Saga Announces its River Cruise Schedule for 2023

Saga has announced its river cruise schedule for 2023, which includes three new Rhine and Danube itineraries.

From 2023, both the Spirit of the Danube and Spirit of the Rhine will offer all-inclusive sailings, as well as a number of other booking incentives.

Passengers who book back-to-back cruises in 2023 will receive a 10% discount, and a 25% early booking discount is also available.

Before the deal expires, a number of cruises will be offered at a 25% discount, according to the line.

The itineraries Golden Age of Art on the Rhine, Autumn Colors of the Danube, and Art of the Danube have all been added to the schedule for next year.

The seven-night Golden Age of Art cruise on 8th May starts at £1,241, and includes excursions to galleries in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and The Hague.

The lead-in pricing for the Spirit of the Danube’s 10-night Autumn Colours of the Danube sailing on 11th November with stops in Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna is £1,574.

The Art of the Danube, which departs on October 27 and includes visits to Budapest’s Hungarian National Gallery and Bratislava’s City Gallery, costs £1,499.

Charlie Dimmock, a gardening specialist, will go on a seven-night voyage on the Spirit of the Rhine on April 17. Prices begin at £1,649.

A themed Gilbert and Sullivan cruise on the Rhine starts at £1,274 and includes live music performances.

A number of dedicated accommodations for single travelers will be available on each trip in the program. Single passengers should “book early to ensure them since they are always quite popular,” according to the line.

Nigel Blanks, the company’s CEO, stated: “We know our guests want an exceptional experience and real value for money so the river cruises will move to all-inclusive from 2023.

“We’re introducing back-to-back itineraries with 10% off and discounts starting from 25% off in response to their feedback.

“These are in addition to the complimentary chauffeur service, travel insurance and a range of included excursions we already offer.”

Saga has unveiled its 2023 river cruise programme featuring three new itineraries on the Rhine and Danube.

Spirit of the Danube and Spirit of the Rhine will both operate all-inclusive sailings from 2023, and the line has also announced a string of other booking benefits.

Passengers will receive a 10% discount when they book back-to-back 2023 cruises, while a 25% early booking reduction is also available.

A number of cruises will be available with a 25% discount before the offer expires, the line said.

Saga announces four new ships to join river cruise fleet

March, 23 2022: Saga has today announced a significant expansion of its river cruise business with four new ships to be added on four new rivers, capitalising on the growing popularity of river cruising.

The news, which was announced with Saga’s annual results, is part of the Group’s wider strategic growth plan. The four new ships will join Saga’s two existing river ships and be operated as part of the wider cruise business under CEO Nigel Blanks. This will enable Saga to deliver its luxury boutique cruising experience across both oceans and rivers.

Today’s announcement builds on the success of Saga’s two new river cruise ships, the Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube, which were jointly named in a ceremony in Arnhem last weekend, the 19 th March.

The four new ships will be called Spirit of the Moselle, Spirit of the Main Spirit of the Elbe and Spirit of the Rhône, and will operate across each river, with the first due to come into service in May 2023 with the others following each year there after

The new ships will build on Saga’s the boutique design philosophy, across rivers and ocean and will offer a luxury cruise experience for customers on Europe’s famous riverways.

Nigel Blanks, CEO of Saga Cruise, said:

“We are so excited about the opportunity to expand our fleet of river ships to keep up with the ever-growing demand for luxury boutique river cruising. Today’s announcement of four new ships is the exciting next step in expanding our wider cruise offer. “These new ships will enable us to offer an even greater range of boutique experiences to guests looking to travel on the waterways throughout Europe.”
