Event Details

This show was originally scheduled for September 21, 2023; and May 4, 2024. Tickets* will be honored for the new date TBA. A note from Beth RE: the rescheduled date as of March 5:

It's with a heavy heart that I must announce that the April/May USA tour will not go on as planned. We're diligently working to reschedule all the show dates, and I ask for your patience during this time. You all know my greatest desire is to perform live for you.

So please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the new dates, which we will share as soon as possible.

As many of you know, I've been struggling to stabilize my mental health treatment. It's been a challenging journey, but I want you to know that I'm giving it my all to be able to tour without incident, and with the support of my new medical team, together we believe that I am on the right path, and I'm asking for your understanding and a bit more patience.

Living with mental health issues, especially bipolar disorder, is a constant battle. My greatest fear would be embarking on the April/May tour only to have to cut it short due to my health.

To those who may feel let down, please accept my sincerest apologies. I promise you that I'm undergoing intensive treatment and therapy to get back to touring by the summer.

Thank you for your unwavering support and understanding. Let's look forward to the days ahead when we can share the magic of live music once again.

With love and gratitude,

---------- GRAMMY®-nominated powerhouse vocalist Beth Hart is as real as it gets. In a music industry full of glossy production and airbrushed photoshoots, this is one artist who throws down her cards, shares her darkest secrets and invites you to join her for the ride.

New fans might know Beth as the all-conquering global icon, dubbed "extraordinary" by The Times and "daring, brooding and angry" by The Guardian. But to understand her rollercoaster backstory, you need only read the War In My Mind lyric sheet.

Hart is recognized as one of her generation's most talented voices. She has sold out tours worldwide, including performances at historic venues such as Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, London's Royal Albert Hall, and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. She's topped the Billboard charts six times, gone double platinum and had a string of Top 10 charting albums across Europe.

The Grammy-nominated powerhouse vocalist Beth Hart took on one of her most profound undertakings to date by channeling the legendary voice of Robert Plant on A Tribute To Led Zeppelin. The nine-track album highlights the incredible musical spectrum that Led Zeppelin operated in.

All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle... the voice. Things clicked into place when Cavallo was producing Hart's previous album, War In My Mind (2019), and she did an impromptu version of "Whole Lotta Love" in the studio. He later asked about doing a whole record. Beth said, "I'm not doing this whole album. To do Zeppelin, you've got to be pissed off to hit that right. I can't go there; I've worked years to put my rage away.” She continues, "then the pandemic and all the things around it hit. So now I'm pissed off. I called my manager and said, have Rob and Doug send me all the music because I am ready to do this.” If you were to rewind, you could say the story for a Led Zeppelin album started further back; in May 2004, Hart prowled the stage at the Paradiso in Amsterdam for an incendiary performance of "Whole Lotta Love.” The song became a semi-regular fixture in her setlist over the years, including a memorable performance with Slash.

At 50 – and proud of it – Beth is basking in a golden period. The success of 2019's War In My Mind album has garnered yet more critical acclaim, growing sales and sold-out shows. But as the singer reminds us, her life has always moved in cycles – "things get good then go to crap, get good then go to crap" – and it's in these extremes that many of her best songs are born.

Beth Hart Drops Out of Mahindra Blues Festival Citing Mental Health Concerns

The blues powerhouse vocalist was scheduled to perform in India and Australia this week

American blues artist Beth Hart was scheduled to perform at Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai on February 11th.

Mahindra Blues Festival headliner Beth Hart has pulled out of the two-day event in Mumbai, citing ongoing health concerns.

In a statement uploaded by the Mahindra Blues team to their Instagram earlier today, Hart says , “I regret to inform you that I must cancel my upcoming appearances in both India at the Mahindra Blues Festival and Australia due to ongoing health concerns, particularly related to my mental well-being. My health condition prevented me from boarding my flight today to begin my tour as planned.”

The Grammy-nominated artist was slated to perform on February 11th at Mahindra Blues, whose lineup featured an all-female lineup in its 12th edition. Hart statement added, “This decision comes after careful consideration and consultation with my doctors, as I have been under their care since October. Managing bipolar disorder has been challenging, and prioritizing my health is crucial at this time.”

She offered further details of the care that she’d been receiving in the past months. “The management of my medication became more challenging in the last week, and despite my efforts to make the tour work, I need to focus on my recovery,” she added.

Hart, who last performed in India in 2017, apologized to fans in the note. “Your support means the world to me, and I deeply apologize for any disappointment this may cause. I was looking forward to sharing in the energy and passion for music with you all. I promise to make it up to you once I am in better health. Thank you for understanding, and I appreciate your support,” she signed off.

The Mahindra Blues Festival shared their own statement to Hart and for attendees about the cancelation. A note on Instagram from the festival states, “We’re saddened to hear about your health and fully support your prioritizing it. Your presence will be greatly missed at the Mahindra Blues Festival, as your unique talent and passion have always been a beacon for blues enthusiasts. While we regret not experiencing your magic this year, your well-being is paramount. We eagerly await the day we can welcome you back. Until then, rest assured, we’ll keep the blues flame burning bright. The Mahindra Blues Tribe wishes you a speedy recovery and looking forward to the moment we can celebrate your return.”

The festival rolls on despite Hart’s cancelation, with the lineup including blues, soul and rock-informed artists such as Dana Fuchs, Samantha Fish, Sheryl Youngblood, Vanessa Collier and Shillong’s Tipriti Kharbangar with Mumbai artist Kanchan Daniel, plus the Big Blues Band Hunt winners, New Delhi band Big Bang Blues.

Recent tour reviews

I went to 3 of Beths' gigs in 2 weeks in 2020 ... Absolutely brilliant. Easily the best gigs I've ever attended [& I grew up in the industry].

She did really well to bounce back so quickly from being really poorly in Glasgow. It's just as well she looks after herself & knows how to deal with these things. You could tell she didn't feel 100% at the shows following the cancellation, but you had to really look - as she's such a pro. She was still absolutely amazing, not a single duff note [as per] .... But there was a lot of snot hahaha

She's a very clever, honest & open woman. Totally under-rated in My opinion.

My tickets are bought for Autumn 2021 & the hotels are booked. I've a LOT of miles to do & I'm gonna be skint & knackered, but it'll be well worth it.

If you get the chance to see Beth & the boys then please jump at it - you won't regret it

The gig at the Royal Concert HallGlasgow,14/2/20 was cancelled allegedly due to illness(a heavy worsening cold)suffered by Beth Hart. The notification was distributed by a paper notice on the door of the venue only 4 hours before event.See cancellation notice that was posted on her official website.

SURPRISINGLY,she was fit enough the following evening to do a live gig(15/2/20)in Newcastle(The Sage,Gateshead) which leaves the question-WHO IS TELLING LIES AND MISLEADING THE PUBLIC WHOM WERE SUPPOSED TO ATTEND THE GIG IN GLASGOW? DISGUSTING ! IF IT WAS A DISPUTE B/T THE PROMOTERS AND THE VENUE THEN, TRADING STANDARDS SHOULD INVESTIGATE !If Beth Hart's management, then their untrustworthiness needs to be repaid by a refusal for anyone from the region(Scotland)to buy tickets for her future gigs here. This would send a clear message of STAY AWAY !

Many people had also booked overnight accomodation to stay over which of itself incurred expense and is unacceptable. There should be recourse of expenses incurred against the promoters/Beth Hart management. No excuses,if she was not well enough to gig on friday night(14/2/20) then unless a miracle had taken place(no chance) NO WAY WAS SHE WELL ENOUGH ON THE FOLLOWING NIGHT saturday(15/2/20)Beth Hart and management take note!DO NOT INSULT PEOPLE'S INTELLIGENCE.You should all be ashamed of your misrepresentations in hiding the truth !!Enough said !

Beth Hart Bares Her Soul To Captivated Eventim Apollo - 08/02/20

The Kris Barras Duo, being Kris and Josiah J Manning one half of The Kris Barras Band, opened proceedings with a half hour acoustic set. Both armed with acoustics but Josiah was also adding bass with his right booted foot and kick drum with his left socked foot.

Band favourites such as Heart On Your Sleeve, What You Get and Vegas Son all worked well acoustically but the duo's version of Midnight Rider was the piece de resistance. Hail Mary brought an excellent set to a close.

A short interval before the lights dimmed and Jon Nichols takes up position alone on stage with his acoustic guitar. Heads turn as Beth Hart's dulcet tones are heard and she suddenly appears at the back of the hall. Graciously moving down the centre aisle, interacting with the audience as she goes, she draws closer to the stage with husband, stage manager and protector Scott Guetzkow close by.

She eventually joins Nichols on stage for There In Your Heart, a gentle opening number before the full band then take up positions, Bill Ransom on drums and Tommy Lilly on bass for Close To My Fire. A band that is very close to Beth's heart as all three members have been with her for most of her twenty five year musical career. She has great trust in them emotionally and professionally.

Beth Hart sings everything from the heart and the great trauma and tragedy of her relatively young 48 years is the inspiration for almost everything she writes. It has not all been doom and gloom, however, and Rub Me For Luck is a heartfelt song with a very moving piano accompaniment that she wrote for her very good friend Joe Bonamassa...... 'Your guitar's a bleeding heart, If you play me like you play that thing,

You'd shine me like a diamond ring.....say no more.

If there is an artist who could add a feminine touch to a Tom Waits classic it would be Hart and it was a bonus that she could accommodate Chocolate Jesus within the set list on this night. This was followed by the excellent Bad Woman Blues before Beth took the band completely by surprise and opted to play a Bobby 'Blue' Bland number I'll Take Care Of You which featured on the covers album Don't Explain that she released with Joe Bonamassa in 2011.

'War In My Mind' (It's All Black In My Soul) the emotionally charged lyric from the title track War In My Mind from Hart's new album pretty much says it all. The rockier Sugar Shack also from her new album follows before the band take their leave and Beth has the stage to herself. Tell Her You Belong To Me was written for her father for whom she loves dearly and his partner who she only wished ill will upon. In fact in the past she would often dream of doing her serious harm. The lyric was strong and was sung with such emotion as she sat on the edge of the stage before taking to the stool behind her piano, totally captivating the audience.

Beth Hart has a voice to die for but what sometimes goes overlooked is her amazing talent as a pianist. It is no small wonder as she was classically trained from four years of age before she started delving into Etta James and even Led Zeppelin. The power of her voice coupled with the intensity of the piano would hold an audience spellbound ad infinitum.

The beautiful Sister Dear was written for one of Hart's sisters who I believe was in the audience on the night and she must have been absolutely blown away. Hart's absolute love for her mother shone brightly when she sang Mama This One's For You and was emotionally broken and in tears at the end. Hart brings this short solo section to a close with Baddest Blues before welcoming back Tommy Lilly who takes up his upright bass for Without Words Get In The Way. Nichols and Ransom join them mid way through with acoustic guitar and single drum/percussion respectively.

This acoustic set up prevailed for the remainder of this fabulous evening. Baby Shot Me Down had a real latin feel to it whilst If I Tell You I Love You a french vibe. Beth Hart demonstrated that there really was no limit to her talents as she joined the rest of her band on acoustic guitar.

Beth again took the band by complete surprise by bringing the main set of this fabulous evening's entertainment to a close with I'd Rather Go Blind before she was rapturously brought back for an encore. Beth Hart returned to her piano for the very dark and haunting Woman Down accompanied by Tommy Lilly on upright bass.

A fabulous evening wherein this tortured sole opened her heart but should be proud of the fact that she can captivate an audience and have them eating from her hand for a full two hours.

Beth Hart A Tribute To Led Zeppelin at Amazon

why has beth hart cancelled her tour

The nine-song album highlights the incredible spectrum that Led Zeppelin operated in. At the helm was super-producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance) and engineer Doug McKean (Goo Goo Dolls, Adam Lambert). The A-list musicians include Cavallo on guitar along with Tim Pierce (Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner), on bass was Chris Chaney (Rob Zombie, Slash), keyboards were Jamie Muhoberac (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones), on drums Dorian Crozier (Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Joe Cocker) and Matt Laug (Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper), with Orchestral arrangements by David Campbell (Muse, Beyoncé). All that was left was the final piece of the puzzle… the voice.

Things began back when Cavallo was producing Hart’s previous album, War In My Mind (2019), and she did an impromptu version of “Whole Lotta Love” in the control room during the session. It’s fitting that “Whole Lotta Love”, is the opening song of the album. From there, it’s a non-stop journey through “Kashmir,” an enchanting version of “Stairway to Heaven” to a James Brown-esque funky strut of “The Crunge.” Inspired medley’s “Dancing Days/When The Levee Breaks” and “No Quarter/Babe I’m Gonna Leave You Now” stand either side of “Black Dog.”  The penultimate song “Good Times Bad Times” leads into the orchestral ballad “The Rain Song,” which closes the album.

why has beth hart cancelled her tour

Talking about the music and legacy of Zeppelin, she says, “it’s so beautifully done, it’s timeless. It will go on forever. Sometimes people come along, and they’re from another planet, and they make these pieces of art which will forever be.”

The news follows the release of Beth’s latest album  A Tribute To Led Zeppelin . Beth’s ever-growing fanbase can look forward to experiencing more of Beth’s breath-taking emotionally charged live shows including songs from her critically acclaimed albums  War In My Mind  and  Fire On The Floor .

Beth continues to vow audiences all over the world with her unique performances and astounding voice. Previously, she sold out the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. This performance was later released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Beth Hart returns to our shores this month with an internationally renowned Australian blues artist locked in as her support act.

More Beth Hart

Australian blues star Frank Sultana will open for Beth Hart on her upcoming Australian tour. The special guest announcement was revealed as tour promoters MJR Presents shared that tickets to Hart’s concert at Melbourne’s (Naarm) Hamer Hall sold out yesterday .

Fans who want to see Hart perform tracks from her latest album, A Tribute To Led Zeppelin , and other hits, as well as renowned bluesman Frank Sultana, had better get in quick, as tickets to Hart’s shows in Sydney (Eora), Adelaide (Kaurna) and Brisbane (Meanjin) are selling fast.

Hart returns to Australia this month. The tour of theatre shows begins on Saturday, 17 February, at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane, followed by the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Monday, 19 February, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Thursday, 22 February, and Sydney’s Darling Harbour Theatre on Saturday, 24 February.

The LA Song (Out Of This Town) singer landed in Australia last April for a rip-roaring performance at Bluesfest . However, this tour marks Hart’s first range of tour dates down under since February 2019.

In January 2023, Frank Sultana left crowds stunned after he competed for five days and won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, in the solo/duo category over 148 other applicants.

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

By winning, Sultana became just the third Australian artist to take home the prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Melbourne legends Fiona Boyes and Jimi Hocking .

Sultana won a $3,500 cash prize and scored guaranteed entry to perform at the following international blues festivals: the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, Durango Blues Train Colorado , and a Blues Festival Guide advertising package, as well as additional sponsor prizes (per Beat ).

Last May, Sultana released his new album, The Ghosts Of Sun , which was recorded in just four hours at the iconic Sun Studios in Memphis. The album spans 12 songs from 12 years of his illustrious career, all re-recorded and stripped back to be as raw (and traditional) as possible: just Frank Sultana and his voice, guitar and stompbox.

Upon announcing her Australian tour, Beth Hart reflected in a press release, “Australia, it always feels like it’s been too long since I’ve been fortunate enough to visit and perform in your beautiful country.

“I’m lucky enough that I’ve been able to tour across Australia several times, but in terms of really getting to know the people or culture - I haven’t been able to soak it in enough. I’m hoping to change that this time around!”

BETH HART ANNOUNCES 2024 AUSTRALIAN TOUR

  • Greg Phillips
  • October 9, 2023

why has beth hart cancelled her tour

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will land in Australia next February for an east coast tour run, armed with her latest release ‘A Tribute to Led Zeppelin’. Grammy-nominated and critically acclaimed California native Beth Hart has officially announced her highly anticipated return to Australia, with dates set to kick off in February 2024!

No stranger to our Australian shores, Hart has been a regular visitor down under since her debut tour run several decades ago, with subsequent tours throughout the country all selling out in record time and her sets at Blues Fest being praised by both critics and fans.

Now, armed with her most recent release, ‘A Tribute to Led Zeppelin’, which sees the American singer-songwriter paying homage to twelve of the most iconic Zeppelin tracks of all time, Hart will once again descend upon Australia for a series of live shows in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in February 2024.

“Australia, it always feels like it’s been too long since I’ve been fortunate enough to visit and perform in your beautiful country. Said Beth Hart, “I’m lucky enough that I’ve been able to tour across Australia several times, but in terms of really getting to know the people or culture – I haven’t been able to soak it in enough. I’m hoping to change that this time around!”

Born in Los Angeles, Beth Hart has released a fistful of hit albums through the ’90s, then reignited in the post-millennium as both a solo artist and the head-turning vocalist for guitar heroes like Slash, Jeff Beck, And Joe Bonamassa. The Times heralded her as “Extraordinary” and a once-a-generation voice box, while The Guardian praised her “daring, brooding and angry” performances.

But it’s in recent times that Beth has truly blossomed. In April 2015, she released Better Than Home, a critical and commercial smash that topped the iTunes Blues Chart and was crowned #4 Best Blues Album Of The Year by Mojo magazine, before going on to release several other acclaimed releases, including 2016’s ‘Fire On The Floor’, ‘Black Coffee with Joe Bonamassa’, 2019’s ‘War In My Mind’, ‘Live At The Royal Albert Hall’ and her latest offering – ‘A Tribute to Led Zeppelin’.

Presale for Beth Hart’s Australian tour begins at 10:00am (local) on Tuesday 17 October until 9:00am Thursday 19 October,
