about

Land of the 'The Jungle Book'

Kipling borrowed heavily from Robert Armitage Strendale's books 'Seonee', 'Mammalia of India and Ceylon' and 'Denizens of the Jungle' for the topography, wildlife, and its ways. Mowgli was inspired by Sir William Henry Sleeman's pamphlet, 'An Account of Wolves Nurturing Children in Their Dens' which describes a wolf-boy captured in Seoni district near the village of Sant Baori in 1831. Many of The Jungle Book's locations are actual locations in Seoni District, like the Waingunga river with its gorge where Sherkhan was killed, Kanhiwara villlage and the 'Seeonee hills'.

Satpura national park : nature's wonders are waiting for you.

  • DESCRIPTION

Satpura is a Sanskrit phrase that means "seven mountains" (Sapta means seven, and Pura means mountain). The Satpura range used to be highly forested, but it has been gradually deforested in recent decades, with large stands of forest remaining. Several at-risk and endangered animals, including the Tiger, call these woodland enclaves home.

Satpura National Park is among the landscape's most well-preserved regions for flora and fauna protection. Satpura National Park covers 1427 square kilometers and was established in 1981 by combining the sanctuaries of Satpura, Pachmarhi, and Bori. Its altitude ranges from 300 to 1,352 meters.

The national park's landscape is exceedingly mountainous, with deep valleys, sandstone peaks, tight gorges, rivulets, and waterfalls, as well as densely dense green forests of Sal and other medicinal herbs and extensive areas of Teak woods. Spotted Deer, Indian Bison (Gaur), Tigers, Leopards, Wild boar, Wild dog (locally known as Dholes), Sloth bear, Blackbuck (special attraction), Porcupine, Sambhar, Four Horned antelopes (Chowsingha), Otters, Crocodiles, Malabar squirrels, Langurs, and other creatures are among the diversity.

Satpura National Park offers jeep safaris and canoeing, as well as a great array of species. Nevertheless, owing to the complexity of spotting tigers here, it remains one of Central India's least visited reserves. Satpura Tiger Reserve is home to 52 mammal species, 31 reptile species, and 300 bird species, 14 of which are endangered. Arboreal species such as the Flying Squirrel, Indian Giant squirrels, and Leaf-nosed bats call STR home. Also found here are Eurasian Otter and Smooth-coated Otter.

Satpura National Park Tour Packages

Satpura Tiger Reserve is a wildlife empyrean that captures the greatest of nature's grandeur. The park, which is located in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad region, offers tourists an unrivaled opportunity to explore the lush woodlands and ravines that are wonderfully complemented by solitude. Satpura has the ability to attract any nature fanatic and wildlife admirer due to its beautiful scenery and unusual flora and animals. Aside from the car, elephant, and canoe safaris, the national park offers a walking safari, which allows visitors to explore the area on foot.

The program brings visitors to Satpura National Park for wildlife and bird-watching activities. The trek begins in Bhopal, and the tourist must then proceed to Satpura's Madhai Range. The tourist can then choose between a Canoe Safari, an Elephant Safari, or a Walking Safari within the park. The excursion brings the traveler close to the Satpura wilderness in a pleasant and satisfying way.

Safari Zone & Entry Gate

Satpura madhai forest safari charges / price / cost, best time to visit satpura madhai national park.

Isn't it true that you're trying to figure out when the best time is to go to Satpura National Park? So, to prevent having your holiday spoilt by the weather, these are the ideal normal seasons to visit and enjoy. Satpura National Park is open to visitors from mid-October to the end of June, with the best chances of seeing animals in the last few months of the season.

Summer season (March, April, May, June )

The hotter months are noted for their high temperatures, which can be difficult for most people, especially if they are going on a walking safari. April, on the other hand, is a great compromise. Despite the heat, the park continues to attract a large number of animal admirers.

Winter season (November, December, January, February)

Because of the mild noon temperatures, Satpura National Park is best visited in the winter, but it can still be very chilly first thing in the morning and at night, necessitating layers of clothes, including one with an overcoat.

Monsoon season (July, August, September)

Monsoon receiving a significant quantity of rainfall in the region, makes it unfavorable to visit Satpura National Park. Additionally, the park remains closed until mid-October as it is quite a popular season for animal matings.

Satpura Tiger Safari Timing

The timings at Satpura National Park changes with the seasons. However, it's important to note that the park is closed to visitors during the monsoon season because it's wild animal breeding season.

Satpura National Park has a morning and evening safari schedule that is distinct for both states and is set by the park's higher authorities.

Summers and winters have different time windows, but sunset and sunrise are also important in the safari itinerary. According to a basic rule, the park opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes 30 minutes before sunset. Furthermore, the management changes the schedule to suit any VIP visits.

Here is the Satpura tiger safari timing schedule for the safari:

1. Morning Safari Schedule: 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM with an extended till 12:30 PM

2. Full-Day Safari Schedule: 6:30 AM  to 5:00 PM

3. Evening Safari Schedule: 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM

4. Elephant Safari Schedule: 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Satpura Safari Zones

There are three types of zones in Satpura Tiger Reserve: Core, Buffer, and Reserved. The jungle's core zone is a protected area. It serves as a clearinghouse for information on the natural condition of the ecosystems represented by biosphere reserves. The forest department is dedicated to safeguarding wildlife and natural resources. Animals and a small fraction of human life coexist harmoniously in the buffer zone. Finally, a conserved forest serves as a virtual forest boundary. Animals, on the other hand, have no concept of a "zone." They are allowed to traverse the entire forest because it is their habitat.

When it pertains to the Satpura Tiger Reserve's tourist gates, there are a maximum of five. Panaarpani Gate (Pachmarhi), Madhai, and Bheemkund Gate (Churna) are the most popular of these entrances.

Satpura Gypsy Booking

To explore the jungle, open safari jeeps are used, just like in any other Madhya Pradesh national park. A total of 08 people are allowed to sit in any safari vehicle, with one guide and one driver required to accompany the guest during the park safari or wildlife drive. It means that 06 tourists can sit together in a single car. Unlike any other Madhya Pradesh national park, the Satpura National Park authorities own and manage the safari vehicles.

It means that, unlike Kanha, Bandhavgarh, and Pench National Parks, there would be no changes in safari vehicle standard/design here. Despite the fact that luxury resorts have donated vehicles to the forest department, they receive the same donated vehicle with their resort branding on the safari. Except during festivals and new-year weekends, there will be no trouble or struggle in obtaining Satpura Gypsy Booking tickets because it is not a popular wildlife location.

Hotels & Resorts at Satpura National Park

When you make Satpura Tiger Reserve your next vacation destination, you'll be able to enjoy a luxurious stay in the woods. A variety of resorts and motels are located around the park in Satpura. You can choose your lodge in Satpura National Park based on your Satpura National Park Zone.

A traveler's mind is loaded with numerous thoughts when arranging a trip to Satpura, one of which is where to reside. When it comes to the number of hotels and resorts scattered across Satpura, the list will astound tourists. With a variety of superb services and amenities, these resorts and hotels are wonderful places to recharge after a busy day and make the most of your vacation.

There are three forest rest houses in Pachmarhi, two at Churna, and one at Madhai, all with double bedrooms. Reservations for these rooms can be obtained via the Satpura Tiger Reserve office or from the Satpura National Park Permit Booking Website. Bookings are accepted during business hours (10:30-17:30). However, the right of reservation remains with the Field Director, Satpura Tiger Reserve.

Flora & Fauna at Satpura National Park

The forest of the Satpura mountains, located south of the river Narmada, is rich in biodiversity and home to many endangered species. Satpura Tiger Reserve was designated as Madhya Pradesh's first biosphere reserve in 1999, in recognition of its uniqueness. Sal woods cover the Pachmarhi plateau's high elevations, while dense teak forests cover the plateau's lower hill ranges. There are 26 Himalayan species and 42 Nilgiri species to be found here. Satpura Tiger Reserve is also known as the northernmost point of the Western Ghats.

Nearly 14 endangered species call this area home, including the Giant Squirrel, Indian Skimmer, Black-bellied Tern, Leaf-nosed Bat, and others. The Malaba Pied Hornbill, Malabar Whistling Thrush, and Madhya Pradesh's state bird, the Paradise Flycatcher, are among the more than 300 bird species found here. Migratory birds such as Bar-headed Geese, Pintails, Spot-bills, and Spoon-bills, among others, can also be seen in huge flocks in the autumn. In the past, the Eurasian otter has also been spotted here.

TOP-11 Moscow Parks to Visit

I have chosen the best 11 Moscow parks to visit and spend a beautiful time for you. Do not miss and choose one that you like the most – cycling, festivals, flowers, panoramic views and many other things are waiting for you!

Gorky Park (The Central Park of Culture and Leisure) – The main one of the Moscow Parks

In my opinion this park could be called the main park of the city. Why? Because of its huge territory, the central location and the amount of people visiting the park daily.  It was founded in 1928 and in 2011 it was totally reconstructed. Now it pleases visitors with modern objects and soft green lawns.

  • Oktybrskaya or Park Kultuty metro station, Krimsky Val, 9

The Gorky park is a the right choice for everyone! The youth will like a free WiFi, bicycles, skateboards and other rentals; the couples will enjoy spending time near the river, watching a sunset; parents will appreciate colorful playgrounds and a room for mother and child. Everyone can find something for themselves: from yoga classes  to watching movies in a cozy summer cinema, from dance classes to volleyball playground. Gorky Park is also the venue for all kinds of exhibitions, festivals, events for children and adults. During the winter there is one of the biggest skating rinks in the park.

Museon Art Park – A Second Gorky they say

“Museon” is located on the opposite side of Krimsky Val street. And right now some people believe that Gorky and Museon together is a one space sharing the same beauty.

  • Oktybrskaya or Park Kultuty metro station, Krimsky Val, 2

The Park of Arts was named this way because there is the largest composition of open-air sculptures in Russia. In its territory there are already more than 1000 unique exhibits: from monuments of the socialist realism era to various kinds of contemporary art. But this is not all the attractions of the park. In recent years, “Museon” has become an important cultural site of the city. The park regularly hold many different concerts, festivals, educational projects in the field of art and design. There is a Central House of the Artist, a comfortable summer cinema and other attractions on territory. Be sure to stroll pedestrian Crimean embankment, which looks like a modern park.

Neskuchny Garden – True Russian Nature is Here

Neskuchny garden is located on the right bank of the Moscow River. Today it is also seen as a part of the Gorky Park. This landscape park is one of the oldest in the city and is protected by the state. Its name was received from the Neskuchnoye Estate of  Prince Trubetskoi which is still located in the park.

  • Leninsky Prospekt metro station, Leninsky Prospect, 30

This park is famous mostly for its location close to the Gorky park. It is a quite place with true nature, lots of trees and squirrels and also ancient architecture. As in every park, there are sports and playgrounds, cafes and even a football field.

Zaryadye Park – 5 Steps Away From The Red Square

The area of this brand new park was opened only in September 2017 and located in the very heart of Moscow – right near the Red Square.

  • Open from 10AM to 10PM
  • Teatralnaya, Okhotnyi ryad, Ploschad Revolutsii

The park has 4 zones, each of them represent different parts of Russian landscapes. Above the river there is a floating bridge from where you get to see one of the best panoramic views on Moscow. Other attractions of the park are 5D cinema where you can take a flight above Moscow, few cafes and restaurants, pretty lakes with fishes and old preserved churches. In addition there is still being built a  philharmonic hall, covered with a huge dome and an Ice cage where the temperature will always stay below zero degrees.

When you are on the Red Square do not miss it!

All-Russia Exhibition Center (VDNKh) – The Soviet Style Moscow Park

Park VDNKh – one of the most famous parks in Moscow. This park is one of the sights of the city as it hasn’t changed much since the Soviet era.

  • VDNKh metro station, Prospect Mira, 119

The symbol of VDNKh is a fountain with 16 women symbolizing the friendship of the nations of the USSR. Around this fountain there are all the pavilions representing 16 republics. Now inside the pavilions you find various shops, cafes and exhibitions. If you go deep inside the park you will find a rocket Vostok and and an aircraft. What is funny the inside of the aircraft there is actually a photo exhibition. Near the northern entrance you there is a famous sculpture “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman”. It is extremely famous among Russians as all the movies by Mosfilm corporation used to start with the picture of this statue. But if you go further inside the park you will reach a very calm area. A lake is there, forest and birds singing. Since the park occupies a large area I suggest you to rent a bicycle.

Sokolniki Park – A Place For A Hunt Or For Leisure?

The park got its name because of the royal falconry, which took place there in the past when there was a dense forest. (Sokol means a falcon.) In 2011 it was significantly transformed: updated lawns, landscaped ponds and picnic areas, restored summer cinema and theater, a large rose garden, sports grounds, bicycle paths and other things.

  • Sokolniki metro station, Sokolnichesky Val, 1, p. 1

From the main entrance along the alley you can walk to the Sokolniki circle, where 8 alleys form 9 sectors, in each of them you will find trees of the same breed.  The park is famous for its rosary, as well as flower decoration. On the territory of the park there are concert halls, a library, amusement zone, dances zone and many many other attractions. In winter the park has a skating rink (a free of charge one) and ski runs. During the warm season you can rent a bicycle.

Tsaritsino Park – A Different World Inside Moscow

Here you can walk for hours, admiring the most beautiful nature and magnificent architecture.

  • Open from 6AM to 12AM
  • Tsaritsyno metro station, Dolsky, 1

The most amazing part of the park is the lake with a light and musical fountain. Every evening the fountain starts the show. Lights and music combined make you feel like you are not in Moscow but in a fairy tale. The park is also well equipped for sports lovers and healthy lifestyle. There are volleyball and basketball courts, a tennis court, sports facilities for acrobatics, bodybuilding equipment.

What I personally like about this park is the atmosphere. This place is actually far from the city center but I love going there anyway. Whenever I go there I feel like I left Moscow with all its hectic lifestyle. It is the place where I relax, enjoy myself or a company of my friends and feel kind of different. By the way totally suggested for a date!

Kolomenskoye Park – Combination Of Reserve and Architecture

The Kolomenskoye park is actually a Museum-Reserve. It is a former residence of Russian tsars and one of the most scenic places in Moscow.

  • May to September – open from 8AM to 12AM, October to April – from 8AM to 9PM
  • Kolomenskoye metro station, Andropov Ave, 39

Alike with Tsaritsino park Kolomenskoye park has its own special atmosphere with all the architecture, trees, ponds and even a river bank. The park regularly hosts various folk festivals and different fairs. In summer time you can play with kites or rent a bicycle and ride around the huge area of the park.

I love the view that you get on the city from one of the hills near the river. I love the apple trees alleys and the beautiful churches. It is also a bit far from the city center but yet worth going there. One of my best friends even celebrated her wedding there.

Aptekarsky Garden or Botanical garden of the Moscow State University – The Best Botanical Garden in The World

Aptekar in Russian language means a pharmacist so basically it is a pharmacist’s garden. It was founded in 1706 by Peter The Great for growing medicinal plants for the royal family. But later they moved it from under the walls of the Kremlin to the current location.

  • Open from 10AM to 8PM
  • Prospect Mira metro station, Prospekt Mira, 26

In the botanical garden there are no attractions and noisy crowds of tourists. The area of the garden is not as big as any other park in Moscow. And the entrance is not free. But this exactly what makes this park one of the most comfortable in the city. In the Aptekarsky garden they grow thousands of different plants, flowers and trees. Some of the trees are more than 300 years old. They held different festivals there: flowers festivals, sand and ice sculptures expositions.

For me it is one of the most beautiful parks not only in Moscow but in the world. I have never seen so many different flowers and plants anywhere else. And trust me I am a real park lover. And what is more the staff really takes care about every single tree or plant there, some of the trees have names and stories. I love it there and I think the price is really worth what you get.

Victory Park – A Park That Makes Us Remember The War

The park is located on the Poklonnaya Hill and it has one of the world’s largest memorial complexes dedicated to the World War II. The park was opened for the 50th anniversary of the Victory on May 9, 1995. It is also one of the main venues in the city for holding a variety of mass events.

  • Park Pobedy metro station, Brothers Fonchenko, 7

On the main avenue of the park there are with 1418 fountains – exactly as long as the war lasted. Fountains make five water terraces, symbolizing five years of military operations. And in the center of the park there is the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. If you are interested in the history of the war do not miss it. The Poklonnaya Hill is a part of the park and from the hill you get one of the best views on the city of Moscow. And I could say this is the best place for watching the fireworks during the mass celebrations. But be aware it gets too crowded then. As in most of the other big parks you can rent a bicycle or rollers there.

Izmailovsky Park – A Mix of a Big Forest and Attractions

Izmaylovsky Park occupies a huge green territory, making up a large part of the Izmailovo district. The park consists of two parts: Izmaylovsky Park of Culture and Rest and the forest park of Izmailovo. First part is full of attractions and restaurants while the second one is like a real forest with pine trees, birch groves, beautiful clearings and ponds.

  • Izmaylovskaya, Shosse Entuziastov or Partizanskaya metro stations, Izmaylovsky Park

It is easy to spend there a whole day. A large landscaped area and a lot of various entertainments for children and adults will help you not to get bored. An observation wheel, a boat station, children’s playgrounds, a dance floor, sports grounds, a skate park – all this is only a small part of the possible leisure activities. In the park there are bike paths and a rental services.

I don’t go there often to be honest. But the park is very very close whenever to a souvenir market on Partizanskaya metro station. And whenever the weather is nice and I have enough of free time I stroll through the alleys of the park and enjoy the nature. So if you are going to the souvenir market too and you have enough free time then do go to the park too.

Dennis and Armando are expert survivalists. They never ceased to amaze me with their diverse skill sets whenever we’d go out looking for animal tracks, building shelters, or shooting arrows with their primitive bows. Hector, the owner of the agency, was extremely thorough in informing me of what the trek would entail. Truly a life changing experience. Read more Written November 25, 2023
  • A6049XZseanc 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles 15 Day Wildlife Search And Survival. This is the best group out there to truly experience the remote parts of the Amazon. Everything they do is real which was a requirement for me. Many of the other tour company's out there gave me tourist trap vibes. I was a solo traveler who was joining the 15 day wildlife Search and Survival training. There was a group of three people already signed up for the dates I was going, but they all canceled a week before the trip. With only me left on the trip I expected Amazon Explorer to cancel on me like many other tour company's have done when there is only one person booked for a tour. They instead worked out a discounted price which was very reasonable to me. A second traveler was then able to join in at the last minute. The tour was great! I expected that we would be roughing it for 15 days, but Amazon Explorer was still able to make things very comfortable. They were very flexible and always receptive to what me and the other traveler wanted to do. They learned we really wanted to see an Anaconda, and we did find one after some searching. I really only speak English, and they brought an English-Spanish translator for me at no extra cost. Despite our very remote location, there was no time where I ever felt unsafe. At the end of our trip, we got stuck for an extra day in Angamos which is a small town where we would take a little plane back to Iquitos. The weather took a turn for the worst and continued to look terrible. The flights out were constantly canceled. Our guides put a lot of effort into making us comfortable in Angamos while also trying to move mountains and get us on the next available plane. I definitely plan on going on another trip with Amazon Explorer in the future. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an adventure. When I try to explain my trip to coworkers, everyone's reaction is, "How do you even find a trip like this????" Honestly, the only reason I found them was through some hard digging on google. I'm glad I did find them though because there aren't any other tour groups out there like Amazon Explorer. Read more Written October 26, 2022
  • alejandraaE8779NB 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Definitely definitely recommend! Totally grateful to Hector Vezirian and his Amazon Explorer agency. It was a blessing to find such a professional agency. I went with my friend on a wildlife tracking expedition for 15 days. This trip is not your typical tourist trip and the truth is that I was pleased by the organization and professionalism of the explorer team, led by Hector, who accompanied us on this adventure. They are true wildlife experts; they could see, hear and smell the animals of the jungle, and it was shocking to see how keen they were at pointing out animals hidden in the shrubs or at far distances. We saw many species of monkeys (about 10), alligators, lots of birds, insects, river otter, 2 snakes (one poisonous), frogs, iguana, pink dolphins, two-toed sloth, tarantula, scorpion, ocelot, tapir, and we found many fresh footprints of jaguar (though we didn’t get to see it)! It was wonderful. I am really very grateful to the Amazon Explorer agency, to Hector and to his entire team of native explorers. I RECOMMEND IT! Read more Written June 11, 2022
  • talias674 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Incredible experience in the unexplored Amazonas My partner and I traveled through much of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, Ecuador and Colombia. We contacted Amazon Explorer to make a 30-day expedition to an unexplored place in the Peruvian jungle. Hector, the owner of the agency, attended us with kindness and professionalism found in few, he also promised to guide this expedition for us. This was a special expedition in an area where no tourists go. In my opinion, I have never enjoyed nature and wildlife so much, it was amazing! Given the conditions of this expedition, due to the unexplored terrain and the number of days (30) it was very well organized. We recognize the professionalism and knowledge of the jungle that Hector and Amazon Explorer team have, they were incredible. A great team. Read more Written June 3, 2022

We have just returned from an incredible 14 night trip in the Amazon Rain Forest with Amazon Explorer, which has easily been the highlight of an amazing trip to Peru. In the remote locations during our expedition, we saw a wide variety of wildlife, including many birds, monkeys, anaconda, caiman, and even an anteater. Thanks also to the native experts and especially to Hector who could track and find the animals deep in the jungle. The food was always plentiful, with 3 meals each day. They really went the extra mile and took care of our every need. Unforgettable trip - well worth the price! Read more Written May 30, 2022
  • C3827GTalexanderg 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Amazing experience The best company and guides with the greatest knowledge of wildlife, AN INCREDIBLE TRIP! We explore the Amazon jungle for 10 days with Amazon Explorer. We saw a quantity and variety of fauna, thanks to the experience and knowledge of Hector and Dennis. We went to a remote area, where we didn't see any tourists during our entire trip. The organization was excellent, considering the remoteness of the place where we were, the varied and delicious food, and the activities were amazing, both during the day and at night. Thanks to the knowledge of our guides, we were able to see many animals such as the tapir, the peccary and even an ocelot. At night we waited in silence in the clay licks deep in the jungle. We absolutely recommend this company. We wish to return in a few years for an adventure of more days. Thanks to the entire Amazon Explorer team! Read more Written May 22, 2022
  • 758cocol 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A memorable jungle experience! We went on a 5 day private camping expedition in Pacaya Samaria national reserve. The first night we slept in a cabin in the little jungle village of Buenos Aires, the other three nights we camped in the wildernis. For us, it was an adventurous, fun, safe and authentic Amazon experience!! Our team consisted of our guide Tito, local guide Lorenzo, cook Lourdes and captain Segundo. They were all very lovely and took great care of us. Tito en Lorenzo made sure we saw as many animals as possible. We saw an anteater, many monkeys, dolphins, a sloth, otters, crocodiles and much more. Lourdes’ food was very good and more than enough. Segundo took great care of the boat and for exploring, we took many boat rides on the canoe. We also did some short hikes, but due to the high river season most of the explorations were done by canoe. We went on exploration trips 3-4 times a day depending on whether we had to travel also. The first trip was before breakfast and started early (5:30-6:00), after breakfast followed a jungle trek, after lunch another canoe trip or trek and every night a night trek! The team always asked for our preferences, so the trip will be customised to your wishes and needs. The day after our trip Tito also took us to the Belen market and floating houses in Iquitos to show us around there, which was impressive and a must see to really understand Iquitos. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this trip with Amazon Explorer! Read more Written April 16, 2022

Not by boat, but in native canoes carved from tree trunks. A trip to the water's edge. After several days of searching, Dennis found the lair of a beautiful anaconda, hidden underground, in the vegetation. A great moment of exaltation to see this big snake waving in front of me. I also sailed on a survival raft made with 3 logs of trees, a great adventure in this impenetrable region of Peru on the border with Brazil. In addition a paradise of birds, fishes, monkeys, ... And to finish an amazing trek, supported of 50 km to join Requena, The organization of the expedition was impeccable, very good logistics for 20 days in complete autonomy, thank you Hector for all these emotions lived. Thanks to the community Matses, Armando, Dennis, Herman, Lidia for their assistance. I can only recommend "Amazon Explorer" to all enthusiasts of expeditions in the Amazon, off the beaten track, real nature in its raw state, the authentic Amazon! • Timothy A 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Amazing 4-day-adventure This must be the best tour we have ever had! Erman, the local guide, is an amazing guy, always in such a good mood. You just feel that he loves his job as a guide, sharing all his knowledge and showing you a part of this amazing jungle world. He spots animals everywhere where you would otherwise just walk past oblivious to them. He can immitate the sounds of loads of birds and other animals, so we got to see so many different animals that it is impossible to remember them all. We saw caimans, dolphins, otters, monkeys, spiders, sloths and all kinds of insects and got to try some coconut worms freshly picked out of a fruit :P Our tour guide, Rafael, did a great job of translating everything into English for us. He is also a fun guy to be with. They definitely make a good team and if you are thinking about going, we can recommend requesting the two of them. The food was also beautiful. We tried fishing once, which is really not hard in the Amazon, and the cook was so kind to prepare the piranha that we caught so we got to try that too. We loved it so much, would always do it again and can only recommend it to everyone! Us, one being terribly afraid of spiders and the other of being eaten by a crocodile enjoyed it that much that we would never want to have missed out on it. Everyone is really lovely and it was such a great experience! Read more Written December 7, 2019
