Taste Of Chaos -- A.K.A. 'Winter Warped' -- Tour Dates, Lineup Confirmed

taste of chaos tour

For fans of the Warped Tour, the winter months are usually seen as the off-season, a time to buff those Doc Martens or experiment with some Manic Panic variants. But starting in February, the young and spiky will have new reason to rejoice: the Taste of Chaos Tour.

Warped founder Kevin Lyman is the mastermind behind the tour, and he's confirmed both the lineup and the dates for the inaugural jaunt. As previously reported (see [article id="1492238"]"Warped Tour On Ice: Used To Headline Wintertime Version Of Trek" [/article]), the Used are locked in to headline, but the rest of the bill has been confirmed, and it's a harder-edged lineup than Warped fans might be expecting: My Chemical Romance, Killswitch Engage and Senses Fail will appear on all dates. Underoath and Saosin will also play a number of shows on the tour.

"We have 1,200 submissions for Warped next year, and a lot of them are these new, harder-edged bands like Killswitch or Senses Fail," Lyman said. "And with these harder acts, they always seem to play on metal tours. Metal tickets always cost more. T-shirts always more at metal shows. If you're a 14 or 15-year-old kid, and you want to see an established metal act, you've got to pay twice as much to do so."

Taste of Chaos will make stops in 38 cities in the U.S. and Canada, and with the exception of the first few dates in Florida, the tour will play arenas exclusively. Lyman also plans on an "early gate" policy for Taste, where fans can show up at 5 p.m. and be let into areas of the arena (including an acoustic stage featuring acts like Bleed the Dream and Opiate for the Masses). Ten to 15 minutes before the first band hits the main stage, general admission will open, and kids can make a mad dash to secure prime concert-viewing locations.

"It won't be like a typical arena show, where kids come in and just mill around for a couple of hours," Lyman said. "It'll be like Warped, where 2,000-3,000 kids rush to the stage to catch the first band. And it's a rush for that band to see all these kids sprinting towards them."

Lyman said that the goal with Taste is to establish a long-running tradition, like Warped. Unfortunately, that probably means that like Warped, the first few years will be lean.

"We all know that we're going to lose money on this initially, but that's what happened with Warped, too," Lyman said. "I hope we don't lose as much money as we did on the first year of Warped, or I'll be living in the backyard, because my wife will throw me out."

Dates for the 2005 Taste of Chaos Tour, according to the tour's organizers (venues will be announced soon):

After 37 packed dates across the United States and Canada last Winter, followed by an equally successful international run which hit England, Scotland, Germany, Australia and Japan, The Taste of Chaos tour is back with another onslaught of Winter shows in the United States and Canada, featuring a who’s-who of young, loud, aggressive bands.

Kevin Lyman, the brainchild behind the Vans Warped Tour, has once again created a model for more-bang-for-your-buck. Lyman says, “Our goal is to give fans a six hour arena show with a multimedia experience of live music and activities for under $30 bucks”. The tour is scheduled to hit 46 cities in the U.S. and Canada between mid-February and mid-April. The multi-artist package in the U.S. will feature: THRICE, ATREYU, DEFTONES, STORY OF THE YEAR, AS I LAY DYING, DREDG, SILVERSTEIN, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS, PELICAN, THE CONFESSION, ADAIR, STREET DRUM CORPS, GREELEY ESTATES, MILLIONAIRE, THE SMASHUP... and other special musical surprises to be announced. THURSDAY will replace STORY OF THE YEAR for the Canadian portion of the tour.

Rockstar Energy Drink has signed on to be the title sponsor of the 2006 tour and will be sampling their products, as well as coming up with some great surprises for attendees. Nintendo has returned as a second year sponsor so that fans can play the coolest new Nintendo products and games in special gaming kiosks that will be set up at each venue. Other sponsors include Best Buy, Hot Topic and Ernie Ball (who will provide musical instruments for fans to test out.) FUSE Television, MySpace.com, Alternative Press and Revolver have signed on as official Taste of Chaos media partners.

THE USED will be teaming up with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE for the first ever 'Taste of Chaos Tour'. The tour will take place from early February through the middle of April, and will pass through North America playing venues ranging in size from 3,000 to 10,000 seat capacity. "KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are one of the few bands out there who can successfully cross both the Ozzfest and Warped Tour demographics," says Roadrunner Records Sr. Director of Touring & Artist Development Harlan Frey. "KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have already cemented themselves as one of the premier hard rock/metal acts in music today, and "Taste of Chaos" will provide them the perfect platform needed to do the same in the Alternative/Punk genre."

Reached for comment while on the Jagermeister Music Tour with SLAYER and MASTODON, vocalist Howard Jones says; "We are stoked to be a part of the first annual Taste of Chaos Tour. This is a chance for us to play to a bit of a different crowd and hopefully make some new fans along the way."

Chaos tour will bend ears in Everett

Share story

Why should rock festivals be strictly a summer phenomenon? After all, as the Taste of Chaos Tour will prove at the Everett Events Center tomorrow, it’s always warm in the mosh pit.

Organized by Kevin Lyman, creator of the wildly popular Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos is the first in what Lyman hopes to be a long line of annual winter rock festivals. As with the Warped Tour, the new endeavor boasts a lineup of the heaviest hitters in melodic hard core, including such acts as The Used, My Chemical Romance, Killswitch Engage, Senses Fail, A Static Lullaby, and more.

In addition to the main performances, a secondary acoustic stage will feature up-and-comers like Opiate For the Masses, Bleed the Dream and Nicky P.

The biggest name is Utah-based quartet The Used, whose 2002 self-titled debut album has sold more than a million copies and was instrumental in defining the genre known as “screamo” (punk/hard core combining screams with emotional crooning). Despite playing more than 600 tour dates in the past three years alone, the group still managed to release a follow-up album, “In Love and Death,” this past September.

But while many bands on the bill follow directly in The Used’s musical footsteps, perhaps the most exciting group is the one with the least reason to be there.

“We’re obviously a metal band,” says Killswitch Engage guitarist Joel Stroetzel, “so I’m interested to see how it goes.” With a heavy mix of blasting percussion and guitar virtuosity, the band essentially gave birth to the highly technical “metalcore” genre.

Though the music remains the primary focus, audience participation is a major part of organizer Lyman’s vision. Like the Warped Tour, each of the festivals in the 36-city run will include a midway featuring the latest video games, autograph signings and other interactive activities.

The tour also has a partnership with Myspace.com, an online community where individuals and bands create and browse each other’s profiles. Through the free service, Taste of Chaos sponsored an online battle-of-the-bands, with members voting on which local band in each city they’d like to see perform on the tour’s acoustic stage. For this show, that’s Kent-based hard-core group As Fate Would Have It, who’ll be sharing the stage with Idiot Pilot, a teenage rock duo from Bellingham.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

Coachella 2024 live: Influencers flock to main stage for Lana Del Rey headline set

LIVE – Updated at 07:34

Lana Del Rey ’s highly-anticipated headline performance is underway on the Friday evening of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2024.

The double weekender will also see headline performances from Tyler the Creator and Doja Cat . The second weekend takes place from Friday 19 April to Sunday 21 April, with the same artists performing at both shows.

Friday has already seen perfomances from rising Mexican singer Peso Pluma, rapper Lil Uzi Vert , French dance act Justice and a history-making set from K-pop boyband Ateez.

Organisers and fans will be hoping for a steady ship this year after Frank Ocean pulled out of performing at the festival’s second weekend last year following a “chaotic” performance.

Asides from its reputation for drawing influencers, many celebrities have been known to attend the event over the years, with Vanessa Hudgens being unofficially dubbed the Queen of Coachella .

The festival will also include some must-see art installations, food and drink, and immersive experiences for ticket holders, which you can read about here.

Lana Del Rey gets on her bike

Lana Del Rey arrived in style for her Coachella headline set tonight - astride the back of a motorcycle, followed by a team of dancers travelling in similar style. She opened by playing “Without You” for the first time since 2014.

All eyes on Ateez

Dedicated fans have been camped out all day patiently waiting for the appearance of Ateez, who make history as the first K-pop boy band to ever take the stage at Coachella. Their reception of the Sahara stage is suitably raucous given the history-making occasion:

Suki Waterhouse brings her ‘Moves’ to the Gobi stage

Suki Waterhouse, who just weeks ago gave birth to her first child with Robert Pattinson , tells the Gobi stage audience that it feels surreal to be on stage. “I just don’t even believe that this is reality right now,” she tells the crowd. Considering she played a fictional rock star in Daisy Jones And The Six , she can probably be forgiven for questioning what’s fact and what’s fiction right now. After opening with the infectious “Moves”, she goes straight into recent single “My Fun”.

Honey Dijon x Green Velvet bring “phenomenal visuals” to Quasar stage

Chicago-born DJs Honey Dijon and Green Velvet are going back-to-back on the Quasar stage, and The Independent ’s man-on-the-ground Matthew Cooper reports that the pair have brought “phenomenal visuals”. Here’s a taste:

Peso Pluma joined by Becky G after memorable Coachella stage introduction

Last year, California-born Becky G brought rising Mexican star Peso Pluma out to join her during her set on Coachella’s main stage, so there’s a nice full-circle element to her coming out tonight to make a guest appearance during his packed show:

That came after Peso himself had emerged in suitably epic fashion:

Shakira makes surprise appearance with Bizarrap

Colombian superstar Shakira has made a surprise appearance at Coachella, rising up on an elevated platform behind Argentine DJ Bizarrap in a firey dress and oversized aviator shades.

The pair performed their hits “La Fuerte” and “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”

Shakira also took the opportunity to announce her first world tour since 2017.

British DJs Anti Up have a license to print money

In advance of their headline set on the Mojave stage tonight, British DJ duo Anti Up have been distributing their very own $100 bills. The Independent ’s team on the ground captured the below image - but no news yet as to whether they’re legal tender at the festival’s famously overpriced food tents...

Lil Uzi Vert leaves fans breathless with hit-packed set

Philadelphia-born rapper Lil Uzi Vert brought a huge crowd to the main Coachella stage on Friday evening, delivering hits including “Do What I Want” and “The Way Life Goes” and coquettishly telling the massed audience he’s got a secret to tell them. “I think you might already know... I love you, and I hope you love me too.” The screams of “Uzi” he gets in response leave him in no doubt about that one.

Barry Keoghan was on camera duty at Sabrina Carpenter

Saltburn star Barry Keoghan has enjoyed a breakout year, and he’s now widely rumoured to be dating Sabrina Carpenter.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the Irish actor down the front for her Coachella set, and captured him filming Carpenter while looking altogether smitten.

Yee haw! Is Beyoncé to blame for Coachella going cowboy-core?

Just weeks after the release of Beyoncé’s acclaimed country album Cowboy Carter, Coachella is filling up with dedicated followers of fashion kitted out as if they’re off to the rodeo. Coincidence? We think not.

Coachella makes highly requested change to alcohol consumption rules

Regular readers will know how much I detest the 21+ drinking pens at Coachella (Frequently I’ve found myself penned inside a drinking cage like a battery hen, screaming internally: “My kingdom for a cider bus!”), so I was delighted to hear that they’ve relaxed the rules this year.

Read the full story here:

Brittany Howard is a solo star

She may have made her name as the frontwoman of Alabama Shakes, but Brittany Howard is proving on the Gobi Stage just why her solo career is already “monumental” just two albums in. Don’t miss Stevie Chick’s interview with the Nashville-based singer songwriter from earlier this year:

Brittany Howard on grief and Alabama: ‘I didn’t believe in any higher power anymore’

Skepta brings a taste of grime to the California desert

Tottenham-born MC Skepta is on the Sahara stage right now, roaring through “Show Out”, his 2020 collaboration with Kid Cudi and Pop Smoke. He’s a long way from North London, but there’s plenty of fans rapping along to every word in the crowd.

Sabrina Carpenter takes Coachella to a seedy motel

Sabrina Carpenter has gone all out with her set design: She’s constructed a baby-blue roadside motel onstage, complete with a crashed car and some watching cacti. She first appears onstage riding a neon heart-shaped sign before climbing through a motel window and thrilling the crowd with her single “Fast Times”. “Coachella scream!” she instructs following a guitar solo, and the audience are only too happy to oblige.

Chappell Roan is a ‘Femininomenon’

Chappell Roan has just whipped off her oversized tweed suit on the Gobi stage to reveal a bodysuit reading: “Eat Me”. A real pop star move. Backed by a three-piece band, the artist billed by no less than Elton John as a ‘queer pop superstar in the making’ had opened with a thrilling rendition of last year’s “Femininomenon”. Read our in-depth interview with Roan here:

Chappell Roan on Elton John, queer stardom, and Olivia Rodrigo’s advice

Rising star Young Miko draws big crowd to main stage

Over on the main Coachella stage, Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko has a huge crowd eating out of her hand. It’s an impressive feat for an artist who only released their debut album Att. a week ago, but her take on Latin trap is purpose-built for afternoons like these in the sunshine.

The Japanese House take two

The Japanese House are back out on stage. “We did it, hello!” smiles Amber Bain, seemingly triumphant after battling technical gremlins. She rolls through a pulsing version of “Sad To Breate”, but she’s clearly still having trouble hearing her own vocals, guitar or much of anything else. “This must be fun for you guys, watching a group of musicians totally s***ting themselves?” she apologises, but the truth is next tune “Touching Yourself” sounds magical. Just a shame she can’t hear it!

The Japanese House delayed by technical issues

The Japanese House take the stage a mere 10 minutes later than scheduled, but it’s a false dawn. After announcing that her band are experiencing technical difficulties, Amber Bain leads them back off stage again until things can be fixed...

Welcome to Coachella 2024!

The Friday afternoon of Coachella is already well underway, with Australian DJ Mall Grab just wrapping up his loved-up set on the festival’s Mojave Stage. Concerned fans of The Japanese House may note that he was scheduled to finish 25 minutes ago, so we may see some delay in the English indie pop favourite taking the stage...

Elsewhere, excitement is of course building for Lana Del Rey’s headline set tonight, and for the appearance of K-pop band Ateez, whose dedicated fans have already made sure they’re in prime position for tonight’s set on the Sahara Stage:

‘why wild horses couldn’t drag me back to coachella'.

Coachella isn’t for everyone. Kevin EG Perry recounts his nightmare experience of Coachella 2022 here:

“It was the second rickshaw that did it. The winding, dusty trail that leads from the Coachella taxi drop-off to the festival site proper is so long and circuitous that cyclists ply their trade along the marathon route. A couple of years ago this week, after half a mile or so of hiking in the baking sun, I finally caved and agreed to Venmo a jock with thighs the size of Christmas hams half a week’s wages to pedal me towards the distant strains of music. Eventually, we came to a fence, then a gate, and beyond it… another crowd of cycle rickshaws.”

Why wild horses couldn’t drag me back to Coachella

Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce going to Coachella this year?

Hollywood’s favourite celebrity couple – Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce – could be attending an iconic event in California this month.

While nothing’s set in stone, the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star has revealed that he’s open to going to the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. During an interview with People , published on 3 April, he acknowledged that he’s attended the Indio-based festival multiple times over the years, and would be happy to have the opportunity to go again.

“I am a Coachella guy,” he said. “I love going to Coachella. I love live music in general. So you might see me pop up over there at some point.”

Coachella 2024: 5 things to do besides listen to music

It’s not just the packed lineup that attracts festival-goers to the desert city of Indio each year. In fact, Coachella 2024 will also include some must-see art installations, food and drink, and immersive experiences for ticket holders .

For Coachella attendees, it’s easy to get caught up in the rollercoaster that is rushing from one stage to the next in order to catch a glimpse of your favourite performer. But amidst the whirlwind of Instagram photo-ops and festival fashion, don’t forget to check out some of Coachella’s activities and alternative venues.

Coachella 2024 begins Friday 12 April until Sunday 14 April, followed by the second weekend on Friday 19 April to Sunday 21 April

How much does it cost to go to Coachella? The eye-watering all-in price

As those attending the 2024 festival can likely attest to, going to Coachella doesn’t necessarily come cheap. Some tickets range from the hefty price of $499 to $1,000. There are also other finances that some attendees have to consider, beyond just the cost of admission. Many fans often pay for transportation to California for the weekend, whether it’s a drive to the desert or a plane to Los Angeles. Some people also pay for hotels during the festival, along with food and drinks throughout the day.

Here’s a rundown of how much it approximately costs to attend the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

From surplus of sunscreen to comfy shoes: Here’s how to survive Coachella 2024

Music lovers and influencers alike are descending upon the California desert to join in on the annual revelry and chaos that takes place at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

This year, the first weekend of the 2024 Coachella festival begins on Friday 12 April until Sunday 14 April, followed by its second weekend on Friday 19 April to Sunday 21 April. Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, and Doja Cat will headline both weekends, along with performances from Gwen Stefani’s reformed ska punk band No Doubt , rapper Ice Spice, and Mexican artist Peso Pluma.

As someone who has been there and done that , there are certain must-haves and things to avoid that I certainly would’ve benefited from knowing as a first-timer and not-so-seasoned festival attendee. First and foremost, whatever you’re wearing truly doesn’t matter. You will most likely give up on looking somewhat chic by day three, and may resort to wearing an ill-fitting band tee and cutoffs and call it a day...

Surplus of sunscreen and comfy shoes: Here’s how to survive Coachella 2024

Suki Waterhouse shares ironic Coachella video featuring 'topless Robert Pattinson'

Good luck spotting our roving reporter kevin e g perry at this year’s festival.

If you want something amusing to remind you why you’re better off at home, my colleague Kevin has revisited his painful past and written about the time we sent him to Coachella. Suffice to say, he didn’t have the best of time. It was, in fact, the worst of times:

Get ready for the flood of influencers... and maybe some music, too

Coachella, renowned for attracting celebrities and influencers from across the world, will also see Friday performances from Mexican singer Peso Pluma, South Korean DJ and singer Peggy Gou and US star Sabrina Carpenter – who has just finished opening for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.

British musical stars descending on the desert also include British DJ duo Anti Up and Gorgon City, MC and rapper Skepta, and indie pop star The Japanese House, real name Amber Bain.

Daisy Jones & The Six star Suki Waterhouse, who recently gave birth to her first child with Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, is also billed to perform at the festival on Friday.

The British actor, model and singer confirmed she had given birth earlier this month by sharing a sun-kissed Polaroid of her cradling her child, who was wrapped in a blanket adorned with love hearts.

She later described having her first child as a “humbling” experience.

The return of Coachella comes after it ran into problems with headline acts over the last two years.

Last year, Frank Ocean pulled out of his second headline performance because of a leg injury, while Kanye West, also known as Ye, was due to headline in 2022 but the line-up was updated weeks before the event.

Gwen Stefani teases No Doubt's Coachella appearance with behind-the-scenes rehearsal

Coachella 2024 begins.

Lana Del Rey will return to Coachella music festival to kick off headline performances across the first weekend of the performing arts event.

The Californian festival takes place over two weekends from 12-14 April and 19-21 April, and will feature other headline performances from Tyler, The Creator; Doja Cat; and a No Doubt reunion with Gwen Stefani.

US singer Del Rey, who rose to fame in 2012 with Born To Die, will headline the Friday slot at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, having last appeared at the festival during her debut in 2014.

The Summertime Sadness star was scheduled to feature in the 2020 line-up, which was cancelled amid the Covid pandemic.

The 38-year-old hit the headlines last year after she arrived late for her performance at the BST Hyde Park festival in London, just weeks after her microphone was cut off at Glastonbury when her set overran because of her late arrival.

Taste of the Masters: Bringing Augusta National's food experience to patrons at home

Change Text Size

From start to finish, the Masters Tournament has an identity all its own. Whether it’s the drive up Magnolia Lane or the green jacket donned by the victor, the Masters is known for a multitude of things: azaleas in full bloom in early spring, Rae’s Creek, Butler Cabin and the quintessential selection of food and drinks enjoyed exclusively by patrons in attendance. Or rather, that used to be the case.

Insert "Taste of the Masters," a food and beverage initiative spearheaded by Augusta National in 2020 when the tournament took place at a non-traditional time, in November, with no patrons on-site due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic challenged the sports and entertainment industry to adjust and adapt, and the Masters was no different. It began with a simple question from the team at Augusta National: What are some ways to help bring the experience to fans and make this a memorable tournament?

Aside from opening an online patron shop that allowed ticketed patrons to purchase Masters merchandise from home (the Masters only sells official Masters merchandise on the grounds at Augusta National), the team also came up with the idea of selling Masters food and drink kits to those ticketed patrons, which they dubbed "Taste of the Masters."

The club and hospitality team spearheaded this initiative by identifying the items that represented the Masters best. Without hesitation, the answer was obvious: pimento cheese.

There may be no other concession item in sports that holds the weight or reputation of Augusta National’s pimento cheese sandwiches. With the perfect amount of spice paired with cheesy creaminess and jammed between two pieces of fresh white bread, the pimento cheese sandwich has been a staple on the menu board at Augusta since the 1950s.

Beyond pimento cheese, the team knew they needed to fill the kits with other options to satisfy the appetites of all who planned to enjoy the meals from home. Pork bar-b-que and egg salad were added as entree options, as were sides including Augusta’s signature chocolate chip cookies and potato chips.

When tasked with the challenge of replicating the on-site experience, however, a final few pieces were vital. While the food offerings satisfied the taste aspect, to really give it that Masters feel they added authentic plastic Masters cups and sheets of the iconic Masters checkerboard serving paper.

The "Taste of the Masters" was such a hit that the team brought it back for the 2021 Masters, which featured partial patron attendance. The kits were now available to everyone, not just ticketed patrons, and sold out even faster.

And that was a wrap on the kits, or so the team thought.

The kits were discontinued in 2022, as patrons on-site could once again enjoy the full offerings while strolling the grounds. But overwhelming fan feedback suggested that the kits were missed.

Georgia Pecan Caramel Popcorn. (Courtesy of the Masters Tournament)

The team was not expecting "Taste of the Masters" to become a fan staple, but as folks expressed how important it was to have the kits, using them to create or enhance their traditions around watching the tournament together, it became clear it had. Augusta National recognized the opportunity for people to recreate the patron experience at home, and so, "Taste of the Masters" returned in 2023.

For 2024, the Augusta National team continued to look at ways to evolve and perfect the project. One enhancement for this year: Fans have had a say in what's included thanks to their feedback. Bar-b-que potato chips, Georgia pecan caramel popcorn and Masters coasters are included in the kit, with the popcorn’s inclusion a direct result of fan feedback. The team even added a smaller tasting kit as an option this year, also a direct result of fan feedback, which also includes fun accessories like food item placards and miniature Masters flag toothpicks to hold sandwiches together.

For Augusta National, the kits are yet another opportunity to go above and beyond for fans across the country while also paying homage to the tournament's roots in Augusta, Georgia. The food and beverage experience is part of Masters history, which started with the vision of Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, who believed that food was key to the Masters’ evolution as an elite sporting experience for patrons. The two tournament pioneers wanted the menu to reflect a southern-style picnic, with sandwiches as an easy option that locals could create in their homes and bring to the course for the patrons.

The menu has come a long way since the Masters inception in 1934, with the Taste of the Masters as simply the next step in its evolution. What originally started as an almost regional, exclusive offering for ticketed fans in 2020 has now grown to a nationwide fan favorite in households across the country. As for whether the Masters pimento cheese sandwich has made its way to all 50 states, it’s hard to say, but 2024 is the first year where shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is available. And why stop there? Fan interest north of the border suggests that "Taste of the Masters" could be headed to Canada as well.

While nothing is guaranteed, "Taste of the Masters" looks to be around for the long haul.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
