OUR REVIEWS
What our guests think about our camp, tours and guides!
Abdul was an extremely fun and entertaining guide for us. If you want to have exhilarating fun in a jeep, please ask for Abdul! Super friendly, understanding, helpful, funny, and best of all - an amazing driver. Everything about this 2 day tour package was magnificent. From the jeep tour itself, to the very comfy tent and amenities, to the extremely tasty and filling dinner, and of course the after party to the dinner!
Sit back and have shisha and authentic tea with the hosts and go stargazing in the one of best areas in the world - the dessert of Wadi Rum. If you are hesitant about this, don’t worry at all and have a fun and relaxing time.
Abdul and the family were amazing to us. They were always looking that nothing was missing too us. Food was delicious and abundant. Camp has everything you need, and manager and staff are always checking if you need anything and make the stay easy. The jeep tour was great as well, the driver /guide was helpful, fun, and adaotative to the time we wanted to spend on each place. Also he cooked a great meal for lunch. Then we slept on a cave, and again, the experience is amazing, and we were provided of enough food, blankets and everything for us. Overall amazing experience, we enjoyed the desert and local people and food.
Astounding views and a great tour guide with an amazing sense of humor. Rushing through the dunes in the back of the pickup was a brand new experience. The guide, Abdul, showed us some of the places with the best views and even took our pictures. You can also expect some great advice about cliffs and life in general from him, as well as a quick guide on how to hunt mountain goats. We could also taste a bit of Bedouin life by gathering wood for a campfire and then drinking Bedouin tea while watching the sunset. Would 100% recommend.

Bedouin are traditionally nomadic tribes living in the desert. Bedouin (Arabic: بَدْو), comes from the Arabic word badawī which translates to ‘desert dwellers’.
Wadi Rum is home to Bedouin of the Zalabieh tribe. Until the recent increase in tourism, they led nomadic lives, relying on their animal herds. This tribe is responsible for developing Wadi Rum as a tourist destination, providing authentic desert experiences. They operate many of the jeep and camel tours, working as guides, trekkers and climbers. The village of Wadi Rum consists of several hundred inhabitants, concrete homes, goat-hair tents, one school for boys and one school for girls, medical centre, a few shops, restaurants and mechanics.

more information
The jeep tours start from 08:00 – 09:30 departing from the camp or the Wadi Rum Rest House in the Wadi Rum Village. At each stop you get the time to explore the sight, take pictures, interact with local Bedouins, walk around or climb. Some sights have tents next to it with little shops where local Bedouins offer free tea and a place to sit and relax. After the tour we head back to the camp or the Village, just in time for you to watch the sunset.
Depending on the size of your group, there could be other guests from the camp joining the same tour. This way everyone gets a chance to do a tour and I believe it’s also better for the environment to use as less cars in the desert as possible. If you would like to have a private tour for just you and your fellow travelers, please let us know in advance. You can book the tours in advance or when you arrive.
Important to know:
Tours are for groups from 2 to 9 persons. For more people please ask for the options.

The detailed Wadi Rum desert tour Wadi Sabet itinerary
Day 1 - meeting point and start time.
We will meet up at our office in Rum village for the check-in at 9.30 AM. We will have some delicious Bedouin tea and chat about our plans for the day and night. Once we finish the check-in, you will have a little bit of time for any final preparations. At 10 AM, we will set out into the stunning desert landscape for a day full of adventures.
Day 1 - In the morning
We will take a scenic jeep ride from our office to Um Mugur, passing through the beautiful red desert. Keep your camera ready to capture the stunning views. In the Um Mugur area, you will enjoy a delightful walk and scramble through a yellow sand canyon, which typically takes about 30-45 minutes. This canyon offers the opportunity to see various types of desert vegetation. As this is a walking-only canyon, your guide will drive around the mountain and meet you on the other side of the canyon. Afterward, we will continue our journey to Wadi Nuqra, where you can enjoy another hike. Your guide will drive to the end of the wadi and wait for you there. Enjoy climbing the dune, discovering the beauty of this part of our stunning desert, and marveling at the breathtaking scenery before we head toward Wadi Sabet.
Day 1 - Lunchtime
We venture further into the desert until we reach a tranquil and picturesque spot where we pause for a lunch break. Your guide prepares a freshly made Bedouin lunch right before our eyes. After the meal, you can rest or stroll to explore the surroundings at your own pace.
During the winter season, our daylight hours are limited, which means we will continue our journey right after lunch. Conversely, we have a prolonged break in the summer season to avoid the scorching midday heat.
Day 1 - In the afternoon
In the afternoon, we set out on a scenic drive to one of the most stunning viewpoints in Wadi Sabet. As we walk to a ridge, we discover old Bedouin storage places and take in the exquisite views over the wadi. Then we will head to Um Ghdah, where you can stretch your legs and embark on a hike through the canyon. While you traverse the canyon, your guide will drive to the end to wait for you there. Next, we will continue to Double bridge and marvel at its beauty. As the sun begins to set, we will make our way to Um Sabbath to witness the breathtaking sunset.
Day 1 - The overnight stay
We offer three choices for your overnight accommodation: a tent at our camp, outdoor sleeping near our camp, or outdoor sleeping at our ‘cave’. Visit our accommodations page to find detailed information for each option.
After the sun sets, we will take you to our camp or ‘cave’. At the campsite, you will get a brief introduction to the camp’s layout and operations, and we will show you to your tent or the outdoor sleeping area near the camp. At the ‘cave’, everything is clear and easy to understand.
At both the camp and ‘cave’, we serve a traditional Bedouin dinner. After dinner, you are free to do what you please. Usually, our guests and guides sit together, and you can learn about Bedouin life, chat with others, or just marvel at the billions of stars and enjoy the peaceful desert silence.
Day 2 - In the morning
Whether you are staying at our campsite or at our ‘cave’, witnessing the sunrise is truly a remarkable experience. Feel free to inquire about places to view the sunrise and its timings. We are always happy to assist you.
Breakfast is served at 7 AM, after which we pack up and head back to Rum village. You will arrive at our office between 8 and 8.30 AM for check-out. We bid you farewell and wish you a safe journey ahead.

A team Wadi Rum Day Tours
I’m Mohammed, and I live in the Wadi Rum desert with my Bedouin family. We have a deep love for this beautiful place, and we enjoy sharing it with visitors from around the world.
Growing up in the desert, I learned to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of life. We don’t have all the modern conveniences that people in the city have, but we have something much more valuable: a deep connection to nature and the land.
I love taking guests on tours of the desert, showing them the stunning rock formations, ancient ruins, and beautiful landscapes that make Wadi Rum such a special place. We ride camels, climb rocks, and explore the hidden corners of the desert, all while sharing stories and traditions that have been passed down through generations of Bedouin people.
One of my favorite things about sharing Wadi Rum with visitors is watching their reactions as they experience the beauty and serenity of the desert. It’s a powerful reminder that no matter where we come from or what language we speak, we are all connected by our love of nature and our desire to explore the world around us.
As a Bedouin guide, my goal is to provide a unique and authentic experience for my guests, one that showcases the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of this special place. I hope that through our time together, visitors will come to appreciate the simple beauty of life in the desert and the importance of preserving this fragile ecosystem for generations to come.

We offer many different kinds of activities from 4-Wheel Drive tours to hiking and scrambling. Our guides are all locals and have the experience needed to guide you safely through the…
Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabataeans–leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples. In the West, Wadi Rum may be best known for its connection with British officer T. E. Lawrence, who passed through several times during the Arab Revolt of 1917–18.[3] In the 1980s one of the rock formations in Wadi Rum, originally known as Jabal al-Mazmar (The Mountain of (the) Plague), was named "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom," after Lawrence's book penned in the aftermath of the war, though the 'Seven Pillars' referred to in the book have no connection with Rum.[4]
The area is centered on the main valley of Wadi Rum. The highest elevation in Jordan is Jabal Umm ad Dami at 1,840 m (6,040 ft) high (SRTM data states 1854 m), located 30 kilometres south of Wadi Rum village. It was first located[when?] by Difallah Ateeg, a Zalabia Bedouin from Rum. On a clear day, it is possible to see the Red Sea and the Saudi border from the top.
Shots of Wadi Rum in Lawrence of Arabia from 1962 kick-started Jordan's tourism industry.[9] Wadi Rum is home to the Zalabia Bedouin who, working with climbers and trekkers, have made a success of developing eco-adventure tourism as their main
