Duck tours - a staple in many states. This tour really does give a nice view of the city you're visiting. Our driver Ken and Duck Host Dancing Fred were an awesome team. Both complimented each others strengths and their comic routine is hilarious. My family and I had a great time. Dancing Fred is quite the entertainer. He's well versed in the history of Philly and intertwined with his jokes made the tour super fun. And he's not called "Dancing" Fred for nothing. We had music played throughout the 80 minute tour and each song went with the theme of his history notes. He had us dancing safely in our seats. We did the dab, chicken Dance, the moves to YMCA and others. He kept us on our feet with true facts about Philly and its people and at the same time ad - libbing not so true statements which we had to call him out on by saying "quack, quack, quack" three times or using the store bought duck lip quackers. (They sell "Duck" tour souvenirs at the ticket booth where you buy the tour tickets). The booth by the way, is conveniently located across from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall sites. I've tried a few duck tours in many states but this one gets an "A" for overall effort and tour sites visited. We were able to see a lot of the landmarks and sculptures that make the famous Philly "walking" tour less tiring since we're on a vehicle (that turns into a boat once we hit the water). The vehicle was able to manuver even the smaller streets. We saw the tourist sites, breezed through Chinatown, passed the famous Rocky scene steps, passing by the many well-known art pieces throughout the city, and even passing by Ben Franklin's burial site. We hit a few spots after the duck tour on foot, given there was so much to explore after seeing it the first time on the vehicle. The company even gives coupons to nearby establishments food/tourist attractions, and shopping when you purchase the tickets. I highly recommend this tour and if you can, get on the one with Dancing Fred. It's a fun way to explore and learn history especially with young ones.

Ride the Ducks is a touring amphibious bus in downtown Philadelphia, PA. We hopped aboard and were given a tour of Philadelphia and the Delaware River. The driver was funny and he gives you details of the landmarks that you drive past, which is always interesting. We learned some things we otherwise would not have on this tour. Then you literally drive into the river where you can see the piers (especially the one Will Smith bought for his dad) and ships on the river. The duck boat is a little jittery in the water, but it floated and we didn't drown, so I'm happy. The craft is a bus/boat and it has its own history. Recommend!

Our group of six decided that it was too hot to walk around Philly so we took the tour to cool off, while seeing the locations of different sites we wanted to visit later in the day. Tom was our driver and Vicky was our guide. They were both very entertaining! We enjoyed seeing the sites while she told us a few facts and jokes about them. The boat ride was different. Never been on a bus that transforms into a boat so that was cool. Too bad there was no ac during the whole ride. That would've made it perfect.

I'm sitting on this crap right now. It's something out of a nightmare. Hot exhaust fumes blowing at you in 90 degree weather and a tour guide straight out of a minstrel show. I wish he would stop yelling his superficial (first sentence of Wikipedia) knowledge of Philadelphia. It's clear that this tour guide has little wit or knowledge about the city, just an overblown enthusiasm that he tries to compensate with. I wish there was more depth to the tour. But I don't think this tour is catering to people who actually want to know about this wonderful city, but to those who want to be entertained in the most simplistic way possible and have the right to brag that they went on this boat. Such a waste of my time :(

This tour is hands down a 5 star review for anyone that rides the ducks. What a easy, stress free an fantastic way to see the historic sites of Philly. There is no way I would have had the chance to experience all I saw on this tour in 3 days. Combine it all into two hours, take a small ride onto the not so clean Delaware river and laugh your butt off with the hilarious commentary from the tour guide. First time riding the ducks but won't be my last when I visit other cities! Loved it!!!!!

I loved the duck tour. I learned a lot about this great city and I had a great time. I was on the Ben Quacklin (no joke, that was the name of my duck. I think it's the only one with a name. Awesome) and the captain is Captain Bruce. He. Is. Awesome. He's also hilarious. I'm not sure if I'd go with a bunch of adults again because you'll probably go nuts with all the kids going nuts on the duck quacking things. I would've been irritated if I wasn't making mine honk as if my life depended on it. If you have a high tolerance for noise, you don't get sea sick (we went into the Delaware river and rolled around a bit) and you want a quick tour of some of Philly's great historical sites, climb on aboard. Oh yes. Save your quacker because some of the shops on South Street will give you a discount if you have it. Btw, you'll drive past Jim's and I wanted to bribe Captain Bruce to pull over so that I could get a cheesesteak.

Absolutely one of the best days ever! I toured Philadelphia with 2 friends and my boyfriend to celebrate my girl friend's birthday. We arrived 15 minutes early and stood in line to climb on board. We were given quackers and told to sit wherever we could find room. Since we were some of the last to board, we sat in the last two rows. I would suggest doing this, it seemed that the first few rows got wet from the water splashing on the front of the boat. Our driver was hilarious! "Have I told you that joke already? ... Was it funny the first time? ... Didn't think so!" Our driver was a real treat. He made the tour a great experience. I was a little sad when things were over. I'd love to visit other cities and tour their streets and waters. I had a wonderful time and I think that everyone should Ride the Ducks!

Every summer my little daughter (who's now 5) and I "play tourist". Even though we live in Philly - we had never tried the duck boats - and she really wanted to. We reserved for a Wednesday tour at 4 PM. It lasted lust over 70 minutes and was GREAT fun. Our Captain (Crash) was funny and the tour woulda been great for a tourist or someone unfamiliar with Philly. There were tourists from Brazil, Arizona, Iowa and Florida on our boat. And since it was not packed we each got our own seat. Yes, it's pricey, kitschy, touristy and those quackers can me MOST irritating - but if you have little kids this is a fun way to show them the city. That said - my kid also loved the Double-Decker bus tour.

I had the Philadelphia pass and chose the 7 pm tour after carefully planning the days itinerary according to business hours. If you decide last minute to go on the duck tour, you can pick up your tickets from the boarding area instead of the visitor center. Rumplestiltskin was our tour guide. He was very enthusiastic and kept everyone joyful. It was a very relaxed tour, informative of all the sites. I did learn some interesting things here and there, like how will smith owns property by penns landing and if all 3 flags are out then that means will smith is visiting his dad, who lives in the warehouse converted apartment. You get quackers at the end of the tour. Tour was about 75 mins long. Worth it with my Philadelphia pass!

My sisters friends came to town with her anklebiters. I had not idea what to do with them. However, I think I liked the tour better than them! I learned a lot about the architecture that I never learned in my college classes! The quackers and music are a little cheesy. You do get to see some weird stuff floating in the delaware, but overall it was fun! Pricey...get the coupons at 30th stree station or anywhere they have those fliers.
