‘Bachelor in Paradise’ alums Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon welcome their second child

Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon have expanded their family.

The Bachelor Nation alums on Monday welcomed their second child together, they confirmed to People and on Instagram .

“Say hello to Hayden Cruise Haibon. He was born at 2:29 p.m. on July 22, 2024, and weighed 8 lbs., 7 oz. at INOVA Fairfax Hospital,” Iaconetti and Haibon told the outlet.

“Baby is healthy and so is Mama! Seeing Dawson meet his little brother for the first time was as precious as we always imagined the moment would be. Dawson is full of love and kept petting Hayden,” they added.

Iaconetti and Haibon met in 2015 on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” but did not officially begin dating until May 2018. They announced their engagement within weeks of making their relationship public and tied the knot in 2019.

The couple went on to welcome their first son, Dawson, in 2022. At the time, Haibon said that the labor “couldn’t have gone much smoother.”

“He’s so sweet & beautiful and has been sleeping all day. Unlike his Mom and Dad who are on no sleep right now but it’s totally worth it!” he wrote on Instagram .

Both from families of four, Iaconetti and Haibon knew they wanted Dawson to have a sibling, they told People earlier this year.

“I think we’re obviously a little nervous about how to juggle two,” Iaconetti said in May , adding that having their first child together was a “significant lifestyle change.”

“But I think we’re just curious and anxious to see how it is to keep two people alive,” she said.

“Finding a boy name we both love was much harder the second time around,” Haibon told the outlet on Tuesday. In the end, they drew from Iaconetti’s teenage crush on Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker and their shared admiration for Tom Cruise.

“We bonded over being Tom Cruise fans while first meeting on ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’” Haibon said. “We’ve always loved the passion, determination, and charisma of his characters.”

Haibon added that the couple met Cruise at the 2023 premiere of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” and that Cruise’s “warmth and caring reception for the stories we shared with him further convinced us to use the name.”

According to Iaconetti’s Instagram story Tuesday, she has returned home from the hospital and promised to “tell the whole birth story soon.” She also shared side-by-side photos of both of her newborn sons.

“Bachelor in Paradise” did not air in 2024, but ABC has renewed the show for a 10th season that will premiere in 2025, following Jenn Tran’s season of “The Bachelorette” and the debut season of “The Golden Bachelorette.” Season 29 of “The Bachelor” is also expected to air in early 2025.

'Your paradise, our nightmare': Thousands attend anti-tourism protest in Majorca

Tourism generates roughly 45% of the Spanish island's GDP, but locals are calling for limits to be imposed.

Some 10,000 people took to the streets of Majorca in the latest protest against mass tourism there.

Locals carried banners that read: "Your paradise, our nightmare" and "Tourism yes - but not this much" as they marched in Palma de Majorca on Sunday.

An anti-tourism movement has swept the Canary and Balearic Islands - as well as Barcelona - in recent months, with locals claiming housing is in short supply and prices are being pushed up due to the sheer number of visitors.

Majorca receives around 14 million foreign visitors a year.

There are fewer than a million full-time residents on the island.

Pere Joan Femenia, of Menys Turisme, Mas Vida (Less Tourism, More Life), which organised Sunday's protest said: "Mass tourism is making it difficult for local people who cannot afford to live on their own island because tourist flats push up prices.

"Tourists fill up beaches and put a strain on public services in the summer.

"We want to cut mass tourism and to ban non-residents from buying houses which are just used for a few months a year or for speculation."

Similar rallies took place in Majorca and Menorca in June - and in April.

In Ibiza and Majorca, fines have been introduced for people caught drinking in the street as a way to disincentivize people from visiting.

Mapping the Park Fire: California's largest wildfire is burning over 70,0000 acres a day

The Park Fire is this year's largest wildfire in California - and it's been burning for less than two days. In that time, it's torched over 160,000 acres . The record-breaking fire burned 71,000 acres in less than 24 hours.

CalFire has issued evacuation orders and warnings across Butte and Tehama counties, some reaching Chico city limits. No fatalities have been reported. The fire, currently only 3 percent contained, is reported to be the result of arson.

Some communities are in immediate danger said Rick Carhart, public information officer with CalFire and the Butte County Fire Department. “Cohasset and Forest Ranch are under evacuation orders now, so the structures in those areas are in immediate threat and we're hopeful that everybody has heeded the evacuation orders.”

The blaze started at approximately 4 p.m. local time Wednesday near Upper Park Road in Upper Bidwell Park, east of Chico.

How big is the Park Fire?

According to CalFire this is the largest blaze in the state this year , currently at 164,286 acres and only three percent contained as of 10 a.m. ET Friday. 2024's second largest fire is the Lake Fire near Santa Barbara which has burned at least 38,000 acres but is now 90 percent contained.

After weeks with temperatures in triple-digits the fire grew rapidly. “In well less than 12 hours the fire grew to 45,000 acres,” said Carhart. “Our first units at scene reported 4 to 5 acres. Next, we heard it was 50 and then all of a sudden it was 500, 6,400 acres and then I believe 4 hours after that it was 45,000.”

In addition to unfavorable firefighting weather conditions — gusty winds and low humidity, this area has not had a fire in a number of years, said Carhart.

A 2019 analysis of wildfire hazard potential by The Arizona Republic and the USA TODAY Network showed that communities in the vicinity of this fire faced particular dangers in a wildfire scenario. Cohasset, for example is well above the median for evacuation constraint , meaning limited routes out of a community can lead to mass congestion during evacuation. According to Carhart of CalFire, “These two areas of Butte County are areas that we have been looking at for a while as being pretty threatening as far as having a big wildfire because there's essentially no fire history in the area so there's nothing in the past for a number of years that has burned off the undergrowth and the brush has just been growing which fuels fires making them much more dangerous."

How did the Park Fire start?

A California man has been charged with arson after prosecutors say he started the fire. Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey said bystanders caught the man pushing a flaming car into a gully before it dropped into an embankment and burned.

First-responders are focused on evacuations and defensive measures including lines of containment utilizing bulldozers, fire crews and fire engines, according to CalFire. Additional personnel and resources, including air tankers are inbound from various areas across the state. It remains unclear how many structures have burned.

Carhart says there are an estimated 1,100 people working the fire.

How to watch and stream the 2024 Paris Olympics — on TV and online

There are plenty of exciting moments in store at the 2024 Paris Olympics , which officially kick off July 26. 

For the first time in the history of the Summer Games, this year’s Olympic opening ceremony will not take place in a stadium; instead, athletes will travel in a boat parade down the Seine River, passing by some of Paris’ most iconic landmarks.

It’s a bold start to what will no doubt be an equally thrilling few weeks of competition — whether it’s watching NBA legend Stephen Curry make his Olympic debut, or Simone Biles going for her eighth Olympic medal . 

This year also marks the introduction of a new Olympic sport, breaking , and a new event called kayak cross , which will make its debut during canoe slalom. Surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing, which debuted at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, will also return.

Here’s what you need to know about how to watch the Paris Olympics on TV and streaming services.

When do the Olympics start?

The opening ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off at 7:30 p.m. in Paris on July 26. (A few preliminary events will also take place July 24 and 25.) Paris is six hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time, meaning the opening ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

A preview of the ceremony will also air at 12 p.m. EDT on NBC, and "an enhanced encore" will run during prime-time at 7:30 p.m. EDT the same day, according to NBC Olympics .

These shows will also be available to stream on Peacock and NBCOlympics.com .

NBC Olympics encourages viewers looking to watch on TV to view the full listings on their schedule page , "by clicking the toggle at the top to 'TV Only.'"

How can I watch the Olympics?

NBC, Peacock and Telemundo will offer live coverage of the opening ceremony July 26, and the ceremony will also be shown live at more than 150 IMAX theaters around the country.

As home to the Olympics, NBC will air three hours of nightly prime-time coverage, called "Primetime in Paris," featuring highlights from the Games. The show will also stream on Peacock.

NBC and Peacock will also offer at least nine hours of daytime coverage of the Games every day, including live finals coverage of fan-favorite sports like swimming and gymnastics.

Every event at the Paris Olympics will also stream live on Peacock. This option requires either a Peacock Premium or Premium Plus plan. Viewers can watch live feeds from events or tune into Peacock’s "Gold Zone," a live whip-around program airing daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.

A new feature called Peacock Discovery Multiview will give viewers the ability to stream up to four simultaneous events on one screen, with the option to toggle audio feeds.

The streaming platform will also offer a new interactive tool called Peacock Live Actions that lets fans tailor their viewing journeys during live and prime-time coverage and keep up with events they are most interested in, according to Peacock .

It’s also possible to watch the Olympics on any smart TV streaming platform that has the Peacock and NBC apps, including Android TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Fire TV and Roku. The apps are also available on Samsung and Vizio TVs and Xbox.

When do the Olympics end?

The closing ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. Paris time on Aug. 11, or 2 p.m. EDT. The ceremony will take place in the Stade de France, which "will be transformed into a gigantic concert hall," according to a press release . There will also be prime-time coverage of the event on NBC and Peacock at 7 p.m. EDT.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
