Overall rating

One of many restaurants in Porto's port, this one won't disappoint. We were heartily welcomed by a gallang waiter. The drinks weren't very cheap, but the menus' prices vary between 20,5 and 24,5 euros. The dishes themselves are again Corsican sized: absolutely huge. The food wasn't spectacular, but good quality for the price you pay.

Great food, perfect service. We had the 3 course menu for 24€ which was excellent! The waiters were very professional. We'll be back!

We had a leisurely meal here in Porto after our boat trip to the Calaches was cancelled. My wife chose the spinach cannelloni with white local cheese. I had the three course menu with excellent fish soup , feuillite de Dorade, and Isles Flotant. The latter was slightly disappointing.....I have had better in Cannes and Nice. Service was very good and friendly.

Friendly staff, good service and well situated. My wife had lasagne and i had the burger, and both were very good. In fact i don't think i have had a better burger anywhere. Prices were more reasonable than some in a very expensive town and pleased we ate here.

Nice location.. Excellent service thanks to the waiter Chris who could speak fluently English and was very pleasant. We took two menus.. Appetizer were OK and main dish was very nice. Great vegetables and well cooked and tasty octopus. We asked for liquor instead of the dessert and this was not allowed. Shame.. Considering that few people were sitting at the restaurant. This can be definitely improved.

Not our first time, but we were impressed once again. Friendly staff and delicious food. The choices on offer are diverse and also is vegetarian friendly.

We had a very pleasant diner the first time and decided to go back for another meal without regret! The fish soup was delicious and so was the main corse, feuillitė de dorade. The waitress Sabine was very chearfull and enthousiastic. We had a great time!!! A pity that we are leaving tomorrow.

Went there after a day on the boat. Very friendly staff. We asked to be moved as someone near us was smoking and they were very accommodating Can highly recommend

Obviously, the lunch in this restaurant is included in the package for bus day-trips, as there was a large and very noisy group of tourists on the terrace. We managed to find place on the other side, which was also crowded. The place looked really popular. The service was not particularly enthusiastic or friendly. I had an impression, that for the staff it is just a tedious and routine work. This would have been forgotten, if the food would have been at least slightly above the average. Alas, the cesar salad was dry and tasteless, whereas the salade du berger had too much vinegar in it. The dishes were not completely ruined, but, for sure, no delight from the food...

As they say, when you find a good restaurant in a place like Porto, you'll probably go back again !! We are thinking that !

We were a little apprehensive about the restaurant reviews in Porto, many go back to 2015, and seemed to have a theme of "hit and miss" in Porto restaurants. We spent some time as we walked the streets carefully looking options. Liked the look of this restaurant, and decided to give it a try. We were delighted with our meal, you must go for the local fish (Sea Bream or Bass). The fresh fish combined with local wine was most enjoyable. My wife and I had lunch at this restuarant yesterday. We had fish after talking to a couple sitting at the table next to us. The woman had just finished her fish and spoke English well enough to convince us the fish was good. Thanks to her we also enjoyed ours.

After looking at the menus of almost all of the restaurants in the area, we finally settled on this one. It's right on the main walk through the village, near the citadel. We were seated right away and the service was great. We took the brocciu cannelloni and the souris d'agneau, with tiramisu for dessert. A great meal!

Delicious Tuna with sesame seeds for a reasonable price €17. Attentive service, good choice of Corsican wine (pricing OK), great choice of salads and starters. We've visited this place 9 years ago and we would come again. Thank you for the experience!

The restaurant was full so we decided to give it a try. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was fresh. My Corsican beef and olives on noodles was only average; my husband's roasted leg of lamb was good..

The restaurant sits well with a delightful terrace. a young and polite waitress welcomes me and makes me sit down. As a starter I order a very good Corsican assortment. As a first I order some linguine with pesto. The pasta was overcooked and lightly... seasoned I would call it dull, I knew I didn't eat pasta in Italy but I expected the Genoese origin of the premises to guarantee a good pesto, I was wrong. As Main course I take tuna that after a few forkfuls I have to leave because of the bad taste. Tourist restaurant, not recommended. More

There were a few people here when we turned up. Waiter spoke a little english. My wife had been wanting to try the fish soup and this was on the set menu. We both had the soup which was very strong in taste but nice.... I had cannelloni and Mrs had fish pie. Both were decent. Choc mouse and a custard meringue finished the food. No complaints. 50cl of rose and a bottle of water came to 65 euros. Set menu was 21 each. No idea where the toilets are as the Mrs asked and still couldn't find them. Nice location. More

We had a 19 euro set menu which offered good value for money. The portions were huge. The food was however average. Not bad, but average. Ok service, but nice location. Seems like the restuarant is of the more popular in Porto as it had... quite a few guests even off season (early June). Other restaurants had no guests at all. Not sure if this indicates good quality or if it was a coincidence. More

We can with a party of 8. We ordered spaghetti bolognese, hamburgers, lasagna and calamari. The hamburgers were by far the best. Meat cooked to medium perfection with bacon and cheese. The side of fries were perfectly crispy. The Lasagna was also excellent - thick... layers with savoury meat sauce. The spaghetti was so-so. The sauce could have been more savoury. The calamari was very salty and although the stew it was in was nice it was overpowering. The waiter we had spoke very good English. The owner was also very friendly. We arrive at 18:30 so service was fast. Location is very nice, tucked away above the street. Cosy. Highly recommend. More

Friendly staff, good service and well situated. My wife had lasagne and i had the burger, and both were very good. In fact i don't think i have had a better burger anywhere. Prices were more reasonable than some in a very expensive town and pleased we ate here.

Dopo varie esperienze tutt'altro che esaltanti in Corsica, finalmente un cambio di direzione. Ho apprezzato moltissimo una tartare di tonno, con pompelmo rosa, kiwi, mango, ananas e melograno: un connubio di sapori di mare e frutta; poi la "classica" calamarata, un briciolo piccante ma deliziosa.... Spinta dalle recensioni più recenti ho deciso di fermarmi a cena in questo ristorante. Che dire… ci siamo trovati benissimo, dall’accoglienza al servizio ma soprattutto alla cucina! E sappiamo per un italiano all’estero quanto sia difficile trovare un posto dove effettivamente si mangia bene senza... spendere inutilmente. Risotto con il pescato del giorno abbondante (ci si mangiava in 2) e strepitoso. Stinco di maiale alla Pietra e con glassa al miele che si tagliava con un grissino da quanto era morbido. Non parliamo dei dolci.. abbiamo provato il crumble di mele..delizioso! Peccato che ci siamo fermati a Porto solo una sera, perché sarebbe stato interessante provare anche altri piatti! Prezzi dei vini locali onesti, a differenza di altri ristoranti in Corsica dove per una bottiglia di bianco sono minimo 40€ e mi pare un po’ esagerato! Che dire, grazie al proprietario (che ci ha anche offerto il mirto finale prodotto da lui) e a tutto lo staff per la stupenda esperienza! Provatelo perché ne uscirete veramente soddisfatti! Un locale purtroppo scoperto l’ultimo giorno di permanenza a Porto . Location ben curata , cibo ottimo e di qualità,staff gentile e preparato , titolare simpatico e Gemma la chef bravissima simpatica e con la quale abbiamo intrattenuto un dopo cena meraviglioso . Consigliatissimo

Premettendo che le esperienze in Corsica non sono state tutte eccellenti, questa merita tutte le cinque stelle. Il personale è disponibile e attento, la location bella con ampio terrazzo sulla strada principale di collegamento al porto. Abbiamo preso un hamburger corso (molto buono!) ma soprattutto... un jarret di porcu cotto a bassa temperatura e marinato con la birra Pietra e il miele … una meraviglia, il piatto più gustoso mangiato in Corsica fino ad ora!!! Con due bicchieri di vino e due mirto, per concludere in bellezza la serata, abbiamo pagato 61€, al di sotto della media dei ristoranti corsi. Uno dei pochi ristoranti in Corsica dove abbiamo mangiato bene, ottima qualità e anche quantità e con buonissimo rapporto qualità prezzo! Servizio perfetto, Staff cordiale e proprietario molto ospitale e gentile! Straconsigliato!

Son tornato dopo un anno in questo ristorante vista mare e con mia grande sorpresa ho trovato una nuova gestione inaspettata. Capitati in questo posto poiché i prezzi sembravano leggermente più accessibili rispetto agli standard di porto-Marina. Siamo rimasti pienamente soddisfatti con una steak di tonno ed un hamburger:entrambi i piatti buoni e accompagnati da abbondanti contorni. Molto cara la birra, ma da queste parti è... così. Personale gentile anche se a volte pare sbeffeggiarti. Un aneddoto: mentre mi mostravo piacevolmente colpito dal bel piatto propostomi, che comprendeva il filetto di tonno appena scottato al sesamo, più un po’ di riso, una mini ratatuille, un non meglio identificato tortino ed un altro paio di contorni, un bambino di una tavola accanto palesemente di origine bretone poiché sembrava asterix, mi ha chiesto cosa avevo ordinato, dandomi del monsieur (salvo poi optare per le classiche cozze). Anche l hamburger della mia consorte era buono, abbondante ed accompagnato da vari contorni ed un particolare pane nero. Con 20 euro a testa si cena bene ed abbondantemente: consigliato. Altro

Posto molto grazioso, nel centro del piccolo paesino di Porto Ota. Mangiato molto bene soute di cozze e tartare di tonno. Tutto molto fresco, ben impiattato e abbondante. Servizio curato. La giovane cameriera è stata molto attenta e cordiale. Consiglio vivamente.

Un ristorante che merita questo aggettivo.. tutto perfetto.. dal servizio al conto.. al cibo perfetto voto 10+

Heerlijk gegeten. Vis van de dag. Lekker groente erbij. Ingelegd in het zuur. Vriendelijke bediening die uit zichzelf Engels spraken.

Middageten met groepsrondreis 34 p . Vriendelijke bediening ( meisje alleen) Eten was goed , niks speciaals aan te merken.

We kwamen hier aan en werden eerst naar een andere tafel verplaatst, weinig subtiel. Daarna bestelden we ons eten en vroegen we of we alvast wat brood vooraf konden krijgen: nee, dit zou geserveerd worden bij het hoofdgerecht. Beetje bijzonder, want de bak met brood... stond naast hem; hij kon toch ook alvast wat broodjes brengen? Daarna kregen we allebei de lasagne. Voor een restaurant prima; zelf maak je hem eigenlijk altijd lekkerder - vers. Huiswijn was lekker. Uiteindelijk met een goed gevulde buik voor weinig geld weggegaan. Meer

Ondanks de voor ons ietwat matige ambiance (fel licht, eenvoudig meubilair, eenvoudig interieur), hebben we hier smakelijk gegeten (diner). Mocht het zo komen, dan zou ik hier nogmaals gaan eten.

Onderaan de gelijknamige toren zit dit favoriete restaurant van ons. Uit de zeer ruime kaart kozen we een Italiaans menu bestaande uit salade caprese (hier calabraise genoemd), cannelloni en chocolademousse. Alles top verzorgd en voor 45€ per 2 personen incl wijn is dat in Porto... zeker niet duur. Het terras zat ondanks de frisse avond dan ook helemaal vol. Meer

Burger van de chef was zeer lekker, wel met brocciu kaas (zeer uitgesproken smaak en overheerst). Vriendin had salade met zalmtartare die zeer lekker was. Aanrader.

We hebben hier heerlijk gedineerd. De salade du Berger heerlijk. De spaghetti forestiere top van smaak een aanrader 👍🔝🏆🍷🍾😀

Eind mei 2016 hebben we gedineerd bij La Tour Genoise, waar wij werden geholpen door een heel vriendelijk, engels sprekend, meisje. Specialiteit was Dorade (zeebrasem) en Loup (zeebaars). Werd mooi opgediend met rijst en groenten.

“Good restaurant” Review of Restaurant La Tour Genoise

In the Porto Marina, this restaurant has a convenient menu at 20 euros (we found similar menus in all corsican restaurants including 2 courses and dessert). We tried a 'soupe de legumes', a dish of charcuterie corse, 'ravioli au brocciu' and a delicious dish made with squid, peppers, tomato and herbs. Reasonable quality/price ratio, wine expensive, (as everywhere in Corsica).
