Pokémon GO , likely the world's most recognizable augmented reality game , hosts a gigantic in-person event February 18-19 in Las Vegas. This "tour" celebrates Hoenn, the setting for the third generation of Pokémon games, Ruby and Sapphire.

As with each of the game's previous tours, Pokémon GO Tour Hoenn focuses on a particular Pokémon, elemental type, or pop culture moment tied to the franchise. For this event, legendary powerhouses Kyogre and Groudon will have access to their Primal forms — a process that allows them to revert back to their original designs which feature flowing lava and brighter patterns on Groudon's arms and Kyogre's fins.

Returning to a beloved region

At the start of the event, players can choose from two teams, Ruby or Sapphire. The former increases the presence of Primal Groudon Raids, and the latter Primal Kyogre. For the first time since Pokémon GO launched, players will finally get to encounter the Primal versions of these legendary Pokémon.

Along with access to Primal Reversion, the event will also showcase one of the most popular forms of Pokémon across its many games: shiny variants. These color-changed versions of Pokémon are coveted most by collectors for how rarely they spawn in the wild.

The two teams to choose from: Ruby or Sapphire.

During GO Tour Hoenn, players also have the chance to encounter other exclusive Pokémon. That includes the legendary Eon Pokémon Latios and Latias, the ever elusive Kecleon (which can also be shiny) and several species of Pokémon with shiny chances across different habitats: Nincada and Bagon in the Blistering Sands Habitat, along with Absol and Beldum in the Eerie Mists Habitat. You can even nab a costumed Pikachu wearing Brendan and May's hats from the Sapphire and Ruby games.

The event will also feature new music from Junichi Masuda, The Pokémon Company's Chief Creative Fellow and programmer whose ties to the franchise reach back to its very first games.

It's an addition that Humberto Kam, Niantic's Director of Global Live Events, hopes resonates most with fans.

The GO Tour will introduce new stickers as well. Niantic hide caption

The GO Tour will introduce new stickers as well.

"We're totally nerding out about that, because as people walk in [to the event], I want people to hear those horns from Hoenn...it was a great place to draw inspiration from, not only for the nostalgia but also to put a different spin on things." Kam said the experience is also an attempt to bridge the gap between fans old and new to the world of Pokémon GO .

Kam shared that destination appeal is a significant metric for in-person events as players may want to participate in activities outside of the game. "As much as we love Pokémon GO , if I was going to the event, my wife might want to have something else to do," he added laughing.

"We did Kanto and Johto years prior, so this was next on the list but given that it's Hoenn, we knew we had to do it right," Kam said about the impact of Ruby and Sapphire and the plans for this year's GO Tour.

Familiar faces

Bringing Hoenn's iconic legends to the event was an ode to a generation beloved by players across the Pokémon community. "When we started talking about GO Tour for this year, we just went Primals, right? We're going to add Primals?'" Kam said about the planning stages. From very early on they wanted to do something special and it felt like a "no-brainer" to add the feature.

Throughout the history of the franchise, Groudon and Kyogre have been staples in the anime, in viral memes , and on teams that have had massive success in the video game format tournaments of Pokémon's competitive scene .

The two, along with the legendary dragon Rayquaza, make up what fans have coined "the weather trio" — a trifecta of elemental barons who hold dominion over their respective ecosystems.

Groudon, as its earthy name suggests, reigns over the lithosphere, while the water Pokémon Kyogre rules the hydrosphere. In Pokémon lore, both creatures remain locked in an ancient rivalry, causing the earth's surface to split and its oceans to swell.

In the main series of games, Groudon and Kyogre serve as the cover art for Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire versions, respectively. Together, the games are listed as the eighth best-selling titles in the franchise's history.

The Go Tour: Hoenn Global event brings three new research quests to Pokémon Go - one of which has already been released.

The quest in question is Masterwork Research: Wish Granted , which is also the only paid content connected to the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event.

It takes you on another Jirachi themed adventure and grants you the chance to add a shiny Jirachi to your collection. Since it’s a Masterwork Research quest though, the challenges it presents will take you far longer to complete than your regular special research quest. So, if you’re up for the challenge, be prepared for it to take a while…

The Masterwork Research: Wish Granted quest will be available for purchase in the in-game Pokémon Go store until Monday 20th March and we have instructions on how to buy it at the bottom of this guide.

go tour pokemon go

Chasing Legends is the second special research quest and every Pokémon Go player can enjoy it for free.

This quest will see you reuniting with Rhi of the GO Ultra Recon Squad to investigate the Hoenn folklore surrounding the Red and Blue Orbs. These items appear to have a connection to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon who happen to be causing trouble in the world of Pokémon Go during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event.

To unlock this quest you need to both play Pokémon Go during event hours - 10am to 6pm (local time) on Saturday 25th February and Sunday 26th February - and have completed the Primal Rumblings quest, so you can pick between the Ruby and Sapphire teams .

Progressing through this quest will give you the chance to earn Primal Energy for either Groudon or Kyogre depending on which team you selected - Ruby or Sapphire. You'll also be asked to choose between Cacnea, Gulpin or Surskit; your choice determines which one will appear more frequently when you use Incense throughout the event, along with some of the rewards and challenges in the quest.

go tour pokemon go

The final research quest you can partake in is the Ruby or Sapphire: Photo Safari .

As the name suggests, which version of the quest you receive depends on the team you picked - Ruby or Sapphire. If you haven't selected a team yet, it's a good idea to know the Ruby and Sapphire version differences .

The quest itself tasks you with hunting down either Latias in the Sapphire version or Latios in the Ruby version - both of which will be appearing in the wild depending on which team you picked. After that, much like the legendary dog Photo Safari during the Go Tour: Johto event, you simply need to take a photo of the legendary to earn and additional encounter with them.

There’s a host of features for you to enjoy during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event in Pokémon Go - both free-to-play and paid.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the features on offer, which we cover in more detail after the lists:

  • Masterwork: Research Wish Granted - grants you the opportunity to catch a shiny Jirachi

Free-to-play:

  • Chasing Legends special research quest
  • Ruby or Sapphire: Photo Safari (Dependant on choice between Ruby and Sapphire)
  • Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre appearing in Primal Raids
  • Ruby vs Sapphire Challenge

Pay-to-play Go Tour Hoenn Global features

go tour pokemon go

Unlike past Go Tour events in Pokémon Go, there is only one activity you need to pay for during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event - the Masterwork Research: Wish Granted quest.

Purchasing this research quest will allow you to add a shiny Jirachi to your Pokémon collection. The quest itself costs £4.99, $4.99 or the equivalent price for your local region. It is nonrefundable and can not be purchased using PokéCoin.

Masterwork Research: Wish Granted will be available for purchase until Monday 20th March 2023 from the in-game store and we’ve outlined how to buy it at the bottom of this page.

If you do decide to buy the quest, it will be available immediately after purchase and, thanks to its lack of deadline, you can complete it at your own pace. It will, however, take you some time since Masterwork Research quests are designed to be long!

Free-to-play Go Tour Hoenn Global features

Aside from the one piece of pay-to-play content above, there’s a host of activities and features available to players for free during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event.

This includes the Ruby vs Sapphire Challenge , which asks trainers to pick a team and then complete a special Field Research task every hour. Depending on which team wins, two bonuses inspired by said team will occur in the next hour, such as an increased number of Primal Raids for a certain Pokémon.

Your choice in team also decides whether you can encounter either Latias or Latios in the wild and which Photo Safari quest you have access to.

Pokémon Go Hoenn Tour.

Rotating habitats also return! When one of these four habitats takes the stage a selection of Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Each habitat has its own Global Collection Challenge which you have until 6pm (local time) on Sunday 26th February to complete. If you’d like to learn which Pokémon these are, along with the Pokémon included in the Global Collection Challenges, then visit the section below.

By using Incense, excluding Daily Adventure Incense, throughout these habitat hours, you'll also increase your chances of encountering Unown E, H, N and O.

During these habitat hours, you’ll also encounter two new costume Pikachus who’s designs are inspired by the protagonists of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire - a Pikachu wearing Brendan’s hat and a Pikachu wearing May’s bow.

The following Pokémon are also having their shiny forms released as part of the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event:

go tour pokemon go

This means all of the Gen 3 shiny Pokémon forms are now available in Pokémon Go!

There’s also the Chasing Legends special research quest to keep you busy while hunting Pokémon, which will be available to all players. Since Nianitc has described Chasing Legends as a special research quest, it most likely won’t have a deadline leaving you free to complete it whenever you like. We, however, highly recommend completing it during the Go Tour: Hoenn event, because this will make some of the challenges easier to complete.

To unlock this quest, you must first complete the Primal Rumblings special research quest and select a team - Ruby or Sapphire . You also need to play Pokémon Go during the Go Tour: Hoenn event to ensure you have access to Chasing Legends.

Storyline-wise, Chasing Legends will see you investigating the Red and Blue Orbs alongside Rhi and uncovering their connection to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.

go tour pokemon go

On the subject of Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event sees their world-wide release after their introduction during the Las Vegas version of the event.

Both Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will be appearing in Primal Raids throughout both days of the event - Saturday 25th February and Sunday 26th February. Defeating these legendary variants will reward you with Primal Energy , which, just like Mega Energy with Mega Evolutions, will allow you to transform a regular Kyogre or Groudon into their Primal form.

Primal Kyorge and Primal Groudon are incredibly powerful Pokémon, but these forms can only be maintained for a short period of time so use your Primal Energy wisely!

Alongside Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, the following Pokémon will be appearing in raids :

Any egg you collect during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event will also keep to the egg pools listed below:

We highly recommend searching out those 10km eggs, because Torkoal, Tropius and Relicanth are all regionally exclusive . Relicanth can be especially hard for trainers to find outside of events due to it only appearing in New Zealand and the islands surrounding this country, such as Fiji and Samoa.

You can also use the Regice, Regirock and Registeel codes to unlock timed research quests, which, when completed, will give you encounters with these three legendary Pokémon!

There’s also a range of new avatar items in the in-game store for you to purchase, including tracksuits inspired by Groudon and Kyogre, a Kecleon Bag and clothes inspired by the playable characters from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Don’t forget about the special Go Tour: Hoenn stickers !

go tour pokemon go

Finally, in keeping with tradition, there will be a selection of new music , inspired by Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, composed by Junichi Masuda playing throughout the event.

The World of Wonders season has come to Pokémon Go, which has brought the World of Wonders quest. The Bug Out event is currently running. Don't forget to try out Routes , Gift Exchange and Party Play while you're hunting down rare Pokémon , fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases .

There are four habitats during the Go Tour: Hoenn Global event - Blistering Sands, Eerie Mists, Verdant Earth and Ancient Shores. Throughout these habitats a selection of Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild and each has its own Global Collection Challenge, which is available to all players.

The habitats follow a local time schedule, which means that, no matter where you live, the Go Tour: Hoenn event will start with the Blistering Sands habitat at 10am. The habitats will then rotate every hour throughout the two event days - Saturday 25th February and Sunday 26th February. Each habitat will appear four times across the event, which means, each one will be available for a total of four hours.

This grants you ample time to catch the Pokémon spawning more frequently in the wild during these habitat hours and, below, these habitat hour Pokémon listed:

Don't forget - by using regular Incense, you'll increase your chances of encountering Unown E, H, N and O.

Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global Prep Guide

February 19, 2024

Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global Prep Guide

Get a head start on this sensational sinnoh-themed event with some thoughtful planning and strategy..

P okémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global is just around the corner, taking place on February 24 and 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time . There’s a lot going on during this two-day celebration of all things Pokémon Diamond , Pokémon Pearl , Sinnoh, and Hisui, so a little planning will go a long way to help you maximize your GO Tour experience. From making decisions about which path you will take to preparing for raids against incredibly powerful Pokémon, there’s plenty you can do before the event to help your experience be as successful and enjoyable as possible.

Sort Out Your Storage

go tour pokemon go

If all goes well, you’ll catch a lot of Pokémon during this event. The last thing you want to do is stop in the middle of the fun to transfer Pokémon to Professor Willow because your Pokémon storage is full. Taking the time to transfer Pokémon now will save time and stress later, especially with the risk of accidentally transferring a Pokémon you meant to keep because you’re in a hurry.

This applies to item storage as well. While you’ll need lots of Poké Balls, Revives, Potions, Incubators, and more over the course of the event, you’ll also be acquiring new items by completing research tasks and participating in raids. That means you’ll need to be thoughtful about what you keep and what you discard. These are decisions you probably don’t want to be making while getting ready for your next Origin Forme Dialga raid, so clean your item storage now to save yourself stress later.

Choose Your Partner

go tour pokemon go

The exclusive Special Research story featuring Team GO Rocket requires you to choose between Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup. You’ll have the chance to make multiple decisions for this event, so choose early and wisely. Fortunately, there are no bad choices—all three are all adorable first partner Pokémon! But this is a good opportunity to assess whether you could most benefit from an agile Fire-type Pokémon, a proud Water-type Pokémon, or a sturdy Grass-type Pokémon.

Hit the Road

Make the most of your preparations by hopping on the Road to Sinnoh, an event taking place from February 19 at 10:00 a.m. to February 23, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. local time . All Trainers will be able to take advantage of a 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance bonus, Timed Research that awards encounters with Heatran, Origin Forme Giratina, Cresselia, and Darkrai, and more. Starting during this event, Trainers can also purchase one or both of the following paid research tickets for US$5.00 each (or the equivalent in your local currency)—the bonuses included in both tickets will last through the global event taking place that weekend!

The Road to Sinnoh: Raids ticket provides access to event-exclusive Timed Research, which includes rewards such as 10 Dialga Candy, 10 Palkia Candy, 5 Heatran Candy XL, 5 Giratina Candy XL, 5 Cresselia Candy XL, 5 Darkrai Candy XL, and an Eevee Mask for your avatar. Ticket holders will also receive an additional 5,000 XP for completing raids, 1 additional Candy for catching Pokémon in raids, and 2 additional Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms each day. If you’re working toward powering up certain Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, this could certainly be helpful as every Candy and Candy XL adds up.

Road to Sinnoh: Hatch gives Trainers the opportunity to earn Timed Research rewards that include encounters with Pachirisu, Chatot, and Carnivine, and a Pikachu Mask for your avatar. The ticket also includes event bonuses such as double Hatch XP, double Hatch Candy, and double Hatch Stardust!

Even if you don’t purchase a ticket, you can make the most of daily five-star raids featuring the following Raid Bosses: Darkrai (February 19); Cresselia (February 20); Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf (February 21); Heatran (February 22); and Origin Forme Giratina (February 23). Several of these powerful Pokémon appear frequently in the GO Battle League—Cresselia is a contender in the Ultra League and Origin Forme Giratina is found both in the Ultra League and Master League—making this an excellent opportunity to stock up Candy and Candy XL to power up your Pokémon.

Make Time and Space for Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia

go tour pokemon go

Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia will make their Pokémon GO debuts during this year’s GO Tour events. This is undoubtedly an exciting opportunity to capture extremely powerful Pokémon, and Trainers will likely want to participate in as many raids as possible. It’s a great use of your time and resources to power up a dozen or so Pokémon to challenge Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia before the event kicks off—while you only start each raid with six Pokémon in your battle party, having extra Pokémon waiting in the wings will ensure that you don’t have to stop to revive your Pokémon before diving into another raid. Stocking up on Revives, Max Revives, and Potions will help your Pokémon to quickly recover between raids.

Take Time for Trades

A Special Trade allows Trainers to swap Pokémon that can’t be traded normally—including Pokémon and Pokémon forms not currently registered to your Pokédex, Legendary Pokémon, and Shiny Pokémon—and you’ll have the opportunity to make up to six of these Special Trades each day during the event. Even with the increased limit, it may be a good idea to coordinate your Special Trades ahead of time considering how much there will be to do during the day. Trades made during the event will only cost half the usual Stardust, but it’s still a good idea to make sure you’ll have plenty for this event.

Stock Up on Useful Items

go tour pokemon go

Different Pokémon will be attracted to Incense at different points in the day, and you’ll want to catch as many different species of Pokémon as possible. Start collecting Incense now so you won’t run out! You’ll probably also want to make sure you have plenty of Poké Balls so you don’t run out during the event.

Gather Star Pieces and Lucky Eggs to maximize the Stardust and XP you gain by catching Pokémon and participating in raids.

Eggs placed in Incubators during the event will only require half of the normal Hatch Distance, so make sure to have Incubators at the ready!

Start Strategizing

Research tasks often involve evolving Pokémon, so hold onto some Pokémon that you know you want to evolve until the event. Consider adding a tag so you can easily find (and evolve) these Pokémon when the time comes, and make sure you have all the items and Candy you’ll need to evolve them.

Practice your Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws. Research tasks often challenge you to make these types of throws in succession, so you’ll want to be in good throwing form when the event begins.

Powering up Pokémon is another common research task. You can create a tag for Pokémon that you’d like to power up so you can complete any such tasks quickly and efficiently.

Take Care of Yourself

There’s a lot to do during Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global, and you don’t want to play hungry or dehydrated! If you want to maximize your event time, you can prepare all the meals, drinks, and snacks you could possibly need ahead of time. If you’re planning on spending time outside during the event, don’t forget your sunscreen. And don’t forget to take occasional scheduled breaks. It might be hard to step away from the action for even a few minutes, but you’ll probably enjoy yourself more if you do!

GO Battle League Pokémon to Look Out For

go tour pokemon go

During this GO Tour, you’ll mainly be catching Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region. While you’ll want to catch as many different species of Pokémon as possible, there are some that may prove particularly helpful on your quest to master the GO Battle League. If you’re interested in adding any of these Pokémon to your GO Battle League lineup, try to catch a lot of them to collect the Candy you’ll need to power them up and teach them a second Charged Attack.

Pokémon you may encounter that perform well in the Great League include Lickitung, Umbreon, Bastiodon, and Toxicroak. These Pokémon—or the Pokémon that evolve into them—will appear in various habitats over the course of the event, so be sure to check the habitat schedules for the Pokémon you’re most interested in catching. While some of these Pokémon don’t require too much work to get into fighting shape, Lickitung requires a lot of Candy XL to approach the 1,500 CP cap, so you can certainly get a lot of mileage out of this event just by catching and powering up Lickitung.

In the Ultra League, Umbreon, Empoleon, and Toxicroak are all excellent Pokémon with a strong track record of performing well. Given that some of these Pokémon are also viable in Great League, you’ll want to make sure you maximize your Candy collection if you plan to power up one for each league.

As for the Master League, Dialga tends to dominate since it’s a rare Dragon-type Pokémon that isn’t vulnerable to Fairy-type attacks. With the Master League’s lack of CP limit, it’s definitely useful to bring Pokémon with the highest possible CP, so it’s well worth the time and effort to participate in Dialga raids and use either Pinap Berries or Silver Pinap Berries when the time comes to catch Dialga. Palkia is slightly less dominant than Dialga, but it’s still extremely useful—especially with the rise of Groudon armed with its Precipice Blades attack. Like Dialga, Palkia boasts an extremely high max CP, which can make it a challenge to fully power up. Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh – Global is a blessing for Trainers hunting for the necessary Palkia Candy and Palkia Candy XL to max out this Pokémon.

Check out the official Niantic Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh blog for additional information about the event.

Enjoy making the most of your GO Tour experience, Trainers!

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Full content guide, event schedule, and ticketing

Image of Cale Michael

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh is heading to Los Angeles in February before opening its Diamond and Pearl -centric content up to players globally. This means you have several sets of dates, times, and event content to keep up with—including what Pokémon, research, and more are included for both iterations.

A lot of content from Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles will carry over to the global version when it runs, but there are likely going to be some key exclusions like available research and event bonuses. Certain things like the new Masterwork Research will also cost extra for players in the global event, but there is a clear reason for that. If you do plan on participating in either version of Go Tour: Sinnoh, here is a full content guide and event schedule for both, updated as Niantic provides more information.

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles: Start times, dates, event bonuses, and ticket details

A Pokemon trainer getting spooked by Ghost-type Pokemon like Yamask and Spiritomb.

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles will run on Feb. 17 and 18 with portions of the event being held at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena and the surrounding areas. Depending on your ticket and add-ons, you might have more content to participate in.

Niantic has listed the event portion featured in the Rose Bowl Stadium as running from 9am to 5pm local time, though there is other content going on outside of that too—especially if you purchase the “City-wide Gameplay” ticket add-on. Some specific content might be locked to select hours within the event, but Niantic will specify that information closer to the event.

We do have a full list of event bonuses that will be active during the entire event, however.

  • Halved Egg Hatch distance
  • Halved Stardust cost for trades
  • Up to six Special Trades during your ticketed day “no matter where you are in Los Angeles”
  • Up to nine daily free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs

All Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles ticket options

  • Early Bird: $25 (through Dec. 31)
  • Regular: $30 (starting Jan. 1)
  • Egg-thusiast: $15 for additional content and bonuses surrounding Eggs
  • Raid Lover: $15 for additional content and bonuses surrounding Raids
  • City-wide Gameplay: $20 for additional content in surrounding areas and bonus event features added for Friday, Feb. 16.

Along with all the tickets and add-ons, a special event-exclusive shirt is also going to be available for $27 pre-sale leading up to the event.

All content featured in Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Los Angeles

Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit in Pokemon Go

During the in-person event, Go Tour: Sinnoh attendees will have increased odds of encountering Shiny Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region . This applies to wild encounters, Egg hatches, and raids. Habitat Rotations will be featured again with four different habitats swapping out throughout the event and featuring unique encounters like new costumed Pikachu and the Sinnoh Starters. Uxie, Azelf, and Mespirit will be appearing as Snapshot encounters too.

A new set of Spiritomb Research will be live during the event, making the Forbidden Pokémon available outside of Halloween-themed content for the first time. This Timed Research will have players trying to spin 10 out of 108 special PokéStops scattered around Los Angeles and Orange County . Go Tour: Sinnoh will also release this year’s Masterwork Research which features a guaranteed encounter with a Shiny Shaymin.

When you first begin participating in Go Tour you will have to pick between a Diamond or Pearl badge. Your selection will determine a few pieces of content such as a handful of encounters, rewards, and bonuses that are only available depending on which badge you pick . This will also carry over to the global event if you plan to get involved with that too, so pick wisely.

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global: Start times, dates, event bonuses, and ticket details

Shaymin perching on a tree stump.

Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global will run one week after the Los Angeles event, going live for all players from Feb. 24 to 25. Content will be available for a set period of time each day, though Niantic has not provided those details yet.

None of the content featured directly as part of the Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global event requires you to purchase a ticket. The one exception is the Masterwork Research featuring Shiny Shaymin, which will cost $5 as a stand-alone piece of content with no expiration date if you did not attend the event in Los Angeles. Some of the event bonuses will also be included.

  • Up to six Special Trades per day

All content featured in Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global

Niantic has not specified what content will be directly carried over to Go Tour: Sinnoh – Global outside of the ticketed Masterwork Research and split Diamond and Pearl badges . We can assume that the Habitat Rotations, Legendary Snapshots, and increased Shiny odds will carry over but we will need confirmation before locking that down.

This article will be updated as more information about Go Tour: Sinnoh is released.

All Ditto Disguises In Pokémon GO (March 2024)

W ith the arrival of a new month comes the need to check what disguises Ditto likes to use in Pokémon GO . Ditto is an infamously difficult Pokémon to catch, as unlike every other Pokémon, it does not appear as itself on the map. Instead, it takes the form of a different Pokémon and only reveals itself after capture.

Ditto maintains a list of disguises that undergo various changes as time passes. Sometimes, the list replaces one Pokémon with a new disguise, while other months completely overhaul the preexisting list. As such, if you have yet to catch this purple Pokémon, you will need an updated list to find it.

Pokmon GO: Every Pokmon You Can't Trade (& Why)

All pokémon that could secretly be ditto (march 2024).

Niantic, the company behind Pokémon GO , loves to update Ditto's disguises to match the year's changes. However, the current list of Ditto disguises in Pokémon GO has not changed from the options available in February 2024. This means Ditto can disguise itself as one of eleven different Pokémon spread across seven generations.

When it comes to catching a Shiny Ditto in Pokémon GO , don't expect any visibly Shiny Pokémon to secretly be a Ditto. If a Pokémon is a Shiny variant, it cannot be a Ditto . Shiny Dittos appear in the same disguises as regular Dittos. Each Pokémon disguises listed above has a one in 64 chance of being a Shiny Ditto.

If you're overwhelmed by all the possible disguises, try focusing on catching Oddish and Goldeen . These Pokémon are ubiquitous sights, making them a prime target for Ditto farming.

Some older players may already have a Shiny Ditto from completing the Kanto Tour Pass in February 2021. However, you will have to grind for this rare Pokémon the traditional way. While Ditto may not be a great asset in combat, it is still a badge of honor to have a Ditto in your collection in Pokémon GO .

With summer fast approaching, we don’t have long to wait until Pokémon Go Fest 2024, during which Necrozma is teased to make an appearance.

Necrozoma was first introduced in Gen VII, and acted as the mascot for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS.

We also now know where the in-person events will be taking place, so you can start checking what inconvenient airport you’ll need to travel to to get your mega discount flights.

It’s not just Necrozma who’s making an appearance, either, as other fan favourites from generations past will be introduced to Pokémon Go as part of the event.

There’s plenty to be getting through, though, so read on to find out everything you need to know ahead of the global Pokémon bonanza!

Will Necrozma feature in Pokémon Go Fest 2024?

Yes, Necrozma is expected to feature in Pokémon Go Fest 2024 as part of raids.

This was teased during the 2024 Solar Eclipse, when the Pokémon Go X (formerly Twitter) account shared a video showing the shadow of Necrozoma superimposed on a pedestrian crossing.

The official announcement followed, and you’ll be able to battle Necrozma in 5-Star Raids.

Necrozma has multiple forms, but it’s unclear whether any of their variations will be available in Pokémon Go.

What else do we know about Pokémon Go Fest 2024?

During Pokémon Go Fest 2024, there will be four unique habitats which rotate every hour - and this is available to all trainers, regardless of whether they have a ticket or not.

These are Dawn Meadow, Shining Day, Creeping Dusk and Darkest Night.

If you’re a ticket holder, you may be able to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow – but only once! Marshadow can become available through Special Research, too.

Jangmo-o will also make their shiny debut, should you be so lucky!

There’s also Pokémon Go Fest 2024 merchandise to commemorate the event.
