Carnac's Guide to Star Trek Fleet Command

Faction Reputation, and How to Get It

Carnac | August 2, 2020 June 5, 2020 | Strategy

If you’re looking to advance in Star Trek Fleet Command, finish missions, win battles and get bigger ships, you’re going to need faction reputation.

How do I get Faction Reputation?

  • Killing hostiles of the other factions.
  • Completing your daily goals
  • Completing missions
  • Spending resources in the various daily Faction Reputation Events
  • Defeating armadas (the only way to gain faction rep without losing any).
  • Spending charged nanoprobes in the event store.

Getting Faction Reputation from Killing Hostiles

As with most everything in Star Trek Fleet Command, it’s all about triangles. So if you kill a Federation ship, your Romulan rep will go up a lot, your Klingon rep will go up about half as much, and your Fed rep will go down. Higher-level ships will give you more reputation than lower-level ships. Survey ships will get you more reputation than warships. And scout ships not only give you messages, but they provide you with more reputation than survey ships.

Reputation Levels

Faction “lock”.

When you get your reputation with any of the factions to 10 million, it will lock, meaning that it will never fall below 10 million. No matter how many ships you kill, or missions you do, the lowest your faction rep will go will be 10 million. Dual faction lock and triple faction lock will open up a lot of ships and resources for you.

What’s the Faction Store?

Here you’ll find ship blueprints, loyalty packs, recruit packs, raw materials, avatars, and commendation ranks. You’ll spend the faction credits that you’ll earn on these. In general, you’ll want to save your faction credits for ship blueprints. The loyalty packs are good too but don’t go nuts with those.

And here’s the answer to the question that everyone has asked so far – no, you shouldn’t buy the commendation ranks until you absolutely have to for a mission . They don’t do you any good beforehand, and yes, I really wish someone had told me this before I bought a few.

I can’t imagine why anyone would spend faction credits on avatars… but to each his own.

What About the Augment Faction?

Augments are a horse of a different color. Augment reputation is earned in events, or purchased in the faction store. You can’t get it by destroying ships. It never goes down. Once you get to 10,500,000 you never have to worry about it again.

Romulan, Klingon and Federation Reputation

Reputation is how much a faction likes or dislikes you. For the major three factions (Klingon, Romulan and Federation), as your reputation goes up, several things will change for you. First, you have your daily missions from the faction. Next you have what you can purchase in the faction store. Finally, you have your away team faction missions and your away team store.

I am looking for the rest of the table info by reputation level. If you have it, please send it to me through Discord/FB/Twitter. Thanks so much! :)

What is Commendation Rank in Star Trek: Fleet Command? Answered

What is Commendation Rank in Star Trek: Fleet Command? Answered

Star Trek Fleet Command is a fun mobile strategy game set in the Star Trek universe. Players must build a powerful ship, create an alliance and fight other players. Also, one of the player’s goals is to increase the faction’s reputation. And in this guide, we will tell you about the Commendation Rank.

What is Commendation Rank?

The Commendation Rank is an item that can be purchased from the faction store. Depending on the tiers, the price will vary.

  • Tier 2 costs 250 credits.
  • Tier 3 costs 1000 credits.
  • Tier 4 costs 2,000 credits.
  • Tier 5 costs 3500 credits.
  • Tier 6 costs 5,000 credits.

Many players thought that the Commendation Rank was needed to increase your faction’s reputation. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. The only reason to buy Commendation Rank is because of very specific missions. This item does not have any other functions.

This is a kind of trick that forces you to spend credits in order to earn even more credits. But apart from the specific mission, this item is useless. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you never buy one. After all, no one wants to save up credits in order to end up spending them on unnecessary items.

You can still increase your faction reputation without the useless Commendation Rank. We recommend you to grind in Faction Hostiles. And also do not forget about the faction reputation events that appear from time to time. We hope this guide was useful for you and you remember that you do not need to buy the Commendation Rank.

Mining Tips

Tip , as it gets more dangerous the higher reputation you get with the Augments, remember to mine there and not be hit: 1: Send a ship & closely after , your Botany Bay or other Mining Ship, once the 1st ship is targeted, set your Survey to mine the Data, then warp the 1st ship out before it's hit. Your Survey ship will be safe to mine thereafter. 2: Send your mining ship closely followed by another ship, once your Survey Ship is targeted by the Bounty Hunter Ship, simply attack it with your other ship, you are then safe to mine also toggle on and off to respawn the mine without being targeted again.
