Mini Van | 2-4 People

The minivan is great for small groups and families looking to see Ireland. These Air-Conditioned luxury vehicles take up to 4 passengers (with luggage) in comfort and style. The elevated seating means you see more of the countryside, while their relatively small size means you still get to travel down those tiny country roads the larger coaches cannot access. We typically provide Mercedes Viano/V Class luxury minivans or similar to suit your needs.

Mini Coach | 5-9 People

For our small groups, we use custom Air-Conditioned luxury 9-seater Mercedes-Benz mini-coaches. These are executive-class tour vehicles designed specifically for this purpose, combining comfort and safety with a luxurious interior finish. Mid-Sizes Coach | 10-34 People

We have a range of mid-sized luxury Air-Conditioned coaches for 10 to 34 people. Some are almost the same size as a full-sized coach because we want our guests to relax and enjoy the journey. With features such as tinted windows, panoramic views and air conditioning, these coaches are perfect for touring Ireland in a group. Just let us know your group size and we will find the right coach for you.

Irish Airports

The main transatlantic and long-haul airports in Ireland are Dublin and to a lesser extent Shannon . The vast majority of transatlantic flights come through Dublin. There are also airports in Belfast , Cork , Kerry and Knock (Ireland West Airport) but these are for regional (European and UK) destinations only.

The Irish national carrier is Aer Lingus , though many international airlines do long-haul flights into Ireland. For European flights, Ryanair and Aer Lingus are the main two, though again there are countless other airlines operating flights from Ireland to the rest of Europe.

Private tours are tours that can depart on any date and visit almost any location in Ireland. The major benefit of private tours is that you are in control. You set the pace of the tour, you decide on the locations to be visited and how long you wish to stay there. You typically won't meet other tourers on a private tour but you will have more free time to meet local people. If you don't mind the lack of a built-in social group (of a scheduled tour) there is no finer way to see the island of Ireland. The freedom to go where you want, when you want and at your own pace is the main reason people choose private tours.

Freedom and flexibility

Unique itinerary, less social, option 2: book onto a scheduled tour.

Scheduled tours are tours that depart and arrive on preset dates and adhere to a set itinerary with little deviation. On a scheduled tour you and your group will typically be touring on a bus with people you have not met before. Though they lack the total freedom of a private tour they do have a built-in social group in the other tourers. …a fabulous trip from beginning to end – April 2024 This was a fabulous trip from beginning to end, including the Cliffs of Moher, Burren National Park, the sheep farm in Leenane, the falconry at Ashford Castle, Slieve League, the walls of Derry, and the tour of Belfast, just to name a few. Had a wonderful time with Diana. She was informative and fun. Her knowledge of the area was very evident. She is also extremely knowledgeable of the areas plants and birds. My husband and I enjoyed a hike along the sea with wonderful views of the cliffs and water. We also saw seals with their pups. The scenery was very impressive. It was a great hike. We felt like we got to see a whole other part of Ireland. The length of the tour was perfect. We were looking for something that took us out of Dublin but didn’t require an exhausting 12 hour+ day. We had a lovely Sunday experience together with Diana at Wicklow Cliff Walk. She is a great organiser and a passionate person interested in what she is doing. Diana met us in Dublin and drove us to a convenient starting point. The pace of the hike was customised to our group so we had plenty of time for enjoying the views, watching birds and grey seals.

Highly recommend! Amazing day spent with the sweet, attentive, and very knowledgeable Diana. This off the beaten path tour is a delight. Diana drove/guided my husband and I to the Hill of Tara, Bective Abbey and Trim Castle. We loved every minute, making three different historical stops in total. I sincerely appreciated how Diana asked us about our interests, so that she could personalize the day. Loved having tea/coffee and scones sat on a historical wall overlooking the Bective Abbey (chair was optional) and surrounding pastoral lands. We made sure to have our tennis shoes/hiking boots on, as the grasses were wet and a bit muddy; it was great fun getting up close and personal with over 5,000 years of Irish history. Also I was impressed how communicative she was prior to the trip; I felt in good hands from the minute I booked. Would not change a thing; bravo Diana for creating a fun enlightening trip.

Diana mastered the story telling in her adopted country of Ireland and was able to guide our group of 4 US citizens ( one with an Irish grandmother and deep roots) to a delightful informative tour of the country side of Ireland outside of Dublin. We loved spending the time wtih her personally driving us thru the gardens and countryside safely and of good cheer and many fun stores to share about each location.. all new info to us ( even tho my 3rd time in Ireland). Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, Powerscourt My husband and I spent the day on a private scenic tour of Powerscourt Garden and waterfall, the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, and Guinness Lake with our amazing guide Diana. She is extremely knowledgeable, and coordinated the details (hotel pick-up, restaurant for lunch, and photos of us). We highly recommend her private tours for 2-4 travelers. It was truly a highlight of our trip!

Great way to experience the mountains and countryside from Dublin

We absolutely loved our tour. So easy from Dublin to see the Wicklow mountains and experience another part of Ireland. We loved seeing the lakes, the lunch spot was incredible, and Diana shared so many interesting historical facts and stories with us. Yury Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Centre (Zvezdny Gorodok - Star Town) (7 hours)

The Yuri A. Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center is a Russian training facility responsible for training cosmonauts for their space missions. It is in Star City of Moscow Oblast, a name which may refer to the facility itself or to its grounds. (Read more about Yury Gagarin Cosmonauts training center )

The secret Star City was built to train Soviet cosmonauts, including Yuri Gagarin, the 1st man in space. Many other famous Russian cosmonauts trained here with Gagarin: German Titov, Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut, and Alexei Leonov, the first cosmonaut to exit the spaceship into space . The best facilities were built for them: the world’s largest centrifuge and hydro laboratory. Many cosmonauts from other countries (USA, Japan, Germany and many others) also have trained here together with Soviet Russian cosmonauts. On this Star (Space) City Tour you will see:

Out of the Centre

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
