We were the first in the team category in the Turkey Rafting championship which is held in Koprulu Canyon in 2001. Our transfers start between 07:30 - 09:30 according to distribution of the hotels. The transfers ends in 10:00 - 11:00 at the finish point of Antalya Rafting which has been in Koprulu Canyon National Park in Beskonak district of Antalya / Manavgat.

If your hair is long, you should tie it tightly. We recommend that you remove your gold and similar jewelry. In winter, a warm jacket can be rented (3 euros per person). Textile rafting shoes can be purchased (1 pair for 7 euros).

What to bring? To ensure you make the most of your white water rafting experience, consider packing the following essentials:

Rafting experience in Koprulu Canyon

We (me, wife, children 11, 13, 15) had a very nice day rafting in the Koprulu Canyon. Price is extremely low for what you get, expect to have to pay more for extras along the day, but nothing really to worry, it's already averything specified in the tour description. Prepare to wait some time for the bus, as it has to pick-up around 15 people and no matter what the driver and VigoTours try to do there are always participants which do not show up on time and lead to everybody losing time. If you reserve also a quad or Jeep safary you will have less time for rafting, as all the group returns to the pickup place at once. We enjoyed only rafting and it was quite demanding physically at the end, but we were in the boat with a very funny group of turkish colleagues and we really gave all our best to paddle, most of the time in the wrong direction :-) Also expect a lot waterfights with other teams and with the locals bathing along the river :-)) The river waters are crystal clear, and really cold. If you paddle enough you would wish to bath in them to cool down. Water shoes are required, you can get some really low-quality ones there (10€), or bring yours with you. Based on our experience even flip-flops or sport shoes can work, you may need them only in some occasions if you need to cross the river, which may have stone/pebbles floor. You may avoid to get your camera or phone, as they may get damaged in various ways, but if you wish get a small waterproof bag with you, to secure them in your life vest, which has no pockets. Food is ok, enough even for our hungry teenagers. Do not expect al-dente pasta. But who cares anyhow? All in all it was really, really fun, giving us a rest after a few days in the hot climate of Turkey south-east. I would suggest it for most of the people. If you wish an exclusive day then go somewhere else and pay for what you wish. Here you'll find an uncomplicated experience where the fun depends on you and on your wish to enjoy. Thanks VigoTour

Antalya Rafting Program

Antalya rafting tours provide pick-up from your hotel or apartment at around 9:00 am. You will be taken to the base and prepared for your rafting adventure along Köprülü Canyon national park.

You will be accompanied by a professional rafting guide and instructor at all times. and you will receive an initial safety briefing and safety equipment for your Antalya river rafting experience. There will also be swim and rest stops along the way.

You will stop around the middle of the Köprülü Canyon route to refuel with a light lunch break. Lunch will be served by the riverside, and you will have a chance to relax in the forest before setting off again.

Once the route is completed, and you are suitably (and happily) exhausted, you can congratulate yourself on this achievement of river rafting trip. You will then be returned to your original pick-up point.

Are there any restrictions?

Antalya rafting tours are not recommended for pregnant women. However, most adults, whether swimmers or non-swimmers, can navigate the waters as the difficulty level is classified as 1-2.

What do I get with my ticket?

Your ticket price includes pick-up and drop-off from your hotel or apartment in Antalya, as well as guiding service. Guides are proficient in English, Turkish, German and Russian, ensuring good communication at all times.

1. Rafting in Köprülü Canyon

Köprülü is the largest whitewater rafting center in Turkey. There are rafting excursions available from all resorts between Kemer and Alanya. Booking an excursions is possible online, with round trip transfers from your hotel.

These tours are offered all year round, even in the winter months. Depending on the provider, the rafting tours include rafting with an inflatable boat, a jeep safari, a photo stop at Eagles Canyon, zip-lining, or canyoning.

All the equipment you need for rafting is supplied by the provider. This includes, along with other things, your life jacket and helmet.

Normally, these rafts are designed for 4 - 12 people. These inflatable boats are made of very sturdy rubber and have several independent air chambers, so if one chamber is damaged, the boat will not sink. Even in the summer, the water is very cold and hardly gets warmer than a maximum of 12 degrees.

2. Rafting in Saklıkent Canyohn

Saklıkent National Park is divided between the Antalya province and the neighboring province of Muğla. Small scale rafting is available in Saklıkent. On this river, rafting is mostly done on floating tires, which is also called tubing.   The oversized tires are also known as "donuts" or "biscuits" because of their shape. Unlike rafting, where 4-12 people sit in an inflatable boat, each equipped with a stab paddle, with tubing you sit alone with a double paddle in a floating tire. Since the tires are smaller than the inflatables rafts, they spin more often and faster in the water. Tours are available from the Antalya province and from the Kaş region, usually in combination with a jeep safari to ancient ruins such as Xanthos , Patara , and  Patara beach with an optional mud bath near Saklıkent.

3. Rafting on the Alara River (Alanya)

The Alara River is about 70 kilometers long and flows into the Mediterranean Sea near the Okurcalar seaside resort. In the spring, the water in the river is high enough for rafting. Narrow canyons, sometimes large boulders, as well as some steep steps, which can only be passed by jumping into the water pools below, are on this rafting tour. Boats start at the upper part of the 50 m high Düden Waterfall end on the cliffs of Antalya, also called Karpuz Kaldıran, which is secured with metal grids. The 4-kilometer rafting course contains several switchbacks and narrow places.

At the end of this route especially, a professional guide's expert knowledge is needed, so that the boats can be stopped before the metal grids and brought to the shore.

In case this is your first time trying rafting, there is nothing to worry about! A team of professional instructors will let you know everything you want about this activity. The instructors will demonstrate the basics of rafting, and distribute the necessary safety equipment. Once ready you will then enter the boats in groups.

Rafting takes place on a 14km route and lasts for almost 2 hours. Since the very first moments, you will feel the cold water and feel your adrenaline levels increasing. The wild flow of the water will take you on an amazing experience like no other. When the instructor says so, you can jump into the river and swim.

By the end of the first part of this tour, you will have some time to enjoy an energising lunch at a nearby restaurant. Take advantage of this time to relax and revitalising your mind and body.

The second part of the day includes an ultra-exciting ATV safari. Once again, professional instructors will explain everything you need to know and provide safety equipment. For approximately 1 hour you will drive your ATV along a beautiful off-road route. During the ride, you will have the opportunity to observe the beauty of the surroundings. Did this with my parents last week! All I can say is wow wow wow! My parents were a bit nervous but the guys there made them feel comfortable with both of the activities. We did the rafting first. It wasn’t my first time, so I let myself enjoy every single moment. Equipment was brand new, and the river was incredible! Three rapids in total, not really difficult. The water was cold and we got excited immediately! The atv safari was also great. Driving on the mountains was phenomenal! We were competing each other and had a great time! To be honest, even though I was so tired afterwards, this combo tour was very special!
