Drogheria Italiana 75011

Jordan has been writing a Paris blog for two years and became a Discover Walks writer in early 2018. While most of our Paris writers are born and raised Parisians, Jordan is not. She is a Californian who moved to Paris in 2013. We like her different point of view when she writes - of course our tour guides are a great source of tips and inspiration in her articles. We hope you enjoy all of them.

Location and contact.
I had pleasant experience here. Of course it's a touristic place because it's in a very busy area and there a plenty of dishes for tourists like fish n chips but we went there few times and we got very nice onion soup, escargot and... pate, which was my absolutely favorite. Waitress was surprised when we ordered pate and she said it's locals favorite! It was very very delicious. They also serve wine with half glass too. We saw a lot of locals in the evening drinking wine in relaxed atmosphere. More
We were walking from the Rodin museum to the river to get a boat tour on our last night. It was a tiring day. I had yet to get escargot which was something I wanted to try while in Paris. We stumbled by this place... and decided to rest our feet and have an entree and a drink. Our waiter was fun and funny. I'm not sure if he spoke any English at all but we communicated very well. I loved the escargot, and my wife and I agreed the French Onion soup was the best of the four we had while in Paris More
I stopped here for a quick beer after a day of tourist activities. They have a great beer selection but the toilets leave a lot to be desired. Firstly you need a token to use the toilet and can only get one by buying something.... Fair enough. Except the locks on the toilets don’t work very well and if someone else puts a token in the door while you’re in there, it will unlock. It’s just a very awkward system. I have no doubt there are reasons for having tokens but it does make going to the toilet a bit of an annoying ordeal, especially as the two cubicles are very cramped and close together. More
If you are looking for a fantastic French experience, we would highly recommend. My husband and I were going to the Eiffel Tower and stopped here on the way, we are so pleased we did. The food was very tasty. The service is something to... be experienced - we laughed so much as the waiter was so much fun! It really made our lunch. More
We stopped looking for possible drink and possibly lunch, and we were glad that we did. It was busy with locals and we sat inside, and enjoyed, good beers, and pleasant plat du jour. I enjoyed croque madame, and our servers where humorous and polite... unlike previous reviews. More
We went for simple food, croque monsieur, croque Madame, steak haché. I guess we got what we asked for. It was a croque Madame, nothing special, perfectly edible. The highlight was the salad dressing tbh.
The four of us tried this cafe down the street from our hotel. I had the croque monsieur, which was pretty good, and one of our group had the french onion soup, which was determined to be just okay.
We asked for a couple of beers and the waiter doubled as the price we saw in the Menu and he took it from us afterwards, speaking to us really bad.
We were walking, we were tired, this place had chairs--that was enough for us. So we sat down. It was also filled. The tables were all full, which meant the waiters didn't have time for anyone. Ordering took forever, the food took forever, they never... checked back with us to see if our orders were OK (they weren't) or if we wanted more (we did) (except then we didn't), and we had to physically run after them to get our check. Question: How can you mess up a croque monsieur? You can't, right? Answer: Oh yes. They did. Seriously. How? First, don't use a grill. Step one make a salad. Step two put thin pieces of bread in a toaster. Step three wait for the toast to get cold, then move most of the salad onto the toast. Drop a slice of ham on the salad, then a slice of cheese, cut in half and serve. Cold. And dry. P.S. The frites are cold and dry too. Absolutely the worst croque monsieur we had during our entire trip to France Three stars? Why? The French onion soup. Oh my goodness! Who put this together? Certainly not the same kitchen that slapped everything else together? Oh yes. They did. Delicious broth and onions. Not too heavy, not too light. Wonderful bread in the soup. A luscious layer of shredded cheese AND shredded onions on the top of the soup. Melted perfectly, then crisped up with a brulee torch to give it a little extra texture. Without a doubt, this was the best French onion soup we had during our entire trip to France. Would we go back, just for the soup? Oh man. That's a tough call. We certainly wouldn't go back at lunchtime. Or dinnertime. Try to find some time when no one else is there. And then I would only order the soup. Nothing else. Please, nothing else. More
Situated within walking distance from Hotel des Invalids, the restaurant could be a good rest for your lunch or dinner. We like foie gras there as well as its beef steak. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Not like it in a way that it... charges 20cent for using toilet. More
Charming waiters and comfortable atmosphere. Food was good and well priced. Had steak frites and enjoyed
We had a warm welcome. If you are looking for reasonable priced french food in a bistro near the Eiffel Tower I'd recommend here. We had french onion soup & Cafe Creme.
We have stopped by to have our lunch and some wine. Immidiately I got my glass of wine spilled right on me and inside my bag by rushy waiter, who wasn’t careful at all! Nor he was aware of what true polite customer service is!... He just dissappeared without saying anything and put his colleage to cover up for his poor service. Eventually, we had to clean our table by ourselves and remind them to bring one more glass of wine. Was not a surprise that we got also normal bill with no any kind of apologies from the staff. More
We originally just planned on enjoying a glass of wine at a sidewalk table, but one glass became two and the evening closed in, so we decided to grab a meal as well. The salad niçoise was great, although the haricot vert were missing...the onion... soup was also good. The service was wonderful and our waiter totally charming. A lucky stop for us. More
We had to kill 45 minutes before we could register for our conference, so we stopped in for drinks at this café. Loved our friendly server--a rarity in France!

(Temporarily closed) This chic brasserie, which was refurbished and revamped a few years ago, proposes an extensive set menu and an à la carte menu packed with premium ingredients (sole meunière, Galicia rib of beef). For solo meals, there is nothing like the central counter, where seafood is displayed on crushed ice. Tasty and masterful cooking, and a fine wine and whisky list… What a treat!

Location/ near metro, cafes, patiserries, supermarket. Close to Eiffel Tower.
Staff was very helpful with us, explained everything and were very kind!
Convenient breakfast. Would like it replenished for the late diners however. Variety was good
Friendly staff. It was a perfect central location for the sites we went to. Close to several cafes.
The location is excellent- close to the Eiffel Tower - lots of shops and food. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was always kind and helpful. We did not try the breakfast. There are many places nearby that serve breakfast. We would stay here again.
I enjoyed this property. perfect location. perfect price.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...THE LOCATION ITS AMAZING, LOVE THE CLOSE BY CAFE'S, CLOSE TO EIFFEL TOWER AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS IN PARIS. THE PERSONAL VERY FRIENDLY.
the room was decent in size regarding other hotels in Paris (not big but comfortable) the bathroom was big enough to be comfortable and it was clean, the location was perfect with only 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel to the Eiffel tower and 4 minutes from the metro station
Rose, the breakfast chef, was terrific; kind and attentive, she was a superb host. The breakfast had everything you would want: eggs, toast, panca, yogurt, fruit, of course croissants, cider, select re and more.
Excellent location!

Great for a quick bite near the metro. Grabbed a quick crepe, panini, sandwich.... Surprisingly, they wanted us to come inside & order the same thing again from the table for twice the price. We went back to the window and ordered again our quick snack, we were surprised that the crepes were pre made not fresh. We sat across the street on a park bench enjoying it.
Service is stellar. A real chef making fresh plats du jour, homemade pasta and consistently delicious dishes. Don't miss the lasagne and the house made cocoa rhum. Lots to see here on a busy corner with abundant outdoor seating. They couldn't be more friendly! A+++
Located in a very easily accessible part of Paris, we were walking around late after exploring the Louvre area looking for something easy and we found this. There was ample space outside on the terrace which was what we were looking for as tourists in Paris. We ordered a cheese board to share which came with ample cheese selections and their escargot was beyond amazing. Main dishes did not disappoint and were plentiful. The price was reasonable and the ambiance was what we were looking for. Would come back!

We stopped by La Tour Maubourg to wait out the rain. We ordered a beer, an espresso, and a Nutella crepe to share. It was during an off-hour (late afternoon), so the restaurant was relatively empty, and the waitress was having her own lunch. It was a nice spot to sit and wait out the rain.
Nutella Crepe & Espresso
I'm giving this restaurant one star because none isn't an option. Lots of options on the menu, but had no paninis or pancakes the day we went. So we settled for an open sandwich and promptly found a hair in it when we started to eat. We ate around it, only to have a mouse run by our sight of view. That was enough for us to decide that cleanliness was not a priority at this restaurant and decided to leave. Unfortunately this must be a regular occurrence because the waitress was unphased by the hair or the mouse and still required we pay our tab. I would never go back and do not recommend.
To be fair, I am not a fan of cheese. Otherwise, I may give it 4 stars. However, I did not lower the rating for the "uncomfortable" seats that we had - a small table on a rainy day. The food was okay and the service was good. We had our lunch there but could not finish all the cheeses.
A great experience. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming. We arrived after walking from Les Invalides and were hungry and thirsty. It was about 1 pm. Just found out our waiter was Luis. He was also multilingual, speaking Spanish to the Spanish-speaking patrons, English to use, and of course, French. My ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette was exactly what I wanted. Why can no one in America make a good baguette. I am very happy. Prices were reasonable as well.
We stopped for just 1 bottle of wine before heading to the Eiffel Tower. Only 1 waiter for inside and outside the restaurant who somehow managed to provide great service! 2 bottles of wine, crepes and a Castilian band later, we left fully satisfied and content.
Everything was wrong from the moment we entered. It was starting to drizzle and we were tired from exploring the city. We went inside instead of eating outdoors - 1st sign it smelled like a sewer inside. We decided to overlook it and ordered to beers. One of the beers had a thick film (hopefully malt) that made us both feel really uneasy. Minutes after ordering the meals the food was brought out. My friend had the plate full hour which was made of beef and mashed potatoes, all of the "beef" was mostly nerves and inedible. My friend tried her best to separate the meat but then during one of the chews she bit into something hard (hopefully we think it's plastic but she said it reminded her of a tooth) we told our waitress again and she proceeded to bring us our check. We didn't argue and paid for 2 meals one which was barely touched and mine that I was forcing down bc I was hungry but regret it now.
Plate du jour - meat and potatoes
Hopefully just a hard piece of plastic found inside the meat found during chewing.
Directly across the street from our hotel, Cafe Latour Maubourg ( Brasserie LM ) provided a fantastic breakfast to help fuel us for a busy day of sightseeing Trying out my less than remedial French, we muddled through our order of cheese omelets & lattes Sitting outside on our sunny morning, it was nice to watch the people walking by, the vendors greeting each other as they were rushing off to their shops & other local diners enjoying their fare Omelets were among the best I've ever had - nice buttery, with a caramely-browned, outside & stringy pulls of cheese at each bite. The eggs were fluffy & extremely tasty & the ratio of cheese to egg was just perfect Accompanied a side salad and the best tangy dressing - it was the perfect pairing for our omelet Coffees were milky & strong & hit the spot Also saw a little window on the side of the building offering sandwiches for takeaway ( not sure if it was the same restaurant but it looked like it was ) & there was a line.....which is always a good indicator it's delish Would make this a repeat visit & would love to check out their dinner options when next in the area
