Wilkinson is the stage name of Mark Wilkinson, a British drum and bass DJ, recording artist and music producer from London, UK.

Starting out playing the guitar before trading it in for a sequencer, Wilkinson’s drum and bass beginning came on December 13, 2010 when he released his debut single “Moonwalker / Samurai” through the revered Andy C.’s RAM Records on the compilation album “Nightlife 5”. Wilkinson’s follow-up split single “Every Time / Overdose” featuring vocals from Marcus Greff was the 99th single released of RAM Records and first of Wilkinson’s to have a music video.

2012 brought a handful of single releases included “Need to Know / Direction”, “Take You Higher / Crunch” and “Heartbeat” featuring P Money and Arlissa. The singles - along with the additional “Afterglow” which represented Wilkinson’s biggest commercial success, peaking at No. 8 in the UK Singles Chart - were all taken from his debut studio album entitled “Lazers Not Included”. The album was released October 28, 2012 and peaked at No. 46 in the UK Albums Chart. The same year Wilkinson won the award for Best Breakthrough Producer at the U.K.'s National D&B Awards 2012.

Wilkinson has worked with a handful of artists since this album release including Katy B, Wretch 32, Angel Haze and Knytro. A deluxe version of his debut “Lazers Not Included 2.0” was intended for an August 2014 release. However, this plan was scrapped to allow work on his sophomore studio album.

The DJ and music producer subsequently released the single titled “Dirty Love”, which was premiered on BBC 1Xtra and features vocals from Talay Riley.

Live reviews

Wilkinson is one of the very few artists that I've been lucky enough to see locally, at his set in Exeter's student club, The Lemon Grove. Arriving later on in the night, when the club had filled up with eager fans, Wilkinson made an entrance and immediately began setting the place in motion.

Known for the hit single 'Afterglow', he started the performance with some of his lesser known tracks like 'Moonwalker' and 'Need To Know', before launching into the more popular songs to really get the crowd going. His music has a powerful bass, and is nearly impossible not to sing along to once you've heard it a few times - the vocalists on the tracks are always incredibly talented, and the lyrics are catchy and vibrant. He himself is an interesting character on stage, focused heavily on producing his best work, but constantly smiling and checking to make sure he's having the impact he hopes. The performance is always excellent, and the effect on the audience is a surefire good time, a fantastic rhythm to dance to, and the almost immediate need to go home and find more of his songs on YouTube. A truly strong DJ and producer, both on his own and in collaboration with people like Angel Haze or Katy B.

They were absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was perfect. The 2 support acts were also good. Nothing could've been better! I think the music was perfect and the fact drum and bass can be played live is just even better. Every single sound was made live which is perfect. I was able to dance and enjoy my self. The venue was also good.

The warm-up set was dire, then things picked up when the second DJ came on, and Wilkinson the man himself was fucking mind-blowing. Great light show and effects so respect to the guys doing that.

Loved the show specially liked the smoke and lasers !

Guest appearance by Wretch 32 for the new tune was big and of course the finale of Afterglow brought the house down .

Joe Wilkinson is an acoustic singer songwriter/loop pedal artist with an inimitable style of slapping, tugging and pulling at his six string and thoughtful songs about alienation, hedonism and poverty that read like a diary from his constant gigging across Europe. Originally from Bournemouth, Joe now lives primarily in Berlin and has played more than two hundred shows in the last two years in the UK, Germany and Spain. He has amassed over 23,000 likes on Facebook along the way.

Joe's debut single 'Freedom Or This', was released on the 14th of October 2016, with a video produced and directed by award winning Berlin based film maker Robert Grant. Shot in Berlin, the film shows a man confronting his drug problem in the shape of a crow who haunts him. The single was championed by BBC Introducing and featured on local station BBC Radio solent as well as gaining national radio play from both BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. The single was also selected for BBC Introducing special 'The Sound of 2017'. His second single 'Injustice' is on the way at the end of January. Joe Wilkinson brings fresh air to the acoustic singer/songwriter party with his brooding, melancholy storytelling and big hooks.

Would be 5 stars if the venue had good sound quality

The Belasco would literally be the best venue in LA if they fixed their sounds system. Wilkinson was great but the sound was so bad the whole night, you could only hear about 50% of the music, there was no bass/ no lows. It was a night of Drum n Drum instead of drum n bass ;(

Hard Summer Traffic Ruined It

I wasn't even able to attend the event. The DJs started before the festival even closed and then leaving the festival took an hour just to get outside the venue. No Ubers were available so I missed the entire show. Waste of $50 and I'm super disappointed because I was so looking forward to it.

Joe Wilkinson began his comedy career in 2004 and has supported Stephen Merchant, Alan Carr and Russell Howard on tour, earning him critical acclaim and taking him on to become an award winning comedian and comedy actor. Joe's lo-fi delivery, knowingly shabby stage presence and hilarious self-depreciating material have made him one of the funniest stand-ups of the new generation. Joe plays the lonely, socially awkward neighbour Dan in Him & Her and has also written and starred in his own radio show Mash on BBC Radio 2 (series 1) and BBC Radio 4 (series 2). He has won the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year and appeared as a panellist on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock the Week and has also become a regular in the 8 Out of 10 Cats spin-off show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown as the assistant of Rachel Riley in the second half of the show. He has also appeared on Russell Howard's Good News, The Rob Brydon Show and Miranda. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 Joe Wilkinson took his own sketch show up to the Festival ‘Two Episodes of Mash' with Diane Morgan. The pair received great reviews and praise for the shows. Then in 2011, Joe took his first solo stand up show, My Mum is Called Stella and My Dad is Called Brian, to the Edinburgh Festival and then later on a national tour ending in December 2011.

T he Rolling Stones recently revealed that blues-rocker Gary Clark Jr. will be opening for them at the first show of their impending 2024 tour this Sunday, April 28, at NRG Stadium in Houston. Now, the British rock legends have announced the acts that will be supporting them at nearly every other concert on the 19-date trek.

Among the artists joining Clark on the list of 2024 opening acts are country stars Lainey Wilson and Tyler Childers, acclaimed blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, veteran soul singer Bettye Lavette, husband-and-wife Americana duo The War and Treaty, alt-rockers The Pretty Reckless, jam band Widespread Panic, teen female punk group The Linda Lindas, and rock ‘n’ blues act Ghost Hounds, and Icelandic blues-rockers KALEO.

Ghost Hounds, who supported The Stones at several other concerts in recent years, will open for them at three shows on the 2024 trek—on June 7 in Atlanta, June 15 in Cleveland, July 5 in Vancouver, Canada.

A support act has yet to be confirmed for only one show on the tour, a May 23 concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Wilson will be performing with The Stones on June 30 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Details About The Rolling Stones’ 2024 Tour

As previously reported, The Rolling Stones will be supporting their 2023 studio album Hackney Diamonds , on the upcoming tour. Fans can expect to hear the band playing plenty of its classic hits, some fan-favorite deep cuts, and selections from the new album.

More About the Tour

The Stones’ 2024 North American tour features a total of 19 concerts, and is plotted out through a July 17 performance in Santa Clara, California.

The tour will include a May 2 concert at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The band also will play multiple shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey; Soldier Field in Chicago; and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Tickets for The Rolling Stones’ concerts are available now via various outlets, including StubHub .

Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.
