I am trying to figure a way to keep my tour pack out of the way, and keep it from getting scratched up while it is off the bike and in my garage. I did find a aftermarket bracket online, but it is kind of expensive. Would the hooks, or brackets that you can buy at hardware stores for hanging bicycles on work? What do you do with yours when its off the bike?  

I don't know...had 3 Electra Glides and never removed it before...:think

Yes i know that it comes in handy, but I have mine off right now, and it really does give the bike a new look. I am just worried that it will get scratched or something just sitting on the garage floor.  

Move it in the house and put it on the kicten table and use the rack for a paper towel holder...  

I'm pretty sure my buddy used 1/2" wooden dowel, and 1/2 plywood to make a wall rack for his. Mine is on a overhead shelf I built in the garage.{cheap} Or this for 105.00...On ebay

just make sure you stay clear of your dryier vent where ever you put it....  

I remember an article showing a Q.D. tourpak/rack being stored on a wire shelf. The rack slipped over the middle bar of the shelf. I have an old microwave or tv stand in the garage that I put my tp on. I put a eyebolt into the drywall with a rope that goes over the tp and snaps to the luggage rack under the tp, to keep it from tipping. Come to think about it, I haven't taken the tp off in 4 years, it's just too darn handy.  

I use a similar rack as the one you were talking about Breeze. The wire racks are pretty heavy duty, but they wouldn't stay in place, so I just double zip tied each one at the corners so they would stay in place, works like a charm for all my gear, accessories etc!  

If you have exposed wall studs, you're half way there. Drill through them sideways (like you were going to run electric wire through them), then install 1/2 inch threaded rod through them. Do this twice, spaced so you can set the front tourpack mount on the lower of the two and latch the rear mount to the top one. This, btw, assumes you have the detachable hardware on the tourpak. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that when stored it's hanging nose down on the wall, not oriented like when on the bike. If you still have crap in it when you hang it, and decide you need it - you'll find it on the floor when you open the lid! Acceptable to me considering the low cost and simplicity of this method. Options: If you don't have exposed studs (like me), just cut a 2 x 4 in half, and lag bolt it through your drywall to your existing studs. I actually think this is the better way 'cause you have more room to get your hand behind it to work the detachable latches. If you don't like the idea of the threaded rod possibly cutting into the docking latches, you can reduce the size of the threaded rod and put the appropriate size of PVC pipe over the rod.  

I keep mine on the back of my bike, just behind the passenger seat. Where it belongs.

If your garage is finished, fasten a couple of 2x4's vertically wide enough to fit the tour pak between with holes drilled through. Run some wood dowels or steel pipe or conduit through the holes and hang the tour pak on the tubes. You don't like hanging the pak upside down? Run some 2x4's or angle iron straight out from the wall spaced to fit between the quick detach brackets, cover with carpet or foam and rest the tour pak on top.  

I'd just mount to a wall in the garage, two 12 inch shelving angle brackets, size the pack, cut a piece of plywood, cover it with carpet and set the tour pack on that. Then cover it with a dust cover. If you're really up to it, I'd rope the board get some pullies, rig up a block and lift it up into the rafters and tie it off to a tie off point on the wall. I did that for my 9' pontoon boat back when. I could back my truck in and lower the toon into the back of my truck, untie it and go. Rope cut across the top of the rafters and then a hit another pully and the line would run 90 degrees down the wall to my tie-off cleat. Worked great.

send it to me. I'll store it on my road king.  

I too took mine off my New to me 06 Electra Glide. I got a big enough box from Wal mart. Put a blanket on the inside and then put the Tour pack in the box. Covered it up with the rest of the blanket and taped it shut. It's now in the rafters of the garage. I thought about selling it. But I'll save it for when I Trike it next yr. I like the way the bike handles without it and also how it looks. The quick disconnect bracket costs about $170.00 for it. Screw that!

Good Bike Cover for RG with Tour Pak?

So my eyes are tired from scanning Amazon and J&P websites for a bike cover. I’ve had good luck with the UltraGuard brand, but I’m curious what else is decent. It will be used mostly in my garage as a dust cover. But when traveling, I’d like it to be waterproof. And I’d like one with lining that won’t scratch the paint. What size do you use? I’ve had the same cover search going on. I find one I think is the right one then I keep looking till I get tired and go to bed LOL. I’ve got a deep king fitted sheet on her now in the garage.

I have the Harley Indoor Outdoor cover for the Ultra/Limited bikes. Works great when I need it. I don't think I've pulled it out of the package for about 2-3 years though. The bike is only in the garage overnight every night and when I'm on the road, don't have enough room to store it and cover it at the hotel. But it works and fits great.  

I use a Dowco Half Cover Guardian Half Cover. Works with my Chopped TP and 16" bars. Got it off amazon  

@Bevis Does this one cover the front of the fairing completely, or does it ride up by the headlights? None of the 1/2 covers I've tried fit right, and I'm looking for one.  

I have the Harley premium Indoor Outdoor also and it's great for my RG. When I had my full dresser Voyager I had a Nelson Rigg cover and it also was great. And a little less price wise than the Harley. But they were both great.  

I bought a Paul Jnr XL bike cover from Walmart 5 years ago for $30.00 and it's on the bike now waiting for the warmer weather to come. Great value.  

In the same boat as OP. Looking for dust cover for in garage over winter and if it happens to be on lift in shop when working on other projects. I do like the idea of the Bevis' half cover for traveling though too.  

I bought another to cover the bike when under my shop. I have a couple Owls that stop by from time to time after hunting at night...they can make a mess of things

I have a Built cover I got on sale at a local Cycle Gear. Size XL. Though I don't have a tour pack. I think the XL would be big enough. But maybe the XXL.  

@craigffb it covers to the bottom of the fairing , below the headlight. If I didn't have the 16" bars and mirrors on top it would possibly sit lower.

I have the standard black/orange one from Harley from a few years ago, it's on my bike during the winter months in the garage. It's a great cover but way too bulky to carry it in a saddle bag. I have a small plastic/vinyl one from ..... Nelson Rigg? ... that I carry in a saddlebag, but I almost never use it when I'm on the road. If I can't find covered parking over night, it gets wet, bottom line.

Scooper, I have the HD indoor/outdoor as well as others here. It covers the entire bike w/ a full sized tour pak. Super heavy duty, as in substantial size when packed too. I put it on the tour pak luggage rack - fits just right. Not sure if it's waterproof but for sure it's water resistant. Has adjusting cords on the rear upper half to take up the slack when you don't have the tour pak on. Adjustable pull strings all around the bottom edge, straps to go under the bike if windy. Very pricey but works well. Got the all black one so as not to advertise w/ the large orange sections on the other one they offer.

I've got this one arriving today. I'll post up how it fits. As it is primarily a dust cover for me, I was most concerned with size as opposed to water resistance and outdoor durability. Based on your endorsement I went ahead and ordered one too. Like you said, for the money, it’s worth a shot. My prior bike was kept outside (life in a townhouse) and I would cycle thru Ultraguard covers. I like them. They are sturdy. But no cover cab last snow, ice and then sun for long. They usually tore in about a year. J&P (at the time) had a lifetime guarantee on them. So I’d buy a new one and return the torn one. It was a wash. I see they don’t offer lifetime warranties any more (!!!) and my Glide is in the garage. So this cover might do just fine. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk  

+1 on Dowco. I bought mine 10 years ago and bought it to fit a Goldwing. It covers everything including front and rear. I take the antenna off and again, it covers it all down to 6" from the ground.

We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
