, the singer had something up her sleeveless blue dress. She began strumming her guitar singing “Everything Has Changed” from “Red (Taylor’s Version).”

The audience gasped. Some Swifties whispered, “Is Ed here?”

The song is a duet between Swift and her longtime friend Ed Sheeran.

“I just feel like something’s missing,” Swift said, and the decibel level in the stadium rocketed off the charts. “Good thing Ed Sheeran is here.”

He appeared on the center platform.

After harmonizing, the two mashed in “End Game,” another duet they sing on Swift’s sixth album “Reputation.” They finished with Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

The crowd belted the song.

As they both strummed at the end, they gave each other a big hug and raised their guitars in the air. Swift kissed the top of Ed Sheeran’s head and then ruffled his red locks.

“This is my best friend, he is like a second brother to me,” Swift said, mentioning Sheeran is on tour and probably tired. She asked the crowd to make some noise and the noise felt like it might break the sound barrier.

The shock that surged through the stadium with Ed Sheeran as a surprise guest couldn’t be matched but Swift delivered a sweet mashup on the piano between “King of My Heart” from “Reputation” and “The Alchemy” from “The Tortured Poets Department.” The watches glowed bright green.Where’s the trophy? That was an epic surprise set for night one in Wembley!

Here comes the 'Tayoomba'

She was tame, she was gentle. But now Swift is on the Roomba-esque machine. The maddening and shiny contraption allows her to belt high notes while chasing her dancers.

During the last few shows in Germany and Warsaw, Poland, Swift added a shriek after the second-to-last line, "So who's afraid of little old me?" She did it again in London on Thursday.

A cool effect that always gets fans excited is the final filtered shot on the back screen where Swift looks like a dead-eyed glowing soul. She always tilts her head to the side. She told Post Malone in her "Fortnight" behind-the-scenes video, "Nothing says crazy like a slight tilt to the head."

Wembley screams 'LON-DON' during 'Blank Space' chant

When Swift performed "Blank Space," one of her most famous songs and one of Travis Kelce's favorites, the crowd played its part. Between lines of the bridge, stadiums shout the names of their city while Swift sings, "Boys only want love if it's torture." This ritual started during Swift's stint in Sydney, Australia, because of the 1989 World Tour movie shot there in 2015. During the song, Swift grabbed an iron golf club and struck a metal pole sticking out of the stage: boom, boom. She paused and did it again: boom, boom. But this time sang "Syd-ney." You can read more about the chant here .

Wait for the signal and I'll meet you after dawn

The lightning in the stadium sounded and Swift sauntered to meet her dancers dressed in green cloaks at the back of the stage. Holding glass, light-up orbs they recited the "Willow" chant. This is when fans blow up balloons and use cell phone lights to make them glow.

The Wembley Stadium listed balloons as one of the items not allowed inside, but a few hundred fans made orbs anyway.

In Amsterdam, three Swifties started the "Willow" trend. You can check out their story here .

Wembley gives Swift 3-minute standing ovation

When she pulled her inner ears out after "Champagne Problems," the audience lost it. She smiled and clutched her hands to her chest.

“If any of us — me, the dancers or the band — have a bad day again, we are going to replay that little memory in our minds,” she said to the crowd.

Swift gets emotional during 'Folkmore' era

After finishing "Cardigan," Swift addressed the crowd.

"I just have to be honest with you guys now that I’ve calmed down a little bit," she said. "The first time I saw this crowd when I came out from backstage ... my whole mind went blank."

She described the feeling as a "love system overload."

"I can't believe that 92,000 people are being this loving and caring and generous to us all at once," she said. "It's just wonderful what you do for us. ... All of us are going to miss it so much when we don't get to do it anymore. Feelings and emotions that I didn’t think about before talking about in front of 92,000 people."

Eras Tour outfits

On Thursday, Swift wore the following:

  • Her blue and pink "Lover" bodysuit
  • Her silver blazer for "The Man"
  • Her black and silver "Fearless" dress
  • Her "A lot going on at the moment" T-shirt for "Red"
  • Her purple cupcake dress for "Speak Now"
  • Her classic "Reputation" bodysuit
  • Her green dress for "Folkmore"
  • Her green and pink top and skirt for "1989"
  • Her "Who's afraid of little old me? You should be" gown for "The Tortured Poets Department"
  • The black two-piece with a gold jacket for "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart"
  • Her blue dress for the acoustic set
  • Her sky-blue T-shirt for "Anti-Hero"
  • Her chevron bodysuit for "Midnight Rain"
  • Finally, Swift closed the show in her magenta fur coat

If you happen to have 10 minutes to spare...

Swift’s dancers exit the stage following “I Knew You Were Trouble” as Swift slings her guitar over her shoulder and heads to center stage alone. The Eras Tour's guitar hangs in anticipation of playing Swift's heartbreaking ballad from the “Red” era.

If not for the rerecording of her fourth era, Swifties may have never heard “All Too Well (10-Minute Version).” The singer stated in an interview that the original song had been edited down to five minutes. Fans implored her to release the lengthier version and she did as a vault song to “Red (Taylor’s Version).” The song skyrocketed on the charts, unseating “American Pie” by Don McLean as the longest No. 1 hit in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart history.

“We were lucky enough to play Wembley stadium back in June, were any of you there?” she asked Thursday to get a loud cheer response. “Thanks for coming back, you guys.”She asks if anyone is new. An even louder roar erupts.

Swift has performed the 10 minute and 13 second song 127 times. In total, that’s 1,298 minutes or 22 hours. At the end, white confetti will fall to the ground to represent snow referenced in the heartbreak anthem.

What did Kam say?

A fan-favorite for livestreamers is to log on and see what dancer Kameron Saunders is going to say during the bridge of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."

When Swift performed 53 shows across America, he said “Like Ever” as a response to Swift saying, “So he calls me up and he’s like, ‘I still love you,' and I mean this is exhausting, like we are never getting back together.” But for her international shows he mixed up the expression catering it to the culture and language of each international city.

On Thursday in London, Saunders said, “Are you mad?”

For a complete list of Saunders' sayings, click here .

The coveted '22' hat

Taylor Swift emerged for her “Red” era in her "A Lot Going On at the Moment" shirt. Swift has six custom-made shirts including: “We are never getting back together like ever,” “Who’s Taylor Swift anyway? Ew,” “This is not Taylor’s Version,” “I bet you think about me” and “I knew U were trouble.”

Different than her other tours, there are no meet-and-greets or secret fan rooms, so the closest a mere mortal can get to the superstar is being the one chosen as the “22" hat recipient. Swift’s team makes the selection moments before the concert begins and usually invites that person to the VIP tent area. At the conclusion of the “Fearless” era, her team will bring the lucky fan down to the end of the catwalk.

Swift autographs the brim of the black fedora designed by milliner Gladys Tamez.

“I’ve been like so, so humble and so grateful to do this,” Tamez said in April, “because I’ve worked with her team for a long time and then to have this moment, I was excited.”

Tonight Swift has chosen the 127th member of the exclusive "22" fedora club .

Idris Elba attends Eras Tour

Actor Idris Elba attended Thursday's show. It's only appropriate since he iconically introduced "London Boy" on the "Lover" album. Before the beat drops he says, "We can go drivin' in, on my scooter / Uh, you know, just 'round London."

During Swift's June residency at Wembley, an abundance of A listers attended including Prince William and two of his children,  Sir Paul McCartney,  Jon Bon Jovi, Hugh Grant, Cate Blanchett, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, Kylie Kelce and Swift's parents Scott and Andrea.

The last European shows of the Eras Tour

"What an absolute honor and what a delight and a thrill it is to say these words to you: London, welcome to the Eras Tour!" Swift told Wembley Stadium. “I stand here on this stage knowing that I’m about to play the first show of the last stop of the European leg of the Eras Tour, and the way that you’ve chosen to welcome us, 92,000 of you and screaming the words. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.”

Swift thanked her opening acts, starting with Sofia Isella.

“It’s crazy to me that it’s coming to an end,” Swift says of touring Europe with her opening act Paramore.

The show begins

Oh hi! Taylor Swift returns to the stage to perform her “Lover set.” This is the singer’s first appearance since her team canceled three shows in Vienna because of a thwarted terrorist plot. She glimmers in her blue and pink bodysuit.

The 34-year-old has five “Lover” bodysuit variations: tangerine, gold and blue, purple, pink, and blue and pink.

“Well fancy meeting you here at Wembley Stadium," she says, pointing to the restricted view section and tracing the arena. The 92,000 fans let out an ear-shattering roar.“OK well that was amazing. I’m really feeling like immediately that has gone to my head. You’ve got me feeling really, really powerful," she says as she puts on a silver jacket before singing "The Man."

Cue the Eras Tour overture

The backdrop screen to the Eras Tour just shifted to a countdown clock starting at 2:24. Leslie Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” fills the stadium.

When the tour first started in March of 2023, fans were surprised Swift began her set with “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince,” but the opener makes sense due to the lines “it’s been a long time coming” and “it’s you and me, that’s my whole world." Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Swift had to cancel her Loverfest stadium show in 2021 and hadn’t toured since the Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.

After her first football stadium concert series and before the start of the Eras Tour, she released four new eras: “Lover,” “Folklore,” “Evermore” and “Midnights.” For the Eras Tour, she combined her 10 eras into a three-plus-hour show.

When Swift released “The Tortured Poets Department” in April — under the veil of secrecy — she and her dancers flew a little over a week early to Paris to rehearse an updated show. The crowd lost it when they saw the new version on May 9.

If you’re following along, here is the order of the eras in the overture:

  • “It's fearless”
  • “Big reputation”
  • “And they said ’Speak Now’”
  • “Into folklore”
  • “My name is Taylor, and I was born in 1989”
  • “Straight from the tortured poets department”
  • “Cause loving him was red”
  • “Meet me at midnight”

Standby: We're 'In Ha Mood'

The Ice Spice beat dropped. Swifties are trained to run back from the bathroom or concession stands as soon as they hear "In Ha Mood" begin playing. It means Taylor Swift will appear in about 10 minutes.

The dancers and band will make their way to the stage. Taylor Swift is hidden in a “cleaning cart” at the end of the cast walking up the ramp. Her cart is being pushed by production workers who will stop the cart right before a set of stairs that take Swift to the main platform.

“Applause” by Lady Gaga will play next. As the song blares across an anxious and excited audience, dancers will put pink and ombre parachute flaps on their backs and line up behind the main stage door.

Taylor Swift's massive set list of 46 songs

The crowd eagerly awaited the start of the show as the "Bejeweled" behind-the-scenes video played indicating Swift was about to embark on a three-plus-hour show era-by-era. Here is her 46-song setlist:

  • Lover: "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince," "Cruel Summer," "The Man," "You Need to Calm Down" and "Lover"
  • Fearless: "Fearless," "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story"
  • Red: "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)"
  • Speak Now: "Enchanted"
  • Reputation: "...Ready For It?" "Delicate," "Don't Blame Me" and "Look What You Made Me Do"
  • Folkmore (Folklore and Evermore combined set): "Cardigan," "Betty," "Champagne Problems," "August," "Illicit Affairs," "My Tears Ricochet," "Marjorie" and "Willow"
  • 1989: "Style," "Blank Space," "Shake it Off," "Wildest Dreams" and "Bad Blood"
  • The Tortured Poets Department: "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" and "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart"
  • Acoustic guitar mashup and acoustic piano mashup
  • Midnights: "Lavender Haze," "Anti-Hero," "Midnight Rain," "Vigilante S---," "Bejeweled," "Mastermind" and "Karma"

Paramore set list

“Oh yeah London! It’s good to be back with you," Hayley Williams boomed into the mic. "Oh how we’ve missed you. We can never get enough London. Ever!”“It’s an honor and a privilege to be here. Never in our entire world did we ever think we’d play at Wembley Stadium so thank you for making this possible.”Their set list included:

  • “Hard Times” with Blondie mashup of “Heart of Glass”
  • “Burning Down the House”
  • “Still Into You”
  • “Forgiveness”
  • “Caught in the Middle”
  • “The Only Exception”
  • “Misery Business”
  • “Ain’t It Fun”
  • “This Is Why”

The rousing opening act energized Wembley as Williams lay on the ground in the center spotlight and belted the end of “Ain’t It Fun.” London was overcast, with the open-roofed arena sitting at 73 degrees. The floor was packed with every inch covered by Swifties and the rest of the stadium filled to 60%. Swift will take the stage in about 30 minutes.

'Ain't it fun' that Paramore is here?

Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro have been the opening act for Taylor Swift on the European leg of the  Eras Tour . The trio have dazzled for 43 shows across Europe. They will wrap their involvement on Tuesday and make their way back to Nashville, Tennessee, where they're based.

Right before leaving for Paris in May, Paramore was dubbed the Global Ambassadors for Record Store Day, a title Swift held in 2022. They surprised fans at Grimey's record store in Nashville.

Swift's final opening act for the remaining North America shows will be Gracie Abrams.

Is Travis Kelce coming back to Eras Tour?

It's not likely Swift's boyfriend will be at the shows in England. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has his final training camp practice on Thursday before the Chiefs' preseason home game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions. Although Swift could make the following preseason home game on Aug. 22 as the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears.

Who could forget Travis Kelce breaking the internet the last time Swift performed in Wembley by appearing on stage to carry her after her symbolic crash to the ground from "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived." He attempted to revive her alongside backup dancers Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders so she could sing, "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Sofia Isella set list

“This is the most insane view I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” opening act Sofia Isella told Wembley Stadium.

Her set list included:

  • “Cacao and Cocaine”
  • “Everybody Supports Women”
  • “Unattractive”
  • “I Looked the Future in the Eyes, It's Mine”

Isella played six songs in her 25-minute set.

Sofia Isella takes the stage

Similar to inviting three artists to open before Paramore in June, Swift has invited five singers to share the stage in Wembley Stadium. Up first is Sofia Isella , a 19-year-old classically trained violinist, songwriter, producer and singer. The rising star was born in Beverly Hills, California, but lives in Australia.

When Swift let the cat out of the bag on Aug. 5, Isella shared a message on Instagram: "Someone I’ve never met has changed my life even more than she already has just through her writing alone. Your fearlessness in continuing to push yourself and win again and again is the most joyful thing to watch, Taylor. Thank you."

The acts that will open the rest of the Wembley dates are:

  • Friday: Holly Humberstone
  • Saturday: Suki Waterhouse
  • Monday: Maisie Peters
  • Tuesday: Raye

Doors are open

It's official. Wembley Stadium has just opened the doors to allow VIP guests into the arena. The general admission sections will open in about thirty minutes. Thousands of Swifties are pouring in.

Lining up at 4 a.m.

Amy Willow of Brighton, United Kingdom, rode up on the overnight train with her two best friends hoping to get in line for Thursday night's Eras Tour show. The early morning wake up call landing her at Wembley Stadium at 4 a.m. was a good call. She ended up being first in line.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, there's going to be like a queue of a hundred people,'" she says four hours before general admission doors open. "Crickets, literal crickets. There was no one here. It was amazing."

Wembley Stadium tells fans without a ticket: Don't come

The stadium that seats 89,000 fans told anyone without an Eras Tour ticket not to come. Additional ticket checks have been added around the stadium and fans will need to show proof of passes before entering the general vicinity.

Wembley Stadium's website  also implemented stricter security measures including no overnight camping and no  "Taylor-gating,"  where devoted fans without tickets congregate outside of a stadium to listen to the live concert and engage in dancing and friendship bracelet trading. The stadium is not allowing anyone to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympics Steps at the front. Non-ticketholders will be "moved on."

Amid Heightened Security, Taylor Swift Returns to the Stage in London

Fans at Wembley Stadium said they trusted British security officials to keep them safe and cheered loudly when the pop star came onstage.

By Alex Marshall

Reporting from Wembley Stadium in London

When Taylor Swift canceled three concerts in Vienna last week after officials there foiled a terrorist plot , Swifties soon expressed fears about the pop star’s next shows, in London.

Would Swift go ahead with the concerts at Wembley Stadium? Given that the pop star once said her “biggest fear” was a terrorist attack at one of her shows, some fans had doubts. Was it even safe to attend?

When Swift did not comment on the thwarted attack in Vienna or the upcoming London gigs, fan anxieties only grew.

Yet when the singer took the stage on Thursday evening, worry gave way to excitement at the chance to see Swift perform during the European leg of her globe-spanning Eras Tour . As Swift walked onstage singing “It’s been a long time coming” — a refrain from her track “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince” — the sold-out crowd cheered deliriously.

She then launched into “Cruel Summer.”

In the end, despite the interest in the Austrian plot, Swift did not refer to it even obliquely at the London show. Instead, she played an almost identical gig to the others on her Eras Tour, a joyous three-hour-plus spectacle featuring hits, costume changes and, at one point, a fake moss-covered wood cabin. For most of the concert, the 90,000 fans sang along to every word, including when she was joined by Ed Sheeran for an acoustic medley.

In interviews before the show, more than a dozen fans, including many from the United States, all said they felt safe attending the event. Kyle Foster — wearing a Kansas City Chiefs jersey like Swift’s partner, Travis Kelce — said he had flown from North Carolina with his partner and two daughters for the show.

“We didn’t think twice about coming,” said Foster, 46, adding that he felt confident security would “be on high alert.”

Maya Arbad, 18, who had traveled from Dubai, said two friends had decided not to attend the concert because of the foiled attack. “Their families were just too anxious to send them here,” Arbad said.

That had made her question the trip, too, Arbad added, “but my dad said, ‘Let’s just do it. We’ve been waiting too long.’”

Wembley already had strict security measures , including a ban on bringing large bags into the stadium. After the cancellations in Vienna last week, the venue also forbade ticketless Swifties from gathering outside the arena, as they have done at other stops on the Eras Tour, to soak up the atmosphere and exchange friendship bracelets.

Austrian police said the main suspect in Vienna was a 19-year-old man who had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State after being radicalized online. Officers had found chemicals that could be used to make bombs, as well as machetes and knives, in the man’s home, a senior security official said last week.

The plan was reminiscent of other recent atrocities at European concert venues, including a 2015 attack at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris , where more than 90 people died, and a 2017 suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert , in Manchester, England, that killed 22 people. This year, gunmen attacked a Moscow rock show , killing more than 140 concertgoers.

In recent days, British police and politicians played down the threat of a similar event happening at Wembley. A spokesman for the London police said there was “nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here.”

Several security experts said in interviews that large British theaters and arenas had greatly improved their security since the bombing at the Grande concert.

A government-commissioned inquiry revealed numerous security lapses that led to the attack at Manchester Arena. The bomber, Salman Abedi, who had scoped the venue beforehand, spent over an hour hiding in a security camera blind spot. A member of the public also told a steward about a suspicious man with a bag lurking in a foyer, but guards brushed it off.

Reg Walker, the director of I.S.G. Security, which works at many of Britain’s largest entertainment venues, said that British security teams used to focus on managing the lines of people entering concerts. Now, operations extend to surveillance inside the venue, as well as at train stations and parking lots, both before and after shows.

On Thursday, the visible security measures were similar to those at any other major pop concert. A handful of police officers watched over the pedestrian promenades around the stadium while dozens of security staff patrolled the gathering crowd.

Although bags were banned in the arena, they were allowed in the stadium’s merchandise store — after a thorough search. Fans could purchase Eras-themed T-shirts and sweatshirts and even a Swift water bottle, although signs at the cashiers warned, “Water bottles are unable to be taken into the stadium.”

Even with the extra security measures, terrorism seemed to be the last thing on the minds of the 90,000 Swifties in Wembley. They sang and danced along to their idol’s every word, some hugging nearby strangers as if they could not believe they finally had a chance to see her.

Taylor Swift returns to stage to perform The Eras Tour in London after foiled terror plot saw Vienna shows cancelled

A woman in a sparkling leotard sings and looks on.

Taylor Swift has returned to the stage in London as part of The Eras Tour.

It is the first time she has performed publicly since three shows in Austria were cancelled after authorities uncovered a terror plot to "kill as many people as possible" in the crowd.

What's next:

Swift will play four more shows at Wembley Stadium ahead of more performances in the United States and Canada before the end of the year.

As far as acts of defiance go, it was one of the more colourful ones.

Adorned in sequins, cowboy hats and — of course — the friendship bracelets that have become synonymous with The Eras Tour, the fans in London proved a point on Thursday night.

Taylor Swift has returned to the stage for the first time since three performances in Vienna were cancelled after authorities uncovered a terrorist plot to "kill as many people as possible" at them.

A sold-out crowd flocked to Wembley Stadium, which was configured to hold 90,000 people for the pop star's second run of London shows this summer.

It was also her first concert in England since three children were stabbed to death at a dance class which was billed as "Taylor Swift-themed" in the country's north last month.

It's the same tour that wowed crowds in Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year.

Four young women look at the camera and smile

Swift had been due to perform at Ernst Happel Stadium, in the Austrian capital, on August 8, 9 and 10 as part of her record-breaking tour.

However, the shows were cancelled after authorities uncovered a terror blueprint to attack revellers.

Two people have been arrested over the alleged plot — a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy — while others have been detained and questioned.

Police claim the oldest suspect has confessed to planning to "kill as many people as possible" using knives and homemade explosives outside one of the shows.

They also claim he had pledged allegiance to the terrorist group Islamic State.

Swift did not address the cancellations in the week between the planned Austrian shows, and her London dates.

The Shake It Off singer took to the stage about 6.45pm local time, to wild cheers.

When she performed her hit 22 at Wembley, Swift wore a shirt with the words "A LOT GOING ON AT THE MOMENT" on the front, in what could have been a nod to the tragic and tumultuous past three weeks.

In the music video for the song, released in 2012, she wore a shirt saying "NOT A LOT GOING ON AT THE MOMENT".

Swift has worn shirts with various and alternating messages when singing 22, over the course of The Eras Tour.

Two young women wearing colourful cowboy hats smile at the camera.

Sisters Rosabelle, 11, and Emneline, 17, were among those with tickets to Thursday night's show.

The pair said they were excited to be attending their first Taylor Swift concert and were not concerned about safety.

"We've been to concerts here before and it's definitely 10 times more security than it's ever been here," Emneline said.

"I'm feeling perfectly fine. They're going to do a great job. They always do. I'm not worried at all."

Other fans heading to the show said they felt it was the safest time to attend a major event, given the increased security.

A woman, a boy, a girl and a man smile at the camera outdoors.

Mark and his family travelled from their home in Denver, in the United States, to Vienna to watch Swift. Once the concert was cancelled, they managed to get tickets to Thursday night's show in London.

"We can't wait," he said.

"We are ready to enjoy her finally."

He said the family understood why the performances in Austria were cancelled.

"But we're not worried about this show at all," Mark said.

A woman hands a bracelet to a police officer, as other officers and the woman's friends look on

Seema Shirazi, 33, from Belfast travelled to Vienna and had tickets to one of the shows there, before they were cancelled.

"It was also really heartbreaking to see, so many people wearing their concert outfits around Vienna, especially children, like the majority of our families are little children, so it was heartbreaking to see so many people who were forced to have their hearts broke to save their lives, potentially," she said.

"So that was tough."

The fan has managed to score seats at Swift's Saturday night show in London, though.

A large amount of bracelets, seen on two arms from close up.

Ahead of the show, London's Metropolitan Police confirmed officers were working "closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place".

A trend known as Tay-gating, in which fans without tickets congregate outside venues where the pop star is performing, was also banned at Wembley Stadium.

In a statement, the venue's management said "non-ticket holders will be moved on" to facilitate the "safe entry and exit of everyone within the stadium".

It comes after thousands of fans gathered outside Munich's Olympic Stadium to listen to Swift's set last month.

The arms of four women, all adorned with various bracelets.

Noah Price, the international director of the G4S Academy and an expert in security solutions for corporations, said the UK had learned from past attacks at major events, including a suicide bombing at Manchester Arena that killed more than 20 people in 2017.

"Our police force is one of the best in the world and Wembley Stadium is one of the safest stadiums in the world," he said.

"They do these kind of large events all the time. However, you can never, ever reduce risk down to zero."

He said banning people from congregating outside the venue was a good idea.

"They're a soft and attractive target for terrorists," he said.

Swift is due to perform four more concerts in London on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Taylor hit the road with a set list of all of her albums earlier this year, after re-releasing much of her back catalogue in 2022.

She's also set to re-release 'Speak Now' in July, meaning she'll likely update her set list afterwards so she can perform the songs she finally legally owns live.

The current show is around three hours long as Tay fully delves back into all her eras for the iconic concert, from 'Fearless' to 'Midnights' which she dropped at the end of last year.

Taylor Swift announces European Eras tour dates

This is not a drill: taylor swift is heading to europe next year.

By Nick Reilly

Taylor Swift on stage, 2018

Taylor Swift has announced the European run of dates for her Eras tour next summer, including a four-night stint at London’s Wembley Stadium.

The singer announced the dates as she unveiled wider international shows, with the European leg commencing at Paris’ La Defense Arena on May 9 next year.

While dates across the continent are on the cards throughout the summer, she’ll kick off the UK leg with a date at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on June 7 and 8, before heading to Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium for two shows on June 14 and 15.

Further shows follow at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on June 18, before four dates at Wembley Stadium on June 21 and 22 and, at the end of the tour, two concluding dates on August 17 and 18.

Registration for tickets is now open. Fans can register on each city’s official ticket registration page here  up until Thursday 22nd June at 11:59pm (local time) in the UK, and on Friday 23rd June at 11:59pm (local time) in Ireland and Europe.

Curiously there is also a hole in her schedule that could potentially accommodate a headline slot at Glastonbury next year. Swift was due to headline in 2020, but was forced to cancel when the Covid pandemic prompted the festival’s cancellation.

Taylor Swift announces new Eras Tour dates in Europe, Australia and Asia

By C Mandler

June 20, 2023 / 6:55 PM EDT / CBS News

Pop superstar Taylor Swift  on Tuesday announced new concert dates in Asia, Australia and Europe for her Eras Tour , extending her performances through summer 2024.

While Swift's tour was originally just over 50 dates, it has now expanded to more than 100, according to Forbes , with the international leg of the Eras Tour kicking off in August this year in Mexico City — after which Swift will hang up her guitar until November before resuming her stadium shows.

EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY 🙋‍♀️ I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates! Visit https://t.co/EYBevxhQzH for more information on your registrations, pre-sales and on-sales!! pic.twitter.com/G8zx8QUUAV — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) June 20, 2023

Swift's Asia shows will begin next year with four nights in Japan's Tokyo Dome, starting on Feb. 7. Then she'll visit Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, as well as Singapore, before embarking on the tour's European leg in May with two shows in Paris. Unless Swift adds even more dates, she'll close out the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London on August 17, 2024.

The Eras Tour got off to a slightly rocky start when pre-sales for tickets resulted in a lawsuit against Ticketmaster from furious fans , who alleged that the company violated antitrust laws that are designed to protect market competition.

The suit claims that Ticketmaster knowingly sent out pre-sale codes to more fans than it could accommodate. As a result, millions of fans were denied the opportunity to purchase tickets .

But with Swift playing to sold-out crowds either way, the tour is poised to make her a billionaire  and could end up being one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. According to  Forbes , the Eras Tour might earn Swift a cool $500 million on top of her existing estimated net worth of around $570 million.

Some cities are even seeing economic boosts in their local economies as a result of Swift's tour dates, with CBS Philadelphia reporting spikes in visitor center ticket sales and hotel reservations in Philly.

Swift's Pittsburgh shows from last weekend set a new record for the venue — her tour's second show in the city recorded an attendance of 73,117 at the Acrisure Stadium.

Taylor Swift performing songs from The Tortured Poets Department during the Eras Tour

Here Are All of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour European Dates So You Can Follow Along Online

Image of Leah Marilla Thomas

Planning on living vicariously through Taylor Swift’s ongoing stadium tour this summer? Here’s what you need to know about the Eras Tour Europe dates.

I’ll also list the local time at each tour stop in relation to Greenwich Mean Time. (If you’ve never seen that before, the Prime Meridian that determines GMT is located in the Greenwich borough of London, though since it is a dividing line most of London is actually GMT+1, meaning one hour ahead of GMT. In the United States “Eastern Standard Time” is GMT-4, they are four hours behind GMT, and “Pacific Standard Time” is GMT-8, eight hours behind. Why am I explaining all of this? We’re supposed to be talking about Taylor Swift.)

If you’re not in the mood for math, you can also click the times below to be taken to a “what time is it in ___” Google result for your convenience. That way, you’ll know exactly when to tune into social media for the latest acoustic set/secret songs and other Eras updates.

The European era of the Eras tour opened in Paris, and as fans across the world discovered in horror shock it’s a totally different show this summer. We knew that The Tortured Poets Department would mix things up, but things are majorly different. What else is in store? Well, Taylor’s famous for her Fourth of July parties, and this year she’ll be in a party city. But not, like, a Party City. You get it. There are Olympic stadiums, old cities galore, and an extended stay in Germany. Oh, and the opener for the entire European leg of the 2024 tour, by the way, is Paramore. What a treat!

Paris, France – May 9-12

Venue : Paris La Defense Arena Local Time: GMT+2

Stockholm, Sweden – May 17-19

Venue: Friends Arena Local Time: GMT+2

Lisbon, Portugal – May 24-25

Venue: Estádio da Luz Local Time: GMT+1

Madrid, Spain – May 29-30

Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu Local Time: GMT+2

Lyon, France – June 2-3

Venue: Groupama Stadium Local Time: GMT+2

Edinburgh, Scotland – June 8-9

Venue: Groupama Stadium Local Time: GMT+1

Liverpool, England – June 13-15

Venue: Anfield Local Time: GMT+1

Cardiff, Wales – June 18

Venue: Principality Stadium Local Time: GMT+1

London, England – June 21-23

Venue: Wembley Stadium Local Time: GMT+1

Dublin, Ireland – June 28-30

Venue: Aviva Stadium Local Time: GMT+1

Amsterdam, Netherlands – July 4-6

Venue: Johan Cruijff Arena Local Time: GMT+2

Zurich, Switzerland – July 9-10

Venue: Letzigrund Stadion Local Time: GMT+2

Milan, Italy – July 13-14

Venue: San Siro Local Time: GMT+2

Gelsenkirchen, Germany – July 17-19

Venue: Veltins Arena Local Time: GMT+2

Hamburg, Germany – July 23-24

Venue: Volksparkstadion Local Time: GMT+2

Munich, Germany – July 27-28

Venue: Olympiastadion München Local Time: GMT+2

Warsaw, Poland – August 1-3

Venue: PGE Narodowy – National Stadium Local Time: GMT+2

Vienna, Austria – August 8-10

Venue: Ernst Happel Stadion Local Time: GMT+2

London, England – August 15-20

So she didn’t really say “so long, London” (couldn’t resist) in June because she’s back in August for an even longer stay! Hey, “August” is another song title! And thus ends the Eras Tour’s not-so-cruel summer in Europe!

Taylor Swift Pushes Up Set Times for Wembley Stadium Eras Tour Gigs; Unticketed Swifties Told To Stay Home

Swifties will be let into Wembley Stadium a bit earlier than usual for Taylor Swift ‘s upcoming Eras Tour shows in London. According to the venue , early entry for Thursday's (August 15) kick-off of the five-night stand will begin at 3:30 local time, with general admission beginning at 4 p.m. and the show starting at 4:55; both entry times have been pushed up by 15 minutes, leading to reports in the English press that Swift may take the stage earlier than her typical 7:25 start time as well.

Those time frames will also hold for the August 19 and August 20 shows, while Friday (August 16) and Saturday's (August 17) gigs will push early entry to 3:45 and GA to 4:15, with the show slated to start at 5:10. At press time a spokesperson for Swift had not returned a request for comment on the change to the show times. Swift will be joined on the dates by Raye, Holly Humberstone, Paramore and Suki Waterhouse.

The sold-out five-night stay that will wrap up Swift's European Eras Tour European swing will unfold a week after officials in Vienna foiled what they said was a terror plot aimed at disrupting the singer's global outing during what was a planned three-night run at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium on August 8-10. So far, two arrests have been made in the incident, including the as-yet-unnamed 19-year-old main suspect, who reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terror group and admitted to the plot he said would have involved the use of home made explosives and knives to attack fans outside the stadium; another teenager has also been taken into custody in the incident and a third was detained as well.

Undeterred by the plot in which the 19-year-old said he hoped to kill as many people as possible, Swifties gathered in the streets of Vienna to sing her songs and get engaged . A day after the arrests, officials in London assured fans that the cancelled Vienna shows would not impact the UK gigs.

During the European tour dates viral videos have shown unticketed Swifties gathering by the tens of thousands for the traditional "Tay-gating" outside the venues, including last month in Munich were an estimated 40,000 people sat on a hillside to listen to the show. Following the Vienna threat, though, Wembley has strongly discouraged such unsanctioned gatherings.

Wembley also noted that because the venue is situated in a residential area, organizers have asked that only Swifties with tickets or those visiting the merch megastores visit to avoid disruption to local businesses and residents. "To support with the safe entry and exit of everyone within the stadium, no one is allowed to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. Non ticket holders will be moved on," the venue noted.
