Paris Jackson Releases Grunge-Bent Single “Just You,” Tours with The Revivalists

Paris Jackson has revealed her new single “just you” (Republic Records), an alt-rock anthem on the euphoria of falling in love.

My hearts battered and bruised, tattered and torn but it’s yours for the taking if you’ll take me away, and out of this place / Just say the word to stop my heart from breaking, don’t break me just stay sings Jackson on the grungier, more lackadaisical track.

Described as a “love song” by Jackson, “just you” follows Jackson’s most recent single “lighthouse,” featuring Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, and co-produced by Butch Walker. Both singles are heavily influenced by ’90s alternative rock, which is where the 24-year-old singer said she’s leaning most, sonically, these days—and even references in “just you” with Alt rock bands, and starving eyes locked / Callused fingertips trace the grooves / I’m aching for just you .

“I’ve always been interested in making music like this,” said Jackson in a recent interview. “I guess I was never able to before because I didn’t know how to project and sing. So that’s a very new thing for me, singing in this way, and projecting and yelling, which isn’t the most likable thing, I suppose. It’s not for everybody, but now that I am learning how to do that, I can kind of experiment more with louder instruments to go with the louder vocals.”

In 2020 Jackson released her debut album, Wilted , with the first single “Let Down,” before collaborating with The Struts on “Low Key In Love” in 2021 and releasing   the lost EP  in early 2022.

Jackson is set to kick off a string of dates with The Revivalists in November, in addition to headlining the Heaven Can Wait show in New York on Nov. 14 and supporting Courteeners and Royal & the Serpent in Los Angeles on Nov. 16 and 29.

In May 2022, Jackson also joined Cheap Trick on stage for a rendition of their 1978 hit “Surrender.”

Jackson released a new EP ‘Lost’ this week. The three tracks on the release are the two originals ‘Lost’ and ‘Breathe Again’ and Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Never Going Back Again’.

Paris Jackson on ‘friendship tattoos’, inner beauty and her new beauty collab

The time Paris Jackson feels most empowered is when she’s “performing on stage”. The 24-year-old, whose music career began as one half of musical duo The Soundflowers with ex-boyfriend and musician/singer Gabriel Glenn, recently released her latest solo single, grunge-inspired track lighthouse, earlier this year.

In conversation with GLAMOUR , she tells me she is “very excited” to continue on with her solo music career – which began with with her first studio album, Wilted, in 2020. She has an East Coast USA tour coming up this November where she’ll be performing at locations including South Carolina, Washington DC and New York. “I love experimenting and trying new things. I just love all things music, so I just like creating.”

Paris has added another role to her ‘multi-hyphenate’ portfolio of jobs (impressive, at only 24) she is collaborating with KVD Beauty , a vegan beauty brand. The brand's focus on high-pigment, high-performance makeup that lends itself perfectly to wearing on stage for hours-long performances is presumably a big driver behind why the musician slash model slash actor chose to work with them.

“As a musician and performer, long-lasting wear is a must,” she says, adding: ‘Makeup has always played a massive part in performing dating back to the days of KISS, or even earlier. You see, you can look at really any music video that's ever played on MTV and there's always some kind of unique makeup look going on, regardless of the genre of music." It’s worth noting that Paris’ father, the late Michael Jackson , was also a pioneer when it came to wearing make-up during performance – not just the white makeup he wore later in his career, but also red lipstick and eyeliner, beginning in the iconic 1982 Thriller video.

As for Paris Jackson's other career strands: you might recall her flexing her acting muscles in American Horror Stories (she played a character called Maya in three episodes of the hit show released last year), while she’s devoted the past couple of years to releasing solo music. She also signed with leading, global modelling agency, IMG Models, in 2017.

She says, "I like stretching that creative muscle in whatever way that I can, whether it be music or acting or fashion or just anything artsy," she tells me. When I asked about her impressive roster of different creative roles, she says modestly: “Well, the left part of my brain is pretty nonfunctioning, so kind of all I got working for me is the right side.”

Today, we’re speaking ahead of the announcement that she’s partnering with KVD Beauty for the second time in the year – this time around, collaborating on the launch of the Everlasting Hyperlight Liquid Lipstick product, a matte, long-lasting product that comes in a range of bold colours (including blue and purple – a homage to the brand’s “ goth-meets-grunge ” DNA). She’s been involved in this new campaign as both a co-creative director and a model, a process she describes as ‘an unforgettable experience’. During the shoot, she was involved in behind-the-scenes artistic decision-making together with fronting the campaign. The result is a “secret garden”-style series of vampy, gothic images shot among using props of thorny red roses.

Paris first partnered on the launch of KVD’s bestselling Tattoo Liner in spring this year – named as such for its long-lasting quality. This was an apt collaboration, given Paris’ famous love of tattoos ; she is believed, according to the most recent estimates, to have at least 80 of them. Asked about her demonstrable love of inkings, she tells me: “I don't know. I've always been interested in [tattoos]. I used to get uniform violations in school – I was probably 13 or 14 – because I used to write all over myself with a permanent marker.” What did she write? “Song lyrics and band logos.” Some of her recent inkings include: “A dragon, a koi fish, the sun, the moon, an eyeball,” she tells me.

While Paris insists, during our interview, that her tattoos “don’t mean anything”, I know from my research that several of her tattoos are dedicated to her late father – including a sleeve tattoo she got of Michael Jackson’s 1991 album Dangerous in 2016, when she was 18. She also has a friendship tattoo with her brother, Prince Jackson – respectively, a yin and yang symbols. “I have friendship tattoos with at least 10 people,” she tells me. Another is “the word spit, in my best friend’s handwriting” – and yes, he has a matching one (“It’s just funny, so we got it.”) Will friendship tattoos catch on? “Friendship tattoos have been going on for a very long time.” (Heads up: anyone who hasn’t had mutual inkings with their BFFs is apparently lagging behind).

While Paris is open about her many, many tattoos and her collaboration with KVD, it becomes clear throughout our interview that she has some strict boundaries around discussing more personal details. To give an example, Paris shares with me that “affirmations” are very important to her for self care, but when asked what kind of things she might say, she deems my question “kind of personal” and refuses to answer.

She comes across as guarded, but this is understandable. Famously, Paris, together with her siblings, Prince and Blanket, wore masks as children while out with their father, to protect their identities – a practice that Paris retrospectively “appreciated”, as she has said in subsequent interviews . Nowadays, she has a more complicated relationship with being in the public eye. Asked what she’s looking for in her personal life, Paris responded, “Privacy – having things in my life that are private and not all public knowledge.” Yet she posts regularly on Instagram – sometimes multiple times a day – and has almost four million followers on the platform – is this not a conflict? “No, I'm still very much on social media. It's nice to have a choice though, of what is shared.”

Paris Jackson and Prince Jackson Attend 2022 Tony Awards in Support of 'MJ: The Musical'

Paris Jackson and Prince Jackson are two stylish siblings.

On Sunday, the brother-and-sister duo attended the 75th Tony Awards at New York City's Radio City Music Hall, showing support for the Broadway musical based on their father Michael Jackson . MJ: The Musical is nominated for 10 Tonys , including best musical.

At the event, Paris, 24, hugged performer Myles Frost, who stars as her dad in MJ and is nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical. Paris also posed for photos with Prince, 25, on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony.

The siblings introduced a performance from the musical during the Tonys broadcast. Prince said, "A lot of people seem to think our dad changed popular music forever — and who are we to disagree? But what people may not know is he loved musicals, on film and on the stage. That's why we are so incredibly honored to introduce the night's first nominee for best musical, MJ , which, using many of his iconic hits, looks at the complexities and brilliance of our father's process."

The musical takes audiences inside Jackson's creative process , depicting the singer rehearsing for his 1992 Dangerous world tour. It features over 25 of the singer's biggest hits and is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon with a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage. The Estate of Michael Jackson is a producer.

According to a press release, the musical "goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson into legendary status."

Prince attended the musical in December at the Neil Simon Theatre. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the show "blew him away."

"Prince was very, very, sweet. He kept saying, 'Wow,' and talking about how much he loved the show, loved the energy — even loved the logo," the source shared at the time. The insider added that Prince "mentioned how he can't wait to see it again" and called Frost's performance "incredible."

Both Prince and Paris then attended opening night of MJ in February. That night, Paris posed at the show with her cousin TJ Jackson, son of Tito Jackson , Michael's brother and member of the original Jackson 5.

Michael went from child star to chart-topping King of Pop, with hits like "Beat It" and "Billie Jean." He was arrested on charges of child molestation back in 2003, though he was acquitted of those charges in 2005. Jackson was accused of sexual abuse by two people after his death in 2013 at age 50. A 2019 documentary revisited the allegations.

In an April 2019 interview with The New York Times , Wheeldon said about writing the musical at the time, "We're sensitive to what's going on and we'll see whether it works into the show or not. But the primary focus of our show has always been focusing on Michael's creative process." The musical does not address the scandal.

Nottage added in that interview, "We want this to be a musical that everyone can come to, regardless of how they feel about Michael Jackson, and they will leave with a better understanding of who he was as a human being."

Myles Frost went on to win the Tony Award for Leading Actor in a Musical. 

"I am so blessed and grateful," Frost said. "I just can't control my feet. I want to say this to all the little Black kids out there who may not have a good relationship with their father, you can do it. first of all. and second of all, dad, I love you. We support each other because we are strong Black men. Thank you so much for allowing me to express my creativity. As Michael would say 'with love, with love.' Thank you!"

Paris and Prince Jackson make appearance at 2022 Tony Awards

The siblings presented the cast of "MJ" at Sunday's award show.

Paris and Prince Jackson attended the 2022 Tony Awards Sunday to celebrate "MJ: The Musical," the hit Broadway show paying tribute to their late father, music legend Michael Jackson.

The brother-sister duo took the stage to present the "MJ" cast for their performance of "Smooth Criminal."

"A lot of people seem to think our dad Michael Jackson changed popular music forever. And who are we to disagree?" Prince said onstage in the introduction.

"But what people may not know is that he loved musicals, on film and on the stage," he continued. "That’s why we are so incredibly honored to introduce tonight’s first nominee for best musical, 'MJ,' which, using many of his iconic hits, looks at the complexities and brilliance of our father's process."

Paris then presented the musical number, which she said "showcases that creative process" and "[draws] on some of the influences who helped inspire his signature style," and introduced Myles Frost, 22, who portrays the iconic singer in the Broadway production.

"MJ: The Musical" went into the night with 10 Tony Award nominations, scoring four victories by the end of the evening.

The show won awards for best choreography, best sound design of a musical, and best lighting design of a musical. Frost also took home a statuette for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical, becoming the youngest person ever to win the award.

Incubus Announce Summer 2023 Tour With Badflower + Paris Jackson

Incubus are back for another summer of touring, putting together a 2023 package that includes Badflower and Paris Jackson opening shows.

The trek gets underway July 21 in Eugene, Oregon, heading east and dipping into Canada before circling back across the southern U.S. and coming to a conclusion Aug. 29 in Grand Junction, Colorado. In addition, the band have booked appearances at Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland on Sept. 30, will play Aftershock in Sacramento on Oct. 5 and will headline a Hollywood Bowl show in Los Angeles with Action Bronson supporting on Oct. 6. Incubus last released a full album with 2017's 8, but did return in 2019 with "Into the Summer" and in 2020 with "Our Love" from the Trust Fall (Side B) EP . Badflower's most recent offering was 2021's This Is How the World Ends,  and Paris Jackson issued the lost ep in February 2022.

Janet Jackson to perform in UK for first time in five years

Janet Jackson has announced a number of UK dates on her Together Again tour.

The 57-year-old American singer will perform in Birmingham, London , Glasgow and Manchester later this year as part of her celebration of 50 years in entertainment.

The R&B superstar’s last UK show was at Glastonbury in 2019, with her performance on the Pyramid Stage featuring more than 20 songs in one set.

Her latest tour kicked off in April 2023 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, and she will play more North American dates until June, ending at the Footprint Centre in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jackson, known for songs including That’s The Way Love Goes, Nasty, Control, and Any Time, Any Place, will begin the European leg at the Accor Arena in Paris on September 25.

She will then head to the UK, where she will play the Utilita Arena Birmingham on September 27, London’s O2 Arena on September 28, Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro on September 30 and Manchester’s Co-op Live on October 1.

After these performances, she will perform in Belgium and Germany before ending the tour at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome arena on October 10.

The five-time Grammy winner, the younger sister of Michael Jackson, laid the groundwork for female stars who came after her, including Beyonce and Rihanna.

She started off in the variety show The Jacksons, with the rest of her musical family, and in 1993 she was nominated for an Academy Award for Again, used in the romantic film Poetic Justice, in which she starred alongside rapper Tupac Shakur.

In 2019, Jackson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for being “one of the most successful and groundbreaking artists of the Eighties and Nineties”.

A documentary series, titled Janet Jackson, was released in 2022, in which she discussed the impact of her wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl on her career.

La star américaine de 57 ans donnera un concert unique en France à l’Accor Arena cet automne dans le cadre d’une tournée européenne qui fêtera ses 50 ans de carrière.

Attention événement ! Ce lundi 29 avril au matin, les fans français de Janet Jackson se sont réveillés avec une nouvelle attendue depuis de nombreuses années : la star américaine sera de passage en France cet automne dans le cadre de sa tournée « Together Again Tour », du nom d’un de ses plus grands tubes sortis en 1997. Organisée par Live Nation, cette tournée de l’artiste de 57 ans aux 100 millions de disques vendus passera par Paris à le 25 septembre 2024, à l’Accor Arena. Un rendez-vous unique en France au milieu d’une tournée européenne, qui la mènera aussi au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne et en Belgique, pour se terminer à Amsterdam, aux Pays-Bas, au Ziggo Dome, le 10 octobre.

« Je voulais remercier tous ceux qui font de cette tournée actuelle la plus importante de toute ma carrière, a-t-elle réagi en vidéo sur son compte Instagram. Europe, je sais que cela fait tellement longtemps que je ne vous ai pas vu mais l’attente est bientôt terminée, vous m’avez tellement manqué et nous nous amusons tellement sur cette tournée que j’ai super-hâte de faire la fête avec vous ».

Depuis 2023, la petite sœur de Michael Jackson a commencé une tournée mondiale pour fêter le trentième anniversaire de « Janet », l’album vendu à 14 millions de ventes. Outre-Atlantique, les billets sont tellement demandés, qu’elle a dû être prolongée de 35 nouvelles dates en janvier dernier. Pour son passage chez nous, et histoire de rendre l’annonce encore plus excitante, la première partie des concerts sera assurée par Wyclef Jean, des Fugees, tout cet automne.

Janet Jackson has announced a UK and European tour for 2024 – find all the details below.

The music legend is bringing her ‘Together Again’ tour to 10 cities later this year, kicking off in Paris at the Accor Arena on September 25.

From there, she’ll continue on to stops in Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester, before heading back to mainland Europe and concluding at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on October 10.

The ‘All For You’ star will be joined by special guest Wyclef Jean of The Fugees across all dates except London, where the support act is yet to be announced.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday (May 3) at 9am local time from here . There will also be a Mastercard pre-sale in select markets starting on Tuesday (April 30) at 9am local time.

The singer’s UK and European leg of her ‘Together Again’ tour will mark her first UK performance since Glastonbury 2019 . The shows will follow the US trek , where Nelly will open as support across June and July.

Reviewing Jackson at Glastonbury back in 2019 , NME described the set as “a pop megamix, a stadium production and the making of a new ‘legends slot’.”

It added: “Janet Jackson was not booked for that slot, so she decided to carve her own, brand new legends slot instead: a full-scale dance production with stage set crammed into a 50 minute slot at the arse end of Saturday afternoon.”

The singer kicked off her ‘Together Again’ tour in Florida earlier this month, showcasing a host of hits and rarities.

Huge announcement from global music icon Janet Jackson who will be coming back to the UK in 2024

Music icon Janet Jackson has confirmed a UK tour celebrating her 50th anniversary in entertainment. American superstar Janet will bring her Together Again tour to the UK, which also celebrates 35 years since her seminal album Rhythm Nation.

She will play gigs in Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester in the Autumn. The UK leg will end with a night at Manchester's soon-to-open Co-op Live arena .

It will be the first time Janet has played in Manchester since her last planned UK tour in 2016 was cancelled due to "scheduling difficulties" just weeks before she was due to perform.

A statement from Janet's tour promoters today said: "Off the back of Ms. Jackson’s highly successful and sold out Together Again tour in North America, five-time GRAMMY ® ️Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame®️ Inductee Janet Jackson reveals she will be extending her tour to Europe, adding in multiple stops across the continent. This will be Ms. Jackson’s first UK performance since her iconic 2019 Glastonbury Festival performance."

The European leg of the tour will start in autumn 2024 kicking off in Paris, France on the 25th September at Accor Arena before making multiple stops in the UK, Germany and Belgium before concluding the tour in Amsterdam, Netherlands at Ziggo Dome on the 10th October. The announcement of UK tour dates from the Miss You Much hitmaker follows her 35-date US tour Together Again, which will hit the road this summer across the States. The tour builds on the colossal success of her 2023 run, which earned the icon the highest selling trek of her career. Promoters add: "The Together Again Tour will offer everyone the chance to finally reunite with Ms. Jackson in celebration of her 50th anniversary in entertainment and spotlight the milestone for one of her most critically acclaimed albums - 35 years of “Rhythm Nation” featuring her biggest chart-topping hits."

It has also been announced that Wyclef Jean will join Janet for the UK tour dates as special guest. Janet, 57, is the youngest member of the legendary Jackson musical family.

The Queen of Pop’s Together Again tour will see her come to UK stages for the first time in five years

Janet Jackson stans, the wait is officially over. After bringing her superior glamour and showmanship to stages across North America as part of her Together Again tour, Ms Jackson has announced today (April 29) that she’ll be extending that tour to the UK and Europe. 

Janet will come to the UK in September and August later this year, marking the first time the popstar has performed in here since appearing at Glastonbury in 2019. She’ll be celebrating 50 years in entertainment (having started at the ripe old age of seven) and the 35-year anniversary of one of her most critically acclaimed albums,  Rhythm Nation .

When is Janet Jackson going on her UK tour 2024? 

The singer will be playing four dates in the UK in the autumn. She’ll start in Birmingham on September 27  before heading to London on September 28 , Glasgow on September 30 and Manchester on October 1 . 

When do tickets go on sale?

General sale goes live on Friday, May 3 at 9am on Ticketmaster . 

Is there a presale? 

Mastercard holders will get to enjoy early access via this link on Tuesday, April 30 at 9am, while fans with the O2 Priority app can get their hands on presale tickets from Wednesday, May 1. 

There’s also a chance to secure tickets early if you sign up to an artist presale over on Jackson’s website here . 

How much will tickets cost? 

We won’t know official prices until the first tickets go on sale. For the US leg of Janet Jackson’s Together Again tour, tickets have cost anywhere between $39.95 to $499.95 (£32 to £400).

Before coming to the UK, the singer is set to play in Paris . Then, after her show in Manchester, she’ll head back to mainland Europe and perform in Antwerp , Munich , Cologne , Berlin and Amsterdam .

Janet Jackson announces UK and Europe 2024 tour

Janet Jackson has announced details of a UK and European tour for 2024.

The music icon will bring her ‘Together Again’ tour to 10 cities across Europe later this year, kicking off in Paris at the Accor Arena on September 25.

She’ll then continue the jaunt with shows in Birmingham, Glasgow, London and Manchester, before wrapping up at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on October 10.

An impressive support act also comes in the form of Wyclef Jean, though he will not appear in London – where special guests are yet to be announced.

Tickets will go on general sale this Friday (May 3) at 9am local time and fans can buy them here . A Mastercard pre-sale also starts this Tuesday (April 30) at 9am local time.

It’s the first dates from the singer since her one-off performance at Glastonbury 2019, too, and will follow a US tour this summer.

“Europe I know it’s been a minute since we’ve seen each other but the wait is no longer,” said Jackson. “I will be taking the Together Again tour all over Europe this fall. I cannot wait to see you guys.”
