Private Doha Tour | Points of Interest & Landmarks

The shining jewel of Qatar is known worldwide for its rich cultural offer. Its emblematic and futuristic skyscrapers and the astonishing beauty of its beaches and desert.

Encircling the Doha Bay in a half-moon shape, The Corniche promenade extends for seven kilometers. Offering a walking path full of wonderful views over the water.

One of the most iconic views in this waterfront is the old Dhow Harbor.  It is a dreamed spot by the photographers, especially at dawn or sunset. At dawn time you can also sit by the harborside and watch the traditional wooden boats slip off to sea and the fishers returning with the catch of the day.

You will also enjoy the visit to The Pearl Island.  It is an artificial island that is considered one of the largest real-estate developments in the Middle East. The Pearl is divided into 12 districts, each of which has a distinct architectural style. Going from small apartments and townhouses to complete villas and skyscrapers in addition to the wonderful marina and the beauty of the calm beaches.

On the eastern coast between the Pearl and West Bay you will come across with Katara.  This is one of the largest multidimensional cultural projects of Qatar.

This village is awash with history and heritage. People come to experience the cultures of the world that includes a huge Greco-Roman amphitheatre, opera house, drama theater, concert halls, exhibition galleries and a large number of international restaurants.

This cultural beacon is the perfect spot for regional and international festivals, workshops and exhibitions. Following the cultural pathway, you will find the Qatar Museum of Islamic Art . Located on the southern end of Doha Bay and designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei the MIA hosts pieces from Muslim dynasties all over Asia, Africa and Europe. Witness early Islamic manuscripts, ceramics, glass, ivory, jewelry, miniatures, textiles, and many other works in this architectural gem.

• Another architectural masterpiece is the marvelous Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre , well known as Fanar Mosque is one of Qatar prominent landmarks. Built of brick and mortar this imponent mosque was the biggest in the country until 2011. From the Muslims to the world: The main aim is to present Muslim culture to all world through exhibitions, language courses and tours (non-Muslims entry allowed). If you visit on Friday, you will be pleased to listen to the Khutba (sermon) in English!
