Total Drama World Tour is a Canadian animated television show that aired on Cartoon Network in 2010. It is the third season of the Total Drama franchise, and it follows a group of contestants as they compete in various challenges and travel around the world. Total Drama World Tour (originally titled Total Drama: The Musical ) is the third season of Total Drama .

Overview [ ]

Fifteen previous contestants and three new comers compete in challenges all around the world . However, this season, when Chris rings a bell, the contestants must break into song. If they don't, they are automatically eliminated. By the rules, contestants must sing once in each episode, and Chris may call a "reprise" of the song. Contestants safe from elimination are awarded barf bags full of airline-issued peanuts, continuing the tradition of edible safety items. When a contestant is eliminated , they must take the Drop of Shame voluntarily or someone will have to force them off of the plane .

Summary [ ]

During the events of Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special , all of the contestants from the first two seasons went to great lengths to prevent being labeled as "has-beens," and being replaced by Chris ' new reality concept: Total Drama Dirtbags . Ultimately, after proving themselves through nearly catastrophic means, Chris rescues a g r o u p o f f i f t e e n (as well as two new faces) to join him on a journey around the world in the third season. Traveling around on the Total Drama Jumbo Jet , the cast participates in new challenges in various countries on six continents with all new drama and challenges awaiting them. Split into three separate teams after the first challenge, the teams work to achieve immunity, as well as first-class to their next destination. The losing team is then forced to attend a ceremony, where one member is forced to take the Drop of Shame from the plane to wherever they land. The lucky contestant who outlasts the rest of the contestants wins $1,000,000 .

Elimination [ ]

This is the process in Total Drama World Tour in which a contestant is eliminated; initially, the team that lost the most recent challenge, unless the last challenge happened to be a reward challenge, would vote for a contestant and the one with the most votes against them would be voted off. Since the teams eventually merged, all the contestants began to vote for each other and only the challenge winner received immunity. In the case of a tie bre aker , the two cont est ants would have to face off until one was eliminated. However, in a special case , both contestants were eliminated due to budget cuts.

Characters [ ]

Eighteen contestants, plus the host, Chris , and Chef Hatchet , the camp's cook and the co-host of the show.

• This makes Total Drama World Tour the second of three seasons to have had it's name changed, the first being Camp TV being changed to Total Drama Island , and the third being Total Drama Reloaded being changed to Total Drama: Revenge of the Island .
• Unlike Total Drama Action, none of them debuted later into the competition, although Beth almost did.
• However, Ezekiel , Izzy , Leshawna , Lindsay , Harold , Bridgette , DJ , Gwen , Duncan , and Owen did not.
• Owen and Gwen were the finalists of Total Drama Island, so it was impossible for them to get farther.
• However, Izzy , Courtney , Leshawna , Lindsay , Harold , Duncan , and Owen did not.
• Duncan was a finalist on Total Drama Action, so it was impossible for him to get farther.
• All of the males who competed on Total Drama Island, but not Total Drama Action, were eliminated in the same order as before. Ezekiel was eliminated first , followed by Noah, then Tyler, and finally Cody.
• This is the first, and currently the only, season to have an adult competing in the competition.
• Unlike the previous two seasons, the team names do not have "Screaming" and "Killer" in them.
• This is the first time that the teams have an uneven amount of players at the start of the season. Team Amazon and Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot had five, and Team Victory had six.
• This is also the first season where the winner is not the same in both Canada and the United States.
• Leshawna is the first contestant to use the lavatory confessional, as well as the very first confessional overall, and Heather is the first contestant to use the Jet's cockpit confessional and both confessionals.
• Izzy is the only contestant to never be seen in the confessional this season.
• This is the only season not to feature the main confessional in the end credits.
• However, no one is actually eliminated by this rule, and many people get away with not singing throughout the season.
• This makes Canada the most-visited country throughout the season, tying with the United States.
• In addition, this is the first season in which Izzy does not return after being eliminated.
• Coincidentally, both instances involved Courtney .
• This is the first season to feature "fake eliminations," in which Chris has all members of the losing team vote like they regularly would, then reveal the result, but not actually count that person as eliminated.
• This is the first season to feature an odd amount of contestants competing from the start, as Total Drama Island had twenty two contestants, and Total Drama Action started with fourteen contestants.
• This is the first season in which someone had to leave because of medical problems.
• This is the first season in which neither Owen nor Duncan makes it to the final four.
• This is the first season in which DJ actually appears in the bottom two of an elimination ceremony.
• This is the first season in which a previously eliminated contestant is brought back into the game without being an actual contestant. In this case, Ezekiel was brought back to aid in challenges in I See London... and African Lying Safari .
• In addition, counting Heather's ending , this season featured two same sex double eliminations, being the only season to do so.
• Team Amazon was the only team to never have a single member be regularly voted out.
• This season features the latest merge of a season, with the merge happening in the nineteenth episode .
• Both shows begin with th re e te am s .
• There are eighteen contestants competing in both shows though, Total Drama World Tour started out with seventeen contestants.
• A former win ner is eliminated first, though in Total Drama World Tour, Duncan returns.
• The yellow team is very weak and wins very few challenges.
• The yellow team is nonexistent before the teams merge. In Survivor , they got absorbed, while in World Tour, they were completely taken out.
• The final two is comprised of two members of a relationship .
• This is one of only two seasons to have its main promotional image be a moment from an actual episode , the other being Total Drama Island.
• This is the only season directed by Jennifer Pertsch and Tom McGillis.
• This season marks the second time where the winner didn't get his money, the first one was Total Drama Island.

Away from the local elections for a moment, we have some breaking news about the Rwanda deportation scheme.

As you'll know, it finally passed through parliament and received Royal Assent last month.

Rishi Sunak has pledged to get flights off the ground in the next 10 weeks or so - but there may be a blip on that front.

The FDA trade union, that represents civil servants, launched a legal challenge to the scheme amid concerns that ministers will order them to ignore adverse court rulings from the European court, which would be in breach of the civil service code.

In the last few minutes, the High Court has ruled that the union's legal challenge can proceed.

It will be heard in the first week of June - well before the government's stated timeframe for getting the first flight off the ground.

Rishi Sunak is in Teesside where he is addressing a rally alongside the re-election mayor, Lord Ben Houchen.

The mayor speaks first, saying he is "relieved" and "humbled to be elected to a third term.

He says he will be able to "continue with the progress that we've made over the last seven years", saying having "four more years to implement that plan is absolutely wonderful".

Lord Houchen then does what he didn't do during his victory speech at the count and praises Rishi Sunak, saying they would not have been as successful in recent years without him.

The PM is next to speak, saying: "The Labour Party threw absolutely everything at this election - Keir Starmer came here twice, Rachel Reeves came here three times, but even they couldn't dislodge Ben and the fantastic Conservative team."

He accuses Labour of having thrown "a lot of mud" in the election because "they were angry that Ben has delivered more for this region than the Labour Party managed in 30 years".

He says voters have stuck with the Tories because they have been "delivering" in the region, and adds: "I know that, come the general election, they're going to stick with us too."

Rishi Sunak is appearing now in Teesside after the Tories held the Tees Valley mayoralty.

He is speaking alongside the now third term mayor, Lord Ben Houchen.

Labour has comfortably held Rochdale council, losing just one seat of the 15 it was defending.

An independent councillor lost their seat too.

Both of those seats were won by the insurgent George Galloway's Workers Party.

The Labour Party has won the York and North Yorkshire mayoral race - which covers Rishi Sunak's constituency of Richmond.

The full result is:

• David Skaith (Lab): 66,761 (35.1%)
• Keane Duncan (Con): 51,967 (27.3%)
• Felicity Cunliffe-Lister (Lib Dem): 30,867 (16.2%)
• Kevin Foster (Green): 15,188 (8%)
• Other 25,620 (13.5%)

A party spokesperson said in a statement that it is a "truly historic result".

"Keir Starmer's Labour Party is now winning in Rishi Sunak's backyard," they went on.

"The prime minister's own constituents have taken a look at the two parties and chosen Labour."

Labour's Kim McGuinness has won the North East mayoralty, becoming the region's first ever mayor.

She has defeated Jamie Driscoll, the North of Tyne mayor who was blocked from standing for the North East mayoralty by the Labour Party, and subsequently resigned from the party and ran as an independent.

The result in full is:

• Kim McGuinness (Lab): 185,051 (41.3%)
• Jamie Driscoll (Ind): 126,652 (28.2%)
• Guy Renner-Thompson (Con): 52,446 (11.7%)
• Paul Donaghy: (Reform) 41,147 (9.2%)
• Other: 43,116 votes (9.6%)

Sky News analysis shows that the Labour Party has won Hyndburn council from no overall control.

18 seats are needed for a majority on the council.

Labour and the Tories held 16 seats each, and both parties were defending six seats.

We can confirm that Labour has done enough to get over the threshold to gain control of the council - and we will bring you the final numbers as soon as they are declared.

Meanwhile, Labour is also claiming that it has won control of  Milton Keynes  council from no overall control.

They needed a gain of just two seats to win control, and they think they have achieved that.

If that is confirmed, it would be a seismic win, having last held a majority in 2000.

Burnley and West Oxfordshire councils have both remained out of reach for any one political party.

Labour gained a solitary seat on the former and has the most with 15.

The Lib Dems comfortably lead the way in West Oxfordshire.

The Tories lost five seats there, which were split between the Lib Dems, Labour, and the Greens.

Labour's Chris Webb, the UK's newest MP, describes himself as "Blackpool born and bred". 

The 38-year-old charity worker begins his parliamentary career with a substantial majority, taking 10,825 votes in the Blackpool South by-election.  

The Conservatives, who previously held the seat, trailed far behind with just 3,218.

Mr Webb is the son of a postman and a teaching assistant and has said he "followed in their footsteps" into public sector work.

He joined a picket line aged two when his father was on strike, joined his first trade union at 19, and has been a Labour Party member for more than 20 years.

Mr Webb lives in Blackpool South with his wife Portia and baby Cillian - who were both there to support him as the results were announced.

He has previous political experience as a councillor on Manchester City Council between 2015 and 2018.

In addition, he was deputy police and crime commissioner for Lancashire from 2018 to 2021.

He chairs a mental health charity in Blackpool - Counselling in the Community - and has raised money to feed children affected by cuts to free school meals.

In 2021, he received a Local Hero Award for his charity work during the pandemic.

'Lifelong Conservatives voted for me'

Mr Webb's priority in parliament will be the cost of living crisis, he told Sky News following his victory, saying it had "damaged so many people here in Blackpool South [and] people are struggling to make ends meet".

People are "fed up" and "want change", he added.

The new MP said: "Lifelong Conservatives voted for me in this election - and Labour - because they want that change.

"So many people are crying out for a Labour government. Rishi Sunak needs to admit he's failed and call a general election."

Speaking to a crowd of campaigners on Friday morning he said "we absolutely smashed it" - with every polling district in Blackpool "turning red".

He added: "They want Labour, they want Keir in Number 10, they want a Labour government."

The foreign secretary has described Rishi Sunak as a "man with a plan" and insisted that disappointing local election results for the Conservatives will not automatically translate into defeat in the coming general election.

Lord Cameron told Sky News he had experienced that for himself in the run up to the Tories' general election victory in 2015.

At 1pm on Friday, his party had lost 145 council seats in England, while Labour had gained 62. 

Speaking to Sky News in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, he said the prime minister "doesn't need my advice".

That is because Mr Sunak has a "plan that is getting the economy growing, getting inflation falling, getting taxes coming down and investing in our security", the former prime minister added.

Local elections often give governments "tough results", he said, but what matters is to "stick with the plan".

He commented: "As I showed in 2015, you can have bad local election results and go on and win a general election.

"Ultimately a general election is a choice and we are putting the clearest possible choice in front of the British people: a man with a plan that is growing the economy and protecting our country, versus a bunch of people who have no plan whatsoever."
