Haridwar – Guptkashi

Haridwar morning and drive to Guptkashi via Rudraprayag & Devprayag. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Ganga and Alaknanda River till Rudraprayag. The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptakashi. Guptakashi:- The name Gupt Kashi means “Hidden Benares. Mythology describes how when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva, Shivji first concealed himself at Guptkashi, but later fled from them further up the valley to Kedarnath, where the Pandavas finally got their wish fulfilled. There are more tangible connections as well-the Kedarnath pandas (priests) live in Guptkashi during the winter months, and after the Kedarnath temple closes for the winter, the image of Kedarnath passes through Gupt Kashi on its way to Ukhimath (across the valley), where it stays for the winter.

Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Guptkashi

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

Guptkashi – Badrinath

Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). Badrinath one of the ‘Ancient Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. Joshimath is situated on the slopes above the confluence of the rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Of the four ‘Maths’ established by Adi Shankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in the township. The most important is the temple of Nir Singh with the idol of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity is getting destroyed with time and the popular belief holds that the day the arm completely withers Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighboring Niti Valley at Bhavishya Badri.

Rudraprayag – Haridwar

DAY 1- DELHI TO GUPTKASHI | DRIVE THROUGH MANDAKINI RIVER

Meet up at the departure point of the vehicle in Delhi (will be communicated to you in advance)
A short break at Devprayag, where you can witness the Holy Sangam of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda that together form Ganga.
Get back on the way to Guptkashi, witnessing some of the most scenic views.
On reaching Guptkashi, check in to the hotel
Stay the night at Guptkashi.

DAY 2- GUPTAKASHI – GAURIKUND – KEDARNATH | TREK AMIDST THE BEAUTIFUL TRAIL TO KEDARNATH TEMPLE

Wake up early in the morning and have a delicious breakfast.
Head towards Sonprayag, where the trekking to Kedarnath will begin.
Eat a delicious meal and get transferred from Guptkashi to Sonprayag.
Reach Sonprayag, walk to the Government Union taxi stand, to reach Gaurikund. (Walk for 1 Km as no private vehicles are allowed in Gaurikund)
Reach Gaurikund and start the soulful trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund.
You can hire ponies or palanquins for a comfortable journey.
Trek through the beautiful meadows and rivers.
You can take a lunch break in between and then continue the journey. Here, you will see the Kedarnath Temple, situated right at the centre of the valley with majestic mountains.
Reach Kedarnath, you can finally witness the whole valley which is filled with the sound of ringing bells and prayers going on everywhere. This will surely mesmerize you.
Stay the night in Kedarnath.

DAY 3 - KEDARNATH –GUPTKASHI| TREKKING DOWNWARDS WITNESSING THE VALLEYS

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
After the early morning Darshan, head towards Gaurikund from Kedarnath. Here you can hire ponies or palanquins for a safe and comfortable journey. (Own Expense).
After you reach Gaurikund you will have to proceed to Sonprayag by government Taxi.
Arrive at Sonprayag, go to Guptkashi/Rampur (Walk for 1 Km is required at Sonprayag as no private vehicles are allowed after a certain point)
Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

DAY 4 - GUPTKASHI TO BADRINATH VIA JOSHIMATH

Wake up early and have a delicious breakfast. Check out from the hotel by 10:00 AM.
On your way, you will come across famous places like Baniyakund. Witness the beautiful snow-clad peaks of Chandrashila and see the enchanting views of Joshimath, Govindghat, and Hanuman Chatti.
Have lunch at the local restaurants on your way, reach Badrinath by evening.
After reaching, check-in at the hotel and take some rest.
Head out for Badrinath Darshan and seek the blessings of Vishnu. You can also witness the evening aarti at the temple.
After the darshan, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 5-GUPTKASHI – RISHIKESH | CAMP STAY WITH BONFIRE AND MUSIC

After having breakfast in the morning, drive to Rishikesh via Joshimath.

Do Dham Yatra Itinerary Package

Day 1 : Delhi – Haridwar

Guests are received at Delhi airport and railway station and escorted to a hotel.
The guests are served refreshments here and are allowed to rest for a while.
After that the tour proceeds towards Haridwar.
The party checks in at a hotel in Haridwar and the guests are allowed to rest.
By evening the guests are taken on a trip to Har-ki-Pauri where they take part in the aarti.
Guests are then taken back to the hotel where their overnight stay is arranged.

Day 2 : Guptkashi

Early morning, after breakfast, the tour moves to Gupkashi.
Guptkashi is considered to be very sacred for Hindus, next to Kashi.
The entourage checks in at the hotel where prior arrangement is made for them.
The guests are served lunch here and they are allowed to rest for a while.
After brief rest the guests are taken on a tour to Guptkashi.
They are also taken to the widely renowned and ancient Vishwanath temple.
After the sightseeing trip the entourage returns to the hotel by night where dinner is served to them.

Day 3 : Kedarnath

Next day, post breakfast, the party moves to Kedarnath.
On reaching Kedarnath the guests are taken to a hotel where prior arrangement is made for them.
The guests are served lunch here and are allowed to rest for a while.
After a brief rest the guests are taken along to see some of the important temples of the place.
After this the guests are taken on a trip to the ‘kunds’.
Next place to be visited is the famous Gandhi Sarovar where one can witness floating mass of ice on the rivers.
As night falls the entourage returns to the hotel where guests spend their night.

Day 4 : Pipalkoti

After breakfast, next day, the tour moves to Pipalkoti.
The entourage moves to a pre-arranged hotel where the guests are served lunch.
After a brief rest the guests are taken on a sightseeing trip to the place which appears exotic with snow clad mountain tips and lush green hillocks.
By night the party returns to the hotel where they are served dinner.

Day 5 : Badrinath

After resting for a while the guests are taken along to see some of the important temple in the region.
They are also taken to the bank of river Alaknanda where they can witness the river as well as ‘Tapt Kund’ a natural thermal spring which is reputed to carry medicinal properties.
Next in line is Neelkanth, a renowned snow covered peak in Badrinath.
As night descends the guests return to the hotel where dinner is served to them.

Day 6 : Rishikesh

Early morning, after breakfast, the entourage proceeds to Rishikesh.
The guests are taken to a hotel where prior arrangement is made for the guests.
The guests are served lunch here and are allowed to rest.
After resting for a while guests are taken along to see the attraction of the place like Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula etc.
In the evening the guests are taken to Triveni Ghat where they attend the aarti.
By night the guests return to hotel where dinner is served to them.

Day 7 : Rishikesh – Delhi

Next morning after breakfast the entourage is driven back to Delhi.
The guests are escorted to a hotel where they are served refreshments.
After this the guests are dropped at railway station and airport.
The tour comes to an end.
