The Singapore zoo is just amazing with four options to choose from

  • Jurong Birds Park
  • Night Safari
  • River Safari

You can also choooe the four options all together in which our favorite is night safari. During night safari, you can say hello to over 1,000 animals in their natural nighttime habitat. The zoo is a 28 hectares land filled with plenty of animals, birds, and plants. If you are a nature lover or an animal lover, you will definitely love this place.

The cloud forest

The cloud forest is a fantasy world built by man. The cloud forest itself is a new and unique concept with planted walls and artificial waterfalls. The place is filled with rare plants and also features a 35-meter high hill covered in lush vegetation, which is also the tallest indoor waterfall in the whole world. You can walk around this human-made wonder, click some pictures and enjoy yourself.

Singapore botanic garden

Singapore botanical garden has 314 species of plants, three lakes, and 47 heritage tree. Nature enthusiasts can make a house and stay at this place forever since the garden is presented so beautifully. The entrance to this Singapore botanical garden is free of cost, and we recommend you to explore this fantastic place as much as you can.

Singapore street food

Street food is not a “place” for your visit. But being in a place where you have the opportunity to taste fantastic food is something exceptional. Singapore is pretty expensive, but Singapore street food is not that expensive. Walk around the streets, especially China town and eat whatever you feel like trying.

Sentosa Island

Do not expect an island life in Sentosa, but there are plenty of things to watch there. The island has vast shopping malls and an aquarium. The S.E.A Aquarium hosts more than 100.000 fishes and sea creatures, and it is a top-rated attraction on Sentosa Island. Kids would love this destination — so gear up for a marine life adventure.

Singapore holidays offer a fascinating food scene, endless shopping and outdoor activities based around Singapore’s lush gardens, green spaces, marinas and islands.

• The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve offers the chance to explore a patch of primary rainforest

• Gardens by the Bay is an impressive horticultural destination built on 101 hectares of reclaimed land

• The island of Sentosa is a playground for adults and children alike, with a range of attractions such as Universal Studios

• Singapore’s Chinatown is one of many vibrant cultural districts, with labyrinth streets of Chinese stores, atmospheric temples, chic shops, boutique hotels and delicious eateries

• Singapore has its own Michelin guide, with the red book having made its debut in 2016, crowning 29 establishments

There isn’t a great deal of climatic variation, with Singapore hot and humid year round, but April and May are especially hot, while March and September are susceptible to the highest humidity. There are two main monsoon seasons, when you can expect it to rain more than usual: December-March and June-September; January is probably the coolest option temperature wise.

With such high temperatures, clothing made from natural materials is probably wisest. Singaporeans are a smart bunch though and do also like to dress up for a night out, so some fancier clothes will also be a wise packing choice. Have an umbrella – both in case of that rainfall, or to provide some vital shade. Bug repellent would also be a good idea. And if you plan on doing activities, take light sports gear – and definitely comfortable shoes to make the most of this busy city.

Central Singapore

The old colonial part of the city to the north and east of the river features many of Singapore’s most iconic attractions including the legendary Raffles hotel , which dates from 1887 and is still one of the world’s most famous hotels with its colonial architecture and leafy courtyards. Another major reason for visiting the downtown area is the Orchard Road shopping street, which stretches for more than two kilometres, while there are also a host of fascinating museums to visit. An iconic modern sight is the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, which is an entertainment complex known locally as “the big durians” after the tropical fruit that’s renowned for its distinctive – and frankly pretty unpleasant - smell.

singapore tour dubai

Visiting this area to the south of central Singapore allows you a glimpse into what life used to be like when the Chinese came to live here. Despite the city’s modern developments, there are still some of the original narrow streets remaining, which are packed with food stalls, gold traders, medicinal shops and teahouses. It’s also a great district for foodies to try traditional treats such as stir-fried noodles or satay meat skewers. More upscale restaurants and bars are located in the Neil Road and Duxton Road areas, while locals tend to head for Club Street and Ann Siang Road at the weekend for dinner or a drink. The area around Pagoda Street is the place to head for the best shopping in the district.

Little India

This is another buzzing ethnic district, lying just to the north of the historic downtown area. Little India’s main thoroughfare, Serangoon Road , is packed with eye-catching Hindu and Chinese temples, alongside the mosques and churches that reflect Singapore’s religious and ethnic diversity. Also head to this area to enjoy authentic Indian food, including both vegetarian and tandoori dishes. Shopping is also a highlight, with plenty of other stores selling everything from gold and jewellery to saris and souvenirs and have a browse at the famous 24-hour Mustafa Centre , said to stock a staggering 300,000 items.

Western Singapore

A century ago, this part of the country was dominated by swamps and thick jungle but it has now developed into the second most populated part of Singapore. The centre of the district is Jurong in the south-west. While it’s mostly known as an industrial area, there are several reasons for tourists to visit including Jurong Bird Park with its impressive array of more than 400 species. The park is set on the 60-metre Jurong Hill , which also features a lookout tower with fantastic views around Singapore. Other Jurong attractions include Singapore Discovery Centre , which looks at the history of the country and how the future may enfold, while the Chinese and Japanese Gardens are popular with local residents for picnics.

This resort island to the south of Singapore itself attracts more than 20 million visitors every year. Sentosa is easily reached from the centre of the city by bus, the MRT rail system or taxi. There are plenty of attractions ranging from a two-kilometre beach and two golf courses to the vast Resorts World Sentosa entertainment complex, which includes the Universal Studios Singapore theme park, Adventure Cove Water Park , SEA Aquarium and one of Singapore’s two casinos. The island was once used as a British military fortress to protect Singapore from seaborne attacks a story told at Fort Siloso, which is now a museum. The island was renamed as Sentosa, which means “peace and tranquility” in Malay, in the early 1970s before opening up as a leisure destination in 1975.

Food is one of the destination’s main attractions, with an enticing range of Asian cuisines including Malay, Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese and Japanese, alongside many restaurants serving international fare. Singapore does not really have its own cuisine as such, although nonya, which is a mixture of Malay and Chinese, comes close. The city is best known for its noodle and seafood dishes – chilli crab is a genuine Singaporean specialty. For an authentic experience, try one of the many ‘hawker’ stalls that offer excellent local dishes in affordable and informal establishments.

Although Singapore offers fantastic cuisine, Hong Kong is also a foodies paradise – with 60-plus Michelin-starred restaurants and endless streetfood stalls and weird and wonderful local delicacies. Hong Kong is definitely a perfect destination for food-lovers.

Experience a melting pot of Asian And European cultures and influences on your Singapore holiday, which is reflected in the wide range of languages spoken and religions practiced by the many different ethnic groups, along with their many colourful festivals. Singapore prides itself as being ordered and organised, with an emphasis on cleanliness. Several laws to be aware of that are rigorously enforced include bans on chewing gum, jaywalking, littering, spitting or even feeding monkeys. It’s worth bearing these offences in mind, otherwise you could face an on-the-spot fine.

Whilst Singapore offers a unique atmosphere, most countries in the Fast East are steeped in their own unique culture. If discovery is an important aspect of your trip then our Vietnam holidays and Thailand holidays may interest you.

Holidays to Singapore have plenty to offer the wildlife enthusiast. The famous Night Safari zoo tour is one of the most popular options as gives the chance to spot more then 130 species of animals, including tigers and elephants, on trams and walking trails after dark. Neighbouring Singapore Zoo has more than 2,800 residents with top attractions such as orangutans and flying foxes. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve in the centre of the island is a protected rainforest area that’s home to long-tailed macaque monkeys, pythons and dozens of bird species.

If spotting some of the most amazing creatures our planet has to offer interests you, then you should also check out our Malaysia holidays which gives you the opportunity to see wildlife in their natural habitats. You can find Bornean orangutan, Malayan tigers and Indian elephants, important species of the Malaysian culture.

Singapore’s history dates back to the third century and the island later became an important port and trading post during the 14th century. From 1819 onwards, the British starting using the city as a stopping point for ships on the way to India while many Chinese and Indian migrants arrived to work at the port. The British surrendered control of Singapore to the Japanese in 1942 during World War II. After the war, Britain resumed control of the island until Singapore finally became an independent nation in 1965.

As well as Singapore's intriguing past, our Bali holidays also offer you the opportunity to discover an interesting and diverse history. The earliest written records of Bali are stone inscriptions dating back to the 9th century and provide some of the most unique trips back in time you can find in Asia.

Gardens by the Bay

One of Singapore’s most ambitious projects to date, this unique horticultural destination next to the Marina Reservoir spans 101 hectares of reclaimed land, and is made up of two main areas – Bay South Garden and Bay East Garden. In the south are the Supertrees – two tree-shaped vertical gardens between nine and 16 storeys tall that are connected by a suspended walkway; at night, there is a stunning light and sound show. Bay East Garden has expansive lush lawns and tropical palm trees, perfect for a bit of downtime in between sightseeing, or a picnic. There is also a Cloud Forest , where you will find the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and a 35-metre tall mountain veiled in mist and covered in vegetation.

Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Set in Chinatown , this $75 million Tang-styled Chinese Buddhist temple was only opened in 2007 but evokes hundreds of years of history. It is home to what Buddhists believe to be the left tooth of Buddha, which was recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India and is now displayed in the temple grounds. Free weekly guided tours are available and include the Hundred Dragons Hall, which houses a hundred Buddha statues, and the Universal Wisdom Hall, filled with handcrafted Bodhisattva artworks.

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Said to contain more species of trees than in the entire continent of North America, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is a nature-lovers’ dream. First established as a reserve in 1883, the park reopened in 2016 after a two-year restoration project; there are now boardwalks over swampy areas, rope handrails along some stretches of the trails, and a non-slip trail surface, all of which are designed to allow visitors to enjoy the area while also preserving this rainforest environment on the slopes of Bukit Timah Hill , Singapore's highest.

Esplanade Theatres on the Bay

Even if you are not going to check out one of the many shows at the twin Esplanade Theatres, go along anyway to soak up the atmosphere and incredible architecture of these two “durian shell” buildings, or even take a backstage tour. Not too far from here is Singapore’s most famed icon, the Merlion , a mythical creature that’s half-fish and half-lion and stands proudly overlooking the bay at Merlion Park.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

There are 60,000 reasons to visit this exquisite corner of Singapore – having that many plants makes it a nature lovers’ paradise and it has also now been recognized as the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site . There has been a park here for 150 years and while the whole place is wonderful, many people will make an immediate beeline for the National Orchid Garden where among the blooms are 200 plants named after VIPs such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Nelson Mandela.

Night Safari

The world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals was opened in 1994 and is home to more 2,500 animals of over 130 species, of which 38% are threatened. Visitors explore the park on a 40-minute tram ride through seven geographic regions, while interlinked walking trails also offer the chance of an encounter with threatened and endangered species such as the pangolin and clouded leopard. Night Safari sits under the umbrella of Wildlife Reserves Singapore , which also includes Jurong Bird Park , Singapore Zoo and River Safari .

National Gallery

At the National Gallery Singapore , two of Singapore’s most significant historical buildings – the former Supreme Court and the City Hall – have recently been cleverly merged. Come to Singapore’s largest museum to appreciate the art and architecture, but also be wowed by the views from the rooftop bar, Smoke and Mirrors.

Peranakan Museum

Get to know one of Singapore’s most vibrant and historic communities at this charming museum. Peranakan means ‘locally born’ in Malay, and refers to the descendants of foreign traders who married local women in south-east Asia centuries ago. Singapore’s Peranakan community is mostly Peranakan Chinese, descendants of Chinese traders who settled in the busy ports of Penang and Singapore in the 19th century. Combine this with a visit to the Joo Chiat/Katong area, filled with preserved shophouses and colonial bungalows, many now home to boutiques and restaurants, as well as The Intan, a charming private home-museum.

Exploring Dubai from Singapore: A Travel Guide

Singapore GoTo

Updated on: January 3, 2024

singapore tour dubai

Dubai, the dazzling city of skyscrapers and luxury, is a popular destination for travelers from all over the world. If you’re in Singapore and looking to embark on an unforgettable adventure to Dubai, this travel guide will provide you with all the essential information you need to know. From flight options to visa requirements and from top attractions to accommodation options, we’ve got you covered.

Understanding the Basics of Travel from Singapore to Dubai

Before you embark on your journey to Dubai, it’s important to understand the basics of travel from Singapore. The first thing to consider is the flight options and duration. There are several airlines that operate direct flights from Singapore to Dubai, including Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Flydubai. The duration of the flight is approximately 7 hours, depending on the airline and any layovers.

When it comes to choosing the right airline for your journey, it’s worth considering the amenities and services offered on board. Emirates, for example, is known for its luxurious cabins and excellent in-flight entertainment options. Singapore Airlines, on the other hand, is renowned for its exceptional service and comfortable seating. Flydubai, a budget airline, offers affordable fares without compromising on quality.

As a Singaporean traveler, you will also need to be aware of the visa requirements for visiting Dubai. Fortunately, Singapore passport holders are eligible for a visa-on-arrival in Dubai . This means that you can obtain your visa upon arrival at the Dubai International Airport without the need for any prior visa arrangements.

Once you arrive in Dubai, you will be greeted by the stunning architecture and modern skyline of the city. From the iconic Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, to the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial archipelago shaped like a palm tree, Dubai is a city that never fails to impress.

Another important factor to consider when planning your trip is the best time to visit Dubai. The city experiences a desert climate, with hot summers and warm winters. The ideal time to visit Dubai is during the winter months, from November to April, when the weather is pleasant and outdoor activities are more enjoyable.

During your stay in Dubai, you can explore a wide range of attractions and activities. Take a stroll through the historic neighborhood of Al Fahidi, visit the Dubai Museum to learn about the city’s rich heritage , or indulge in some retail therapy at the world-famous Dubai Mall. For adrenaline junkies, a visit to the IMG Worlds of Adventure, the largest indoor theme park in the world, is a must.

When it comes to dining in Dubai, you’ll be spoiled for choice. The city is home to a diverse culinary scene, with restaurants offering cuisines from around the world. From traditional Emirati dishes to international delicacies, there’s something to satisfy every palate.

As you explore Dubai, don’t forget to experience the city’s vibrant nightlife. From rooftop bars with breathtaking views to bustling nightclubs, Dubai offers a variety of entertainment options after dark. Whether you prefer a relaxed evening sipping cocktails or dancing the night away, you’re sure to find a venue that suits your taste.

Before you conclude your trip to Dubai, take some time to unwind and relax at one of the city’s luxurious spas. From traditional hammams to modern wellness retreats, Dubai offers a range of spa experiences that will leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Preparing for Your Trip to Dubai

singapore tour dubai

Before you jet off to Dubai, it’s crucial to pack the essential items that will ensure a comfortable and hassle-free trip. Apart from the usual clothing and personal items, make sure to pack sunscreen, as the sun can be quite intense in Dubai. Additionally, it’s advisable to bring a valid travel adapter, as Dubai operates on a 3-pin British plug system.

Understanding Dubai’s culture and customs is also important to ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience. Dubai is an Islamic city, and it’s crucial to respect local traditions and customs. Dress modestly when visiting religious sites, and always ask for permission before taking photographs of locals.

Furthermore, it’s essential to consider health and safety during your trip. Dubai has a high standard of medical care, but it’s always a good idea to have travel insurance that covers any potential medical emergencies. It’s also important to carry hand sanitizer and practice good hygiene, especially during the ongoing pandemic.

Exploring Dubai’s Top Attractions

Dubai is renowned for its iconic landmarks and world-class attractions. From the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world, to the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island shaped like a palm tree, there is no shortage of awe-inspiring sights to explore.

To truly immerse yourself in Dubai’s culture, make sure to visit the historic district of Al Fahidi. With its narrow alleyways and traditional wind towers, this area offers a glimpse into Dubai’s past. Don’t miss the Dubai Museum, located in the Al Fahidi Fort, which provides an insightful journey through the city’s history.

No trip to Dubai is complete without indulging in some shopping and dining experiences. The city is home to numerous luxurious malls, such as the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, where you can shop for designer brands and enjoy world-class dining options. You can also explore traditional markets, known as souks, where you can haggle for spices, textiles, and gold.

Accommodation Options in Dubai

singapore tour dubai

For a more unique and memorable experience , consider staying in one of Dubai’s unique accommodations. From floating villas at The World Islands to glamping in the desert at Al Maha Resort, these options offer a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find anywhere else.

North Vietnam

I would like to compliment Amanda Chen for her good services rendered to our tour group during the North Vietnam trip 7-12/12/22. She is very meticulous and responsible from pre- to post-trip, examples: 1) created Whatsapp group to communicate with the group 2) printed our vaccination certs, luggage tag with our names 3) special arrangements for 16 of us which booked together as friends, eg seating 4) ensure all passengers have no issues with their baggage post-trip before leaving the airport. During the trip, she took very good care of us, serving us with great patience and her heart. These include: 1) 3 of us from the tour group (including me) left our personal belongings at the hotels on different days. She was very nice to immediately call the hotel's housekeeping & always arranged to pick them up for us. I was extremely grateful to her for going the extra mile to arrange for her colleague from the next tour group to help me collect from the hotel's housekeeping as it was out of the way for our group to return to the hotel. Although the mittens were considered small value items, they were precious to me because they were Little Men/Miss limited edition by Bossini, which are no longer available for purchase. She followed through with me for more than 1 week after our trip to keep me updated & also ensure that I have collected the mittens from CTC office in Singapore yesterday. Her service level is really delightful & exemplary! 2) I was sick during the trip and she would visit me to check-in if I was alright or need anything else. 3) When we feedback about anything missing from the room, she would immediately help us contact/request from the hotel, cruise or restaurant. 4) She tried her best to meet the special needs of elderly in the group and the group's adhoc requests. For example, the Hanoi Chalcedony Hotel's double beds were very tiny and uncomfortable, so many of them requested to change to single beds. During one of the nights, she had to give up her own room for an unhappy customer. Thank you for assigning Amanda to our group and I wish her continued success in hospitality/customer service.

My name is Marcus Leo.  Me and my family (consisting of my Dad, mum & my uncle) very recently went on a 5 day 4 night CTC tour of Vietnam. Our flight back to Singapore was yesterday 03/04/2023.  Our CTC travel tour guide was Mr Wen Jun.  I would like to give a very special mention to Mr Wen Jun and say that he has been extremely friendly, helpful and professional from the very start up to the very end of the arrival process back to Changi airport.  Throughout the entire tour, he has maintained a very high standard of professionalism throughout while still being friendly, funny, respectful and courteous to everyone.  Additionally, I must say this. My family understood that this tour was a purely Mandarin speaking tour. Having lived in Australia for more 20 years, me and my family are primarily English speaking with little comprehension of Mandarin. Throughout the whole tour, Mr Wen Jun went above and beyond his scope of duty to explain and translate things to us in English as we went along with the tour. He had no obligations to do this, but he went out of his way to do this for me and my family, and for that, we are very grateful to him and it made the difference between a good tour and a GREAT tour for us.  Me and my family have travelled around the world with many tour guides in the past, but very little to none of them were as professional and flexible as Mr Wen Jun.  The purpose of this e-mail is to give positive feedback for Mr Wen Jun. In conclusion, I am a very firm believer of giving credit when credit is due. I would like to say that Mr Wen Jun is indeed an asset to the CTC Travel Group. It is my hope that Mr Wen Jun be properly recognized for his good work and I would like to recommend Mr Wen Jun for a promotion within the CTC Travel Group.  I look forward to booking another tour with CTC Travel Group in the future and when I do, I hope to have Mr Wen Jun as my tour leader.  Thank you CTC & Wen Jun for a very happy and memorable Vietnam tour with my family.

Hanoi Sapa Tour

I am writing here to compliments our Tour guide Mr Eric Yong. He have showered great care through out the whole of seven days. A great tour guide, he ensure all seniors are well taken care of and also most importantly all their well being. A wonderful guide who's strongly recommended and acknowledged for his professional and love with care during the tour.  I was down with food poisoning in the middle of the night. Vomited badly,  I called him, without any delay and hesitation, he came to our room with a boiling kettle from his room. To boiled water and given me the medication I needed. And the next morning, he sent me to the clinic and stays with me throughout the review by doctors. And also accompanying me back to hotel, reminded the front desk to deliver porridge to my room for my lunch and dinner.  My sincere heartfelt thanks to his kindness to ensure all our well being is well taken care of during the tour. I will sure looking forwards to join more tours to be guided by him.

My name is Wendy. I travelled with my husband and my son to Finland, Norway and Estonia with CTC from 11 Dec to 19 Dec. I would like to write this Compliment Letter for your Product & Sales Manager Mr Jimmy Pua for his proactive and responsible attitude during the pre-sales consultation, his timely replies to help me conduct pre-trip preparation and his warm assistance to bring my son's lost winter jacket from Finland to Singapore. I met Jimmy at your Travel Revolution Fair booth in July 2022 at MBS. I was planning to let my son travel to a place to experience snow and cold weather. I visited some other travel agencies first and checked with them for Finland and Hokkaido packages. After I shared my concern that my son is a child with Autism so it may cause some inconvenience for other group members, the other sales persons did not give me enough useful feedback and ended up only encouraging me to pay the deposit as early as possible. I did not feel very confident so I just told myself that maybe I need to visit one more agency to get a second opinion. So I walked to CTC booth to talk to a lady about the Hokkaido package first. After understanding that Japan was not fully opened yet, I decided to only consider the Finland package. After I told Jimmy the same concern, he shared with me some past experiences he and his colleagues used to handle special needs kids in their groups. He told me it’s quite challenging but things still could work out finally. He also suggested there can be some special arrangements such as we can sit at the last row on the bus, have dinner at a corner table, and stay in a corner quiet room with a reasonable distance to the rest. He even went to talk to his manager to double confirm which gave me more confidence and reassurance. So at that moment I decided to take this winter adventure with CTC. Later on I paid the deposit and then Jimmy added me on WhatsApp. He told me I could message him for any other questions before the trip. My husband is holding a China passport so he needs to get his Schengen Visa done. Jimmy answered all my tedious questions and prepared all the required documents regarding the visa application and even sent me the direction guide to the Visa Centre. For something he is not sure about, he also helped me to call the Visa Centre or the embassy to find out the answers. When there was one month ahead of the departure date Jimmy linked me up with our tour guide Edward and told me he shared our background with Edward so I can follow up with him to settle the arrangement details. Our trip went quite smoothly generally. I can see my son really enjoyed snow activities and learned several new skills. Really appreciate that other group members were being very friendly and supportive. The only regret is that due to the continuous snow and cloudy weather we were not able to see Aurora through our eyes. After reaching Singapore we realized my son lost his Uniqlo winter jacket at Holiday Club Hotel at Lapland. I remembered it should have been lost at either the playground above the canteen or our room. I contacted the hotel by email and they replied they found the jacket but did not know how to return to us. Then I messaged Jimmy who happened to travel nearby that area to let him know the situation. He replied to me later that he should be able to drop by the hotel so he can help me collect and bring it to Singapore. The winter jacket is not so valuable but it carries the unforgettable memory for my son to see and play with snow for the first time. I really appreciate Jimmy’s assistance to help me bring it back from thousands of miles away. It was a Christmas Miracle for me. Overall I also need to thank CTC for arranging a wonderful trip for our family. This trip also marked an important milestone for my son to be able to manage himself and solve problems in a new environment. During the trip I also feel grateful that more and more people become aware about Autism and the more inclusive international society can support our special needs community to experience the same travelling joys during holiday seasons.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and admiration for the exceptional service provide by Anson Tong and China Local tour guide Ms Su Cheng, during the 8D Yunnan Shangri-la tour that I recently participated in. Anson went above and beyond in ensuring that our tour experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and I believe it is important to acknowledge his outstanding efforts. From the moment I joined the tour, it was evident that Anson displayed exceptional organizational skills throughout the tour. He and the local tour guide Ms Su meticulously planned each day's itinerary, ensuring that we had ample time to explore key landmarks and attractions, while also allowing for moments of relaxation and personal discovery. Their attention to detail and seamless coordination made the entire experience effortless and enjoyable for all of us. Furthermore, Anson exhibited remarkable interpersonal skills, caring for elderly and fostering a warm and inclusive environment within our tour group. He is friendly, approachable and had a remarkable ability to cater to the diverse needs and interest of the group, ensuring that everyone felt valued and included. In addition, he is a good photographer who shared the beautiful photos each days in the chat group. His enthusiasm and passion for their work were palpable, and it undoubtedly contributed to the overall success of the tour. Lastly, Thank you for an outstanding tour, and please ensure that Mr Anson Tong and Ms Su receive the recognition they deserve. I look forward to embarking on future adventure with CTC and will not hesitate to recommend your service to family and friends.

Spain, Portugal

Sending this email to appreciate our tour guide Don who did a wonder job during our Spain trip. He was tentative to our needs and always looking out to ensure that we are safe and well taken care of, especially in Europe which is theft prone. With his past experience he knew where to bring us for best photo shoots, food, best view of sceneries, catching sunset during winter which could be challenging as days are shorter. He recommended food at the different cities knowing our cravings for Asians food after a while. Bringing sauces for almost every meal that he anticipated we would need! And importantly always ahead/on-time to ensure that we experience minimum queues/crowds. Amazing guide and hope to travel with him/CTC again soon. The daily videos he made really are good summaries/memories which made this trip unforgettable, never missing out a family photo.   Not to forget Joanne too who recommended this tour during the NATA fare when I told her that I am looking for a place in Europe not so cold in Dec, good recommendation!

As my holiday draws to a close, I feel compelled to offer a sincere compliment to our tour leader, Kenneth, who has been an absolute gem throughout this trip. Kenneth has been exceptionally accommodating, courteous, and caring towards all of us, providing extra care to each and every one of us, especially considering the number of elderly members in our tour group. He was also highly flexible and reassuring, never failing to be extremely clear with his instructions and reminders. One instance that particularly moved me and touched all our hearts was witnessing him exert so much strength and effort to carry one of our injured elderly tour mates who had sprained her ankle. His attentive care for her truly earned admiration from everyone in the tour group. It's very obvious to all of us that Kenneth is genuinely empathetic and kind-hearted, evident in the way he looks after and assists all of us. I believe he truly deserves commendation and praise for his character and excellent service. He really made us feel like we gained a lovely God son on this trip! Additionally, Kenneth was very generous in treating us to delicious Korean treats, and even waited so patiently at Nami Island to acquire as many steam buns as he could for as many people in the group as possible, despite them being constantly sold out and made in such low volume. That allowed us to explore the island in the meantime and have a taste of the special bun afterwards. His cheerful demeanour and positivity really brightened each day of the trip. Overall, he is not only highly meticulous but also very easy-going, helpful and sweet. Having Kenneth as our tour leader has been a joy and truly a blessing. Kudos to CTC for having such a valuable tour leader! Cheers!

Yangtze Cruise

We were very fortunate to have Kovan Naa with us on this Group K tour. He is amazingly a caring person who had taken care of the seniors and everyone of us. He is a very responsible & hardworking leader, also ensuring that everyone is safe too. Thanks to Kovan for his extra attentive care to my hubby Danny. much appreciated. This first uniquely cruise were Successful, Awesome & Enjoyable with all the capable group leaders. Well done to all & CTC Travel. We will continue to Support CTC for future tours.

Dear sir, I would like to share my feedback on the Yangtze travel cruise on 30 November to 12 December. Firstly I would like to commend on the professionalism of all the tour leaders and the help rendered and support at each stage. I was in group A and the tour leader, John, showed that he has done his research on the different tour sites and locations, is familiar with the Chinese culture and is able to recommend the do and don’t and what precautions should be taken. I went there with an unfortunate leg injury that occured before the trip. The tour leaders there understood the limitations I had and sought to make the tour as accessible as possible for me eg helping with luggage and steps. Where the area might be too hazardous for me they recommended either I stay near the entrance when tired or stay on board the ship. The thought and concern for my wellbeing is clear from the leaders. Sincere thanks also to Yulce for helping with the arrangements and Xiaoxia (Liya) the chongqing local guide who assisted us greatly at chongqing and helped us liaise with the hotel over our delivery to the hotel arranged by my friend.

When we compare the travel costs of actual travelers between Dubai and Singapore, we can see that Dubai is more expensive. And not only is Singapore much less expensive, but it is actually a significantly cheaper destination. Since Dubai is in Middle East and Singapore is in Asia, this is one of the main reasons why the costs are so different, as different regions of the world tend to have overall different travel costs. So, traveling to Singapore would let you spend less money overall. Or, you could decide to spend more money in Singapore and be able to afford a more luxurious travel style by staying in nicer hotels, eating at more expensive restaurants, taking tours, and experiencing more activities. The same level of travel in Dubai would naturally cost you much more money, so you would probably want to keep your budget a little tighter in Dubai than you might in Singapore.

If you're trying to decide if either of these two destinations are within your price range, also see Is Dubai Expensive? and Is Singapore Expensive? .

Singapore has a larger population, and is about 3 times larger than the population of Dubai. When comparing the sizes of Dubai and Singapore, keep in mind that a larger population does not always imply the destination has more attractions or better activities. So, always research the type of place that you want to visit along with the activities and attractions that interest you.

Dubai Or Singapore: The Honest Comparison You Need [2023]

W hen it comes to exciting city breaks, Dubai and Singapore are two that should be near the top of everyone’s bucket list. That’s because both of these lively cities can offer unique experiences and unforgettable vacations.

However choosing whether to visit Dubai or Singapore for that once-in-a-lifetime holiday can be exceptionally difficult.

That said, in general if you’re looking for adventurous excursions and great shopping, then Dubai may be a better choice than Singapore. Whereas Singapore may be the better choice if you’re looking for a relaxed city break with a varied nightlife, good food, and cultural experiences.

Yet in truth that’s just scratching the surface when it comes to which city could suit you best.

Thankfully we know both cities well, so are here to help you decide which one is right for you. We’ll look at the excursions on offer, their nightlife, which is cheaper, safer and lots more.

So let’s dive in!

  • Which Is The Better Cultural Experience
  • Which Has The Better Nightlife
  • Which Has The Better Excursions
  • Which Has The Better Shopping
  • Which Is Cheaper

Where To Stay According To Your Budget

Which Is The Better Cultural Experience?

Singapore is probably the most modern city in South East Asia, and with that has come an interesting mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western influences and culture.

Globalization has driven Singapore’s recent development and it has a very ‘Western’ feel to it – that’s taken its toll on Singaporean culture. That said the ‘Little India’, and ‘Chinatown’ areas of the city have their own cultural charm.

You won’t find a plethora of street sellers here like in other Southeast Asian destinations, and this city is far more ordered and calm – which actually makes it a pretty good destination for a relaxed vacation.

Still, remnants of the Singapore of old still exist if you know where to look – for example the bustling late-night food market, Newton Market .

While Singapore’s global and modern feel has grown organically, Dubai has created skyscrapers, malls, and even artificial islands in an attempt to become one of the world’s most sought-after vacation spots. It’s worked.

The oil money that has driven this change has transformed Dubai, but Islam remains at the heart of the city, and the beautiful Jumeirah Mosque is worth visiting.

There’s plenty of local food in Dubai to try out in restaurants too, but you’ll struggle to find street markets like in other big cities around the world.

For those reasons, we think Singapore has the edge when it comes to cultural experiences.

Which Has The Better Nightlife?

Despite being part of the Muslim majority UAE, there are many clubs and bars that serve alcohol in Dubai, and the city has an exciting nightlife scene.

However only certain establishments can sell alcohol – like hotels, clubs and restaurants – so most of Dubai’s drinking spots are quite exclusive and sometimes expensive as they are mainly located inside hotels. These nightlife spots are fun and energetic though.

In Singapore there’s plenty of cocktail lounges, budget beer places, and nightclubs to dance until the early morning.

The nightlife in Singapore is focused around the city center, and for classy cocktails with a view head to Marina Bay where Singapore’s best dressed congregate in the early evening.

If you’re wanting a more lively time then Clarke Quay is the place to be – packed with bars and nightclubs, this is Singapore’s late night spot.

Because Singapore’s nightlife is more diverse than Dubai, and the fact this is a city which is more relaxed about dress code and showing romantic intentions, we actually think it’s a better nightlife spot. If you want exclusive clubs and high-end bars, Dubai may suit you better though.

Which Has The Better Excursions?

Dubai is a city that has risen out of the desert, and it’s styled itself as the ultimate vacation destination.

It’s been successful in doing so thanks to the wide range of excursions and things to do in Dubai. That includes surprising options like skiing indoors on actual snow, huge water parks, and swimming in the world’s highest pool.

Visiting the highest building in the world – the Burj Khalifa – is a must, as is Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo .

Outside of the city are more adventurous options, like dune buggy racing in the desert, sky diving and camel riding. There’s no real scenic beauty here – unlike Singapore which is lush and tropical – but Dubai is a place for adventure rather than scenery.

The city-state of Singapore has a wealth of things to do as well, and excels when it comes to family friendly excursions. Singapore has theme parks, a zoo, aquariums, opportunities to spot dolphins, and spectacular birds like endangered parrots at Jurong Bird Park.

It’s also a city with many green spaces, making it perfect for picnics, romantic walks and more. One of those spaces is Mount Faber , which is a rainforest-clad hill with some lovely trails, and even a cable car so you can enjoy lovely views across Singapore.

You can also visit the nearby Sentosa Island which has gorgeous golden beaches.

When it comes to excursions both of these destinations have great choices. But in our opinion, Dubai probably just edges it due to the variety of excursions on offer.

Which Has The Better Shopping?

B oth of these cities have fam ous sh opping streets and mega ma l ls, s o y ou’re unlikely t o be disapp ointed if y ou have ambiti ons of a sh opping spree.

Singapore is a great sh opping destinati on when y ou’re on the hunt f or high-end brands. In particular Orchard Road is famous for its luxury retail outlets and world-class cuisine options.

Dubai has several massive malls selling luxury goods and brands from around the world, and may be one of the best shopping cities on the planet.

However in the old town you can still find more traditional markets like Bur   Dubai and Souk Madinat Jumeirah where it’s possible to pick up a bargain, antiques, and more.

Which Is Cheaper?

In terms of expenses we’ve found Dubai to be a cheaper destinati on than Singapore in regards t o acc omm odati on, f o od, and m ore.

There isn’t a huge difference in price, and in places like Newton Market in Singapore you can find cheap food, but overall Dubai is less expensive.

Which Is Safer?

Both are safe destinations, which is why tourists visit in huge numbers every year.

However, as always when on holiday you should avoid confrontations with locals, avoid walking in unlit areas at night, and keep an eye on your drinks when at clubs and bars.

The reality is that both Dubai and Singapore are two of the safest cities in the world, and crime against foreigners – even petty theft – is incredibly rare.

What About The Weather?

It’s worth mentioning the weather, as Dubai can get extremely warm during the summer months – upwards of 40 Celcius (104 Fahrenheit).

Between November – February, the temperatures are far more pleasant (25C/77F), which is worth factoring into your decision about where and when to go on holiday.

Singapore is more humid than Dubai, and rainfall can be common during the two monsoon seasons (December to March, and June to September).

However daytime temperatures in Singapore typically float around 30 Celsius or 86 Fahrenheit throughout the year.

Dubai vs Singapore : Which Is The Better Choice?

B oth cities are definitely w orth visiting at s ome p oint, and each has its own unique charm and quirks.

If you’re looking for adventurous excursions and great shopping, then Dubai may be a better choice than Singapore. However it’s best to visit in winter when temperatures are cooler.

A Singapore vacation has some great excursion options too, and may be a better choice if you’re looking for a relaxed city break with a varied nightlife, good food, and cultural experiences.
