Joey attempts to eat a jar of Nutella, Hands free in 3 minutes! WOoOO! WOooO! WOoOO! Written/Filmed/Edited by Joey

The description was later updated in 2016, when Joey became aware of the popularity of the video, changing it to the more glorifying and sensationalist: " The Epic Viral Video that started it all. The Original Nutella Food Challenge! Joey attempts to eat a jar of Nutella, Hands Free, in 3 minutes! ". The video was also updated with a new thumbnail.

It begins with Joey (notably wearing an already unwashed, sullied shirt for the occasion, with some mystery stains on his left shoulder) introducing himself and the challenge he is going to take on. Once he begins, he makes strange noises throughout the video, all the while plastering his entire mug in the sugar-laden paste. During the video, he begins breathing laboriously, as if the task of devouring a pile of Nutella without the use of hands or utensils had become a physically demanding exercise, though this hardly has any effect on the speed with which he greedily licks up the creamy goodness. He continues with these noises until he let's out a bizarre "BAH!", signifying that even he has reached his breaking point. From here on out, he starts coughing and gagging; he eventually gives up, resulting in failure, with nothing to show for except a chocolatey, brown-nosed face. Joey then does his outro, concluding the video.

• This is one of two food challenges to not have been made private by Joey, the other being " Powdered Doughnuts Food Challenge!...by Joey's World Tour ". However, it is worth noting that it was unlisted along with the other videos at one point, but it was later reinstated along with an updated thumbnail and description, though now with the comment section and rating system disabled. Joey likely did this due to the Nutella challenge being the most popular and most frequently reuploaded of his food challenge videos.
• This was the first video to feature Joey's custom Mickey Mouse hat, also seen in the 200,000 Subscriber Carolina Reaper Challenge and the Wasabi Challenge .
• This video is the most disliked on the JoeysWorldTour channel, featuring a like/dislike ratio of 16,182 likes / 17,243 dislikes in 2016, which equaled to a cut of roughly 48% likes and 52% dislikes.

Joseph "Joey" Hernandez (born: April 22, 1964 ( 1964-04-22 ) [age 59] ), better known online as JoeysWorldTour , is an American YouTuber , food reviewer, vlogger , and chef best known for his food reviews and challenges.

Early life [ ].

Joey was born on a Wednesday of April 22, 1964. He is of Mexican descent and has said that he grew up in the Bay Area and in San Diego. It is not clear where he lived first or when he moved, but he has said that moving away from San Diego was one of the two worst mistakes he has made in his life. He was raised Roman Catholic.

Joey studied at Harvard in the early 1990s, graduating with an associate's degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training. He previously attended Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA, where he studied Political Science and Anthropology. He has stated that he also attended San Diego State University.

Culinary career [ ]

Joey spent many years in the restaurant industry as a manager of several establishments. Some of his jobs included Manager/Owner of The Burrito Factory, Sous Chef at Umunhum Food & Wine Restaurant, Pastry Chef at The Village Cafe, and Kitchen Manager at Charlie Blair's Pizza & Grill. He cooked with Michelin Star chefs David Kinch of Manresa and Michael Miller of Trevese.

Joey also wrote a blog called "Sublime Flavor!". It began in 2008 and ended in 2013 when the domain expired. The blog's tagline was "A global food and wine blog dotted with mouthwatering recipes, musings, and reviews!" On the "About" page, Joey wrote "The goal of this site is to provide you insights, recipes and musings about food, wine, life and dessert!" The early days of the blog featured Joey's original recipes and reports about local food businesses. Later, it evolved to feature mostly recipes from other sites and news about the food industry.

Since 2012, Joey has worked as a personal chef and caterer for Sublime Flavor Catering.

YouTube career [ ]

The JoeysWorldTour YouTube account was started on April 20, 2007.

Joey has said that he didn't know he was going to be doing food reviews, otherwise he would have called the channel something else, like Joey's Food Reviews.

The first video uploaded to the channel was "A Cannery Row Seagull" on February 6, 2011. The next video was not uploaded until June 11, 2012 [this does not include any videos that have since been deleted or made private]. The early days of the channel featured more food challenges, cooking demonstrations, and non-food-related videos. Uploads become more frequent in mid-2012 and 2013.

Joey's first food review "KFC Boneless Chicken REVIEWED!" was uploaded on April 14, 2013. The channel subsequently became more focused on food reviews.

Joey has said that he got into YouTube food reviews "by accident." He was between jobs in 2012 and began uploading food challenges and cooking videos to pass the time. One day, he decided to do a fast-food review in his car. Initially, he was accused of copying YouTube user Daym Drops , who uses a similar format for his videos. However, Joey contacted Daym and received his "blessing" and support, and decided to continue doing reviews.

Joey continued with regular uploads of food reviews and gained more views and subscribers. On May 8 2013, Joey told his viewers his channel had just hit 200 subscribers, and on May 11, he stated that it had "close to 300 subscribers." He said he hoped to hit 1,000 "someday."

At some point in late 2013 or early 2014, Joeys became affiliated with Daym Drops as a member of #TeamDaym. The first video to feature the #TeamDaym logo was "Baskin-Robbins Movie Theater Popcorn Ice Cream REVIEW!" on January 14, 2014.

As the channel became more popular, the video upload rate increased to 3 per week (uploading on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

In 2016, the channel continued to grow, and a new influx of viewers came in as Joey was featured in videos by Pyrocynical and LeafyIsHere . This helped propel Joey to internet meme status. In May 2016, Joey reached 100,000 subscribers. This burst in popularity helped Joey become one of the most prominent food reviewers on YouTube at the time; fellow food reviewer TheReportOfTheWeek (Reviewbrah) acknowledged Joey as his "biggest competition", though he denied any serious rivalry or bad blood between them. Food reviews [ ]

Joey reviews a food or drink item. These videos are branded as "Joey's Super Kool Food Reviews" and make up the vast majority of the channel.

Joey speaks to his viewers on various subjects.

Food challenges [ ]

Joey attempts a food-related challenge, like eating an entire jar of Nutella without using his hands. Several of these videos have been set as private and are no longer viewable on the channel.

Cooking with Joey [ ]

Joey demonstrates how to cook a recipe.

Joey visits an event or location (examples include Disneyland and WrestleMania Axxess).

Reception [ ]

The channel has received mainly negative reviews. Most criticized him for his poor eating habits, enormous appetite, and his unhealthy lifestyle. On April 24, 2016, Joey uploaded a food review of Burger King’s chicken onion rings. That video gained negative feedback due to Joey complaining for more than half the video that Burger King gave him the incorrect box. The video has over 4,000 dislikes as of April 2020, making it one of the worst performing food reviews on his channel, reception wise. Joey typically ignores the negative feedback he receives nowadays, though he did respond to a few of them in the early days of his channel.

Production and filming [ ]

Most of Joey's food reviews are filmed in his vehicles. He appears to have two trucks, a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Ford pickup. He tries to drive to an isolated location where he won't be seen making the video. [3]

To film the video, he places the camera on a tripod between the seat and the dashboard. In many reviews, he places the food on the dashboard before eating it and turns the camera around to shoot a closeup of the food. The video then cuts to Joey's face again, giving him an opportunity to say his famous catchphrase, "I'm back!". [3]

In 2013, Joey showed his viewers that he wrote down the name of every subscriber to his channel. Subscribers who were "haters" or who cyberbullied other users received an asterisk next to their name. It is unknown if Joey still writes down every subscriber to this day. The same notebook also contained notes for his reviews. [3]

Revenue [ ]

It is unknown how much Joey earns from his videos. He has stated that his YouTube income does not cover his expenses, and he still works as a chef and caterer on the weekends. [4] [5]

In the Media [ ]

Joey and JoeysWorldTour have been featured in several media reports.

A segment on Comedy Central's Tosh.0 was one of the first to draw public attention to the channel. It featured clips from one of his food challenges. Other television appearances include Upload with Shaquille O' Neal on truTV and Science of Stupid on the National Geographic Channel.

JoeysWorldTour was featured in an article in the San Jose Mercury News newspaper, " Move over Hollywood, this is the age of the YouTube star ," published on October 11, 2015.

A fan community has grown around the JoeysWorldTour channel. Fans may refer to themselves as "Broeys". Fan communities have been set up on Facebook and Reddit . Joey's fans have also created a JoeysWorldTour wiki on Wikia. Joey's videos have spawned many remixes, parodies, memes, some criticism, and YouTube Poops . In 2019, a rapper name Lil JM made a whole album dedicated to Joey called "It's a Wonderful Woo."

These murals are about a block or so away from Fort Lauderdale Beach not far from the intersection of A1A and Sunrise Boulevard.

To find them, look for the Primanti Brothers pizza place on A1A and wander around the shops and parking lots behind there.

I didn’t see any TV cops cruising down the street in a Ferrari on my most recent visit but I always enjoy strolling through the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida.

The Essex Paint Jam Volume 4 attracted some of the area’s top local muralists back to Essex Modern City on the near East Side not far from downtown San Antonio and just a little ways south of the Alamodome.

While new work was going up, there were plenty of existing paintings to attract local art fans on the walls of the former manufacturing building near downtown.

Fall colors in Zion National Park

I was probably a week or two late to see the peak of the leaves changing colors, but there was still a lot of bright yellow in the trees. That made a vivid contrast to the red and tan striations of the rocky terrain in the park.

You never know what weather you’ll get when you book your vacation a few weeks out but I was fortunate to make the drive on a clear and sunny November day.

There were no traffic issues until I tried to park at the Zion National Park visitor’s center. I guess you need to get there early but I rolled in after 1 p.m. and the parking lot was completely full.

Theatres in Moscow

Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.

There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.

A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.

Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.

The Bolshoi Theatre

The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.

If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.

In August the Bolshoi is closed.

The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre

This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.

The Novaya Opera

“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center

The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory

These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)

This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . In a statement to Billboard on Monday (April 15), a spokesperson for CBS explained the snafu, writing, “A network programming timing error ended last night’s Billy Joel special approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. We apologize to Mr. Joel, his fans, our affiliated stations, and our audience whose viewing experience was interrupted during the last song. Due to the overwhelming demand from his legion of fans,  BILLY JOEL: THE 100TH – LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN will be rebroadcast in its entirety on CBS on April 19th at 9:00PM ET/PT.”

The abrupt cut-away from the broadcast had some X users comparing to the infamous moment in 1968 when NBC jumped from a nail-biter New York Jets/Oakland Raiders football game to switch to children’s movie Heidi .

In fan video of the moment, Joel is leaning into the denouement of the song, singing, “And the piano it sounds like a carnival/ And the microphone smells like a beer,” amid footage of fans at the MSG show singing along and cheering as the screen abruptly jumps to local news. To be fair, the cut-off came near the end of the final verse, with just a round of choruses, and around a minute, left to go. According to one report, the edit only affected viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones.

Before CBS’ official statement, a staffer at one of the affected stations offered an apology, with 10 Tampa Bay sports director Evan Closky writing , “As a man who grew up right next to Billy Joel’s hometown, who went to The Last Play at Shea, it was my duty to apologize to everyone about cutting off our telecast of Billy Joel tonight. Not to get into the weeds, but there was a special report after the Masters and it wasn’t accounted for by the powers that be beyond this building.”

Joel will be back at MSG on April 26 and May 9 for two more gigs at his home-away-from-home, before hitting the road this summer for a run of baseball stadium gigs that run through November.
