Last updated: April 29, 2024

Copper Creek rooms are spread out among the main Wilderness Lodge building and in two-bedrooms cabins along Bay Lake. Whatever the rooms might lack in theming, they more than make up for in comfort and space.

National Park Lodge theme is a favorite of kids and adults alike

Excellent lounge for adults

Close to recreational options at Fort Wilderness

Great views from guest rooms

Exceptionally peaceful location and public areas

Large pool with cabanas

Waterfront cabins are our favorite room type in Walt Disney World

Transportation to Magic Kingdom is by bus or boat only

Bus transportation to Magic Kingdom sometimes shared with Fort Wilderness

Room furnishings feel dated

Copper Creek was beautiful and the two bedroom suite was fantastic.

August 2, 2019

The 1 bedroom villa was outdated and has a very strange floor plan.

August 7, 2015

Copper Creek rooms have less theming than those in the rest of the lodge - with another color of paint and different knickknacks, they could be rooms at Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Nonetheless, readers give these rooms an A for quality. In fact, they're so well appointed and comfortable that they highlight the need for refurbishments at the older Boulder Ridge Villas.

  • Room with Queen Bed(s) and en-suite bathroom
  • Balcony or patio
  • Dresser with drawers
  • Full-length mirror
  • Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi)
  • Flat-panel TV
  • Mini-fridge
  • Coffee maker and starter supply of coffee pods
  • Starter supply of disposable kitchenware: paper plates, bowls, and cups; plastic forks, knives, and spoons
  • Ironing board and iron
  • Digital thermostat
  • In-room safe
  • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and bar soap

All rooms have vinyl "hardwood" floors and modern furniture. Bathrooms are spacious, although sink space is limited. Storage is otherwise plentiful.

  • Room with King Bed and en-suite bathroom
  • Double-Size Sleeper Sofa
  • Four chairs
  • Full-size refrigerator
  • In-room washer and dryer
  • Full set of kitchen and cooking utensils, including flatware, pots, pans, plates and bowls.

Okay, they're expensive. But these cabins are pretty great. We especially like the screened porch, which allows you to enjoy Florida's mild nights without worrying about mosquitos. And the fit and finish of everything is very good.

  • Pull-down twin bed for children
  • Private Plunge Pool on Deck

The main bathroom showers have rainforest showerheads, and there's a television embedded in the bathroom mirror. Kids today might not think that's anything special, but adults of a certain age will still think it's awesome.

Copper Creek shares restaurants with the Wilderness Lodge. Dining choices at Wilderness Lodge are informal and tasty. Room service is available.

Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White Artist Point is home to the fixed-price "Story Book Dining at Artist Point" character meal. Characters include Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen—odd choices for a restaurant, as Snow White falls into a coma immediately after eating doctored food. (Apparently Disney’s in on the joke, though, because there’s a “Poison” Apple dessert.)

Whispering Canyon Cafe The all-you-can-eat skillets give hungry folks their money’s worth.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill The quality of the food and the view of the resort area from any given table combine to create an upscale quick-service dining experience. Best of all, guests don’t have to fuss with paper plates and trays of food in the busy dining area; ordered food is delivered to guests at their chosen tables on real dishes with nonplastic silverware (or neatly packaged in to-go containers, if so desired). This family from London thinks Geyser Point is worth a quick boat or bus ride from the Magic Kingdom: We found Geyser Point to be a brilliant place for lunch after a morning in the Magic Kingdom. Although not air-conditioned, it was still cool, very relaxing with nice views and comfortable chairs. Plus it’s quick-service, but you get waited on.

Roaring Fork Quick-service eatery for Wilderness Lodge, serving up typical breakfast fare in the morning and sandwiches (including burgers and barbecue) for lunch and dinner.

Territory Lounge Territory Lounge at the Wilderness Lodge Resort is one of our favorite lounges in one of our favorite resorts in one of our favorite Walt Disney Worlds (whoops, got carried away there). It is well themed, often quiet, and serves good food and good drinks. Tucked into a corner of the massive Lodge lobby, the lounge can be missed easily, but we recommend seeking it out for a pleasant evening. The Wilderness Lodge is meant to resemble grand log buildings found in the United States’ national parks of the west, specifically in Yellowstone and Yosemite. Territory Lounge plays off this general theme wonderfully without being simply a copy of it. While there is a definite western pioneer spirit to the lounge, you will also see a focus on a skill that was very important to the expansion of America: Cartography, the science of mapmaking. Of immediate notice is the fantastic wooden bar, with the rear mirror being held up by two large, carved bears. If you keep looking up, a large map covers the center of the ceiling and is surrounded by beautiful exposed logs. Along the walls are many paintings and pictures, but also several shadow boxes. You should definitely take some time here to examine the boxes, as they contain treasures of America’s past. There are displays of mining tools as well as mapmaking instruments and survey equipment. For the most part, the drinks are the standards of the Disney bar menu, but there are a few things of note, mostly for the beer and wine drinkers. A few of the draught beers are local to Canada and the northwest U.S. such as Moosehead (Canada) and Widmer (Oregon). The wine list is even more special, as it is the list used in Artist Point, the signature restaurant also located in the Wilderness Lodge. Contained on that list are several great selections from the Pacific Northwest. The food at Territory Lounge is also centered on the Pacific Northwest and contains a handful of appetizers like smokey portobello mushroom soup, pulled pork nachos, and a northwest charcuterie plate. They are all high in quality and can easily be made into a meal.

Wilderness Lodge Mercantile Gift shop with a small selection of snacks, drinks, and groceries.

Miss Jenny's In-Room Dining In-room dining for Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Villas.

Refillable Mugs Allows guest self-service soft drink refills from quick-service locations in hotels ( NOT in theme parks ) for $21.99 for the length of stay.

Practical Matters

Check-in is 4:00pm Check-out is 11:00am

All Disney resorts participate in Disney’s Online Check-In program. If you’ve checked-in online and provided a mobile phone number or email address, you will receive your room number electronically. Then you can go straight to the room and use your smart phone or MagicBand to open the door, skipping the lobby altogether.

These rubber and plastic wrist bands can function as your room key, park admission, charge card, and more! MagicBands cost money, but if you'd like a free option you can use the official Disney World app on your phone or request an RFID-embedded card at the front desk.

Park tickets are best purchased online in advance either directly through Disney or via our Least Expensive Ticket Calculator . However, if you arrive without park tickets, head to the concierge desk in the hotel lobby.

Dining reservation are best made online in advance or on your phone or tablet during your visit. You can also use our Disney World Reservation Finder .

Washers and dryers are availabile in laundry facilities at each Disney World hotel. Cost is $3 per wash, and another $3 per dry cycle. A small selection of soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets are also sold, for around $1 each. Only credit/debit cards can be used for payment. For more information, see our Disney World Laundry Facilities page.

If you lose something in a theme park or during your stay at a Disney-operated hotel, visit Disney's Lost and Found website or call (407) 824-4245.

Disney hotels have gifts shops near their lobbies with a decent collection of Disney-branded souvenirs. You will also find basic pharmacy items such as sunscreen, aspirin, allergy and cold medicine, baby diapers and formula, shampoo, and the like. Resort hotels with Deluxe Villa rooms offer an assortment of groceries, as well.

Disney recommends a third party company, Kid's Nite Out , to provide babysitting services at the resort hotels. See our Disney World Child Care page for more information.

Copper Creek is in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. All modern GPS apps, and Google Maps, will have clear driving directions to it. As a backup, look for Disney road signs directing you toward the Magic Kingdom once you're on property, and then look for signs for the Wilderness Lodge or Copper Creek once you're close to the Magic Kingdom.

Disney provides free bus service to all theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. Buses run about every 20 minutes. It's almost always faster to drive your car if you have one, except to the Magic Kingdom.

If you have your own car , it's faster to drive yourself everywhere except the Magic Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom is accessible via boat service . Boats may not operate during thunderstorms.

The easiest way to get to the Magic Kingdom monorail resorts is to take the boat or bus from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom, then either walk or take the resort monorail. For all other resort destinations, the fastest option is an Uber, Lyft, or taxi. Disney's bus service is free but slow, and will probably require you to use an intermediate destination like Disney Springs, to get to your destination. And that can take a couple of hours each way if you're unluckly.

if you have a car, the easiest way to get to Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and other tourist destinations is to drive. Alternatively, Mears Transportation operates shuttle services between the Disney hotels and other theme parks.

Copper Creek is located at Wilderness Lodge , meaning the resort is within walking distance to both Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. There is much more to explore here compared to your typical Disney resort.

All three resorts share the same dining and transportation options, but unlike many other Disney hotels, Copper Creek takes camping to a whole other level thanks to its Deluxe Studios and 26 waterfront Cabins with wraparound porches.

Copper Creek does cost more, but if you’re looking for a more luxurious stay with accommodations that have a kitchen, washer and dryer, and more, then this might be your best option.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Guest Rooms And Bathrooms

Copper Creek has a variety of room offerings. You can choose from two Deluxe Studios, three types of Villas, or one type of Cabin.

You can even sleep up to 12 people, depending on the type of room you book. There are room layouts below, if you’d like to check them out.

There are, of course, the standard amenities, including a hairdryer, TV, free WiFi, a coffee maker, telephone, in-room safe, and an iron and ironing board. There are also a range of views, including the pool, courtyard, woodlands, Bay Lake, Boulder Ridge, or Wilderness Lodge.

The rooms also have both standard and USB outlets scattered around, with some near the beds and TV stands. Better yet, there is even space underneath the beds for storing luggage and whatever else you need to get out of the way.

What makes Copper Creek rooms so special is that they have more amenities than your average Walt Disney World resort, like toasters, microwaves, full-size kitchens or kitchenettes, and some even have a washer, a dryer, and a dishwasher.

As for the bathrooms, each are quite beautiful, spacious, and offer a nice amount of counter space and drawers, cupboards, and cubbies to store belongings.

Now, let’s take a look at the rooms and their offerings.

Disney used to have a service where you were able to purchase items in the parks and then have them delivered to your resort’s gift shop. However, that service has been unavailable for several years now.

Although parking at Disney World resort hotels used to cost a nightly fee for resort guests, Disney has changed their policy so that parking is now  free  for all on-site resort guests. This change was implemented on January 10, 2023.

Valet parking is also available for $33 per night.

Complimentary standard self-parking is available for non-resort guests exploring dining, shopping, entertainment, and other experiences during the day.

We also have a complete  Walt Disney World parking  guide you can browse.

Disney’s Copper Creek Cabins Review + Video Tour at Disney World

We recently had the opportunity (thanks to Disney Vacation Club) to stay in the new Disney’s Copper Creek Cabins at  Disney’s Wilderness Lodge . This resort is one of our favorite Disney Deluxe Resorts. It reminds us of Yellowstone National Park.

There are two sections of the Disney Vacation Club at Wilderness Lodge called Copper Creek Villas and Boulder Ridge. The cabins are located in the Copper Creek section sitting on Bay Lake.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort is the sister property to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is located near Magic Kingdom theme park, just a quick boat ride away. This Disney Resort also has access to Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort via boats.

You also have access to the other Disney Parks (Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Epcot) and Disney Springs via motorcoach transportation. We love this resort at the Walt Disney World Resort.

As a dad, staying in the new Copper Creek Cabins was a unique experience with my family. As they say to DVC members, “Welcome home,” this truly was a home away from home, unlike any other Disney World Deluxe hotel.

Disney’s Copper Creek Cabins

The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins officially opened in July of 2017, but they still have that “new home” smell and feeling.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

Inspired by the rich history of mining and railroads of the Pacific Northwest, the cabins theme really spoke to me, as I grew up in a railroad family.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

The Copper Creek Cabins made a great home for our family. The living room had a spectacular (floor to ceiling) window view of Bay Lake. The living room featured plenty of seating. They even have a queen-size sleeper sofa and twin sleeper chair. The fully equipped kitchen is next to the living with a huge kitchen table and bar seating.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

The cabins have two bedrooms that can sleep up to 8 people (including the couch in the living room). One bedroom features a king-size bed and bathroom. The second bedroom has a Queen Bed and a pull down bed. Disney’s Copper Creek cabins are great for a multi-generational family getaway, a family reunion, or even to share with your friends.

The cabins feature a full kitchen that includes a full size (I’d call it extra sized!) refrigerator.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

The detail throughout the cabin was truly up to Disney standards. They even have a “copper creek” running down the quartz countertops.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

The Copper Creek Cabins feature a wraparound patio that includes a fireplace, picnic table, and a spa where you can relax in the evenings, while the Electrical Water Pageant floats by your cabin.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

The luxury continues in the bedrooms and baths.

Disney’s Copper Creek Cabins Review

Disney Vacation Club really stepped it up with the Copper Creek Cabins. I’ve been in the bungalows at the Polynesian Village Resort and the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs. These cabins take a big step up from those DVC stand-alone offerings. Other than maybe a Grand Villa at a DVC property, these may be the nicest accommodations available.

From a dad’s perspective, they also provided many of those rare opportunities to make memories with your children.

We baked cookies in the oven in the fully equipped kitchen. We ate the cookies in front of the fireplace in the living room. Just relaxing with the family. We don’t even bake cookies at home. This was a special night, just hanging out with the kids.

Every night, we sat in the hot tub spa with the kids to enjoy the parade and fireworks; and to let our muscles relax a bit from the day’s activities.

We took a bike ride, as a family to Fort Wilderness.

The kids each had their own bed. There was even a queen-size sleeper sofa for extra family members. No fighting; well, other than over who got to sleep in the Chip ‘n Dale pull-down bed.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

No video games, no laptops, very little TV. Just creating great family memories that will last a lifetime. It seemed like we were truly in a home away from home that allowed us to disconnect and just enjoy time together, as a family.

Disney's Copper Creek Cabins

Disney’s Copper Creek Resort Amenities

Disney’s Copper Creek Cabins are in the middle of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. There are so many amazing dining options at this resort, including Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Whispering Canyon Cafe. You can choose to dine in at your cabin or enjoy a meal at one of these restaurants.

As part of the Disney Vacation Club, you can dip in the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool or Copper Creek Springs Pool. We love the waterslide at this pool! You can even watch the geyser go off every hour from the pool. If you need a little pampering, you can even pop into the salon by the pool. You can walk over to Roaring Fork if you want a quick Mickey Mouse ice cream bar or lunch.

In the evening hours, you can enjoy s’mores at a campfire or movies under the stars.

Nothing is more important to me, as a dad than that precious, fleeting time you get together with your kids. The Copper Creek Cabins provided that time to me, unlike many of the other accommodations we typically book.

This is Disney Resort vacation (part of the DVC Resorts) will stick in my memories for years to come.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
