Haryana is a jewel in the crown of the country India, sharing its capital Chandigarh with the state of Punjab. The Shivalik hills borders the state in the north-east and the Aravalli range towards the south and the commonly spoken language of the natives in this state is Haryanvi. Haryana has a number of sites which dates back to the ancient civilizations of the Vedic era. The state also has the history of being the battleground for the Indian epic Mahabharata and also for the well known Panipat battle.

The state is considered as one of the wealthiest state of the country. The state is wrapped with the presence of a large number of manufacturing industries which deals in the various products and services. Due to the growing number of industries, the state is also tagged as one of the fastest growing states in the country. The industrial locations in this state include, Ambala, Gurgaon, Bhondsi, Faridabad, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Hisar, Sonipat, Samalkha, Sonipat etc.

The salubrious climate of the state, studded with the presence of a large number of old forts, monuments, temples and gardens act as a captivating factor which attracts a large number of tourists to this state, both from within the country and from outside. There are a large number of dry, thorny and deciduous forests which are situated at a large number of places all over the state of Haryana. The state turns into a grass carpet when the monsoons hit the state. However, the intensity of rainfall varies at the various locations of this state. The financial and technological hub of India, Gurgaon is a place situated in Northern India near the capital city of India. Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

One of the most popular weekend getaways near Gurgaon, New Delhi, Noida, and Faridabad, Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is located about 40 km away from the landmark Dhaula Kuan in Delhi. A favourite amongst hikers, nature lovers and bird watching enthusiasts, the bird sanctuary has been declared a National Park by the state government. 

While the landscape and natural beauty of the park is incredible, there are measures being taken in order to ensure better sustainability and vegetation. Dotted with lofty trees, the park is home to birds like Acacia Tortilis, Beris, Acacia Nilotica, Neem and more. One can choose from any of the four towers stationed inside the park, meant to make bird watching easier. The park is also equipped with clean and functioning bathrooms, while clean drinking water facility is also available.

Leisure Valley Park

One of the most underrated tourist places in Gurgaon, the Leisure Valley Park is tucked away in Gurgaon, sector 29. Housing a classic jogging track, garden, sandpit and swings/play area for kids, the park sees a lot of footfall during weekends. The garden carries a quiet little cafe to chill in. 

A handful of musical fountains line the garden pathways, along with a fragrant rose garden, splattered with various floral colours. The Leisure Valley Park is popular amongst kids and youngsters alike and is always bustling with people.

FARM TOURISM POTENTIAL: A STUDY OF HARYANA

Farm tourism, the alternative forms of tourism is continuously growing. Tourists now seek peace and want to explore natural sites and interact with the local community. Through farm tourism, they get chances of learning the cultivation practices and are acquainted with the lifestyle of rural people. Farm tourism is beneficial for both the farm owners/farmers and the locals who get employment and other advantages. Haryana, the northern state of India is famous for its agricultural practices. Eighteen farms in the six districts Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Karnal, Mewat are identified by the government of Haryana. The objective of the study is to explore the potential of farm tourism in Haryana. The study is based on secondary data. It was found that the farm owners are well facilitating the guests. AC rooms, suites halls, deluxe rooms and cottages, conference rooms, a banquet hall and ample open area for theme parties are offered to the guests. Ample opportunities are provided to tourists to participate in local games, walk around nature and observing the farm practices.

This paper is an attempt to identifying the potential of agri-tourism in India by highlights major challenges in this issue with some useful recommendations.

The Maharashtra government had declared the new "agri tourism policy" On 28 th September 2020 which emphasizes the significance of agri tourism advantages for supporting rural financial growth especially sustainable entrepreneurship opportunities for rural women.The main goal of this newly introduced policies to earn 10 per cent per annum income in the tourism sector and achieving 15 per cent share of tourism sector in the state's gross domestic product income. It aims to create one million jobs in this sector till 2025. The paper provides detailed information on newly introduced agri tourism policies .This research paper highlight the Role of State Level Maharashtra agri Tourism Development Committee and helps to know the various benefits provided by Government to agri tourism center.About 55 to 60 % of the people are directly dependent on farming and allied activities. Rural Horticulture, dairy farming, goat and sheep rearing, poultry for the development of farmers in the area. Rearing, silk industry, beekeeping, fisheries etc. are the various allied activities in agriculture sector. Considering this, agricultural tourism can be boosted in rural areas. In the state to provide supplementary occupations to the farmers and to provide peace and prosperity to the urban tourists. Maharashtra government's agro tourism policy is designed at enlightening rural employment, mainly for women and youth. The plan will also provide the essential enhancement to popular and traditional arts, as it will allow visitors to experience rural life situation up close.

Agriculture and its allied activities are on the brink of a change for both the farmers as well as consumers. A plethora of diversified activities amalgamated with scientific methods of cropping are paving a way for a mechanized and secure future. Farm visits, farm stays and trail visits are gradually picking up amongst tourists to experience something different from clichéd sightseeing packages of a destination. The paper focuses on cases of various successful farms from India and integrates them to analyze the sustainability factors in the farms. The paper delves deeper into the short cases and the methodology adopted would be qualitative in nature. Structured and unstructured interviews shall be conducted for the case protagonists and staff for acquiring a synthesis of the theories and the farm practices. Research limitations shall be the fact that all such farms cannot be visited owing to the reasons of difficult terrain and scarcity of time. This paper as an exemplary can help to achieve many other success stories. Agri-tourism with its baby steps and the talisman of research can definitely bring changes in the life of farmers and consumers shall also reap the benefits of it.

Agriculture in Odisha is the mainstay of the majority of the populace and, thus, holds the key to the State's socioeconomic development. Census 2011 shows that 84% of Odisha's households stay in village areas, with agriculture and allied activities as their primary livelihood source. However, as we know that Odisha is vulnerable to various climatic hazards like cyclones, heavy rainfall etc., due to which the share of the Agriculture Sector in the State's GSDP has been declining over the years, so it becomes imperative to think about methods of farm diversification which can support the farmers of Odisha during these times of crisis. Agri tourism is one such opportunity that still needs to be explored by the people of Odisha, despite having tremendous scope for its growth and development. Agriculture (and allied activities, including animal husbandry) is the primary sector of the State economy. This primary sector offers the most potential for generating green-skills-based employment. However, Odisha has been seeing a shift from the rural sector with a noticeable fall in the number of farmers. Workers are leaving the primary sector due to inadequate irrigation, lack of proper skills, the impact of climate extremes, low market price for produce, and inadequate financial support. Not surprisingly, migration from rural Odisha to other states has risen threefold in 10 years. Hence it is evident that to achieve sustainable development rural population must learn skills related to agri entrepreneurship and techniques of farm diversification. As the villages of Odisha have their unique and traditional way of living and farming, it gives immense scope for agri-tourism activities to flourish in Odisha with proper training and skill development workshops. Therefore, this study is an effort to highlight the role and significance of agri entrepreneurship and agri tourism in transforming the socioeconomic condition of people residing in villages of Odisha. It was found that lack of government support and knowledge amongst the locals have restricted the growth of agri tourism in Daringbadi, which can be a great socioeconomic driver for the area.

Agro -tourism is defined as "Travel that combines agricultural or rural settings with products of agricultural operations – all within a tourism experience". Kolhapur district has a great potential to the development of agro-tourism, because of natural conditions and different types of agro products.
