For Kind and Country was excellent Nov 7th in Madison!!! The music, the lights, the new look of a ship...them coming down on the sails from way up high in the sky singing Amen was a stunner! Cannot tell you how much I anticipated them coming to Madison and was excited beyond excited to see them and hear them. I enjoyed that each band member came to the point of the stage bringing their instruments and being introduced & playing songs, that was unexpected and I appreciated that so much. I was six chairs away from that point of the front of the ship and saw everyone & thing up close... a highlight of my life to be there that night!!! What a special group of people, and their music is great! God has blessed us all so much!!!

I had seat 106 J 1,2,3,4...side view close to stage. I enjoyed show..my only complaint s are...the performers didn't turn toward the side audience enough. They played forward 90 percent of the time, even when walking around. The acoustics got off for the last 3 to 4 songs of the show too.while I admire the compassion international, their name is for king and country and a lot of American children are living in poverty too. Overall they are professional performers who put on a decent show..but if they are going to start a 1/2 late at least tell the audience why and when sharing the story about courtney... maybe say why she was taking the pills and the name of the medicine. ... I enjoy the sound of the band and will see them at unity in 2020..God Bless.

Chicago concert : they are theatrical performers— very high energy and lots of fog and lights! They may have sung all the songs from Burn The Ships album but didnt sing “O God Forgive Us” & a couple others I loved of theirs but didn't hear. Concert built in anticipation as the doors opened around 715 (15 min late) before we could walk into the building, but concert also was close to 40 min late in starting. No prayers during concert either which I am used to having. This stage was well used as they were running back and forth and even came up thru the crowd... they must be so tired after their performances! Enjoyed the show!

Shows kick off in Hawaii in March

Multi-Grammy Award winning duo and Curb/Word Entertainment recording artist For King + Country have announced their upcoming 2023 What Are We Waiting For? The Tour Part II. The 31 city US and Canadian tour will kick off on March 23rd in Honolulu, Hawaii and will continue through May 31st in Vancouver, BC.

Presales run from November 1-3, with the general on sale on November 4th via Ticketmaster .

For King & Country's Joel Smallbone Directs, Writes & Stars in Unsung Hero

Unsung hero.

Unsung Hero stars Joel Smallbone, one of the members of the Christian pop duo, for KING + COUNTRY . Unsung Hero is based on the experiences of their family, specifically their mother, and how she and the rest of the Smallbones emigrated from Australia to the United States and settled in the Nashville area. The recipients of numerous awards and nominations (including five Grammy Awards), for KING + COUNTRY have collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the business, including Dolly Parton, Timbaland, Tori Kelly, Lecrae, and Needtobreathe, among others.

Joel Smallbone, meanwhile, is no stranger to the movies, with the artist having starred in the crime drama Priceless back in 2016 under the direction of his brother, Ben Smallbone. He is starring in the new Christmas musical, Journey to Bethlehem , as well.

The rest of the Unsung Hero ensemble cast includes Daisy Betts ( Chicago Fire, Last Resort ), Kirrilee Berger ( One Dollar, Grown-ish ), Jonathan Jackson ( Nashville, General Hospital ), Lucas Black ( The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 42 ), Candace Cameron Bure ( Full House, Fuller House ), Terry O'Quinn ( Lost, Resident Alien ), and Lady A singer Hillary Scott.

As well as starring in Unsung Hero , Joel Smallbone will direct the drama alongside Richard Ramsey, with the pair having also penned the script. Producers behind Unsung Hero include Justin Tolley, Josh Walsh, and Luke Smallbone.

Unsung Hero is now scheduled to open on April 26, 2024, in wide release, from Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company.

On Saturday, May 4, George Strait is launching his ten-concert 2024 tour that he announced last September with special guests Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town.

From there, the King of Country heads to NFL stadiums all over North America including a stop at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Saturday, June 8.

THE LION KING North American Tour to Celebrate 22nd Anniversary

Since the North American tour launched in April 2002, The Lion King has welcomed over 23 million theatergoers.

The North American tour of Disney's The Lion King will celebrate its 22nd anniversary on Saturday, April 27 in Minneapolis. The Lion King has returned “home” to Minneapolis' historic Orpheum Theatre, where the Tony Award-winning Best Musical played its pre-Broadway run in 1997, and where the touring production is currently entertaining capacity houses through Sunday, April 28. 

Since the North American tour launched in April 2002, The Lion King has welcomed over 23 million theatergoers, making it North America's longest-running and most-attended Broadway tour. During the past 22 years, the record-breaking tour has employed hundreds of theater professionals, played over 10,000 performances during 253 engagements in 95 cities. Few tours in theatre history have achieved anything like its reach or impact.

The touring production features Peter Hargrave as “Scar,” Gerald Ramsey as “Mufasa,” Mukelisiwe Goba as “Rafiki,” Nick Cordileone as “Timon,” Nick LaMedica as “Zazu,” John E. Brady as “Pumbaa,” Darian Sanders as “Simba,” Khalifa White as “Nala,” Forest VanDyke as “Banzai,” Martina Sykes as “Shenzi” and Robbie Swift as “Ed.”

The role of “Young Simba” is alternated between Mason Lawson and Julian Villela and the role of “ Young Nala ” is alternated between Jaxyn Damasco  and Aniya Simone .

The Broadway score features Elton John and Tim Rice 's songs from the Lion King animated film along with three new songs by John and Rice; additional musical material by South African Lebo M, Mark Mancina , Jay Rifkin , Julie Taymor and Hans Zimmer ; and music from "Rhythm of the Pride Lands," an album inspired by the original music in the film, written by Lebo M, Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer .  The resulting sound of The Lion King is a fusion of Western popular music and the distinctive sounds and rhythms of Africa, ranging from the Academy Award-winning song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” to Lebo M's rich choral numbers.

Elton John , Lebo M, and Hans Zimmer all collaborated on the 2019 version of the film, executive produced by Julie Taymor and Thomas Schumacher , which has gone onto extraordinary worldwide success.

The book has been adapted by Roger Allers , who co-directed the animated The Lion King feature, and Irene Mecchi , who co-wrote the film's screenplay.  Other members of the creative team include:  Michael Curry , who designed the masks and puppets with Taymor, Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound design), Michael Ward (hair and makeup design), Anthony Lyn (associate director), Marey Griffith (associate choreographer), Clement Ishmael (music supervisor), Lisa Dawn Cave (production supervisor), Thomas Schlenk (general manager) and ARC/ Mark Brandon , CSA (casting).  Anne Quart serves as executive producer.
