How to watch Tour de Suisse live stream 2023 — schedule and start times
1097km long and 18,000 vertical metres over 8 days of pain
The last sizeable stage race before 'the big one', the Tour de Suisse offers a final chance for riders to fine tune their race form. After his Covid curtailed Giro, Remco Evenepoel will be keen to make use of the form he so carefully built for the Italian race and take home the win but will face stiff competition from the likes of Tom Pidcock, Juan Ayuso and Romain Bardet.
With the whole race still in shock following the death of Gino Mäder during stage 5 it was understandable that there was little impetus to race stage 7. Three teams left the race overnight along with many other riders too upset to continue, leaving those who signed on to ride tempo until the last climb. Muted hostilities were resumed here and fittingly it was world champion Remco Evenepole who broke away to ride solo to a symbolic and emotional victory, honouring the memory of a life lost too young.

This tragic edition of the Tour de Suisse will conclude with stage 8, the second individual time trial where riders will resume the race for the overall victory, each one carrying the memory of Gino with them, inspiring them to push harder around the 25.7km from St. Gallen to Abtwi.
Other big names lining up to get into the swing of things before the ‘Grande Boucle’ are the irrepressible Wout Van Aert and Eritrean sensation Biniam Girmay. Read on as we explain how to get a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream and watch UCI WorldTour cycling online and on TV from anywhere today. We also have info on this year’s Tour de Suisse stages and start times below.
Bookended by time trials – the first a 12.7km test around the monastery village of Einsiedeln and the second, on stage 8, a 25.7 km course from St. Gallen to Abtwil – this year's race has attracted top TT talent like Stefan Bissinger and Stefan Küng.
In-between these flat stages, though, these heavier riders will face a whole world of pain as the race covers some of Switzerland’s most feared mountains. With a summit finish on stage 3 up the vicious ascent to Villars-sur-Ollon, the general classification battle will be well and truly taking shape and things only get harder.
Stage 4 is another very lumpy affair but nothing compared to the Queen stage the following day. Stage 5 takes the riders over the legendary Furka Pass, the Oberalp and Albula to gain 4700m altitude over its 211km and it’s likely here is where the race will be won or lost.
Read on for everything you need to know to watch a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream from anywhere.

Cyclist Gino Mäder, 26, dies after a high-speed crash in the Swiss Alps

Team Bahrain cyclist Gino Mäder of Switzerland died after suffering a terrible crash in the Tour de Suisse. He's seen here at the 2021 Giro d'Italia road race, wearing the blue jersey signifying the best climber.
Swiss cyclist Gino Mäder died Friday, one day after suffering a terrible crash during a mountain descent in stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse. Both Mäder and another racer, Magnus Sheffield of the U.S., were taken to the hospital after they were hurled into a ravine in the Swiss Alps.
Mäder, 26, crashed during the "queen stage" of the race — the label given to a multistage road race's most challenging and grueling days, which usually involve multiple ascents and test even the strongest riders.
A Pro Cyclist Rode An Unofficial, Solo Tour De France And Beat The Pack
After reaching the Albula Pass at a height just under 7,600 feet, Mäder and other riders faced a roughly 10-kilometer descent , racing down to the stage's finish line. In that segment, a motorcycle camera unit following the race leader clocked speeds of around 100 kph (62 mph).
It's not known precisely what led to the crash; TV broadcasts of the race didn't seem to catch the moment that sent the two riders off the road. "The circumstances of the accident are being clarified," race organizers said on Thursday.
After Mäder's death, the Graubünden cantonal police said on Friday that it is investigating the crash, along with the public prosecutor's office. The police issued a call for witnesses to come forward, particularly if they have video evidence.
The crash came in a high-speed portion of the course
During the descent, the two riders "crashed at very high speed," race organizers said. Another rider, Roland Thalmann, described the scene.
"After a long curve, two bikes were lying on the side of the road, which didn't look nice," Thalmann said, according to Cycling News . "When I looked back, I saw that two riders were quite far down."

"The race doctor was on the scene of the accident within two minutes," organizers said. Dr. Roland Kretsch found Sheffield, 21, responsive, with a concussion and bruises. Mäder was in far worse condition in a creek, as he "lay motionless in the water," according to organizers.
The medical team was able to resuscitate Mäder, and he was airlifted to a hospital. Kretsch later told SRF that the cyclists were found far below the roadway, and that Mäder had injuries to his head area.
Mäder's death stuns the cycling world
"Our entire team is devastated by this tragic accident, and our thoughts and prayers are with Gino's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," Mäder's cycling squad, Team Bahrain Victorious, said as it announced his death.
"Today and every day, we ride for you, Gino," the team said.

After the tragic news emerged, cyclists rode an extremely shortened sixth stage of the Tour de Swiss as a memorial to Mäder, with organizers saying the peloton, or main pack of cyclists, would ride only the final 20 kilometers of the planned course under "neutralized" conditions, meaning competition is suspended.
At Friday's finish line, a large crowd turned out to applaud Mäder's six teammates as they crossed the finish line together.

The new plan followed another last-minute change, after an avalanche blocked Friday's planned route in the mountains.
In 2021, Mäder won the best young cyclist's white jersey at La Vuelta, Spain's 21-stage race. He took fifth place in that race — the same spot he earned earlier this year, in the eight-day Paris-Nice race.
The Tour de Suisse isn't one of road cycling's three "Grand Tour" races, but with eight stages and plenty of high mountains, it's widely seen as a key tune-up for the Tour de France in July.
Race course layout is put under scrutiny
After Thursday's crash, Belgian rider Remco Evenepoel, the reigning world champion, criticized the race course's layout, as he sent his hopes for recovery to riders who crashed.
I hope all the guys that were involved in a crash are okay!! 🙏🏻❤️ I hope that the final of today's stage is food for thought for both cycling organisers as well as ourselves as riders. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/UZm6sRwiez — Remco Evenepoel (@EvenepoelRemco) June 15, 2023
"While a summit finish would have been perfectly possible, it wasn't a good decision to let us finish down this dangerous descent," Evenepoel said . "As riders, we should also think about the risks we take going down a mountain."
Evenepoel posted that message on Thursday, before news of Mäder's death emerged.
In many stage races with famously imposing mountains, organizers place the finish line at the very top of the mountain, or just beyond it.
Tour De France Officials Search For Spectator Who Caused Massive Crash
Thursday's stage included three mountain passes, with the first (Furka) and last (Albula) rated as "Hors Catégorie" — a designation reserved for ultra-steep climbs that are beyond cycling's normal 5-level categorization for mountains.
"We will see the best climbers in action again, but the last kilometers will also require a large dose of courage and honed descent skills," the race's official guide stated . It promised that the closing kilometers, descending from the Albula Pass to the mountain village of La Punt, "will be something to see."
Mäder died exactly 75 years after the only other death in the Tour de Suisse, which came when Richard Depoorter crashed in a dim tunnel and was run over by an escort vehicle in 1948, according to Swiss broadcaster RSF .

DIFFeRENT CHALLENGES-SAME emotions
Regardless of the duration of the challenge (one or more days) and the length of the route chosen, the Tour des Stations promises to link exceptional resorts in a grandiose environment with an extraordinary "vertical drop per km"! The event distinguishes itself by proposing a unique challenge in the world: "To measure yourself in one day against the height difference of Everest". However, everyone has the choice to climb "their own summit" among the six proposed routes, with, as with any climb, guaranteed thrills at the start and tears of joy at the finish.

Cyclist Dies After Mountain Crash in Tour de Suisse
Gino Mäder of Switzerland and another rider tumbled into a ravine during the fourth stage on Thursday. Mäder, 26, died Friday morning.
By Victor Mather
UPDATE: Tour de Suisse organizers decided to hold the race’s final two stages this weekend, but three teams, including the Bahrain-Victorious squad the employed Gino Mäder, announced they had dropped out .
A Swiss bicycle racer who crashed on a fast descent during the Tour de Suisse died on Friday, one day after he and another competitor tumbled into a ravine in the Swiss Alps.
The rider, Gino Mäder of Switzerland, was transported to the hospital after the crash on Thursday but died of his injuries on Friday morning, his team, Bahrain-Victorious, said in a statement .
Friday’s stage was canceled after race organizers informed the other teams and the race’s other riders of the death of Mäder, 26, about 30 minutes before it had been scheduled to start. The tour, an important prep race for next month’s Tour de France, is scheduled to continue through Sunday.
Some riders were in tears after hearing the news with the rest of the competitors. Race organizers said the peloton would ride together for part of Friday’s scheduled route in tribute to Mäder. The race is expected to resume on Saturday.
Mäder crashed along with an American rider, Magnus Sheffield, on Stage 5 of the weeklong race, a day that ends with a final descent down the Albula Pass, in the Swiss Alps. The final section where the crash took place, down an unprotected mountain road with mountains to its left and a steep drop-off just beyond its right edge, was largely empty when the riders passed through it.
Mäder and Sheffield were treated where they came to rest, near a set of drainage pipes down a sharp slope. Sheffield, who was reported to have sustained a concussion and cuts and bruises, appeared to be able to walk back up the hill with assistance. Mäder was more seriously injured. After initial treatment, he was evacuated from the scene in a helicopter.
“Gino Mäder lay motionless in the water,” race organizers said in a statement after the crash. “He was immediately resuscitated and then transported to Chur hospital by air ambulance.”
Mäder and Sheffield apparently fell off their bikes and then tumbled down an embankment, according to another rider in the race.
“After a long curve, two bikes were lying on the side of the road, which didn’t look nice,” the cyclist Roland Thalmann told the Swiss broadcaster SRF . “When I looked back, I saw that two riders were quite far down.”
Another rider suggested the crash, and the area where it occurred, should be a warning to race organizers.
“I hope that the final of today’s stage is food for thought for both cycling organizers as well as ourselves as riders,” the reigning world champion Remco Evenepoel said on Twitter after the crash but before news of Mäder’s death became public. “It wasn’t a good decision to let us finish down this dangerous descent. As riders, we should also think about the risks we take going down a mountain.” Evenepoel is in fourth place in the Tour de Suisse.
Mäder’s career highlights were a fifth-place finish in the Vuelta a España and a stage win in the Giro d’Italia in 2021. This season he was fifth in the Paris-Nice race behind the two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar.
Serious injury and deaths of professional cyclists in accidents are not uncommon, although they mostly occur in collisions with cars while training. In races, the danger is greatest on mountain descents, on which riders can reach speeds of 60 miles an hour.
The Italian rider Fabio Casartelli, a teammate of Lance Armstrong, died after a crash on a descent at the 1995 Tour de France.

Tudor Pro Cycling's Zijlaard wins prologue Tour de Romandie in Cancellara's backyard
Putting a fast cyclist on the flat and quick in the corners on a bike capable of the same is how Tudor Pro Cycling generated enough speed to win the prologue in the Tour de Romandie. Maikel Zijlaard claimed his first professional victory in the 2.3-kilometer prologue on a bike that once again proved to be the most complete bike BMC has ever made: the Teammachine R.
"This is my first victory, my first in the WorldTour,” Zijlaard said after the finish. “I can't believe it either. I am good at prologues, so my goal was to perform well. It's hard to believe that I won today, but I did it. It's crazy. And all this for a Swiss team in Switzerland.”
The 24-year-old, the main lead-out man for Tudor’s sprinters Alberto Dainese and Arvid de Kleijn, surprised everyone with an excellent performance on the course with 14 corners in 2.3 kilometers. The Dutchman needed 2.55 minutes, leaving Cameron Scott, Julian Alaphilippe, and all the other competition in his wake.
“The last two hours of waiting were the worst two hours of my life,” Zijlaard said after he finally knew he won the prologue. “I started very early, so I had to wait a long time until everyone crossed the line. This is a dream!”
Zijlaard made his debut last year in the professional peloton with Fabian Cancellara's team, the man he admired as a child. Obviously, the youngster wanted to show his best side in Payerne, a small town near Cancellara's hometown of Bern.
“From here, I am going to take it day by day. As a team, we're going to celebrate a little bit today. And then we'll see again tomorrow."
The six-day Tour of Romandie continues on Wednesday with a challenging hill stage to Fribourg, where Zijlaard, in his leader's jersey, will have to tackle plenty of elevation gain to set up the sprint for Alberto Dainese and defend his own leader’s jersey.

France's Godon wins opening Tour de Romandie stage
F rench cyclist Dorian Godon won a sprint finish ahead of his Decathlon AG2R La Mondial team-mate Andrea Vendrame on the first stage of the Tour de Romandie in Switzerland on Wednesday.
Godon, who came fourth in Tuesday's prologue, slipped through a gap to burst clear of the bunch in the closing metres of the hilly 165.7km stage from Chateau d'Oex to Fribourg and was followed closely by Vendrame.
Belgian rider Gianni Vermeersch of Alpecin-Deceuninck claimed third after an early six-man breakaway was swallowed up by the peloton on the last climb of the Arconciel.
Godon took over the race leader's jersey after picking up a time bonus that leaves him six seconds in front of Vermeersch. Julian Alaphilippe is nine seconds off the pace in third.
"We did a one-two with Andrea, and on top of the jersey, it's my first World Tour victory. I just had to be patient and I was rewarded," said Godon.
Thursday's second stage is a 171km run that finishes with a climb to Salvan/Les Marecottes in the Swiss Alps.

International Golf Federation Celebrates 100 Days until Olympic Golf at Paris 2024
Hannah green starts solid in her title defense.
Men’s competition to be held 1-4 August, followed by the women’s competition 7-10 August
LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND (Tuesday, 23 April, 2024) – In 100 days, the men’s golf competition will commence at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics at the renowned Le Golf National. The men’s golf competition will be contested Thursday, 1 Aug. through Sunday, 4 Aug., followed by the women’s competition, which will run Wednesday, 7 Aug. through Saturday, 10 Aug. Paris 2024 marks the fifth time golf has been featured in the Olympics, and just the third time since 1904 after its return at Rio 2016.
“With 100 days until the beginning of Olympic Golf Competitions, we’re excited to see the momentum building as we approach the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games,” said International Golf Federation Executive Director Antony Scanlon. “We know Le Golf National will provide a challenging, dramatic test to the competitors, and I can’t wait to welcome these 120 athletes as they represent their nations on sport’s biggest stage while vying to be presented Olympic medals atop the podium.”
QUALIFICATION
Both the men’s and women’s fields for the Olympic Golf Competitions feature 60 players. The IGF uses the Official World Golf Ranking to create the Olympic Golf Rankings as a method of determining eligibility. The top 15 world-ranked players will be eligible for the Olympics, with a limit of four players from a given country. Beyond the top 15, players will be eligible based on the world rankings, with a maximum of two eligible players from each country that does not already have two or more players among the top 15. For more information on the qualification process and to access the most updated Olympic Golf Rankings, please visit: https://www.igfgolf.org/olympic-golf-ranking/overview .
COMPETITION FORMAT
The competition consists of a 72-hole individual stroke play for both men and women, with four rounds scheduled over four consecutive days. Scores are cumulative from round to round. The player with the lowest aggregate score wins.
HOST COURSE – LE GOLF NATIONAL
Le Golf National, one of the most prestigious golf venues in Europe, will host both competitions and is owned and managed by the French Golf Federation. Located in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, 41 kilometers from the Olympic Village, Le Golf National has previously hosted major international competitions, most notably the 2018 Ryder Cup. The venue also serves as the permanent home for the annual Open de France event on the DP World Tour. Le Golf National opened in 1991 and was fully renovated in 2016.

LETTER FROM IGF PRESIDENT ANNIKA SÖRENSTAM:
It is hard to believe that today marks 100 days from the Olympic golf competition beginning in Paris. As the Olympic Golf Ranking continues to take form for the women and men, it has been exciting to see those emerging players who have put themselves in position to represent their country on the grandest sporting stage in the world.
Golf in the Olympics is still a new tradition since its return in 2016, but with each playing, the best in the world have recognised the incredible honor and privilege that comes with being an Olympian. As a result, the anticipation could not be higher for the various golf federations that will see their top players wear their nation’s colors with pride in Paris.
Speaking of the best in the world, what more is there to say about the recent performances from reigning gold medal winner Nelly Korda and Masters champion Scottie Scheffler? Both have displayed a level of dominance their Tours haven’t seen in quite some time, and it only heightens the excitement to watch these two top-ranked players perform at Le Golf National with a medal on the line.
And while the likes of Korda and Scheffler will surely find the spotlight, I look forward to supporting the players from those countries where golf has room to grow. The Olympics has incredible power to inspire the next generation of athletes, and golf’s inclusion creates immense opportunity to bring the game to households that may otherwise never be exposed to these players and their amazing stories.
So as golf in the Olympics continues to take root, we continue to recognize and celebrate not only the incredible experience that awaits these 60 men and women, but the lasting influence they can have on those watching from around the world.
See you in Paris,

Kid cudi cancels tour after breaking foot at coachella, kid cudi gotta cancel my tour ... long recovery after foot surgery.
Kid Cudi won't be raging around the globe anytime soon ... his recently broken foot will require surgery and a recovery time that will keep him from touring, this according to him.
Cudi broke the news to fans on Wednesday -- saying that his Insano: Engage the Rage World Tour was canceled for good as he prepared to go under the knife.
He promised to revamp the tour once he returns back to health but is unsure when that will be ... apparently, the injury is more severe than he first thought.
The 40-year-old took a terrible tumble last weekend while attempting to jump off the massive Coachella stage ... and failed to complete his set, although the festival wasn't prepared for the technical difficulty and kept the live stream booming with no action.
Cudi owned up to no longer being a spring chicken once he was safe in bed -- at least he knows what stunts not to pull when the tour rolls back around.
The good news is fans who purchased tickets will get refunds. The bad news is Pusha T , Jaden Smith and Earthgang are currently SOL without a summer tour schedule!!!

Tour de Suisse 2023 route
The eight-day stage race in Switzerland features two time trials and over 18,000 metres of climbing
Stage 8: St. Gallen - Abtwil (ITT) 25.7km
The 86th edition of the Tour de Suisse, June , begins in central Switzerland before heading westward to Fribourg, Vaud and Valais regions. The Queen Stage, on the fifth day features the Alpine crossings of Furka, Oberalp and Albula.
The route will then move eastward to the Thurgau and St. Gallen regions for the two final stages, ending the eight-day race with a time trial. The race divvies out plenty of climbing – more than 18,000 metres over 1097 kilometres in eight days.
Stage 1: Einsiedeln - Einsiedeln (ITT) 12.7km
This year's opener is an individual time trial in the monastery village of Einsiedeln on June 11, 2023. Though not considered a classic prologue at 12.7km long, stage 1 is expected to be a fast time trial with small time gaps for the contenders.
Stage 2: Beromünster - Nottwil, 173.7km
Stage 2 heads to the Mittelland for a hilly 174km circuit between Beromünster and Nottwil. However, as is often the case in Switzerland, sprinter stage or not, the terrain is not completely flat. In addition to speed, riders must overcome a total of 1,890 metres in altitude before they can fight for the stage win.
Stage 3: Tafers - Villars-sur-Ollon, 143.8km
Stage 3 with 2677 metres of climbing, the first stage in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, will provide the first mountain finish of the Tour de Suisse 2023. After the start in Tafers, the category 1 Col des Mosses is the first major obstacle of the day. The final climb to Villars-sur-Ollon is that the real test comes at the end of the 144km stage.
Stage 4: Monthey - Leukerbad, 152.5km
After more than 70 years the Tour de Suisse returns to Monthey for stage 4, which starts off with a 24 kilometre loop. Though the first 80 kilometres is completely flat, this stage will by no means be a rest day. The first challenge will take place on the ascent to Crans-Montana, a category 1 climb, 96km into the stage. The route follows more roller coaster terrain until the mountain finish in Leukerbad. The peloton will climb 1,500 metres of altitude on the 152.5km stage.
Stage 5: Fiesch - La Punt, 211km
The Queen Stage on June 15, 2023, has 4,700 metres of altitude difference spread over 211 kilometres. With the Alpine passes of Furka (the highest peak of this year’s Tour de Suisse), Oberalp and Albula, this will be an extremely tough stage. Shortly after the start in Fiesch, the peloton will begin climbing the hors categorie Furkapass (2,429m), with the summit coming 38.7km after the drop of the flag. The climb of the category 1 Oberalp Pass follows quickly. The third and final climb of the day, the hors categorie ascent of Albula Pass (2312m), crests with only 10 kilometres left in stage 5. The last kilometres will also require honed descent skills on the way to the finish in La Punt.
Stage 6: La Punt - Oberwil-Lieli, 215.3km
Stage 6 at 215km, is the longest of this year’s Tour de Suisse. From the start in La Punt, the riders have to master the Albula Pass from the opposite direction to the previous day. A series of flat sections precede a steady up-and-down course for the last 50 kilometres or so. The last 2.4 kilometres to the finish are uphill to the finish in Oberwil-Lieli.
Stage 7: Tübach - Weinfelden, 162.7km
The concluding weekend of this year's men's tour will start with a classic stage from Tübach to Weinfelden. Starting off with a flat start loop along Lake Constance, the 160km long stage 7 passes through the hilly Appenzell region. The terrain gets hillier with short and punchy climbs at the course enter the half-cantons of Appenzell Inner- Ausserrhoden before flattening out slightly on the way to the finish. This penultimate stage could provide a final opportunity for the sprinters to steal the limelight.
Stage 8, on June 18, is the 25.7km individual time trial from St. Gallen to Abtwil with 415 metres of climbing.

Ellen DeGeneres returned to the comedy stage Wednesday night for the first set of her “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour,” taking significant time to address controversy around her talk show that began with an internal investigation of poor working conditions on the show as reported in Buzzfeed .
DeGeneres’ Emmy-winning daytime talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” came to an end in May 2022 after nearly 20 years on the air. The ending came after a series of reports detailing allegations of racism, sexual misconduct and intimidation on set, while Variety reported on legacy crew members’ frustrations with how the production handled compensation during the COVID pandemic. DeGeneres gave an on-air apology and three producers were fired after WarnerMedia conducted an internal investigation.
Since the talk show’s conclusion, DeGeneres has kept a much lower profile. “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour” represents her biggest entry into the public eye after two years, with shows planned through the coming months.
“For those of you keeping score, this is the second time I’ve been kicked out of show business. …Eventually they’re going to kick me out for a third time because I’m mean, old and gay,” DeGeneres told the crowd Wednesday night, referencing how her ’90s sitcom “Ellen” was cancelled after she publicly came out as gay. “It’s been such a toll on my ego and my self-esteem. There’s such extremes in this business, people either love you and idolize you or they hate you, and those people somehow are louder.”
A representative for DeGeneres did not immediately respond for comment.
