FedEx Cup Playoffs: Tour Championship starting positions for all 30 golfers
The Tour Championship, the finale of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, begins this week in Atlanta. Here are the starting positions for all 30 players.
Getty Images
The PGA Tour season, at long last, is coming to a close. All that’s left is the FedEx Cup Playoffs finale in the Tour Championship, where (wait for it) $75 million will be up for grabs.
So, how does it all work? We’re glad you asked. We could all use a refresher.
The Tour Championship uses a stroke-based bonus system based on the current FedEx Cup standings , meaning not everyone enters the tournament on the same playing field.
This has been the formula for the past four years, as the Tour changed the format beginning in 2019. The old format crowned a Tour Championship winner and a FedEx Cup Playoffs champion (although sometimes it was the same person), and keeping track of essentially two different tournaments — for players and fans — was, well, confusing.
So now there’s just one champion, who, along with winning the Tour Championship, will also be the FedEx Cup Playoffs champ.
The leader of the FedEx Cup points race starts the Tour Championship, held at East Lake in Atlanta, at 10 under. The top five in the standings is staggered (2nd at eight under, 3rd at seven under, 4th at six under and 5th at five under), and the last 25 players in the field are more bunched (i.e. places 6-10 start at four under, and so on).
Here’s where everyone will start for the playoffs.
Tour Championship starting scores
10 under: Scottie Scheffler Eight under: Viktor Hovland Seven under: Rory McIlroy Six under: Jon Rahm Five under: Lucas Glover Four under: Max Homa, Patrick Cantlay, Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick Three under: Tommy Fleetwood, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele Two under: Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Tony Finau, Corey Conners, Si Woo Kim One under: Taylor Moore, Nick Taylor, Adam Schenk, Collin Morikawa, Jason Day Even: Sam Burns, Emiliano Grillo, Tyrrell Hatton, Jordan Spieth, Sepp Straka
Max Homa’s heckler incident illustrated risky future for PGA Tour, gambling
But just because Scheffler has a two-stroke lead over second place — and a much larger lead over others — doesn’t mean he’s bound to run away with this.
Take last year, for example, when Scheffler held the same spot on the leaderboard but was eventually beaten by Rory McIlroy, who started the tournament six shots back and even rebounded from a triple bogey on his first hole of the week to win the whole thing.
You can follow the action from 1-6 p.m. ET on Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s broadcast is 1-3 p.m. on Golf Channel and 3-7 p.m. on CBS, and Sunday’s final round is 12-1:30 p.m. on Golf Channel and 1:30-6 p.m. on CBS.

Tour Championship Leaderboard And Final Round Live Updates - Hovland Wins FedEx Cup by Five Shots Over Schauffele
The 2022/23 PGA Tour season comes to a conclusion this evening at East Lake. Who will lift the FedEx Cup and take the $18m bonus?
- Sign up to Golf Monthly Newsletter Newsletter
Viktor Hovland fought off a spirited fightback from Xander Schauffele to claim back-to-back victories and the FedEx Cup with a five-shot victory at the Tour Championship.
Starting the day six shots ahead, Hovland started fast, making four birdies in his first six holes either side of a rain delay but was unable to shake off the challenge of Schauffele.
The American, who has never finished below seventh in his six appearances so far at East Lake, also made four birdies in his first six holes and continued to battle away, at one point reducing Hovland's lead down to just three after three birdies in five holes around the turn.
As the rest of the field was left behind, the final pairing offered up something of a prelude for next month's Ryder Cup over the back nine, going blow for blow over the final holes.
The turning point would arrive on the 14th, where Hovland responded from a poor chip to drain a crucial par putt and retain his three-shot advantage. From there, the 25-year-old found three birdies in his final three holes to finish on -27, securing back-to-back wins alongside the $18m winner cheque.
After Schauffele on -22, Wyndham Clark was the next best back at -16. Solid final rounds from Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay saw the pair round out the top five at -14 and -13 respectively. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler finished at T6 on -11.

Updates from:
Hello and welcome to Golf Monthly's live coverage of the final round of the Tour Championship. After a stellar round on Saturday, the tournament is really Viktor Hovland's to lose. Fresh of his victory last week, the Norwegian has a six-shot advantage at East Lake heading into the final round.
It will take something special from the chasing pack to stop him. Will that happen? Tune in to find out...
FINAL ROUND TEE TIMES
We've got a few early starters out on the course, but here's a look at when the big contenders get underway for their final round.

- 1.29pm (6.29pm) - Keegan Bradley, Collin Morikawa
- 1.40pm (6.40pm) - Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele
DIFFICULT EARLY SCORING
Scoring was tricky yesterday and the early signs from those already on the course is that we could be in for similarly tricky scorings.
14 players are out on the course but just two are under par currently for their rounds...
IS XANDER THE MAN TO CHASE DOWN HOVLAND?
If you could have picked someone charged with catching Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele may just be that person.
The American has five top-ten finishes and one victory at this course in his six appearances at the tournament. As well as that, he's yet to shoot over par at East Lake.
Could he cause a shock here today? A reminder that Scottie Scheffler led by this exact amount heading into the final round last year...and ended up falling short to an electric round from Rory McIlroy.
BIG PAYDAY FOR THE WINNER
It's the biggest purse on the PGA Tour, so here's a quick reminder of the eye-watering sums of money that the top-ten players are set to take home today:
- 1 - $18,000,000
- 2 - $6,500,000
- 3 - $5,000,000
- 4 - $4,000,000
- 5 - $3,000,000
- 6 - $2,500,000
- 7 - $2,000,000
- 8 - $1,500,000
- 9 - $1,250,000
- 10 - $1,000,000
RYDER CUP PICKS TO PLAY FOR
Another strand to today's action is next month's Ryder Cup. Two names in the top five, in particular, will be looking to force the hand of US Captain Zach Johnson ahead of Marco Simone.
Collin Morikawa looks likely to get a captain's pick already but he'll be after one more big round just to make that sure.
The other is Keegan Bradley who it feels like is on the outside looking in at the minute. He's already won twice this season but may well need a big final-round showing at East Lake to make the case to Johnson for one of those six picks.
RORY MCILROY UNDERWAY
He's been struggling with a back injury all week has Rory and currently sits 11 shots back of the lead. He pulled off something magnificent this time last year but 11 shots feels even beyond his best.
He gets underway with Adam Schenk, finding the right rough with his first tee shot.
EARLY BOGEY FOR RORY
The Northern Irishman is blocked off by trees after his opening drive and can't reach the green in two. From the fairway he can't get up and down to save his par and he drops back to -8.
It's a lovely birdie, though, for his playing partner Schenk who moves into solo eighth at -10. What a season he is putting together.
GLOVER AND HOMA INTO THE TOP TEN
A nice start for the American duo early into their final rounds. Two birdies for Glover, one for Max and the pair are both at T9 on -9.
OPENING BIRDIE FOR SCHEFFLER
Where was any of that yesterday, Scottie? The World No.1 was birdie-shy almost the entirety of Saturday but gets underway at the first on Sunday with a lovely iron approach.
He's got ten feet for birdie and this time makes no mistake. Up to -12 but plenty of work still to do.
SCHENK HOLES OUT FROM THE FAIRWAY
Wow! What a start from Adam Schenk. It's rare that Rory McIlroy is overshadowed in a pairing but it's happening right now.
A birdie on the first is met by eagle on the third as he holes out from 137 yards on the fairway. Up to -12 and into a share of fifth for him.
He's still yet to win on the PGA Tour and that's probably unlikely to change today, but his breakthrough season continues to go from strength to strength.
6 years ago today, Adam received his PGA Tour card. Today, he is playing in the final round of the Tour Championship. I have a slew of words to share but I’ll spare you all: I’m wearing waterproof mascara today. pic.twitter.com/QuMdBmcJN7 August 27, 2023
LEADER UNDERWAY
A bit of drama before he starts as Viktor Hovland and his caddie appear to take a wrong turn and have to lightly jog to make the first tee on time.
All's well that ends well, though, as he finds the fairway with his drive. Schauffele, too, finds the short stuff as he looks to chase down the Norwegian.
EARLY BIRDIES FLOWING
Well, I thought it might be similar to yesterday conditions-wise but perhaps not. Scheffler rolls in another birdie - his second of the round - to get to -13 and he's joined there by Adam Schenk whose marvellous front nine gets even better with a 31-foot birdie to move four under thru four.
Morikawa gets off and running with birdie at the first to move to -14 but Keegan Bradley doesn't appear to have got the memo as he makes an opening-hole bogey to drop back to -12.
HOVLAND MAKES AN EARLY MOVE
Just relentless golf from Viktor Hovland who pours in a 15-footer on the first for a birdie to move to -21. He's going to be difficult to catch if he keeps making birdies look as easy as that.
But credit to Schauffele. A beauty of an iron into the green for the American who also makes birdie to keep some sort of pressure on the leader. Up to -15 for him.
PLAY SUSPENDED
Well, not the news we were hoping for. Just as we were getting started, play has been suspended due to "inclement weather." Looks like storms are projected in the area but hopefully East Lake can avoid the worst of it.
The final round of the TOUR Championship was suspended at 1:57 p.m. ET due to inclement weather. August 27, 2023
Some thunder being picked up by the TV cameras. It looks like this delay could be a bit lengthier than anyone initially anticipated.
Anyway, lets take the opportunity to look back on what golf we have seen so far today and the story right now is Adam Schenk. Five holes, three birdies, one eagle. Not bad.
Here's a look at that eagle - a hole-out from the fairway:
A post shared by PGA TOUR (@pgatour) A photo posted by on
RAIN BEGINNING TO CLEAR
No news as of yet regards a restart but signs the rain and clouds appear to be slowing moving away from East Lake.
There's not a lot of wind out on the course so it may take it's time but hopefully we aren't too far away from getting the golfers back on the course.
OVER IN EUROPE...
A few signs of fans but still no signs of players so lets take another look back at some other action from today which happened in Europe at the Czech Masters on the DP World Tour.
If today is a big day for the likes of Bradley and Morikawa to force their way into a US captain's pick for the Ryder Cup, then it was no different over in Prague.
A host of big names such as Ludvig Aberg, Nicolai Hojgaard, Adrian Meronk, Yannik Paul and Bob MacIntyre were in contention as they looked to make their case to Luke Donald for a captain's pick onto Team Europe.
Click here to find out how they got on.
PLAY TO RESUME AT 15:50 ET (20:50 BST)
Finally some good news and a time for the resumption of play. Given the length of the delay, the players are being allowed some time on the range first but it looks like we are looking at a 3:50pm ET restart.
For the folks in the UK, that's 20:50pm so just over half an hour away.
Update from Atlanta: the range is opening at 3:15 and play expected to resume at 3:50 pm ET. August 27, 2023
PLAY TO RESUME - HOVLAND LEADS BY SIX
We're about 15 minutes away from play resuming so a small reminder of how things stand:
Hovland remains six shots ahead on -21 after a first-hole birdie but faces a putt to save his par on the second. His closest chaser, Schauffele, also made birdie on the first and has a look at birdie on 2 to move up to -15.
Further back on -14 is Morikawa, while Schenk and Scheffler have each started excellently with the pair sat on -13 and -4 and -2 for their final rounds respectively so far.
PLAY BACK UNDERWAY
The horn goes and we're back just under two hours later!
A big putt first up for Hovland to save his par on the second...right in the heart of it. No signs of rust from the Norwegian after the time waiting around. Schauffele pushes his birdie putt right off the hole and walks of for a par.
There was a chance of a two-shot swing there but, in the end, it all remains the same. Hovland leads by six.
CLOSE SHAVE FOR SCHEFFLER
Scottie was getting hot before the weather interval and his iron's are dialled right out the gates with a nice approach into the fifth. From ten feet, though, he can't convert and he remains eight back at -13.
SCHAUFFELE CUTS LEAD TO FIVE
He just loves this course, does Xander. Another sterling iron into the third green gives him a look at birdie and the American makes no mistake.
He's up to -16 and now just five back of Hovland after he misses his look at birdie. No cause for concern...yet.
SCHENK INTO THE TOP THREE
Not even the near two-hour rain delay has dampened Adam Schenk's spirits today as his magical front nine just keeps getting better. Another birdie pours into the hole at 6 and he's now -5 for his round, 14-under-par for the tournament and into a tie for third!
BIRDIES FOR HOVLAND AND SCHAUFFELE
The rain from earlier may have made these greens slightly more receptive, and the final pair are putting that two the test. Schauffele's approach into the fourth is great. Hovland's is even better, almost threatening to slam dunk into the hole.
It's two relatively short birdie efforts...and they both convert. We started the day with a few in contention but this is fast becoming a two horse race - Schauffele hunting down Hovland.
Elsewhere, there is a bogey for Morikawa who drops back to -13 and leaves Schenk in solo third. That's a tasty payday if he can stay there.
KEEGAN BRADLEY DROPS BACK
Not the round the American would have wanted to put together today. His second bogey of the day on the front nine and he's now two-over-par for his round and back at -11.
MORE PUTTING WOES FOR SCHEFFLER
A couple of missed opportunities early in the round for the American and he's now in trouble on the seventh with his ball running through to the back of the green. It's a tricky two-putt but that becomes all the more difficult when the World No.1's first effort comes up way short before drifting down the slope and away from the hole.
In the end, it's a three-putt bogey and he's now ten back of Hovland at -12.
HOVLAND RESTORES SIX SHOT LEAD
It's difficult to put into words the level of ball striking Hovland is displaying right now. The greens are receptive, sure, but, he's got another great look at birdie after a sumptuous iron into the fifth.
No problem for the Norwegian, who rolls it in for back-to-back birdies to get to -23.
And the pressure tells on Schauffele who misses his birdie putt just prior. He's been great so far today as well but he's back to how he started the day - six back of the leader.
PLENTY FALLING BY THE WAYSIDE
This truly has become a two-horse race now. A bogey for Rahm after finding the greenside bunker. A bogey for Morikawa after a short miss. And a bogey, too, for Schenk after a clumsy three putts.
Schauffele the only one standing, trying to chase down Hovland.
DOUBLE BOGEY FOR SCHEFFLER
Well Scottie wasn't likely to win today but he's now just losing money quickly on these greens.
The first putt on the eighth is tricky - slow at first before picking up speed - and Scheffler races it by. The par putt is missed...and so is the even shorter bogey putt. Double-bogey six and the World No. 10 is back to -10 where he started the tournament.
MORE BIRDIES FOR HOVLAND AND SCHAUFFELE
The two players in the final group find the exact same greenside bunker left of the green with their approaches in.
The rain we've had earlier in the day makes this a far less intimidating proposition for these two on the par-five sixth and they make no mistake, up and down for a pair of birdies and on they go, storming further ahead of the field.
BOGEYS FOR SCHENK AND RAHM
Schauffele and Hovland look like they are playing a different course at the minute as more players drop shots around them. Rahm gets himself in trouble off the tee and can only hack out of the fairway bunker. In the end, he does well to just drop one shot.
Schenk, too, drops one as he makes the turn after another three putt on the tenth.
SCHAUFFELE BACK WITHIN FIVE
Everyone else has vacated from the chase but Xander Schauffele is going nowhere. An aggressive tee shot allows him a wedge into the green and he makes no mistake with the birdie putt. He's -5 thru eight holes and up to -19.
Hovland taps in for his part to remain at -24, but his lead now drops back to five.
MORIKAWA MAKES THE TURN WITH BIRDIE
He's no longer fighting for the overall title, but there's plenty of money on offer for any of the players that can make a move up the leaderboard. After a quiet few holes, Morikawa bounces back with birdie on the par-three ninth to move alongside Clark on -13.
And he's joined back on 13-under-par by Adam Schenk who pours in another birdie from over 20 feet. He's back into a tie for third.
HOVLAND SAVES PAR AS FINAL PAIR MAKE THE TURN
Plenty of work to do for Hovland as his tee shot into the ninth comes up right at the bottom of a huge slope. It's 50ft long but with about 40ft worth of left-to-right break.
The Norwegian gives it a good go but his effort comes up just short. It's a slightly testy downhiller for par...but he makes no mistake. Schauffele gives his putt a great roll but it just evades the hole. A great effort but the lead remains at five for Hovland.
CLARK MAKING A MOVE
He wasn't particularly in contention at the start of the day but a three-under-par round has this year's US Open champion up into solo third at -14.
That could be worth a few dollars if he can stay there come the end of play.
DOUBLE BOGEY FOR SCHENK
Oooh, that's not ideal. Adam Schenk goes from bunker to bunker on the 14th before a costly three-putt leaves him with a double-bogey six! From a tie for fourth down into seventh at -11 for the American.
SCHAUFFELE CUTS LEAD TO FOUR
Xander is running out of holes but by no means giving up the chase. He hits a solid iron into the 11th but is under pressure as Hovland stuffs one in close.
No nerves from the American, though, as he gets the perfect roll on his right-to-left putt, sending it right into the heart of the cup for his eighth birdie of the day. He's up to -20 now.
Hovland with a chance to maintain his five-shot lead...but he can't. Perhaps the first signs of nerves from the Norwegian? Seven holes to go but his lead is now four.
RORY MAKING A MOVE
Even a bad back can't deter the Northern Irishman. He loves it here at East Lake and is finishing in style here on Sunday. A divine tee shot into the 15th brings him his third birdie in four holes and up to T4 at -13.
Schenk, his playing partner, bounces back nicely after that double bogey with a birdie, too, while Clark further improves his position in third with another birdie to get to -15.
BACK-TO-BACK BIRDIES FOR SCHAUFFELE, LEAD NOW JUST THREE
Hovland is in a small spot of bother off the 12th tee as his ball settles into the fairway bunker. Not to worry, he simply sticks it in close and gives himself another look at birdie.
Schauffele ramps up the pressure with another stellar iron into the green just inside Hovland's effort. And the pressure tells.
Hovland's effort goes by while Schauffele's putt drops for another birdie. In an instant, the hole is now three.
Some late drama perhaps?
BOGEYS FOR CLARK AND MCILROY
These two spent the final day at LACC battling it out for the US Open a few months back and they deservedly have their names right up at the top of the leaderboard after a pair of fine seasons.
They've both made nice moves today but now Clark and McIlroy falter somewhat with bogeys, moving them back to -14 and -12 respectively.
HOVLAND PAR KEEPS HIM THREE AHEAD
Problems off the tee for Schauffele who goes way left over the trees. He recovers nicely to make a par but it's advantage Hovland after he sticks one in close on 13.
It's a good roll...but just catches the lip and rolls by quite some distance! Not the tap-in he would have wanted but it's calmy negotiated by the Norwegian back up the slope to make par and remain three ahead.
We're supposed to still have a month until the Ryder Cup but this feels like a proper Sunday matchplay singles classic. Hovland 3UP with five to play.
BIRDIE FOR RORY, BOGEY FOR COLLIN
The two swap places with McIlroy moving into solo fourth after a bounce-back birdie on the penultimate hole. Morikawa, meanwhile, serves up a three-putt at just the wrong time to drop back to -12 and a tie for fifth alongside Cantlay.
Schenk was at -12 but he's now further back at -10 after his second double bogey in four holes at 17.
HUGE PAR SAVE FROM HOVLAND ON 14
The first real sign of emotion from Hovland all day as he lets out an almighty fist pump having saved par! His second shot came up short and the chip onto the green was poor, but the putt...nerveless.
He maintains his three-shot lead with Schauffele making par and that feels like a big moment in this closing stretch.
What a putt!Viktor Hovland comes up clutch to save par @TOURChamp 💪He leads by 3 with 4 to play. pic.twitter.com/LGGFxLRAUb August 27, 2023
DOUBLE BOGEY FOR MORIKAWA
The American isn't closing in style and a mistake out of the greenside bunker from the par-three 15th leads to a double bogey and three dropped shots in his last two holes.
Three-over-par today. Not his finest golf.
HOVLAND LEADS BY THREE WITH THREE TO PLAY
The par-three 15th next for the final pair and they both safely carry it beyond the flag to give themselves outside looks for birdie.
Hovland is further away, and it's a big right-to-lefter which he nurses down to the hole nicely. A solid par for him. Schauffele needs to be aggressive and try steal one here...but it's on the wrong line right from the start.
No harm with a par but he's only got three holes left now and still trails by three.
MCILROY IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Rory ends with a birdie on the par-five last to get up to -14 for the tournament and safely inside the top-five after a four-under-par 66. That's a great performance given the problems with his back that plagued his first two rounds.
A great end to another remarkably consistent season for him. His playing partner, Schenk misses out on a birdie and currently sits at T8 which also represents a fantastic season for the up-and-coming American.
Rory McIlroy: 10 consecutive top-10 finishes, the longest streak of his PGA Tour career August 27, 2023
HOVLAND MAKES BIRDIE TO GO FOUR AHEAD WITH TWO REMAINING
What a couple of holes from Viktor Hovland. A huge par save on the previous hole is followed by a superb iron shot into the 16th green to give him a great look at birdie.
Schauffele has a go for birdie before that but his effort comes up short and Hovland takes full advantage, rolling his 10-foot putt down the slope and into the cup for his first birdie of the back nine to move to -25.
He now leads by four with two left and that, should be that.
BACK-TO-BACK BIRDIES AS HOVLAND EXTENDS LEAD TO FIVE
Simply relentless. It looked at one stage that this might go right down to the wire.
Not any more.
Hovland rolls in another birdie on the 17th and now, he heads the 18th tee with almost the same size lead as he started the day with. Schauffele sees his effort roll past and he settles for a par.
He's played his part and made this final round a real test for the Norwegian, but the task was just too much and he's ran out of steam on these final holes.
UP THE LAST THEY GO...
Safely on the fairway for Hovland on the par-five 18th and he can now enjoy this final work. His work is done and he will surely be your 2023 FedEx Cup champion.
VIKTOR HOVLAND WINS THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP!
Schauffele second comes up short of the green but it's a lovely up and down to find yet another birdie. A final-round 62 is some achievement and he's pushed Hovland all the way today.
The Norwegian's second shot also comes up short, rolling back into the sand. Can he get up and down for a final birdie?
You bet he can. Remarkable golf from Hovland who himself shots a seven-under-par 63 to win the Tour Championship by five shots and claim the FedEx Cup for the first time!
Viktor Hovland is the 2023 #FedExCup champion! This win @TOURChamp is his third victory of the season 🏆 pic.twitter.com/GRuHFLzDqT August 27, 2023
Simply remarkable golf from Hovland today. We saw last year from Scottie Scheffler how tricky it can be to close out these tournaments but the Norwegian was simply faultless and refused to take a backwards step.
A lot of credit, too, must go to Xander Schauffele who continues his magnificent record here with a final-round 62. He fell five shots short in the end but it felt and was a lot closer than that for large parts of the final round.
THANKS FOR TUNING IN!
Well, what a way to end the season. I didn't expect as entertaining a final round as that but thanks to Schauffele and Hovland we were treated to a real thriller.
Thanks for tuning in, until next time!

PGA Tour Leaderboard: Top 30 positions heading into the Tour Championship
The Tour Championship is now upon us and we have the full line-up and their starting positions at East Lake for you.
So here we are. After the Northern Trust and the BMW Championship, we have now whittled the field down to just 30 players who will battle it out for the FedEx Cup at the Tour Championship.
The format of the Tour Championship will follow the staggered structure that first began in 2019, to ensure that the winner of the Tour Championship is also the winner of the FedEx Cup.

Tour Championship: 2024 draw, preview, schedule, results, how to watch
More in Main News:
The 2024 Johnstone’s Paint Tour Championship gets under way on Monday with a dozen of this season’s best players featuring in a high-profile draw.
It represents the second-last ranking event on the 2023/24 calendar, with just the World Snooker Championship to follow later in April.
Staged at the Manchester Central for the first time, only the top 12 competitors from the one-year rankings list have qualified.
Tour Championship prize money Champion: £150,000 Runner-up: £60,000 Semi-Finals: £40,000 Quarter-Finals: £30,000 Round of 12: £20,000 Highest break: £10,000
Who has won the Tour Championship?
Since 2019, the Tour Championship has been the culminating event in a series of three in which the lineups are determined by the one-year rankings.
Ronnie O’Sullivan prevailed in its inaugural staging before Stephen Maguire emerged victoriously in a delayed behind-closed-doors edition in 2020.
Neil Robertson subsequently won back-to-back Tour Championship titles, with Shaun Murphy most recently winning in Hull 12 months ago.
Murphy, Robertson, and Maguire have all failed to qualify this season – making O’Sullivan the only former champion in the 2024 Tour Championship draw.
Who is in the 2024 Tour Championship draw?
For the first time in the event’s history, the field has been increased from eight players to 12.
The reason for this is likely what materialised in 2023, when a host of marquee names endured disappointing campaigns and failed to qualify.
As a result of the change, many feel that unnecessary damage has been inflicted on the tournament’s identity and prestige.
Nevertheless, the 2024 Tour Championship draw still boasts an incredibly strong lineup comprising players ranked inside the world’s top 16.
As this season’s highest earners from results in ranking tournaments, Judd Trump, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Zhang Anda, and Ding Junhui are the top four seeds.
Their reward is an automatic bye through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The remaining eight contenders will battle it out for the other four quarter-final spots.
One tie immediately stands out, with Mark Allen drawn to face John Higgins in a blockbuster first-round battle.
Elsewhere, there are all-English fixtures between Ali Carter and Barry Hawkins, and Mark Selby and Gary Wilson.
Mark Williams encounters Tom Ford, who like Zhang and Wilson will participate in the Tour Championship for the first time.
2024 Tour Championship Draw Round of 12 Mark Williams (8) 10-9 Tom Ford (9) Mark Allen (5) 10-7 John Higgins (12) Gary Wilson (6) 10-8 Mark Selby (11) Barry Hawkins (7) 8-10 Ali Carter (10)
Quarter-Finals Judd Trump (1) 4-10 Mark Williams (8) Ding Junhui (4) 8-10 Mark Allen (5) Zhang Anda (3) 8-10 Gary Wilson (6) Ronnie O’Sullivan (2) 10-2 Ali Carter (10)
Semi-Finals Mark Williams (8) 10-5 Mark Allen (5) Gary Wilson (6) 7-10 Ronnie O’Sullivan (2) Final (bo19) . Mark Williams (8) 10-5 Ronnie O’Sullivan (2)
What are the ranking subplots?
The race is well and truly back on at the top of the official rolling two-year snooker rankings list.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has been the world number one since mid-2022, but that status will be under serious threat in the next few weeks.
Thanks to his victories in five ranking events this season, Judd Trump has narrowed the gap considerably.
In fact, Trump is so close to O’Sullivan now that he’ll usurp his fellow Englishman if he wins the event, or if he reaches the final and O’Sullivan doesn’t.
Mark Allen, meanwhile, remains in pole position to end the 2023/24 term as the world number one, with the Antrim potter at the top in the provisional end-of-season standings.
Results at the Tour Championship will also help determine the specific seeding positions for the top 16 at the Crucible Theatre this year.
Who is the betting favourite?
With ten titles between them this season, sharing five pieces of silverware apiece, it’s hardly surprising that Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump are the two betting favourites.
O’Sullivan is just about favoured with most online bookies at about 6/4, with Trump boasting odds of around 2/1.
The two rivals are on opposite sides of the draw, which could set up a tantalising final in what would be a repeat of the World Grand Prix title decider from January.
The only other multiple champions from the 2023/24 season are Mark Allen and Gary Wilson, who have outright odds of around 14/1 and 50/1 respectively.

I’d have kept it at eight players to preserve the one table setup throughout but feel any diminishing of its prestige is marginal at best. This is my favourite event of the ITV portfolio. Every match remains two sessions.
Would tend to agree. It’s definitely a pity that it has changed to 12, but there has been a bit of an overreaction to it really. I’m looking forward to seeing what the atmosphere will be like at the new venue.
Hopefully “best friends” Ronnie and Ali to meet in last 8

PGA Tour: Who has qualified for the Tour Championship and who can still win the FedExCup?
Scottie Scheffler leads the FedExCup ahead of Patrick Cantlay; Rory McIlroy starts in seventh as he bids to become first three-time FedExCup champion - watch the Tour Championship live on Thursday from 5.30pm on Sky Sports Golf

Shane Lowry agonisingly missed out on a spot in the PGA Tour's season-ending Tour Championship, but which players have qualified for East Lake and are still in the running to win the FedExCup?
The top 125 players were eligible to feature in the FedEx St Jude Championship, won by Will Zalatoris in Memphis, with only the top 70 in the standings after that week progressing through to the BMW Championship.
The first two events awarded 2,000 points to the winner, quadruple the amount on offer for a regular event, with the top 30 in the standings after the conclusion of the second FedExCup Playoff on Sunday then progressing.

Lowry went into last week 37th in the season-long standings, but briefly moved inside the top 30 during his final round at Wilmington Country Club, when he picked up a shot at the par-five 14th to register a fifth birdie of the day.
The former Open champion three-putted the 17th for a costly bogey to see him closing a final round of 68, which was only enough for him to end the campaign in 31st spot on a day when four players broke inside the qualification mark for Atlanta.

Scott Stallings jumped from 46th to 12th after an impressive runner-up finish, having narrowly threatened a first PGA Tour win since 2014, while K.H Lee's brilliant final-round 65 gave him the tied-fifth finish required to rise from 33rd to 26th spot.
A superb up and down from Adam Scott on the final hole ensured the former world No 1 would join Lee on 10 under and leap from 45th to 29th, with Aaron Wise's share of 15th place enough to sneak up one place to claim the 30th and final spot.

Wyndham Championship winner Joohyung Kim and American Davis Riley both slumped nine places to 34th and 35th respectively after struggling to tied-54th finishes, with JJ Spaun and Kevin Kisner the other two players to slip outside the top 30 and see their seasons come to an end.
What are the starting positions for East Lake?
Players are given a strokes-based advantage based on their position in the FedExCup standings for the final event, with the leader starting with a two-shot advantage over second place.
Live PGA Tour Golf
The next three in the standings start on seven, six and five under par, with golfers dropping by one stroke for every five in the 30-man field and players starting in the bottom five spots beginning the week 10 strokes off the pace.
World No 1 Scottie Scheffler , a four-time winner on the PGA Tour this season, claimed a tied-third finish in Delaware on Sunday to move top of the FedExCup standings and ensure he will start on 10 under.
Scheffler will hold a two-shot advantage over reigning FedExCup champion Patrick Cantlay , who jumped from seventh to second after successfully defending his BMW Championship title, with Zalatoris set to begin in third place until he was forced to withdraw with a back injury.
Xander Schauffele and Sam Burns round off the top five, meaning they will begin four and five strokes back respectively, while Champion Golfer of the Year Cameron Smith 's decision to skip the event to rest his hip injury means he will start the Tour Championship on four under in tied-sixth.
Rory McIlroy , Tony Finau , Sepp Straka and Sungjae Im are also in that group, while Stallings' runner-up finish sees him start seven back alongside two of this year's major champions - Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas - along with Cameron Young and former world No 1 Jon Rahm.
Former FedExCup champion Jordan Spieth is eight behind with Max Homa , Hideki Matsuyama , Joaquin Niemann and Viktor Hovland - who fired a hole-in-one during the final round last Sunday - whereas two-time major winner Collin Morikawa is in 21st place and will start on one under.
Lee, Scott and Wise are among the five lowest-ranked players through to the final event of the campaign, with the trio all beginning 10 shots behind alongside PGA Tour rookie Sahith Theegala and JT Poston .
The winner of the Tour Championship will also take home the $18 million jackpot, three million more than last year's total. The rest of the $75 million bonus is distributed around the rest of the field and every player is guaranteed a minimum of $500k just for qualifying.

The 30 players headed to the Tour Championship and finale of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup playoffs
The FedEx Cup playoffs started with 125 players. After the first event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the field was cut to 70 players . After this week's BMW Championship, won by the event's defending champion , Patrick Cantlay , only 30 players advance to the season-ending Tour Championship. The winner will take home an $18 million check.
The Tour Championship will take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta and will once again feature a staggered start beginning in Round 1.
So who's still got a chance? Here's the list of the 30 players who advanced, where they stand and the score at which they will start:

WILMINGTON, Del. — Sahith Theegala knew what was on the line and knew what he had to do, which may explain why he had the damndest time keeping his hands in one place.
“Yeah, I was really nervous this morning. I had my best friend Roy with me this week, and it was cool having him by my side. But I was nervous,” Theegala said Sunday afternoon after a closing 68. “I had a little bit of the shakes warming up. I couldn't hold my hands still.” In case the message wasn’t clear, Theegala added “It was a wild ride.”
And a ride that Theegala and a select few will continue one more week.
While Patrick Cantlay captured the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club there were 29 others who can count themselves winners in Delaware on Sunday, finishing inside the top 30 in the FedEx Cup to earn a trip to next week’s Tour Championship.
“Yeah, it's really exciting,” said Corey Conners, whose T-5 finish will keep his season alive. “It's always a goal at the start of the year. I feel like I've had a solid season. Still trying to get in the winner's circle again, but a lot of really solid play, giving myself some chances, and really excited to be going back to East Lake.”
MORE: The clubs Patrick Cantlay used to win the BMW Championship
Aside from a Brinks truck worth of guaranteed money—$500,000 for last place at East Lake, $18 million for a victory—a spot in the Tour Championship brings exemptions into the Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship along with a number of invites into the tour’s more important events. In short, if you make it to the season finale at East Lake, your next year is made .
There were four players that were outside the top 30 entering the week that earned a trip to Atlanta thanks to their performances at the BMW. Scott Stallings leads the group, his runner-up finish jumping him 34 spots to No. 12.
Other players that vaulted into the top 30 were Adam Scott, K.H. Lee and Aaron Wise.
Scott provided the drama late on Sunday afternoon. Needing a par on the 18th hole, the Aussie's tee shot finished on a hill in the rough. It left Scott standing in a bunker with his ball two feet above his feet as he went to play his second shot. His approach wasn’t great, finding a greenside bunker, yet pulled off a marvelous third to inside two feet and cleaned up what remained to secure his spot in next week’s field.
Scott, one of just two players to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs all 16 years since its inception, moved from 46th at the start of the week to 29th. It was the second straight week that he had “played” his way into the next playoff event, after finishing T-5 at last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship go from 82nd to 46th.
MORE: Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the BMW Championship
The final player in was Wise, who also made 4 on the closing hole when a 5 would have pushed him out.
“Yeah, it means a lot,” Wise said. “It's tough to be in the top 30 on this tour for a year. It's an honor. It takes a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of good golf. Especially the first time I made it I had a win, which I feel like really helps you. This time I did it without a win. So it's kind of even more sweet to be in that elite field without having a win this year.”
Of course, for players to jump out that means other have fallen out. Bad weeks by Tom Kim, Davis Riley and Kevin Kisner equated to their seasons coming to an end. J.J. Spaun, who entered the week at No. 30, dropped three spots at the BMW, unable to overcome a Friday 74.
Shane Lowry, who began the week at No. 37, was the first man out, a T-12 finish not enough to get him where he needed to be.
There is a golf tournament to be played next week, and once it begins all focus will be on the competition. But to most making the trip to even be in a position to compete is reward in itself, and one not lost on Theegala.
“I think the validation of the season, it's another step for me to feel like I really belong because I still don't feel like I'm really there at the top of the game,” Theegala said. “Slowly building confidence every week, whether it's a good or bad week. I feel like I've made a lot of progress. Yeah, it would mean the world to make the Tour Championship and stand along 29 of the other best golfers in the world.”

2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans Full Field: The PGA Tour's Two-Man Team Game
Irishmen Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy team up for the first time at TPC Louisiana.
- Author: John Schwarb
Much of the country is finally into the golf season, and for many players that means weekend pairs games. Pick a partner and take on another two-player team, either in a better-ball format or (if you want to see how much you really like your partner) alternate shot.
This week, the PGA Tour does the same thing.
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is a refreshing change from weekly Tour individual stroke play, with 80 teams of two playing the above two formats at TPC Louisiana. The first and third rounds are better ball and the second and fourth are alternate shot, with a cut after 36 holes.
Davis Riley (Titleist hat) and Nick Hardy won the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Andrew Wevers-USA TODAY Sports
The format always makes for interesting teams, from longtime friends to countrymen to completely random pairings.
Rory McIlroy is making his first appearance at TPC Louisiana, teaming up with fellow Irishman and Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry. They’ll see some familiar faces including their Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald, playing with his European assistant captain Francesco Molinari, as well as English brothers Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick.
Brothers and Tour rookies Parker and Pierceson Coody are a team, while at the other end of the age spectrum are Matt Kuchar and PGA Tour Champions regular Steve Stricker. Billy Horschel, who has won the Zurich when it was an individual event as well as a team event, has a new partner in Tyson Alexander, a fellow University of Florida alum.
Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, close friends and frequent partners on U.S. Cup teams, won the Zurich in 2022 and return. Defending champions Nick Hardy and Davis Riley are also back.
Winners earn FedEx Cup points and two-year Tour exemptions, but do not receive Masters invitations or world ranking points.

Action about to get underway
The 10am games are about to get underway.
This is the action to come…
Who has reached the most finals without winning?
That unfortunate gong belongs to the iconic Jimmy White.
The Londoner made it to the final an incredible SIX times without a single outright victory.
In 1994 he agonisingly lost a final frame decider to Hendry, who is of course codenamed the King of the Crucible.
Who has the most World Snooker Championship titles?
Hendry and O'Sullivan are currently the most decorated snooker players of all time.
The Scot has won at the Crucible a stunning SEVEN times and Rocket joined him in 2022 with his victory at that tournament.
Hendry has also been runner-up twice.
What is the World Snooker Championship 2024 prize money?

Today's order of play
Here's what we're looking at today with some big names in action:
- Jak Jones v Si Jiahui (7-9)
- John Higgins v Mark Allen
- Joe O'Connor v Kyren Wilson
- Jack Lisowski v Stuart Bingham
First man in the last eight
Dave Gilbert is the first man into the Crucible quarter-finals – and now has three days off.
The Tamworth cueist – who next plays either Stephen Maguire or Shaun Murphy – had moaned about being drawn to face Luca Brecel at 10am on the opening day.
But the quirk of the draw means he does not have to appear in the last eight until Tuesday morning.
Qualifier Gilbert, 42, said: “I was confident going into this. I’ve found something.
“I felt like my game can fire at any point. I have battled well. I was pleased to win a lot of those frames. I found a gear to breakaway.
“I could tell Robert was struggling. I had nothing to feel bad about.
“I have put a lot of work in behind the scenes. I was edgy going into the qualifiers. I hadn’t played a match for a long time.
“I had thought about putting the cue away and never playing again.
“But once I got there, you either sink or swim. And I am swimming.
“When you don’t play, you lose your touch and rhythm. When the balls are there, just get on with it.”
Higgo continues
John Higgins expects to outlive the Crucible as he plots a future into his 50s.
Higgins, a four-time world champion, said: “I won’t retire yet. I think this venue will be retired before I am from snooker.
“It’s a shame. All the noises coming out from the important people within the game, it seems as if we will be leaving here within three years’ time.
“Which will be a shame. I have spent tears, joy, everything rolled into one – your whole life has revolved around this venue.
“It will be a sad day when it leaves. I’m so lucky that I have won it here multiple times.
“Look at the great players that haven’t won it here.
“That might be something they look back on for the rest of their careers, even if they do become world champion, but not at the Crucible."
Milk Man fury
Robert Milkins justified a cue-chucking episode in his sorry Crucible exit saying: At least I didn’t do an Eric Cantona-style kung-fu kick!
He said: “Throwing my cue was frustration of not being able to have a good crack at it.
“I don’t want to make excuses. But I‘m just sick. I didn’t feel comfortable on any shot. The pain didn’t ease off.
“He punched the table two frames before, but people pick up on me chucking my cue.
“I have no problem with that. It’s all emotions, we are all passionate, we all want to do well.
“I shouldn’t have done it. It’s no big time. I didn’t javelin it. I didn’t do an Eric Cantona-style kick. The tip didn’t come off. There is a certain way to chuck your cue.”
Match stats
Si Jiahui now with over 100 points more than Jak Jones yet still trails in the match.
He's actually ahead on nearly every stat - except the latest score!
Si Jiahui 7-9 Jak Jones
It was a session full of drama, suspense and incredible moments.
It was also a session full of poor efforts, moments of madness and - as Jimmy White suggested - schoolboy errors.
They'll continue this match tomorrow after a bit of a mad day they've had here.
Game on in this match then! Si Jiahui sticks it out well and wins the mini-session, just as he needed to!
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (62-41)
It's in! Si sinks the blue which is the one he needed!
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (53-41)
Over five minutes since the last pot. Over 36 minutes this frame has lasted.
And they're back and forth playing the blue ball safe.
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (57-41)
Si Jiahui with a great shot on the brown, bang in the middle of the left centre pocket.
The blue is awkward near the right cushion and he opts not to take it on.
Back to safety shots...
Silly shot choice from Si Jiahui and the yellow pot into the left corner pocket is great from Jones.
He's not clearly on the green but a delightful cut sees the green drop too.
Jones then isn't on the brown so opts to play a snooker and it's probably the worst shot of this mini-session. Which is saying something.
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (53-36)
Trading snookers back and forth at the minute.
Yeah, Si Jiahui should be seeing this frame out from here.
Yeah, that obviously wasn't going to happen.
He misses the yellow as we get to the colours with just 17 points between them.
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (40-32)
Jones plays for a safety off the left cushion. Sending the red into the black that's sitting nearby, leaving the red effectively over the cushion.
Head has gone with that shot there it must be said.
Si Jiahui 6-9 Jak Jones (41-36)
Laughable at this point.
Jones plays "safe", for which Si Jiahui smashes the only red he could hit away from long range.
Excellent pot.
He then goes for a similar shot on the green into the green pocket. The green misses by quite some way and the cue ball bounces round the table off several cushions and into the right corner pocket. Getting a wee bit daft.
Another abysmal miss from Si Jiahui. He tries to force a powerful black into the right corner pocket and it flies out the jaws and away up the table.
He swings his cue round in anger and frustration.

Zurich Classic 2024: Odds, predictions, picks for PGA Tour team event
The only team event on the PGA Tour is here, as TPC Louisiana takes center stage in hosting the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is unlike any other event on the PGA Tour .
Instead of individual stroke play for 72 holes, this tournament employs a team format that features two players each.
For Thursday’s first round and Saturday’s third round, teams will play Four-ball, which means each player will play their own ball. The best score among the two players is then taken on each hole for the team. Then, for Friday’s second round and Sunday’s final round, teams will compete in foursomes—also known as alternate shot—so only one score is tallied per hole.
Of the 80 teams in the field, the top 33 and ties make it to the weekend. The winning team receives 800 FedEx Cup points—400 to each player—and two-year exemptions on the PGA Tour. However, the victors do not receive invitations to The Masters the following year, nor do they obtain any Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points.
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Odds:
Here are the current odds for the teams to win, per DraftKings:
- Patrick Cantlay & Xander Schauffele +500
- Rory McIlroy & Shane Lowry +800
- Will Zalatoris & Sahith Theegala +1100
- Collin Morikawa & Kurt Kitayama +1600
- Tom Hoge & Maverick McNealy +2500
- Matt Fitzpatrick & Alex Fitzpatrick +2500
- Taylor Pendrith & Corey Conners +3500
- Rasmus Højgaard & Nicolai Højgaard +3500
- Taylor Montgomery & Ben Griffin +4000
- Sepp Straka & Ben Griffin +4000
- Nick Taylor & Adam Hadwin +4000
- Keith Mitchell & Joel Dahmen +4000
- Brice Garnett & Sepp Straka +4000
Zurich Classic of New Orleans Predictions
An all-Irish duo of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry highlight this year’s Zurich Classic in New Orleans. But so do Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele —the only team that comprises two players ranked within the top 10 of the OWGR.
Three sets of brothers will also compete, including the Fitzpatrick’s, who tied for 19th a year ago here. Netflix’s season two of Full Swing underscored their triumphs and tribulations from this event through The Open Championship last season.
The other brothers in this week’s field include the formidable Danish duo of Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard and Americans Pierceson and Parker Coody. As such, the 2024 Zurich Classic marks the first time in PGA Tour history that two sets of twins will compete in the same event.
Cantlay, Schauffele contend but fall short again
Cantlay and Schauffele arrive in the Bayou as the odds-on favorites, and rightfully so. They form the best team on paper, but Cantlay has not had a terrific 2024 campaign.
The former UCLA Bruin currently ranks 91st on tour in overall strokes gained and 149th in strokes gained, approaching the green this season. He only has two top-10 finishes as well.
Cantlay’s iron play has sorely let him down, but perhaps he discovered something last week at Harbour Town. He tied for 3rd at the RBC Heritage and ranked 5th in strokes gained approaching the green on a golf course that places a premium on iron play. That marked his best finish since the Genesis Invitational , where he held the lead for most of the tournament but ultimately tied for 4th.
Meanwhile, Schauffele has had a marvelous season, ranking second behind Scottie Scheffler in overall strokes gained. He tied for 18th at the RBC Heritage, but prior to that, he recorded three straight top 10s, which includes a tie for 2nd at TPC Sawgrass and a solo 8th at Augusta National .
It would not surprise us if this duo went on to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans once again. After all, they did so in 2022 with an incredible score of 29-under par. But these two golfers have struggled to finish the job this year when the light has shined brightest. We envision that narrative persisting, especially since they arrive as heavy favorites with all eyes watching them.
The Winners: A pair of young American stars
We like the team of Sahith Theegala and Will Zalatoris to prevail this week in Louisiana. They arrive with the third-lowest odds at +1100, a solid price for these young stars.
Theegala, fresh off a solo second finish at the RBC Heritage, already has five top 10s this season. He has an innate ability to shape whatever shot he desires and ranks 13th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting. That, coupled with Zalatoris’ pedigree of being a terrific ball-striker, leads us to believe that Theegala and Zalatoris will triumph.
Plus, these two have a great camaraderie with one another, as emphasized by Theegala’s remarks after his solid week in Harbour Town.
“I’m super excited. I just want to win really badly with Will. I’m pumped that he agreed to play with me and know he’s going to carry me a little bit, but we’re just going to have such a good time, and I think our games mesh really well,” Theegala said Monday.
“We’re going to give each other some crap if we hit bad shots and give each other plenty of love for the good shots. It’s going to be a lot of fun, and I think really just going to try and take it down.”
Interestingly, Theegala and Zalatoris have each won once before on the PGA Tour. Theegala’s maiden victory came at the Fortinet Championship last September, while Zalatoris prevailed for the first time in August 2022 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
They know what it takes to win. But the circumstances change somewhat this week, as these players enter unfamiliar territory playing on a team professionally. Neither has competed in the Presidents Cup or Ryder Cup , but Zalatoris did compete in the 2017 Walker Cup as an amateur at the Los Angeles Country Club .
Still, these two entertaining Americans will rely on each other’s strengths to win the Zurich Classic.

Men’s Golf Opens SEC Championship Wednesday
The Missouri men's golf team begins the postseason with the SEC Championship teeing off on Wednesday morning in Georgia. TOURNAMENT INFO The 2024 SEC Championship begins Wednesday morning with the first of three days of stroke play. Tee times begin at 7 a.m. CT at the Sea Island Golf Club.
After three days and 54 holes of stroke play, the top eight teams in the standings advance to match play, with the quarterfinals and semifinals set for Saturday, April 27 and the championship slated for Sunday, April 28. Sunday's title bout is also set to air live on SEC Network, and Saturday's semi-final on SEC Network+. The 14-team field features five teams in the top 10 and nine top-25 teams, including No. 1 Auburn.
Rated No. 1 in the U.S. among the "World's 50 Best Golf Hotels" by Golf Digest Index, Sea Island Golf Club offers three exceptional 18-hole championship courses. The Seaside Course, home to the PGA TOUR's McGladrey Classic, is a links course graced by majestic ocean vistas in the tradition of St. Andrews. The par 70 course measures 7,005 yards in length.
TIGERS AT THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP Set to compete in their 11th SEC Championship since joining the conference in 2012 and seventh since the league moved to a combined stroke play and match play championship, the Tigers have advanced to the quarterfinals three times, including the past two in a row (2017, 2022 and 2023).
2023 SEC CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP Last year, Mizzou finished seventh place after 54 holes of action before falling to No. 15 Texas A&M in match play.
Alfons Bondesson and Charlie Crockett led Mizzou by finishing tied for eighth, a Missouri all-time best, during the stroke-play rounds, while Jack Lundin was 13th. The Tigers' three top-15 finishers match the team's total from its first nine championships combined as the only other Mizzou golfers to finish among the top 15 previously were Emilio Cuartero (9th in 2014), Rory Franssen (13th in 2017) and Jack Parker (15th in 2022).
LINEUP 1 – Jack Lundin 2 – Charlie Crockett 3 – Alfons Bondesson 4 – Adam Miller 5 – Virgilio Paz Alt - Trevor Mierl
UP NEXT The Tigers learn their postseason fate during the NCAA Championship selection show, slated for Wednesday, May 1 at 1 p.m. CT.

2024 RBC Heritage purse, prize money: Payout for Scottie Scheffler, golfers from $20M signature event pool
Another signature event means another big winner's check was up for grabs in south carolina.
Another week, another monstrous purse on the PGA Tour (taken home by Scottie Scheffler). The first signature event to be played following the 2024 Masters took place in Hilton Head, South Carolina, with the RBC Heritage hosting the best golfers on Tour -- and the best golfer in the world came out on top once again
With $20 million on the line in totality, Scottie Scheffler won for the fourth time in his last five starts , cashing a cool $3.6 million winner's share.
There was not a cut in place this week, so everyone in the field was guaranteed at least $41,000 no matter how many crooked numbers they posted. This is the new way of life for Tour pros as this is one of eight big-money signature events, only three of which have a cut.
Your first four winners from signature events this season ...
- The Sentry: Chris Kirk ($3.6 million)
- Pebble Beach Pro Am: Wyndham Clark ($3.6 million)
- Genesis Invitational: Hideki Matsuyama ($4 million)
- Arnold Palmer Invitational: Scottie Scheffler ($4 million)
- RBC Heritage: Scottie Scheffler ($3.6 million)
Scheffler has now won $16.25 million over his last five starts, including $3.6 million for taking the 2024 Masters, $4.5 million for winning The Players Championship and $554,000 for finishing second at the Houston Open.
The Wells Fargo Championship, Memorial and Travelers Championship will round out the eight signature events for 2024. Only the Memorial will have a cut. Add it all up, and there is nearly $200 million at stake between those eight tournaments plus The Players Championship, which Scheffler won in early March.
Let's take a look at the payout list for the 2024 RBC Heritage for the 69 players who are playing this event.

North Florida begins play in men's ASUN golf tournament without No. 1 player Nick Gabrelcik
Three-time asun player of the year 'not 100 percent' for undetermined reasons.
Three-time ASUN men's golf Player of the Year Nick Gabrelcik of the University of North Florida will not play in the ASUN Championship for undisclosed reasons.
UNF released its starting lineup before Sunday's first round, in order, as senior Robbie Higgins, juniors Andrew Riley and Jason Duff, freshman Chase Carroll and graduate senior Davis Lee. Play in the 54-hole tournament began at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Highland Oaks Course in Dothan, Ala.
North Florida coach Scott Schroeder would not specify why Gabrelcik, a native of Trinity, isn't playing and said it was in the best interests of the team to hold him out until the NCAA regionals May 6-8. UNF, 30th in the nation on the Spikemark rankings, is likely to earn an at-large bid if it doesn't win the ASUN title for the automatic berth.
"Nick is not 100 percent and with our No. 1 goal of advancing to the NCAA finals, we felt this gave us the best chance to do that," Schroeder told the Times-Union in a text message.
He said he would not get into specifics about whether "100 percent" meant an injury issue.
"Just saying not 100 percent," he said.
Nick Gabrelcik has won nine times, including 2022 ASUN
Gabrelcik is the all-time UNF leader in victories with nine and won the ASUN individual title in 2022. He finished second in the conference tournament in 2021 and tied for second last year.
He is among 10 semfinalists on the Ben Hogan Award Watch List as the nation's top college golfer and the only player from a mid-major conference.
Gabrelcik is fourth on the PGA Tour University rankings for the top college seniors and is on target to receive full Korn Ferry Tour status after the NCAA Championship May 24-29 at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calf.
Ospreys will have nearly all-First Coast lineup
UNF will field a lineup for the ASUN tournament with four First Coast products in Riley (Creekside), Duff (Menendez), Carroll (Middleburg) and Lee (Ponte Vedra). The Ospreys are trying to win their eighth ASUN title under Schroeder.
Higgins won earlier this season at the Sea Best Invitational. Riley, the NCAA Division II national champion last year at Palm Beach Atlantic, was the team's low player at its most recent tournament in Charlottesville, Va., April 8-9, finishing ninth. Gabrelcik and Lee tied for 15th as the Ospreys finished third in the team standings.
Higgins is 38th on the PGA Tour University rankings.
Riley and Duff are past Times-Union high school players of the year and Duff won the Class 2A state individual title in 2019. Carroll was the Class 2A runner-up in 2022.
