Ticket details for Manchester City USA summer tour

Premier League powerhouse Manchester City is set to play a series of preseason friendlies in the United States this summer. The club’s upcoming tour of the States will be organized in partnership with FC Series.

The organization was previously established as the Florida Cup, an annual soccer exhibition competition held each summer. However, the tournament has since expanded beyond the state of Florida, hence the name change.

While City will feature at the competition, an announcement regarding specific details on the matches will be revealed in March. This includes exact opponents, dates, and ticket details.

“This marks the fourth consecutive year the [FC Series] event will host top European teams in Central Florida and throughout the United States during the preseason window,” read an official statement by the organizers.

“This year’s summer tour announcement builds on the success of last month’s Winter 2024 FC Series, which marked the former Florida Cup’s return to the January window and South American preseason competition.”

City to face familiar foes in Ohio this summer

One particular matchup that is currently penciled in is a fixture between City and Chelsea . Although a date is not yet known, the two English giants will face off in Columbus, Ohio this summer. The reigning European champions will then play other teams in Florida, North Carolina, and the New York City area as well.

A recent report suggested that City is now the second-most popular soccer team in the United States. Figures in the study were determined based on viewership on television and streaming here Stateside. The only team to top the Premier League champs is Mexico’s Club America .

Several top Premier League sides set to play summer friendlies in the US

City and Chelsea are, however, not the only Premier League teams set to take over America. Fellow powerhouses Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all announced summer U.S. tours recently. Full schedules of the friendlies involving English teams have not been revealed just yet. However, the Gunners are already set to face both United and Liverpool in late July.

Aston Villa is also joining the fun here Stateside as well. The Villans announced on Friday that they will play Columbus Crew in Ohio on July 27th. Although the Major League Soccer side revealed that the match is set to be part of the Leagues Cup Showcase, Villa could also very well feature in the FC Series.

Premier League clubs storming the States in the summer is hardly a surprise. After all, this could be their final chance to play in America before the 2026 World Cup. The summer schedule for 2025 will be filled with the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, which will also be played in the U.S.

Secondly, the Premier League is experiencing a significant rise in popularity here in the States. As a result, clubs see playing friendlies across the pond as an ideal opportunity to continue growing their fanbases.

Manchester city return to usa for 2024/25 pre-season tour.

The four-match tour will be delivered in collaboration with FC Series, a showcase for international clubs with matches across the US.

City will begin their pre-season campaign against Scottish Premier League champions Celtic on 23 July at Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill. The fixture will be the first time the two teams have come head-to-head since the Champions League group stages in 2016.

New York’s iconic Yankee Stadium will play host to Manchester City’s men’s team as they travel to face AC Milan on 27 July 2024. The event marks 10 years since the two sides last met, with the previous fixture taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on the same date during City’s 2014 pre-season tour.

Over the same weekend, fans will also be able to see City’s sister club, New York City FC in action on 28 July 2024 as they take on Querétaro FC in the Leagues Cup.

Pep Guardiola’s side then head to Florida, to face his former club Barcelona at the Camping World Stadium, Orlando on 30 July 2024, before travelling to Columbus, Ohio for their final fixture.

Taking place at the historic Ohio Stadium, with a capacity of over 100,000, City will compete against fellow Premier League side Chelsea on Saturday 3 August 2024.

FC Series History

In 2022, the Florida Cup tournament expanded to a nationwide event. Matches included Chelsea vs. Club America in Las Vegas, Arsenal vs. Orlando City in Orlando, Chelsea vs. Charlotte FC in Charlotte and Arsenal vs. Chelsea in Orlando.

In 2023, the FC Series featured Chelsea vs. Wrexham in the first international soccer match at Kenan Stadium on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Under its Florida Cup brand, the event also hosted Real Madrid vs. Juventus in Orlando, part of the Soccer Champions Tour.

Pep Guardiola will be reunited with Barcelona in the summer, with four pre-season fixtures announced as part of Manchester City's 2024/25 summer tour.

City will potentially play in front of around 250,000 fans across four fixtures in July and August, taking place in North Carolina, New York, Orlando and Ohio. Last month, MEN Sport revealed City's plans to tour America for the second time in three years, with the club now confirming four fixtures across 12 days.

In 2025, City will be back in the USA for the newly-revamped Club World Cup, qualifying for that tournament having won the Champions League last season. The club enjoyed a lucrative tour to Houston and Green Bay in 2022 as Erling Haaland made his first appearance for the club, before earning around £15m from their tour of Japan and South Korea last summer.

Who will City play?

Kicking off this summer's tour in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on July 23, City will take on Scottish giants Celtic at the 50,000-capacity Kenan Stadium. After that, the Blues travel to New York, where they will face AC Milan at the iconic Yankee Stadium on July 27.

Sister club New York City FC have played fixtures there since 2015, as they wait for a bespoke stadium to be built, and the MLS side will play a game the following day at the same venue. City played at the Yankee Stadium 10 years ago against Liverpool .

Three days later on July 30, the Blues fly down to Orlando, Florida, to take on Guardiola's old side Barcelona. While they could still meet in the Champions League final, the summer contest could be the first meeting between the sides since a mid-season friendly in August 2022 at the Nou Camp. The fixture will see Guardiola reunited with his old side, and City players facing former captain Ilkay Gundogan.

Joao Cancelo is currently on loan at Barcelona and has expressed a desire to remain there next season. Last summer, he played for City against Bayern Munich in Tokyo having spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Bayern. He is under contract at the Etihad until 2027.

Finally, City will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Chelsea at the 100,000-capacity Ohio Stadium. That clash with this season's FA Cup semi-final opponents will be played on August 3, before the Blues return to the UK. They will hope to play in the Community Shield, which is likely to take place a week later on August 10, before the Premier League season begins on the weekend of August 17.

Why are City going back to the USA?

What about the Club World Cup next year?

City qualified for the new-look 2025 Club World Cup in the USA by winning the 2023 Champions League. The new-look tournament will be a 32-team edition mirroring the FIFA World Cup.

They will be in the states for that tournament, which takes place between June 15 and July 13. No venues or schedules have been announced yet, although City know they could face Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter Milan, Juventus or Borussia Dortmund among others. Urawa Red Diamonds and Fluminense, who City beat to win the 2023 Club World Cup, are also among the 22 sides already qualified.

How to watch the US tour games and how to get tickets?

City will show all the games on City+, subject to certain restrictions, as well as live coverage of press conferences and training sessions. They will also produce their regular Matchday Live shows on the tours. Tickets for the games will be announced in due course.

As the 2023-24 season heads into its stretch run, Premier League clubs have already begun to turn their attention to preseason plans and preparations for the 2024-25 campaign.

Liverpool , Manchester United and Arsenal have announced they will be doing their preseason touring in the United States while playing a series of head-to-head fixtures against one another. July 31, in Philadelphia, will be the first time that Liverpool and Man United have met in the USA since 2018, when they played in front of 101,000 fans at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.

Manchester City and Chelsea have each announced they will participate in the Soccer Champions Tour, which will be played in six cities in the USA this summer, alongside Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan. Man City will face AC Milan and Barcelona in the first two games of the collection, and Chelsea will close it out against Real Madrid. Both teams will also have other friendlies across the USA.

Aston Villa have also announced they will be returning to the United States this summer, with a friendly against reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew set for July 27.

Manchester City announce summer tour in U.S.

Manchester City will return to the United States this summer, the Premier League leaders announced on Friday.

New York will host one of City's preseason matches, with further cities and opponents to be announced.

City will play in the International Champions Cup for a second year running after also participating in the U.S. edition of the competition last season.

Among the games they played a year go was the first ever Manchester derby outside England against United in Houston. City also faced Real Madrid in Los Angeles and Tottenham Hotspur in Nashville.

Benjamin Mendy, who is currently recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury, was in New York to make the announcement.

Speaking at a fan event of the top of the Rockefeller Center, Mendy said: "It's been amazing to come to New York City to announce the tour and give some local fans a real surprise!

"The soccer fans in the United States are so passionate about the game and it's always a pleasure to visit here.

"When I go back to Manchester and tell the players about my trip I know they will be really excited to come here in the summer. We can't wait to play in front of our U.S. fans again."

Earlier, City boss Pep Guardiola said midfielder Jack Harrison, newly signed from NYCFC, was likely to be given a chance during the tour after completing his loan at Middlesbrough.

"He's going on loan and we are going to see at the end of the season," Guardiola said. "In preseason a lot of players will be here with those at the World Cup, and I don't know who will be available.

"After that we'll decide -- I have a little idea who will join us here and in the States, but we'll see."

Manchester City have finally kicked off their pre-season tour in the US. They boarded the jet on Saturday looking refreshed ahead of the new season.

The pre-season tour will feature friendlies against Club America and Bayern Munich. If there is anything we have learnt about Pep and how he leads his band of blues, we know that friendly or not, they will aim to demolish the opposition.

Blues across the lands will be buzzing to see new City signings Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez, and Stefan Ortega Moreno, in debut action on foreign soil.

The first on field battle of the pre-season tour will be against Club America at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Wednesday 20th July and kicking off at 19:30 (locally), 01:30 (BST).

A few days later, Manchester City face Bayern Munich at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin with a kick off time of 18:00 (locally), 00:00 (BTS).

Since touching down in the States, Manchester City stars have been to PR events as well as training hard in the extreme southern heat.

How much do you know about Club America? They are not American, but Latin American. One of Mexico’s most successful teams with plenty of domestic titles and cups.

Winning both their domestic title and cup 13 times, and the Copa Mexico 6 times, with their most recent in 2019. They have also achieved international success, winning 10 international titles, which is a continental record.

Just days ago, Club America faced Chelsea in a pre-season friendly, with Chelsea securing a late win through Mason Mount.

Timo Werner had opened the scoring to put Chelsea ahead, until a Reece James own goal put Club America level. A game in which new signing of ex-City star, Raheem Sterling did not feature.

Club America are currently mid-season, their recent form has been unpredictable with 3 losses, 2 wins and a draw.

When they face the blues, they won’t be facing Foden, Stones, Gundogan and Laporte, with them not joining City’s US pre-season tour.

City fans hope however, that they will be facing new signings Haaland, Alvarez, Phillips, and Ortega. With the latest recruits set to make their debut.

Some of the usual stars, such as De Bruyne, Grealish and Walker are expected within the starting line-up. Though, the youngsters will be hoping they get to join in on the action and use the opportunity to impress the boss ahead of the new season.

The preseason tour 26-man squad includes: Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Kalvin Phillips, Kevin De Bruyne, Scott Carson, Ederson, Ortega, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Cole Palmer, James McAtee, Liam Delap, Kayky, Luke Mbete, Josh Wilson-Esbrand, Oscar Bobb, Rico Lewis, Finley Burns and Ben Knight.

With Zinchenko who is no longer a City player after exiting the camp and heading to Arsenal to sign his new contract to reunite with Jesus and Arteta.

My predicted starting 11: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake, Cancelo, Phillips, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Grealish, Haaland, Mahrez.

Who knows, perhaps Pep will go for a more youthful looking team. Perhaps he will go straight with Rodri. What would your starting 11 be?

Manchester City played in Houston, Texas and secured a win vs Mexico’s biggest team in Club America. A 2-1 win as many players played really well. The main takeaway was some new tactics and no injuries.

Let’s dive in to two observations.

1 KDB is alive and well

De Bruyne really dominated that first half and played at a really high level for a friendly. A great sight to see as last season’s slow start had many supporters worried. What is great is our talisman is ready and roaring to go.

2 New signings and youth players showed up in spades

Julian Alvarez notably, looked incredible and it does seem he is a Gabriel Jesus direct replacement, which means he will play everywhere here. For Mbete, Palmer and Wilson-Esbrand especially looked sharp.

A bonus observation. Jack Grealish and the America players got a little chippy...it was a fun time for a friendly. No harm, no foul and made for a great night.

Starting in September, the bombastic frontman will embark on his first solo U.S. tour with special guests Twin Temple and Aesthetic Perfection in support of his 2023 solo album “Zunge.”

Midway through the fall run, the 61-year-old drops into New York’s The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

While this will be Lindemann’s first solo stateside jaunt, it won’t be the first time he’s performed without Rammstein.

Most recently, he wrapped an international 2023-24 solo tour in Mexico, according to Set List FM . On that run, he regularly performed 19 songs — including two encores — per show.

While we can’t guarantee what he’ll bring to the stage on his forthcoming North American tour, we do know the best way to find out is live.

On Nov. 3, 2023, Lindemann dropped his solo album “Zunge.”

Comprised of 11 tracks, the heavy rocker stretches his musical muscles and alternates between intimate quiet and chaotic, epic loud — the sound Rammstein is known for — with ease.

Highlights include the quirky “Sports Frei,” thumping “Altes Fleisch” and warbly anthem “Du hast kein Herz.”

Personally, we were most taken with the Ennio Morricone-esque “Tanzlehrerin” with its guitar licks, yearning vocals and gifted yet pained backing singer giving her all behind Lindemann.

Don’t sleep on the shockingly fun album closer “Selbst verliebt,” either. It’s an unexpected pop delicacy.

Lindemann was accused of sexual assault by a female fan last June over social media. She alleged he drugged her at a pre-show Rammstein VIP party in Lithuania and later approached her fox sex during intermission.

This led to backlash against Rammstein’s “VIP Experience;” fans believed Lindemann was using the ticket tier to bed fans.

After looking into the case, German prosectors dropped the case due to lack of evidence and testimony.

“The rapid termination of investigative proceedings by the Berlin state prosecutor’s office shows that there is insufficient evidence that our client allegedly committed sexual offen(s)es,” Lindemann’s lawyers said.

Rammstein drummer claimed Lindemann “has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble” and “things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don’t think are ok.”

Man United Back in Another FA Cup Final Against Man City After Narrowly Avoiding Humiliation

Manchester United has set up another FA Cup final against fierce rival Manchester City in a way no one could ever have imagined

Manchester United set up another FA Cup final against fierce rival Manchester City in a way no one could ever have imagined.

In a semifinal match on Sunday that will live long in the memory, United blew a three-goal lead against second-tier Coventry, was saved by the narrowest of offside calls by the VAR in stoppage time of extra time to keep the score at 3-3, then came from behind in a penalty shootout to advance to the May 25 title match back at Wembley Stadium.

United's celebrations after Rasmus Hojlund converted the clinching spot kick for a 4-2 win in the shootout were as much of relief as joy. Indeed, United's players looked sheepish — almost embarrassed — as they left the field at England's national stadium compared to their Coventry counterparts, who received the adulation of their proud, flag-waving, blue-clad fans.

Advancing to the final in this manner will do nothing to quell the growing uncertainty around the position of United manager Erik ten Hag, whose job might not be saved even by beating City. United, the grandest club in England, is languishing in seventh place in the Premier League and the team's late collapse against Coventry followed a trend of similar performances in recent weeks that will alarm its new co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, who was in the crowd at Wembley after having run the London Marathon.

“The standard of the club is much higher than what we have been doing,” said United captain Bruno Fernandes, who could barely raise a smile despite his team getting to an FA Cup final.

City, which defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the first of the semifinals on Saturday, was a 2-1 winner over United in last year's final on its way to claiming a Premier League-FA Cup-Champions League treble.

That was the first ever cup final between the fierce local rivals — and another has arrived 12 months later. Few will expect a different outcome in next month's match, by which time City will hope to have been crowned Premier League champion again.

“It’s mixed feelings," Ten Hag said of beating Coventry. “The way we did it isn’t OK.”

United has picked up a nasty habit of blowing leads and it happened again against an inspired Coventry team that is eighth in the Championship and managed by Mark Robins — a former Man United striker who might have saved Alex Ferguson from getting fired three years into his storied tenure as United manager.

Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes — with a shot that took a deflection before ricocheting into the net — scored to put United 3-0 up by the 58th minute.

Coventry, which was bidding to become the first non-Premier League club since Cardiff in 2008 to reach the final, fought back in remarkable fashion with goals from Ellis Sims in the 71st, Callum O'Hare in the 79th and then Haji Wright with an equalizing penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Coventry was arguably the stronger of the teams in extra time, with Sims hitting the crossbar and Victor Torp having a goal in the first minute of second-half stoppage time ruled out because of a close offside call against Wright in the buildup.

“Had he cut his toe nail, it wouldn’t have gone to penalties,” Robins said.

United midfielder Casemiro, who played out of position at center back in the match, missed the first penalty of the shootout but United recovered, with Coventry failing twice from the spot.

LIVERPOOL WINS

Liverpool stayed competitive in the Premier League title race with a 3-1 win at Fulham that was illuminated by a stunning free kick by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota also scored for Liverpool, which moved level on points with leader Arsenal in the standings but has an inferior goal difference. They are one point ahead of Manchester City, which has a game in hand.

In other Premier League games, there were significant wins for Aston Villa and Everton, and a huge win for Crystal Palace .

Villa rallied to beat Bournemouth 3-1 and strengthen its bid for Champions League qualification. Unai Emery's team stayed in fourth place but moved six points clear of fifth-place Tottenham, which has two games in hand.

Everton defeated Nottingham Forest 2-0 to push five points clear of the relegation zone and boost its chances of extending its 70-year stay in the top flight. Forest published a social-media post after the game which appeared to question the integrity of a match official.

Palace scored four goals in the first 31 minutes on the way to a 5-2 win over West Ham.

Elephant Man Says He Has 38 Kids, Suggests He'll Probably Have More

In unsurprising news, the 47-year-old dancehall artist implied that he never wears condoms.

Legendary dancehall artist Elephant Man revealed that he has fathered 38 children and doesn't intend on slowing down anytime soon.

In an Instagram Live interview with Noah Powa, the  Pon Di River  artist was asked if he wanted to have more kids and replied, "How yuh mean? Den if it come, it nuh come bredda, weh you a talk bout?" As seen in the clip below, at the 4:30 mark, the 47-year-old revealed that he's had 38 children and had his first kid when he was just 17.

"I have 38 pickney, start from mi a 17," he shared, per Dancehall Mag . "Mi might ugly and all of that, but the gyal dem like mi bandy legs. ... ‘Member a me climb and jump off a di something dem and the gyal dem seh, ‘No man, mi woulda tek a lift up from dah black boy yah’… ‘Member di gyal dem see the attitude and all of dat."

Unsurprisingly, Elephant Man suggested he doesn't use condoms during sex. "You nah sex your woman inna nuh condom," he added. "You ever go to your woman inna her house inna condom, yuh inna trouble." Despite the alarming number of children, he said that he takes care of all his kids.

Man City vs Man United FA Cup final time confirmed

The FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United will kick off at the traditional time of 3 p.m. (1400 GMT) on May 25, the Football Association said Tuesday.

In a repeat of last year’s final, holder City will play rival United at Wembley Stadium.

The FA said the kickoff time had been agreed with both clubs, the local authority, safety advisory group and broadcasters.

It is the second straight year that the final will start at 3 p.m. In recent years it has had an early evening time slot.

City beat Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday to secure its place in the final, while United needed penalties to overcome second-tier Coventry on Sunday after blowing a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 through extra time.

As well as the Cup, the winner will receive around $2.5 million.
