At Champagne’s Cajun Swamp Tours, visitors have the unique opportunity to come up close and personal with the mystique of the bayou. One of the most exhilarating experiences is holding a baby alligator, feeling its cool, textured skin beneath your fingers and the surprisingly gentle grip of its tiny claws. As you cradle this young reptile, you are reminded of the delicate balance of life in the swamp, where nature’s ferocity and vulnerability coexist. It’s a moment where the wild heart of Louisiana can be felt pulsing in the palm of your hand.please ask, we don’t know who wants to this, so please ask.

Lake Martin is a favorite destination for Bird Watching or Birding for tourists from all over the world. This flooded forest is home to 205 different species of birds and is one of the largest nesting areas of wading birds. You will see many species of birds, such as Borrowed Owls, Great-horned Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers, Anhinga, Cormorants, Wood Ducks, Yellow (and Black) crowned Night Herons, & The Great Blue Heron. Other wildlife may be seen such as nutria, frogs, snakes, and best of all, gaint alligators.

Along the way, we may see alligators 3 to 14 ft long. Our experienced guides will explain how Cajuns harvested alligator eggs & alligators.   You will see Cajuns fishing for Sac-A-lait (Means Sack of Milk), crappie to others in the world along with Catfish, Bream, Largemouth Bass and many other favorite native sports fish.

We will traverse very dense aquatic native, and non-native vegetation to Southern Louisiana in our comfortable tour boats. There are many bird watching opportunities with large amounts of alligators.

Cajun Country Swamp Tours

   Swamp Tour -$25 per seat - 1.5 hrs - Lafayette - Louisiana

For a swamp tour that is more than just a boat ride.

About Cajun Country Swamp Tours

Owner, Walter “Butch” Guchereau, grew up on a small Cajun farm located on the banks of the Bayou Teche in Breaux Bridge, La. From early on his father introduced him to the swamps of Cajun Country. By hunting, sport and commercial fishing and just plain exploring he came to know the swamps like his own backyard. Butch put himself through college by working summers on dredge boats located in Louisiana on the Mississippi and Atchafalaya River systems where he experienced the dynamic forces that have built the land of Acadiana over the last 25,000 years. He learned how the rivers, bayous, wetland areas, man’s interventions and coastal erosion are all intertwined and constantly changing. The time he has spent in the swamplands of Cajun Country coupled with college degrees in Zoology and Botany has given Butch a rich insight into the ecology of Louisiana swamps.

This knowledge has been taught to Cajun Country Swamp Tour boat captains to make your tour educational, entertaining, and enjoyable ( More than just a boat ride ). Your swamp tour is taken personally by us because we know that for many of you this maybe your only trip to Cajun Country and it is important to us that everyone’s swamp tour in Cajun Country is both pleasurable and memorable.

Our tour boats are open Cajun crawfish skiffs powered by an extremely quiet, environmentally friendly, 4-stroke outboard motor with the water intake fixed so that shallow water muck and thick vegetation are not a problem. This very quiet motor, and the relatively small size of the swamp tour boat allows for some great wildlife viewing.

My swamp tour guides and I have spent most of our lives either learning about or earning an income from the swamps of Cajun Co untry - this is where we want to be. The swamps are our passion and Joie de Vivre (Joy of Life), and sharing a few hours with people who love and enjoy nature and the great outdoors is an enjoyable experience for us. Our personal experiences and observations along with my educational background enables us to give you an insightful eco-journey into the swamplands of the Atchafalaya Basin that is educational, enjoyable and entertaining; and just maybe with a serving of Cajun Hospitality this will not be your only trip to Cajun Country.

Located only minutes from Lafayette; an hour from Baton Rouge; 1.5 hours from Lake Charles; and 2.5 hrs from New Orleans, Louisiana... In the heart of Cajun Country!

"Stopped by accident really, but what an unexpected blessing!! Jason was our tour guide and he is so wonderful! Showed and told us all about the gators, turtles, birds, trees, invasive aquatics, and even an awesome bird identification app!! He was so nice about taking us closer to see what we couldn't, and he showed infinite patience 😁. We're from Minnesota and he didn't mind any of our questions whatsoever....highly recommended, best part of our 7-day trip to Louisiana so far. Thank you!!!!"

We had the best time and will cherish this memory forever, "we came from colombia and loved the experience and the people. unbelievable nature scenes and jimmy was the most lovely, interesting tour guide. you can feel his love for nature and preservation <3 we had the best time and will cherish this memories forever.", cannot recommend it enough, "it was amazing jason, our guide, moved the boat around pointing out alligators, turtles and birds stopping to let us take photos.this was one of the highlights of our holiday, cannot recommend it enough.".

The Views Are Incredible

"absolutely wonderful. the swamp is stunning with plenty of old cypress rooted in the water. the view are incredible. i wish the owner would have accepted to open to shades on the boat because it was so sunny but he didn’t want, disappointing when it’s 100f… also as much as i love having close encounter with animals, i am not a big fan to disrupt their life. we spent time chasing baby alligators close to their nest…not needed. we saw plenty of birds, alligators,…but the best remains the “floating forest”", "5 stars we enjoyed our swamp tour thoroughly. jason was great he knew his way around and knew where to take us. we saw a ton of alligators and local birds. he was patient and knowledgeable definitely book your tour ahead of time to make sure you get on the boat when you want.".

The 9 Best Louisiana Swamp Tours of 2024

Explore Louisiana's famous swamps and bayous on one of these tours.

The Best Louisiana Swamp Tours

Getty Images

Swamp tours are a popular activity for any visit to Louisiana. In addition to alligators, Louisiana's swamps and bayous offer a chance to see bears, beavers, foxes, nutrias and racoons, as well as dozens of amphibian and reptile species.

We've determined the following Louisiana swamp tours to be the best based on traveler reviews and expert opinion. What's more, several of the recommended tour companies are located close to New Orleans and offer transportation.

Airboat Adventures – Small Boat Tours: Lafitte

Price: From $89 Duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes

One of the best swamp tours near New Orleans , this small-group excursion accommodates up to 10 passengers and features a multitude of reptiles, birds and other swamp residents. Riders frequently report enjoying the high-speed trips as well as the experienced guides and, of course, the plentiful wildlife on display.

Shuttle service between New Orleans hotels and Airboat Adventures' Lafitte location is available for an additional fee of $30 per person. Note: Airboat passengers must be at least 5 years old. The company also offers tours in its larger airboats and pontoon boats.

Check prices and availability on:

Cajun Encounters – VIP Swamp Tour: Slidell

Price: From $94.99 Duration: Two hours

This small-group excursion traverses the Honey Island Swamp via a flat-bottomed boat, which has the ability to maneuver narrow waterways. The excursion puts travelers within close proximity of alligators, bears, river otters and numerous types of birds, including great horned owls and bald eagles. Tour-takers consistently find the boat guides informative and entertaining, and enjoy the array of observable plant and animal life.

Tours are available several times daily. Cajun Encounters, located on the West Pearl River in Slidell, also offers pickup service from several French Quarter hotels as well as its New Orleans tour office ( 941 Decatur Street ) for an additional fee. Note that children under age 13 are not permitted on this tour; however, they are allowed on the company's larger swamp tours.

New Orleans Kayak Tours – Manchac Swamp Kayak Tour: Ponchatoula

Price: From $59 Duration: 2.5 hours

Many swamp tours rely on motorized boats to navigate Louisiana's waterways, but this tour uses kayaks to explore the peaceful Manchac Swamp. Thanks to the swamp's calm waters, this outing is suitable for paddlers of all experience levels. Trip-takers tend to appreciate the guides' educational commentary, as well as the frequent animal sightings. If you're interested in the paranormal, ask your tour guide about the haunted history of Manchac Swamp — it is believed to be haunted by a voodoo priestess.

Departure times may vary by season, but start times of 9 and 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. are typical. From March through September, there's an additional 4:30 p.m. departure time. Transportation from New Orleans (the Rampart Treehouse/10 pizza ) is available for an additional $25 per person.

Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours – Swamp Airboat Tour: Marrero

Price: From $98 Duration: 1 hour and 45 minutes

Traverse southern Louisiana's swamps and bayous and the canals connecting them aboard a powerful airboat on this top-rated expedition. Tour-takers generally enjoy both the numerous wildlife sightings and the informed commentary by the guides.

Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours operates multiple airboats, with tours departing at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Winter hours vary. Transportation between select New Orleans locations and the company's Marrero base is available for an additional fee. Hotel pickup starts up to 90 minutes before tour departure times. Note: Children younger than 5 are not permitted on this tour.

Hotel pickup in New Orleans is available for an additional fee. Boat rides start at 9:40 a.m., 12:10 p.m. and 2:10 p.m. daily with a seasonal 4:15 departure time, and hotel pickups start about 90 minutes prior to start time. In addition to swamp tours, the company also offers plantation and airboat tours, among other options.

Ultimate Swamp Adventures – Covered Pontoon Swamp Boat Tour: Westwego

Price: Adults from $32; kids from $15 Duration: 2 hours

Cruise Bayou Segnette on this excursion, which features captains versed in the local culture and habitat. The Best Cajun Swamp Adventures in the Louisiana Bayou

By: Author Corinne Vail

Posted on Published: 11 Dec 2022  - Last updated: 3 Jan 2024

Are you heading to Louisiana? The one thing everyone will tell you is to take a swamp tour. Taking one or more of our recommended Louisiana swamp tours is a must . I’ve even taken four in one week before, they’re so addictive!

What’s in this post?

  • Swamp Adventures
  • Alligator Tour
  • The Wildlife You’ll See

Swamp Adventures in Louisiana

Gator tours or Louisiana swamp tours are a must-do when visiting this unique southern US state. I was visiting Louisiana for about ten days, visiting amazing sights and eating as much Cajun food as I could. And during that time, we discovered plenty of fun things to do in Lafayette , like visiting Vermillionville , taking a cooking lesson at Spuddy’s Cajun Foods , and doing all kinds of fun things in New Orleans , I took no less than four swamp tours. I just couldn’t get enough.

Sunrise over Lake Martin, Louisiana.

We were staying in Lafayette, the smaller and maybe tastier cousin to New Orleans, so one of our first stops was the visitor’s center. The ladies told us all the things to do in the city, but they kept coming back to taking a true Louisiana swamp tour. Apparently one is just not enough. They laughingly suggested one per day.

I have to say, after my first one, I was convinced. Taking swamp tours gets you out into nature, into the stunning vistas of the mossy Louisiana swamps, surrounded by beautiful bald cypress trees. I was enchanted.

While there, I took a private small boat tour, a kayak swamp tour, and two larger swamp boat tours in two different locations. I can honestly say, every single tour was different and worth the money. All of them were fantastic.

Along the way, we learned quite a bit about the flora and fauna from our tour guides. Of course, a lot of what the guides shared depended on their own personality and personal experience in the swamps and bayous. With their musical Cajun accents, knowledge of local lore, plant and animal life, I learned something new each time.

As you know, I love a good animal photo, and each tour was conducted at different times of the day. This facilitated seeing the wildlife in a variety of different behaviors and poses and in different locations. Each tour gave me multiple amazing shots.

We saw many alligators on our gator tour of the Louisiana swamps.

All Kinds of Swamp Adventures

During my week in Lafayette, I was able to really get a good feel of the many types of swamp adventures available. Our first tour was a private charter that included Ginny, Jim, the guide, and myself on the boat. That’s it, and aside from a few distant kayakers and anglers, it felt like we had the whole swamp to ourselves. We were in a small motored swamp boat, and our guide was able to turn the motor off and glide in close to a number of animals and alligators before they got spooked and took off.

Lake Martin's mossy trees are indicative of a true Louisiana swamp.

Kayak Swamp Tour

The second tour I did with Jim and it was my favorite–a kayak swamp tour. This is because I was out there to photograph and see lots of animals and birds. We started right before sunrise and it was mesmerizing to watch the whole area glow in the light of the rising sun and come to life right before our eyes and ears.

The great thing about the kayak tour was the fact that Jim and I could go where we wanted to and not have to rely on the guide to drive us. The kayak was also very quiet and we were able to get up close to many birds.

The downside of the kayak tour was we went too early to see many alligators. We did see some further away, but the mid-day tours provided so many more gator sightings.

We did have one harrowing experience with an alligator as we were finishing our paddle. A gator was just about to catch a garfish for his meal, sans Tabasco unfortunately, and he actually came right out of the water looking like he was going to land in our boat. Luckily he was just as startled as we were and hightailed it in the other direction. I do hope he was able to find breakfast after that.

Down on the bayou, be on the lookout for alligators.

Alligator Tours

The last two tours I did were both gator tours. Let’s face it, most people taking a swamp tour are there to see alligators and expectations run high. We were there in an October which, thankfully, is right before they go into their dormancy period. For a few months each winter, usually from about November to February, alligators go into a burrow and wait for the cold weather to pass.

So, we were extremely happy to see plenty of alligators on our swamp boat tours. On one we saw a mother who was watching over her brood of month-old hatchlings and the guide also fed the gators chicken so they were all around the boat.

Both guides on these larger group tours told us the names and personalities of each alligator, as well as plenty of stories and local lore. The gator tours were about an hour long, and probably the most popular type of tour to take.

Lake Martin in fall, with a blue heron and white egret.

The Wildlife

If you are like me and love seeing animals and birds in their natural habitats, you will love taking a swamp boat tour.

We saw so many birds, like anhingas, egrets, and blue herons. Let alone a real Woody Woodpecker (pileated woodpecker) and of course some I couldn’t capture on camera.

Anhinga drying its wings in Lake Martin, Louisiana.

We also saw plenty of other wildlife, like spiders, wasps, turtles, raccoons, and, of course, alligators galore.

Baby raccoon seen on our motor boat swamp tour of Louisiana.

Final Thoughts

If you are visiting Louisiana, take it from me, and the ladies in the Lafayette visitor center, and take a few (definitely more than one) Cajun Swamp Tour. You won’t regret it and you will see such amazing things. Pick different times of the day as well as different operators to really get a good taste of what’s out there.

Note: We’d love to thank our friends at TBEX and Lafayette Travel for sponsoring us on some of these amazing swamp tours.

What our Customers Say

Awesome tour with a great guide. They do have a small store with bathrooms and drinks and also have a bar attached to the building. There is a large covered patio to wait in. The gators got pretty close to the boat after the guide was able to call some in. Thankfully the boats are covered and the bugs are not bad during the day. Will definitely come back for another trip!

Ernesto Amador

I can literally not say enough good things about our experience with Atchafalaya Basin Landing Airboat Swamp Tours. Absolutely worth the money we spent for the tour, even if we hadn't had a close experience with a huge freaking alligator.

Jenny Wilson

Had a great time on the airboat tour! My family and I enjoyed ourselves and learned a few things while we were here too. We got to meet gators like Peanut, Hercules, and Clarence. Beautiful sights on the bayou and an awesome tour guide, Nick. It was fun and a MUST for airboat rides. Good for the kids and handicap friendly. Highly recommend!

Looking for an adventure in the Bayou?

The Distillery & Gator Cove

Here at Wildcat Brothers Distilling, we don’t claim to have reinvented the wheel. We’re just trying to conserve our ancestors’ memories by honoring their traditions; with natural ingredients, local resources, and insanely delicious rum.

We are the first distillery in Acadiana, running our still for our first production of spirits in 2011. Our rums are produced by hand in small batches with no importation of foreign molasses or sugarcane byproducts. Just the way it should be. And people have taken notice as our Sweet Crude rum won the distinguished Washington Cup Award within just a few years of our production.

Image

As we pursue our passion for craft distilling, we are expanding our pursuits through the purchase of a local, historical property called Gator Cove. For decades, this property has had the hearts of locals and tourists alike as a place for crawfish boils and alligator sightings, and we intend to grow that nostalgia into a craft cultural center. Throughout 2020, our distillery production will grow to include limited releases, expanding spirits and partnerships with our expanding company to include Wildcat Brothers Foods and good ol’ Acadiana festivals, tours and Cajun cooking classes. Just imagine if PBS was a person and had a few cocktails. Then that’s Wildcat Brothers at Gator Cove.

If you love our craft, we want you to experience it, so visit our distillery and look out for our future expansion into Gator Cove this year.

Group Travel Leader

By Rachel Crick

OnSite in Lafayette, Louisiana

Forged from a time of exile and pain for the acadians, a distinct culture and a sense of resilience emerged in southern louisiana..

That culture is what 10 travel planner readers of The Group Travel Leader explored during a five-day familiarization tour of the Lafayette area hosted by Explore Louisiana and Lafayette Travel. The group listened to the distinct tones of accordions, tasted bold and spicy foods, and heard a language laced with influences of French and other tongues. The dazzling cultural mosaic they experienced defines Acadiana, or French Louisiana. It’s often called Cajun country, and the city of Lafayette is at its core.

For ideas on how to craft lively tours of this spirited region, check out the FAM tour’s itinerary.

• Arrive in Lafayette

• acadian cultural center, • vermilionville, • daiquiris supreme, • dinner at antoni’s italian café.

After they arrived in Lafayette and checked into the Comfort Suites Oil Center, group travel planners headed to the Acadian Cultural Center to watch a short documentary about the area’s cultural history and tour its museum. During a guided tour at the nearby Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park, they saw authentic, centuries-old Cajun dwellings, watched demonstrations of quilting, listened to Cajun music, and learned about everyday life in the village along the bayou. There was also time for a stop in the gift shop, stocked with goods made by local artisans and items tied to Cajun culture. During a refreshment break at Daiquiris Supreme, they chose among a variety of flavored daiquiris. The day ended with hearty Italian meals and specialty cocktails at Antoni’s Italian Café.

• Tabasco Tour and Country Store

• shadows-on-the-teche in new iberia, • lunch at cane river pecan company, • rip van winkle gardens, • photo op at steen’s syrup, • dinner at crawfish haven, • drinks at whiskey and vine.

After breakfast at the Comfort Suites Oil Center, which provided overnight accommodations for the FAM tour, the group headed to Avery Island to see where Tabasco sauce is made. They explored the factory and sampled sauces in the country store, then headed to New Iberia to tour Shadows-on-the-Teche, a 19th-century sugar plantation that is now a historic house museum. For lunch, it was off to Cane River Pecan Company for gumbo, sandwiches and decadent slices of pie followed by a walk through the stunning Rip Van Winkle Gardens. There was time for a quick photo-op in front of the massive yellow Steen’s Syrup silos before heading to Vermilionville for a tour and a crawfish boil at Crawfish Haven, a crawfish farm that lets visitors help with the catch. Drinks and desserts back in Lafayette at Whiskey and Vine ended the day.

Tabasco Brand Factory Tour and Country Store

All Tabasco Brand hot sauce comes from Avery Island, home to the Tabasco Brand factory, museum, country store and restaurant. The McIlhenny family has been producing Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce since 1868. Today, the company makes nine sauces. The peppers are grown on the island, and the sauce is barrel-aged and bottled there too. Visitors to the island can watch production, tour a museum dedicated to the business’s history and visit the country store, which offers tastings.

Shadows-on-the-Teche

Shadows-on-the-Teche is a historic property in New Iberia on the banks of the Bayou Teche. Its Greek revival mansion was built for sugar plantation owners David and Mary Weeks in 1834 and was home to several generations of the Weeks family, as well as enslaved and formerly enslaved people. Tour guides tell the stories of those who lived on the property and describe how Louisiana society changed during 19th and 20th centuries.

Rip Van Winkle Gardens

Rip Van Winkle Gardens’ 15 acres of lush gardens, historic home and visitors center are on Jefferson Island. The gardens are home to avian life including colorful peacocks, exotic plants and centuries-old oak trees covered with Spanish moss. The land was purchased by actor Joseph Jefferson in 1870 and has changed hands several times. Walks around the gardens, a film about the land and its history and a stop at the gift shop are options.

Crawfish Haven

Whether you call them crawfish, crawdads, crayfish or mudbugs, one thing is for sure — Acadiana’s culinary scene would be incomplete without them. At the family-owned Crawfish Haven, small groups can go out in a a boat and watch or help pull in the crawfish traps. It’s a firsthand lesson in crawfish farming and best practices. Visitors can also learn how to eat crawfish like an Acadian during a crawfish boil.

• Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at Moncus Park

• tour downtown lafayette, • lunch at acadian superette, • atchafalaya basin landing swamp tours, • shopping in downtown breaux bridge, • longfellow-evangeline state historic site in st. martinville, • cajun dance lessons, • dinner at randol’s.

The third day of the FAM began at the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market in Moncus Park, where local artisans sell food, jewelry, art, clothing and home goods. The market was followed by a tour of downtown Lafayette including a photo-op at the Lafayette sign. House-smoked meats were the specialty at the lunch stop, Acadian Superette, a retro-style diner.. Lunch was followed by an airboat tour of the Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp and a lesson in local wildlife. The afternoon included shopping in downtown Breaux Bridge and a tour of the Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site in St. Martinville. As a prelude to dinner at Randol’s Supper Club, the group had Cajun and Creole dance lessons.

Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market

Every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon, dozens of vendors set up in Moncus Park for the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market. The park was a horse farm that was set to be demolished before Lafayette citizens saved it and came up with a way for the land to serve the community. Market visitors shop for jewelry, art, clothes, canned and jarred foodstuffs, fresh produce, home goods, and food and beverages. Live music and other local events are also held at the park.

Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp Tours

Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp Tours has been taking visitors on bayou explorations since 1999, and it’s now the largest airboat tour operator in the region. Each airboat can take 10-12 passengers through the swamp on a thrilling ride where they’ll see cypress trees draped with Spanish moss, many species of birds and alligators. When the boat reaches the middle of the swamp, the tour guide talks about the swamp’s ecosystem and answers questions.

Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site

The Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site became the Louisiana’s first state park in 1934, but the land on which it sits has been occupied for many centuries. Once used by indigenous peoples as a hunting ground, it was later a cattle ranch and then established by the Acadians. The historic site includes Maison Olivier, a raised Creole cottage built in the early 1800s, as well as a reproduction of an Acadian farmstead with a pasture, barn, outdoor kitchen and slave quarters. Guided tours   delve into life on the plantation for all who lived there, as well as Creole and Acadian culture.

Cajun and Zydeco Dance Lessons

Dancing is a big part of Cajun and Creole culture. To learn traditional Cajun dances, groups can schedule private dancing lessons with Moriah Hargrave, a Lafayette native, professional dancer and founder of local dance business LA Danser. She keeps groups on their toes, teaching them the Cajun Two-Step, Creole Two-Step, waltzes and many other kinds of dances.

• Gator Chateau

• crowley city hall and grand opera house of the south, • lunch and tour at kelly’s landing, • mardi gras mask making at vacajun, • zydeco music demonstration at st. landry parish visitor center, • dinner and bowling at rock ‘n’ bowl, • borden’s ice cream.

The fourth day of the FAM began at Gator Chateau, where the group met, held and took photos with alligators before heading to Crowley for a guided tour of Crowley City Hall and its city museum, and the Grand Opera House of the South next door. After a home-cooked lunch and tour at Kelly’s Landing, a family-owned crawfish farm, it was time to make Acadian Mardi Gras masks at VaCajun. before a stop at St. Landry Parish Visitor Center to hear Zydeco music and enjoy light eats. The evening ended with a visit to Lafayette’s Rock ‘n’ Bowl and a treat at the only brick-and-mortar location of Borden’s Ice Cream.

Gator Chateau

Gator Chateau’s free programs support its mission to teach the public about the American alligator’s habitats, eating habits and physiology. Groups can meet baby gators and pet, hold and even take pictures with them. They can also see older alligators that are soon to be released from captivity, as well as a large alligator snapping turtle.

Mardi Gras Mask Making

VaCajun, a brand operated by the Acadia Parish sewing company, Sew What!, helps visitors reconnect with their sense of adventure and creativity. They provide Mardi Gras costumes and masks, which may look a bit different in Acadiana than they do in New Orleans. Groups can tour the shop, then break out the craft supplies and hot glue to make their own Mardi Gras masks. These masks, with bold colors and designs and oversized and exaggerated facial features, are fun to make and even more fun to wear.

Zydeco Music Demonstration

Opelousas, in St. Landry Parish, is the official Zydeco Music Capital of the World, home to an annual festival that celebrates the musical genre. Zydeco is frequently played in dance halls, bars and jam sessions in the area. At the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center, groups can learn more about Zydeco’s rich history, most common instruments and most lauded performers. Zydeco music demos featuring locally known musicians can be arranged so groups can enjoy and clap along.

• Acadian Village and Music Experience

• lunch at adopted dog brewing, • depart lafayette, on the tour’s last day, planners ate breakfast at the hotel, then headed to acadian village, one of the premier cajun cultural sites in lafayette, for   a demonstration of zydeco music and dancing. after a lunch of burgers, flatbreads, wings and craft beverages at adopted dog brewing, they headed for home to begin planning their future group tours to acadiana..
